Finland's Lie In Ruins have premiered a brand new track off their forthcoming album, Floating in Timeless Streams. The song, "(Becoming) One with the Aether," is streaming now at this location.

Dark Descent Records will release Floating in Timeless Streams November 20 on CD, digital and vinyl. Pre-order the album HERE.

Lie In Ruins will unleash their most intense release to date with Floating in Timeless Streams. Throughout these 8 hellish tracks, Lie In Ruins twists their cavernous sound into new, more violent forms.

"(Becoming) One with the Aether" is the second track released off of Floating in Timeless Streams. The album's first single, “Spectral Realms of Fornication” is streaming at this location.

Six years after Lie In Ruin's last full-length (2014's Towards Divine Death), Floating in Timeless Streams sees a more streamlined approach from the band. A departure from the 70+ minute onslaught of Towards Divine Death, Floating in Timeless Streams delivers a more calculated attack, clocking in at 41 lethal minutes.

Floating in Timeless Streams continues to highlight the tremendous guitar work of Roni Ärling and Tuomas Kulmala, their mastery backed by new addition of Corpsessed drummer Jussi-Pekka Manner. The album is rounded out by the tormented and guttural vocals of Roni Sahari (Desolate Shrine).

Lie In Ruin’s magnum opus, Floating in Timeless Streams is arguably the most brutal album of 2020. Finnish death metal's finest!

Line-up:

Roni Ärling- Guitars
Tuomas Kulmala - Guitars / Vocals
Roni Sahari - Bass/Vocals
Jussi-Pekka Manner - Drums / Backing vocals

Northern Irish Symphonic Power Metallers Ravenlight release cover of ‘Zenith’ by Ghost

Northern Irish Symphonic Power Metallers Ravenlight have just released a haunting new cover of ‘Zenith’ by Ghost.

Following on the release of their debut album ‘Project Genesis’ in June of this year, Ravenlight, unfortunately, had their live plans to promote the release cancelled due to the ongoing situation in the world, however, instead of remaining idle, they returned to the studio to record an ambitious cover of the Ghost track.

Singer Rebecca Feeney had the following to say about the track:

“Zenith may seem a not so obvious song for a cover, however, we went with Zenith for many reasons. I really enjoyed singing along to it, it really suited my range. Furthermore, we felt that Zenith is a very underrated Ghost song, due to the fact that it is a bonus track on the Vinyl version of Meliora, so it is not as well known as other tracks, giving us a chance to really put our own spin on it.”

Modern Metallers Amaranthe unleash official video for new digital single 'Do Or Die' (ft Angela Gossow)

15/2/2020

Picture

Sweden’s hottest metal export is just rounding up their European arena tour with Sabaton and are ready to present a very special Valentine’s Day gift: Amaranthe spice up the day with a brand new song featuring former vocalist of Arch Enemy, Angela Gossow. 'Do Or Die' displays Amaranthe’s heavier side and is accompanied by a dystopian horror video filmed in Spain, featuring Fardou Keuning's stunning creations. Brave enough? Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/iZweNFWbegI

Angela Gossow comments:-

"It was thrilling to join Amaranthe for a more extreme track and shooting a cutting edge video for it! This is no cosy studio performance, but real ice cold winds, sewage, cadavers and pouring rain - the reality we live in, the devastating legacy we leave to our future generations. Time to wake up, turn - and bang - some heads! Watch out for these guys and killer lady, they are going to crush you this year with a new album and some heavy touring!!!"

Guitarist Olof Mörck states:-

"While Amaranthe's music is often uplifting, energetic and positive, sooner or later everyone needs to deal with the obvious fact that the world is literally crumbling around us - and it is crumbling fast, thanks to the short sighted abuse of our common Mother Earth! We talked to legendary Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy fame to do an entire package of a video and a song, outside of any normal album cycle, and let our different perspectives on metal collide in a massive explosion; and it resulted in Do or Die! Together with Overbeck Media who shot the video, we delivered something really quite special, and Angela brings in a fresh strength to the trademark Amaranthe sound that is sure to resound all across the metal world! Death and Fire!"

With their foundations tracing back to 2008, the group have released 5 albums since then (2011's Amaranthe, 2013's The Nexus, 2014's Massive Addictive, 2016's Maximalism, and 2018's Helix), consistently delivering hauntingly catchy tunes led by their unique three-part vocals. Within their arsenal of hit singles - with 'Drop Dead Cynical' leading right at the front - a myriad tracks have been received very well via press and fans alike; having also gained countless plays on both radio stations around the globe and across streaming services (the group's songs have been streamed more than 100 million times on Spotify). A string of support tours have blazed Amaranthe's trail in front of huge crowds as well as at their own headline concerts (the group impressively once performed in front of 10,000 fans at Liseberg, Gothenburg). They have kept working incredibly hard over the years, the latest product of which culminated in the form of Helix, which achieved them some of their highest chart positions in the band's history (Switzerland #21, Germany #29 etc.).

