Norwegian melodic death metallers Art Of Deception have today unleashed their outstanding lyric video for the first single ‘Lysjakt’, taken from their forthcoming album ‘Path of Trees’, set to be released in June 2018 via Rob Mules Records. The lyric video was mixed and mastered by Martin Skar Berger.

‘Lysjakt’ is an insanely hard driven and cool metal track from their forthcoming album. If you haven’t listened to Art Of Deception yet, now is the time! Something is in the air, something big is about to happen – great things are expected of these lads from Stavanger, Norway!

Norway's Art Of Deception – formed in 2012 – is a melodic death metal band with thrash and progressive influences. Their live show can be described as energetic and full of crazy ass wind-milling. Since 2012 they have played countless headliner shows, support shows and festivals including the Bloodstock Open Air Festival, and opening for Nile & Terrorizer on the first part of the ‘What Should Not Be Unearthed Part III’ tour. Other bands they have shared stage with is Kvelertak, Entombed A.D., Blood Red Throne amongst others. The band is set to release their new album, entitled “Path of Trees”, in June 2018. Lamb Of God reveals Burn The Priest cover of Big Black's "Kerosene"

28/4/2018

Legion: XX track listing:

1. Inherit The Earth (originally performed by The Accused)
2. Honey Bucket (originally performed by Melvins)
3. Kerosene (originally performed by Big Black)
4. Kill Yourself (originally performed by S.O.D.)
5. I Against I (originally performed by Bad Brains)
6. Axis Rot (originally performed by Sliang Laos)
7. Jesus Built My Hotrod (originally performed by Ministry)
8. One Voice (originally performed by Agnostic Front)
9. Dine Alone (originally performed by Quicksand)
10. We Gotta Know (originally performed by Cro-Mags)

RIAA-certified, Billboard chart-topping, five-time Grammy nominated Richmond, VA band Lamb Of God recently announced the release of their highly-anticipated full-length covers album as Burn The Priest - Legion: XX - a collection of songs reflecting the greatness of the classic punk, hardcore, crossover and noise artists that influenced them in their formative years, executed with their signature modern sound.

Legion: XX features tracks originally performed by Cro-Mags, Agnostic Front, Quicksand, Ministry, Bad Brains, Melvins, S.O.D., the Accused, Big Black, and Richmond punk band Sliang Laos. Produced with Josh Wilbur at the helm, Legion: XX exhibits BURN THE PRIEST in their true element.

Following up on the surprise release of their cover of the Accused's "Inherit The Earth" last month, the band is releasing another blistering track from Legion: XX - a charging cover of Big Black's "Kerosene". Listen now via http://burn-the-priest.com.

"Big Black is a very important band to me," says vocalist Randy Blythe. "When I was 12 and first listening to punk rock, I thought all punk came from England - but then through skating, I got into Black Flag and Bad Brains. I soon discovered this super-smart American punk rock - very caustic, and deeply sardonic about the murky side of the human experience. That got me into Steve Albini's future bands Shellac and Rapeman - and all the noisy smart punk rock on labels like AmRep and Touch & Go. 'Kerosene' was one of their biggest songs, if they even had one. It speaks to small-town boredom."

Legion: XX will be released on May 18, 2018 via Epic Records in celebration of Burn The Priest's upcoming 20th anniversary. Pre-orders and merch bundles are available now via http://burn-the-priest.com and fans can stream "Inherit The Earth" and "Kerosene" here: http://btp.lnk.to/legionxx. On street date, a 7" vinyl version of "Inherit the Earth" featuring a B-side of "In the Meantime" (originally performed by Helmet), will also be available.

Lamb Of God may be one of the biggest bands in modern metal, but they will never forget where they came from. Mark Morton (guitar), John Campbell (bass), and Chris Adler (drums) formed the first incarnation of the band, Burn The Priest, in the winter of 1994 after meeting four years earlier as students at Virginia Commonwealth University. Less than a year later, in the summer of 1995, they met vocalist Randy Blythe before adding Chris Adler's brother, Willie Adler (guitar), prior to transitioning to Lamb Of God - and the rest is global metal history.

The tracks on Legion: XX are performed with the unmistakable precision that has kept Lamb Of God vital for two decades, but ultimately harks back to the raw, punk-driven sound first explored by four unsuspecting college students and a line cook-turned-vocalist in their beginnings as heavy music giants.

Prog-melodic metal band Etterna hail from Presov, Slovakia and official started in August 2016. Duo Tomas Visnovsky (drums) and Feral Inferis (guitar) decided to continue in common cooperation after their former band had disbanded. The Etterna line-up is completed by singer Ady Hnat, guitarist Adam Manko and bassist Peter Jakub. The band focuses on strong rhythms and melodies whilst pushing boundaries and taking the music progressively further. Due to different musical influences of band members, it wasn’t hard to combine and thus create Etterna’s own music style.

