Czech symphonic metal discovery After Evolution have signed a licensing deal with Wormholedeath for their album "War Of The Worlds", which is due for release on June 17th, 2022.

The band have released this statement, history of the band and video (as below):-

"You may ask, "who are they? where did they come from?" and the answer is simple, we came here to the earth from far away, to tell you the story about our world and how we have been born in this one.

Each of us have been reborn in different year, different time, under the different star, moon and sun to connect our destinies in one.

We are the storytellers, ancestors, wanderers of the universe and time, the artists carrying bond between the melodies of the dark and light, death and life, hope and despair and fire and ice...
We are the After Evolution.

The way of finding each other was not easy at all. Everything started one day, when Nikolette met Michael. They knew their meeting meant much more but for the whole reveal of the truth they needed to find the remaining two reborn.

It was the year of 2013 when Nikolette and Michael started with collecting the shards of memories before the big reborn. Piece by piece and part by part of single memory has been written into melody and poetry connected in one. Nikolette and Michael met a lot of souls astray but neither one was the one of the reborn. So after some time they just went by their own path of life.

When the year of 2016 appeared, Michael and Nikolette decided to reveal the part of their threnodies to the world. People loved their melodies accompanied with ancient stories of the other world so they continued with writing more and more of their story. Also by the end of the same year Nikolette with Michael found the third reborn named Adam, so they continued they journey side by side. The melodies of past have been spread really fast so a lot of big and well known collectors of great ancient stories, art and melodies wanted to help to the After Evolution on their path and spread their stories to whole the world. So Nikolette, Michael and Adam with another soul astray agreed and decided to travel to the great Italy to imprint their story connected with dark melodies and ancient power into memory of the world forever.

It was the year of 2018, the hot summer days, when After Evolution finished the big reveal of the truth and with last drop of the ink on the paper they finished the last note in the big part of their story and their past. Unfortunately that soul astray was not ready for the journey of the After Evolution, so he left when he saw the path and went his own way. The path got really complicated. But they didn't give up and continued on their way even if it was full of thorns and pain. They followed their destiny.

On their journey to imprint their story written in melodies to eternity of the world, they met a brave traveller named Ilya, who helped them to finish the rest of their journey and fight the monsters along the way. At the end of the path, he went his own way and After Evolution went on the expedition to find the last lost reborn. The missing piece of the After Evolution.

Later that year of 2018 the fourth lost reborn, Vitek has been found and continued his journey along with the rest of the reborn, After Evolution and their destiny have been fulfilled. They were able to connect all the shards of their memories and finish the story of the ancient world they came from. They found out who they truly are and about their true abilities.

With the time going by, there were a lot of thieves of ancient art who wanted to steal some of their magic and treasures they had, but it never really happened, the things got just a little bit complicated during the protection of their secrets. After Evolution finished their whole story and they have collected and connected with their ancient power all shards of memories together. All that creation was so exhausting for them that After Evolution fell into the deep rest and recovery to gain the energy again and summon all the power and inspiration back to them. When the dark times disappeared, After Evolution, with clear mind and full of energy were ready to accept their destiny and share their story with the world and spread the enchanting melodies again.

With year of 2022 they shared with the world the story about the big war from the ancient world and the war of the worlds chants floated by the world."

Music inspiration :

"My inspiration is in epic orchestral music like movie or game soundtracks for example - Two steps from hell, Audiomachine, Hans Zimmer, Ivan Torrent etc. I was fascinated by Evanescence, Nightwish, Within Temptation and Epica because they connected the orchestras and the metal elements and I really liked that. So I knew I wanted to play symphonic metal but more symphonic, more like epic orchestral metal, so every instrument like guitars, drums and also vocals are composed on the orchestral base not the opposite."

Concept :

"Everyone was asking us "what does AFTER EVOLUTION means?" and I didn't know why they are asking me that to be honest because I have never saw asking someone Nightwish what their name means. But I told myself „okay, I will give my band the meaning“ and I created a whole story about who we are and what is our music about. I love fantasy stories and most of my time I am in clouds with my head so why not. So I started to creating a storyboard and slowly connecting the story with the music."

Development :

"I created whole the story in about 2 weeks and then the music work was next on the list, so I have separated the parts of the story to 11 sections to create 11 music parts for the album. I stopped at each section and imagined the feelings of the main character, the environment and what is happening and I tried to feel everything as if I was there to match the music and orchestras with that feeling of the story. When I have created the orchestras I had already in my head the melody of the vocals and some idea how the guitars and drums should sound. When that was ready I came back to the paper sheet where I have written what is this part about and I’ve started with writing the lyrics. It is really my favourite part because I love writing in contrasts if it is possible and some poetic riddles to think about for example : „red roses are falling down on the cold white snow“ means in my style of writing : falling blood on the ground – I really love making that kind of texts if I have a space for that. Some texts are just describing what is happening and the story and some are more poetic, it really depends on the mood of the song. So that is how I am developing and making the music and its concept etc."