Be sure to follow the band on Spotify & YouTube to not miss any of their upcoming releases..

Swedish Death metallers Sarcasm sign with Hammerheart Records

Picture

Sarcasm sign with Hammerheart Records and a new album is in the plans for the end of 2020 of early 2021!

Sarcasm got started during the Golden Age of Swedish Death, in the year 1990. After 4 years of releasing demos Sarcasm disappeared, but returned to form by 2015. Aside from several compilations Sarcasm has released three critically acclaimed albums since then, with a crowning achievement in 2019 with the release of  “Esoteric Tales Of The Unserene”, an album that appeared on a lot of year lists. Said album is a highlight within the Scandinavian tradition of high-intensity melodic Death Metal and got Sarcasm noticed more than ever before.

Finnish Cello Metal veterans Apocalyptica release brand new video for 'En Route To Mayhem'

18/12/2019

Picture

Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rock band Apocalyptica have released the video for ‘En Route To Mayhem’, which will transport the viewer to a fantastical post-humanity future. This imaginary world is barren, dusty, and littered with broken pieces of things once considered essential to humankind such as bits of plastic, a teddy bear, crumbling structures, cell phones and computers, bleached bones, and long-forgotten musical instruments. The setting is devoid of mankind, but brimming with the hope of new life; and then one day, thunder, lightning, and one drop at a time, it begins to rain, and Mother Nature steps in. Check out the ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video HERE.

Apocalyptica’s Eicca Toppinen comments:-

“‘En Route To Mayhem’ is a journey of hedonic needs growing into greed and aggression, driving into inner mayhem and ending without satisfaction. This video underlines the fact that however we think we are in control by destroying things and life around us, life itself will take over in the end, always. We are not in control of the bigger picture, and we should be aware of it and raise our respect to life around us.”

The ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video is in support of Apocalyptica’s upcoming album, Cell-0, due out January 10th, 2020 via Silver Lining Music. Produced by Apocalyptica – cellists Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso, and Paavo Lötjönen, and drummer Mikko Sirén and mixed by Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lana Del Rey, Metallica and Black Sabbath), and recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki.

The recording of Cell-0 followed a four-year break between albums that gave the band a fresh perspective and affected the way they approached the new music. Cell-0 is the quartet's first instrumental album in 17 years and found the musicians challenging themselves to discover new flavours and colours in their respective instruments. For Cell-0 pre-order options, go to this location.

Perttu Kivilaakso comments:-

“Cell-0 has a concept which is to challenge the listeners to question themselves and ask “Am I doing the best I can for the environment, for other beings? Is there still something I can change?”

To highlight environmental issues, the band wanted to ask fans to do something for our planet; so to coincide with the release of the new video, they have launched a very special competition, which will give fans the chance to win the opportunity for Apocalyptica to play in their living room.

To enter, fans will need to show the band how they are making the planet a healthier place for everyone. Fans can head to their Facebook page and comment with photos/videos showing what they are doing to help the planet and telling the band why they should be picked as a winner.

To find out more information, head to the band’s Facebook page. The online contest is open to all European fans from now and will close at 7:00 pm CET Friday, January 10th, 2020.  Full terms and conditions can be found here.

In concert, Apocalyptica are known for their moving live performances and will kick off the New Year as Special Guests on Sabaton's 15-country, 23-date European arena tour that begins on January 17, 2020 in Zurich, Switzerland. With a set list that will likely vary night to night, Apocalyptica's performances will be comprised of new songs from Cell-0 as well as from the band's rich catalogue. Tickets are on sale now; go to https://www.apocalyptica.com for all pre-sales, VIP packages, and ticketing details.

P3 Guld is an award ceremony that was established in 2003 by the national Swedish radio station P3 and is being held in the beginning of every new year. The P3 Guld award has been given out to outstanding artists in the music field and consists of nine different categories.

This year‘s gala will take place on January 18, 2020 and broadcasted live on national television. The jury consists of music experts as well as the vote of the Swedish people. Past winners include huge global artists such as Avicci, The Hives and Robyn and in the metal category you‘ll find Sweden‘s finest metal exports Opeth, In Flames and the ever so popular shock rock band Ghost.

The Swedish melodic folk/black metal-band Wormwood raised critical acclaim among the global music press with their sophomore full length “Nattarvet”. A concept album about the Swedish winter landscape and the famine in the end of the 19th century.
