L-R - Derek Ho - Cello (live only), Matthew Logan - Drums, Violin II, Ellen Smith - Viola Michelle Gao - Violin I, Kyle Hagen, Shawn Hillman - Guitar, Cello Matthew Hannah - Keyboards Vancouver, Canada’s Opus Arise is an orchestral metal ensemble that brings together classical strings and metal rhythms to create luscious soundscapes to dissonant chaos. Their newest album, “The Network” teleports listeners into a cyberpunk world filled with neon lights, and punctuated with progressive riffs. The last album “Revelation” was released in 2016, and since then, they have taken a more orchestral direction using a string quintet and planning to incorporate more orchestral instruments. Within the cyberpunk world, research is conducted to find the correlation between chord progressions and the manipulation of space and time. The band explains further and details the first single “Inner Skepticism”: “The combination of frequencies opens a wormhole into a future setting that blindsides the character. In this place, people have unseen technology and seem indifferent to his presence. This is the album opener that brings the listener into the world of “The Network”, an atmospheric opening into a bombastic tour de force. Tons of progressive riffing and virtuosic musicianship in this piece.” The instrumental album is eight tracks long for a total running time of just over forty minutes. It is the result of many influences, especially prog, metal, classical, orchestral, electronic, and video game music combined into one strange form by nine members who met through orchestras and university. The vision and compositions by drummer / violinist Matthew Logan with the assistance of founding member Shawn Hillman are now being finally brought to life. Taking their inspiration from classical symphonies, movies, and video game soundtracks as well as neo-classical even extreme genres like black and death, Opus Arise creates music that will challenge the listener. They are recommended for fans of Animals As Leaders, Liquid Tension Experiment, Planet X, and Scale The Summit. Danish orchestral black / death metallers Sinnrs have signed with Sliptrick Records. Where classical and extreme metal both collide, and merge in extreme harmony; Danish duo Sinnrs exude their own form of blackened metal, a sound that proves more brutal than their name, a sound cited in their own worlds, as “pure dark matter”. Nero and Maestus formed Sinnrs in July 2017, and immediately started conjuring songs for their debut album Profound, launched a year later on the 22nd of July 2018. The 10-track release contains a juxtaposition of punishing guitar riffs and relentless blast beats with symphonic arrangements and soaring vocals is fascinating in the way it highlights the inherent differences and similarities these genres have. During 2021, Nero and Maestus created the maxi-EP Detrahamus. With their new release, Sinnrs are taking their orchestral and symphonic elements to a new level, while still maintaining their signature dark and atmospheric sound. Detrahamus is set for release via Sliptrick Records in 2022. Sinnrs are:

Italian Orchestral Death Metal giants Fleshgod Apocalypse have unveiled a stunningly beautiful new cinematic masterpiece video for the band’s latest single 'Monnalisa.' The video was produced by Void n’ Disorder, directed by Giovanni Bucci (Korn) and shot by Francesco Pennica. Full credits can be found in the video’s description on YouTube. Francesco Paoli says: “'Monnalisa' is truly experimental but, at the same time, one of the best songs we've ever written. It stood up amongst the other 'Veleno' tracks right from its release, becoming an instant classic for our fans. I believe what makes this one so special for everyone is that the idea of "poisoning", which is at the very centre of our album 'Veleno' is connected to love. Even the most noble of feelings can become toxic if we suddenly lose our identity, letting our mind and soul become enslaved to someone else. In the end, we can truly love someone only if we find a way to love ourselves first. This is one of the most meaningful messages hidden inside our album. That's why we felt the need to emphasize it even more through this video. When I came up with the concept behind the video, we all agreed that only someone like Giovanni Bucci (Korn, Oddko), who directed our previous video 'Sugar', could have handled it the way we desired. The final result is a cinematic video that looks as good as a high-end fashion film, with incredible production values and unconventional imagery, mostly inspired by the historical heritage of Italian fashion and architecture, while still maintaining some horror aspects. Giovanni and I have known each other for a very long time and I collaborated with his band Oddko. I'm a huge fan of all his work as a full rounded artist. He and all the creative minds of the Void ‘N Disorder team, like the extraordinarily talented Art Director Paola Rocchetti, and top-level colourist Gabe Sanchez (Post Malone, Usher, Camila Cabello) transformed a bunch of cool ideas into a mind-blowing piece of art.” Giovanni Bucci adds: “My goal with this music video was to prove that you can make something elegant and classy and still be metal as fuck. I wanted to get away from the gritty stereotypes of metal videos and since we are all Italians, I thought that it would be interesting to juxtapose Death Metal imagery with elements from classical Italian culture, with its sophistication, elegance, and style. Moreover, it's always a pleasure to work with these guys and Francesco, who plays the drums on Oddko’s upcoming album and is also featured in the next, soon to be released, music videos.” www.fleshgodapocalypse.com www.facebook.com/fleshgodapocalypse https://twitter.com/fapocalypse https://www.instagram.com/fleshgodofficial www.nuclearblast.de/fleshgodapocalypse The wait is almost over as Italian orchestral-death metal juggernauts Fleshgod Apocalypse are about to unleash their 5th record, 'Veleno', this Friday through Nuclear Blast Records. We soon became good friends, so we started talking about having him as director for Fleshgod’s new videos. He is a true visionary, with amazing directing and production skills. He’s been making music videos for bands like Korn, and he also has a shining career in the movie industry. We all agreed that he would’ve been the key to a huge step forward for us, visually and artistically, especially on a video like this, which was also extremely complex to produce and shoot. The result is on your screen now, and it's better than any description. Just hit the play button and enjoy."

The sky ghost, the wayfarer, the shadow of time, the exile; he is called by many names yet for the Immortal, he is cursed to traverse the cosmos aimlessly, searching for an unattainable purpose. Chained to him is a beast, a demon from antiquity who the immortal keeps as a reminder of his past. Upon the corridors of the Tymeer capitol the immortal presents his seemingly profound doctrine called the “Compendium of Ethical Symbiosis” which outlines a harmonious way of governing and regulating the various civilizations under the ruling regime through casting down warmonger ideologies and laws which degrade the value of its species. Though momentarily entertained, the ruling counsel of Tymeer dismisses the wisdom of the wayfarer. Passing through the city gates tired and morally degraded, the immortal along with his insidiously chained demon wanders into the wastelands of Tymeer. It is here that his journey begins Show Dates: April 13 - Greensboro, NC - Shiners - info (Fuel The Magazine Anniversary Show) http://www.testyourmetalofficial.com https://www.facebook.com/xael.metal https://twitter.com/XaelBand http://instagram.com/xael_official Spain's Last Days Of Eden announce collaboration with the Oviedo Filarmonía Symphonic Orchestra28/10/2017 Last Days Of Eden are proud to announce that Oviedo Filarmonía Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by Director Gaspar Muñiz will be recording a symphonic version of the new album.