Korn shares video for "Worst Is On Its Way" and global tour dates

Following the release of their highly anticipated studio album Requiem via Loma Vista Recordings in February, Korn shares a new video for the next single "Worst Is on Its Way". The Craig Bernard and Culley Bunker-directed visual shows the band's high energy performance of the song in greyscale as individual members of the band are decomposed into animated particles with a series of visual effects. The 9-track album features the hit single "Start the Healing," which  peaked at #1 on the Active Rock chart, in addition to the previously released tracks "Forgotten," which Rolling Stone described as "explosive" and "Lost In The Grandeur," which dropped as a final taste of Requiem just a few days before the record's release.

Recently described by GQ as "bold and iconoclastic" and released to high acclaim including recent features on the covers of Revolver and King Kong magazines, Requiem is produced by Korn and Chris Collier. Energized by a new creative process free of time constraints, the band was able to do things with Requiem that the past two decades haven't always afforded them, such as taking additional time to experiment together or diligently recording to analogue tape - processes which unearthed newfound sonic dimension and texture in their music.

Additionally, Korn is slated to take their live show across a worldwide run of headline festival and amphitheater tour dates kicking off this summer and running into the fall. The extensive tour begins with a headline performance at Daytona Beach's Welcome To Rockville festival before kicking off EU/UK dates in Amsterdam on May 25th. The tour will see stops in Berlin, London, Stockholm, Budapest and more before returning stateside for dates in Denver, Charlotte, Dallas, Boise and others. Tickets are currently available for purchase HERE.

Watch "Worst Is On Its Way" and listen to Requiem above, see full tour routing, album details and information on the band below and stay tuned for more Korn coming soon.

So we now know who the winners of the GMA Awards 2021 were, but to wrap up the event in it's entirety and bid farewell to 2021 and usher in 2022, we must turn to the last bunch of awards - 'Metal Release By Country / Area'.

Czech avantgarde doom / black metallers Et Moriemur announce new Japanese-themed album

31/12/2021

Picture

Czech avantgarde doom metal band Et Moriemur are trying to do things differently on each album and this time it's no different. Earlier it was symphonic/orchestral doom metal influenced by the Greek culture, and this time around it's completely Japanese-themed with a host of guest musicians playing various instruments including some folk ones. They've blended such influences beautifully into their sound and none of it seems forced. It's just seamlessly integrated and the album flows uninterruptedly too. While it's recommended that you listen to it from start to finish, you can get a taste of their music by checking out their music on Bandcamp and YouTube.

Et Moriemur set new standards for themselves with their previous Greek-themed album 'Epigrammata' which borrowed elements of death and black metal and flawlessly integrated them in their unique brand of atmospheric doom metal. This time they're exploring Japanese themes and have frankly outdone themselves. It's rare to come across bands that are constantly reinventing themselves without losing their core sound and Et Moriemur are doing just that and taking the sound ahead in ways previously unimagined.

An album to be heard from start to finish, it makes you experience various moods and sounds, having employed the services of several musicians in addition to their own, playing traditional instruments such as shakuhachi and others like cello, harp, violin and more. For the next quarter of an hour, you're transported to a different land, imagining a different era, and you remain mesmerized by the seamlessly transitioning music with plenty of variations and fascinating new elements.

The blend of genres is immaculate and none of it feels even remotely forced or out of place. Truly, Et Moriemur may have created a new sound which they've only perfected over here. They remain in a league of their own, in competition with only themselves.

Czech brutal death metallers Cutterred Flesh return with brand new album on Transcending Obscurity

18/9/2021

Picture

There are many brutal death metal bands around and it's hard to find ones that have their own sound or are attempting to do their own thing. After a point it does get quite repetitive if not redundant and there's little that stays with you long after the onslaught is over. Cutterred Flesh here however are unlike any of those bands. Their approach is not only markedly different but refreshing. The songs often start deceptively and you're wondering how is this brutal death metal but then the music kicks in and you know it's all over. It's time to call the closest funeral home. Two songs are streaming on Bandcamp and our YouTube channel and even they may not be enough to give you a complete idea of the music on this outstanding album.

7. Knife Is Not The Enemy
8. My Favourite Bodybag
9. Progressive Body Adjustment (Bonus)

Defying all expectations, Czech brutal death metal band Cutterred Flesh give birth to an album that can be regarded as an anomaly in the style, an aberration for a band sounding this heavy and brutal. Their constant variations, shocking mood changes, and tempo fluctuations belie the impossibly wide girth and ponderous gait of this band. And yet, they’re nimble and inventive, deceptively fast and catchy, emotive and thoughtful, and will invariably pound your skull into the ground and mercilessly at that. The strange juxtaposition of the slower, plaintive tunes with the bone-shattering blasting parts is as fascinating as it is lethal - it will catch you off guard and won’t play nice.

It’s akin to a deranged psychopath killer showing overwhelming tendencies of remorse for his victims, but then killing them all anyway. It just has to be done. Cutterred Flesh aren’t fucking around; they mean business but the way they do it is revolutionary and extremely effective. This album is loaded with all the death metal riffs you need, all the diversity to not only set the songs apart but also keep things interesting, and that warm, comforting, bludgeoning heaviness that will put you to sleep, perhaps permanently. And you won’t see it coming. This is as good as a brutal death metal album can get being progressive without betraying its core sound and values.

