Estonian progressive metallers Emphasis have announced the addition of vocalist Deniss “Bowrush” Burashnikov to the group's ranks. The band was founded in 2010 in Estonia and over 10 years it positioned itself as a female-fronted formation enriched by female singers Anet Vaikmaa (2010-2013) and Anna Ganina (2013-2020). Members of Emphasis admit that:- “Anna's departure was a real challenge for us that changed Emphasis completely from a musical point of view. After several musical experiments with jazz on our previous record "Soul Transfer" we decided to move towards art rock and ... now we're thrilled to announce our new vocalist - Deniss “Bowrush” Burashnikov (Asankheya, Metallicity). His voice timbre fits perfectly into the new material, as well as his natural poetic talent that went into writing the lyrics for the upcoming EP. Welcome on board, Denny!” The release of brand new EP “Spiral of Time” is scheduled for December 16 and will be available digitally. The forthcoming EP features 6 tracks inspired by space aesthetics. https://www.facebook.com/Emphasis.Estonia

Sad news from German thrash titans Destruction: After joining the band back in 2010, drummer Vaaver announces that he will be parting ways with the group in March after 8 years. His departure from the band is due to family reasons. Vaaver comments: "It is never easy to make hard decisions. It is time for me to part ways with Destruction - the band that has hosted me for nearly a decade; my brothers, my best buddies. Above all, these guys are great musicians that I have enjoyed countless performances with. 8 years with Destruction means more than words can describe. We shared the stage more than 500 times, travelled to the moon and back at least twice! It is time to drift my career towards more calm waters which surround my family. At the same time, Destruction needs to explore new exciting and challenging stages of their career. I would like to thank Schmier and Mike for giving me the opportunity to be a part of Destruction. I tried my best to enhance the band's sound and groove with my skills. I could see the fans' reactions around the world that came to the gigs and the signing sessions with tears in their eyes…just happy to see the band they had listened to since the beginning of the 80's. It has been a truly unforgettable experience! I wish you guys all the best. I know you will find the right replacement with the skills and dedication that you deserve for your incredible band. I am not quitting my profession either. It is just a change in life that we all sometimes go through and have to adjust to new circumstances. Hope we meet again one day or night on your rough Destruction seas! Thank you Schmier and Mike…!" To be clear, all shows will still be going ahead with Vaaver playing with Destruction until March. Randy Black, who already replaced him on his baby-break, will step in for the shows after March, until the band has decided who will be Vaaver's worthy successor. Schmier adds: "There is not much more to add in this moment of sorrow. We all know it really sucks to separate with people you cherish for reasons beyond control. So ‘family first’ is something we all have to accept. Vaaver was not just the best drummer we ever had and I don't wanna diminish the dignity of any of our old drummers here, but he also was a killer dude and a great friend. So yes, this really hurts…of course he will stay a part of our clan and the big Destruction family! Cheers for all those fantastic years, our paths will definitely cross again and all the best for your future, Vaavski!" www.destruction.de www.facebook.com/destruction www.nuclearblast.de/destruction Naples-based symphonic metallers Poemisia have announced their new violinist: "A huge "welcome to our family" to our new violinist Mariacarmela "Maca" Li Pizzi! She will perform in our next shows (oh yes, there is some great news coming up) as well in the future releases! We are very happy that she is part of the band. Wonderful musician and wonderful person. We found out that our minds are perfectly tuned together and we're sure that great things will come out!" This is what Mariacarmela wants to add: "Being a part of this project is like unleashing my deepest instincts. A great band and great people. Looking forward to play live!" The musical style of Poemisia is focused on sounds which combine metal music to opera and symphonic elements, which are also made by the light-lyric soprano voice of Tina Gagliotta. This duality leads to a tendency to mark the continuous conflict between darkness and light, between death and life, between Hell and Heaven, sometimes also in a peculiar grotesque way. This is fully reflected also in the lyrics which have always a refined nature. Currently Poemisia is working on new material for the follow up of their debut full length “La danza degli spiriti” (“The dance of the spirits”) which was released in 2013. https://www.facebook.com/Poemisia https://www.facebook.com/OfficialAlphaOmegaManagement |