The band set to work and very quickly 2 songs were ready to be recorded. The first song, Demon, was released as a lyric video and the second, Secreto en Fragopolis, was published as the groups first official music video. 2017 saw the band gigging extensively and working hard on their debut album Chaotic due for release via Sliptrick Records in 2018. The future looks bright for Etterna and they will continue to move ever forward and upward when they present their new material on stage after the albums officially release.

Brazilian legends Sepultura release 'Arise: Expanded Edition' on vinyl and CD on June 15th through Rhino

28/4/2018

Picture
Sepultura hit their stride in 1991 when the Brazilian quartet released their acclaimed fourth record ‘Arise’. Certified Platinum based on worldwide sales, the album includes indispensable thrash/death metal tracks like ‘Under Siege (Regnum Irae)’ and ‘Dead Embryonic Cells’. Rhino will revisit this raucous classic with a remastered version of the original album that’s been expanded with rare and unreleased studio and live recordings. ‘Arise: Expanded Edition’ will be released on June 15th as a double-disc set. A double-LP version that features an abbreviated track listing will be available on the same day. The music will also be available digitally and via streaming services.

In 1983, brothers Max and Igor Cavalera founded Sepultura. Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. joined soon after, and Andreas Kisser later joined as lead guitarist, rounding out the band’s earlier line-up. They have since sold nearly 20 million albums worldwide, including more than three million in the United States.
Following the breakthrough success of 1989’s ‘Beneath The Remains’, the band regrouped in Florida to record ‘Arise’ with producer Scott Burns. Thrash and death metal were the album’s primary sources of inspiration, but tracks like ‘Desperate Cry’ revealed the band’s love for hardcore punk, while the tribal rhythms of ‘Altered State’ foreshadowed a new direction the band would explore on future albums.

‘Arise: Expanded Edition’ features a newly remastered version of the original album along with 28 bonus tracks. Many of those have never been released, including an industrial remix of ‘Dead Embryonic Cells’, ‘Meaningless Movements’ from an August 1989 writing session, and a cover of Motorhead’s ‘Orgasmatron’.

Previously unreleased highlights from the second disc include a version of ‘Infected Voice’ from writing sessions that took place in March 1990, as well as basic tracks for ‘Murder’, ‘Altered State’ and more. The disc also features the CD debut of eight concert recordings originally released on the band’s first home video, ‘Under Seige (Live In Barcelona)’, including ‘Arise’, ‘Dead Embryonic Cells’ and ‘Beneath The Remains’.

To fit onto a double-LP, the vinyl version of ‘Arise: Expanded Edition’ features a condensed track-listing. It includes the 2018 remastered version of the original album, along with a selection of ten bonus tracks from the CD set.

Portugal's Filil Nigrantium Infernalium premiere new track from upcoming Osmose album at Ultraje.pt

Cult Portuguese metallers Filii Nigrantium Infernalium premiere the new track "Pó" at heavily trafficked web-portal Ultraje.pt. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated third album, Hóstia, set for international release on May 25th via Osmose Productions. Also on that date, Osmose Productions  shall release a totally re-recorded version of Filii Nigrantium Infernalium's 2005 debut album, Fellatrix, as well as a reissue of 2013's Pornokrates: Deo Gratias. Hear Filii Nigrantium Infernalium's brand-new "Pó" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Five years after their last album, Pornokrates: Deo Gratias, Filii Nigrantium Infernalium are once again risen from the infernal depths to deliver a new offering onto the altar of sacrifice, their best and most impressive work to date: Hóstia. This elusive band which has, so far, seldom left its hellish pit, despite a lengthy history, brewed or, shall we say, baked the most blasphemous communion bread never to have been shared in the holy mass. Hóstia, like the band, is a sardonic, acid, Heavy Black Metal offering brought from a time in which Metal was Black and Black was Metal, savage and iconoclastic. Osmose Productions retrieves from the near-forgotten past a band whose roots run deep into early times. And nearly three decades after the band's inception, Filii Nigrantium Infernalium still have much to say, as Hóstia makes plain.

This is a new definition of classic Heavy and Black Metal, sung in one of the most widespread languages in the Catholic world, Portuguese, to poison your soul with the venomous charm of funerary carnivalesque Necrotheoholocaust! Featuring awesome and unforgettable prayer words by world-infamous necro-poet N.ª S.ª Perpétua and adorned with cover artwork by outrageous classical avant-garde metalhead painter Paolo Girardi, inspired by Rome’s Vatican baroque century frescoes. It pays, simultaneously, homage to the great Heavy Metal cover art tradition.

Come take the sacrament of Black Heavy Metal while you linger in wait for the afterlife. The first sacrament can be found exclusively HERE, courtesy of Ultraje.pt.

Kazakh Thrashers Zarraza release video for "Abyss Above Me"

27/4/2018

Picture

Kazakhstan's own thrash maniacs Zarraza have just released a lyric video for "Abyss Above Me," the opening track to their long-awaited sophomore album Necroshiva. Inspired by the likes of Slayer, Napalm Death, Sepultura, and Decapitated, ZARRAZA's new track demonstrates the promise of this under-represented corner of the worldwide metal scene.