Czech post doom metallers Indrid Cold have released their new music video "Číše Života" (directed and edited by: Luboš Stručovský), watch it here:-https://youtu.be/JPJf_eMzdKM

"Číše Života" (Goblet Of Life) is the second song from Indrid Cold’s recent album "Monument Prázdnoty" (released on June 1st via Sliptrick Records). The track is set to a music poem from the collection ‘Transformations of the Demon’ by Michail Lermontov 1831. It’s a dark melancholic anthem describing the illusory nature of this world.
"Monument Prázdnoty" (Eng: Monument of Emptiness) is the debut album from Czech post doom metal band Indrid Cold. The word emptiness means: “The field of boundless emptiness is what exists from the very beginning. You must purify, cure, grind down, or brush away all the tendencies you have fabricated into apparent habits. Then you can reside in a clear circle of brightness. Utter emptiness has no image. Upright independence does not rely on anything. Just expand and illuminate the original truth unconcerned by external conditions. Read more …here

Czech post-doom metallers Indrid Cold have signed with Sliptrick Records. The band formed during the fall of 2015 from ex members of the band Born Again. All the members of Indrid Cold were active in various other bands from the local metal and punk scene. The band’s name comes from the movie The Mothman Prophecies, based on the 1975 book of the same name. In the first years of their existence, the band recorded several singles and played many successful concerts in the Czech Republic.

At the end of 2019, the original singer left the band and so 2020 was a new beginning for Indrid Cold. With new found force, the band continues in a four-member line-up and wrote songs for their debut album Monument Prázdnoty.

In autumn of 2020, Monument Prázdnoty was recorded and produced by the band and masterd by Cult Of Lunas’s Magnus Lindberg at Redmount Studios in Stockholm. The album will be released worldwide via Sliptrick Records.

Indrid Cold are:

  • Pavel Peckl – Drums
  • Bedřich Vodvářka – Bass
  • Jan Špingl – Guitars/vocals
  • Luboš Stručovský – Guitars/Keyboards

Finnish Cello Metal veterans Apocalyptica release brand new video for 'En Route To Mayhem'

Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rock band Apocalyptica have released the video for ‘En Route To Mayhem’, which will transport the viewer to a fantastical post-humanity future. This imaginary world is barren, dusty, and littered with broken pieces of things once considered essential to humankind such as bits of plastic, a teddy bear, crumbling structures, cell phones and computers, bleached bones, and long-forgotten musical instruments. The setting is devoid of mankind, but brimming with the hope of new life; and then one day, thunder, lightning, and one drop at a time, it begins to rain, and Mother Nature steps in. Check out the ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video HERE.

Apocalyptica’s Eicca Toppinen comments:-

“‘En Route To Mayhem’ is a journey of hedonic needs growing into greed and aggression, driving into inner mayhem and ending without satisfaction. This video underlines the fact that however we think we are in control by destroying things and life around us, life itself will take over in the end, always. We are not in control of the bigger picture, and we should be aware of it and raise our respect to life around us.”

The ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video is in support of Apocalyptica’s upcoming album, Cell-0, due out January 10th, 2020 via Silver Lining Music. Produced by Apocalyptica – cellists Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso, and Paavo Lötjönen, and drummer Mikko Sirén and mixed by Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lana Del Rey, Metallica and Black Sabbath), and recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki.

The recording of Cell-0 followed a four-year break between albums that gave the band a fresh perspective and affected the way they approached the new music. Cell-0 is the quartet's first instrumental album in 17 years and found the musicians challenging themselves to discover new flavours and colours in their respective instruments. For Cell-0 pre-order options, go to this location.

Perttu Kivilaakso comments:-

“Cell-0 has a concept which is to challenge the listeners to question themselves and ask “Am I doing the best I can for the environment, for other beings? Is there still something I can change?”

To highlight environmental issues, the band wanted to ask fans to do something for our planet; so to coincide with the release of the new video, they have launched a very special competition, which will give fans the chance to win the opportunity for Apocalyptica to play in their living room.

To enter, fans will need to show the band how they are making the planet a healthier place for everyone. Fans can head to their Facebook page and comment with photos/videos showing what they are doing to help the planet and telling the band why they should be picked as a winner.

To find out more information, head to the band’s Facebook page. The online contest is open to all European fans from now and will close at 7:00 pm CET Friday, January 10th, 2020.  Full terms and conditions can be found here.

In concert, Apocalyptica are known for their moving live performances and will kick off the New Year as Special Guests on Sabaton's 15-country, 23-date European arena tour that begins on January 17, 2020 in Zurich, Switzerland. With a set list that will likely vary night to night, Apocalyptica's performances will be comprised of new songs from Cell-0 as well as from the band's rich catalogue. Tickets are on sale now; go to https://www.apocalyptica.com for all pre-sales, VIP packages, and ticketing details.