Stream "Abyss Above Me" here.

Formed in 2010, Zarraza is one of the hardest working metal bands in Central Asia. They independently released two EPs (Bullets & Beliefs in 2012 and Cutting Meat, Fast & Loud in 2013) and have travelled across Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan to bring their virulent brand of death metal to hungry audiences.

Zarraza received international notoriety after Maxim Magazine shared their video for "Zombie Kids" with Asking Alexandria, who expressed fear and disgust after watching it.

Now the band is ready to blow up the scene with their first full-length album, Necroshiva, to be released May 11, 2018.

The band commented:

"The only thing we worry about is how our lyrics for songs like “If I Was Satan” would be translated into Kazakh or Russian. Anti-religious songs full of sarcasm and quotes from Giordano Bruno and Pierre-Simon de Laplace are not welcomed in a country where there is a significant Muslim population."

Truly an international endeavour, Necroshiva was recorded in the fall and winter of 2017 through 2018 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was mixed and mastered by Arkadiy Navaho (Katalepsy, Siberian Meatgrinder, Distant Sun) at Navaho Studio in Moscow, Russia, with cover artwork by V. Smerdulak (Katalepsy).

Zarraza is...

Nick Khalabuzar – guitar and vocals
Ruslan Konon – drums
Eugene Hablack – bass
Dan Eternal – guitar

Set to unleash their new album "Saviours" on May 25th, Ottawa thrashers Infrared are "All In Favour" of premiering their first single with Metal Rules.com.

“Anyone who likes a more classic thrash sound, and longs for those days, just like we do, will dig this album. Since we are from that era, we are not trying to bring back that style of music, we are simply continuing what we know and do best!” comments vocalist / guitarist Armin Kamal.

Check out "All In Favour" and thrash for yourself at the following link: http://www.metal-rules.com/2018/04/24/ottawa-thrashers-infrared-are-all-in-favour-with-metal-rules-track-premiere-new-album-saviours-due-out-may-25th-post-teaser-launch-pre-order/

Making an impact on the Canadian's 80s thrash scene, Ottawa legends INFRARED have returned to cement and carry on their own legacy, with their new album "Saviours" featuring all new music to follow their EP "No Peace", which featured tracks all written in the 80's and only recently heard by fans in 2016. "Saviours" features eight tracks that are thrashy, aggressive, melodic, heavy, and tight.

Vocalist / guitarist Armin Kamal adds:

“The Big Four will stand out as we have been described as a band with a bay area sound…But our influences are truly rooted in 70s and early 80s metal. Accept, Scorpions, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest are all bands that laid the foundation and the love of metal for us!”

“Saviours” is available for pre-order on iTunes here.

USA's Light This City premiere title track from "Impending Terminal Bloom LP" via: Decibel Magazine

27/4/2018

Picture

Bay Area melodic death metal outfit Light This City has released the title track to the band's upcoming fifth LP, and first in a decade, Terminal Bloom, through a premiere at Decibel Magazine. The band has also announced a run of West Coast tour dates supporting the LP's release.

Light This City returns with ten tracks that capture the band's tendency towards extreme melody and intensity, honouring the Swedish sound of the '90s. Having spent the past decade performing and touring in numerous other bands, the five members of Light This City have only honed and shaped their skills and musicianship since their 2008-released Stormchaser. Terminal Bloom was recorded from December 2017 through February 2018 with Zack Ohren (Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Fallujah) at Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland, California, as with their previous four albums, and is wrapped in the vibrant cover artwork of Tony Midi.

Offers Light This City's Ben Murray,

"We're super excited to share the title track from the upcoming record with you all! 'Terminal Bloom' is one of the heavier songs on the album, with basically zero melody -- just pure thrash! We wanted to release a total banger for the second single to show our fans the diversity of heaviness within the record, and I think this one represents the influences we drive from classic Bay Area thrash and death metal. The song is definitely a ripper, and an unrelenting example of the pace of the album. We hope you enjoy it! Turn it up loud."

Decibel declares with the new song, "...the drought is coming to an end. Terminal Bloom will see release at the end of May, a triumphant return for quintet."

Let Light This City's "Terminal Bloom" out of the cage at Decibel Magazine RIGHT HERE.

Terminal Bloom will see release on CD, LP, and digital formats on May 25th through Creator-Destructor Records; find preorders at the label webstore HERE and Bandcamp where "A Grotesque Reflection" is streaming HERE.

Stand by for additional audio and video from Terminal Bloom and more to be issued shortly.

LIGHT THIS CITY has announced a West Coast tour with labelmates Gygax for late June into July. The Terminal Bloom West Coast Tour begins June 22nd in San Diego, then hits Anaheim, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, and the final show hits Sacramento on July 1st.
