After one month of voting, nearly 6,000 votes cast and countless sharing across all social media platforms by us and nominees alike, the time has come to announce the winners of the GMA Awards 2019.
But before that happens, there will be a change to how the nominees are cast. For 10 months of the year we will be running a series of rounds from which the 10 finalists will be recognised for the annual event.
The system will work as thus: nominees elected in the month of January are voted for in February... February nominees voted in March, etc and finishes with nominees in October being voted for in November - the finalists will then be voted for across the month of December and into early January 2021; finishing 8th January 2021.
Now that's put out into the open, we can finally reveal the winners of the GMA Awards 2019.

Estonian metallers Emphasis have released their debut official music video for the song "Electric God". This video is about global digitalization and gadget addiction. The song is taken from the second studio album "Soul Transfer". However, this album is completely devoted to these two aspects of modern life. The video was shot in August 2019 in Tallinn and produced by Alexandr "Maiden" Korsak (Black Films).
Check it out here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9gcA_wC6WA&feature=youtu.be
Progressive metal act Emphasis was formed in 2010 in Estonia. They play kind of a mix of classical harmonies, heavy guitar riffs and powerful operatic vocals of gorgeous front lady Anna Ganina. For the last five years, the band played dozens of shows. Their debut full-length album "Revival" was released in spring 2016 under Italian label Underground Symphony and received a lot of positive reviews. The second 14-track concept LP "Soul Transfer“ was released worldwide in March 2018 on the label Red Rivet Records (Japan).

Canadian Modern Metallers Juliet Ruin premiere 'Fight To Win' lyric video and announce Jinjer support dates
Edmonton, AB's Juliet Ruin recently released their first full-length album "Old Stardust, Love and Chaos" on September 6, 2019 to follow their 2017 debut self titled EP. The release promises to be more technical with heavy instrumentation, including some dabbling in low tuned 7 string guitars to create an original sound chock full of catchy hooks that convey a fresh and emotive feel to their heavy music. Lead vocalist Jess Ruin has added more screams, but also more clean techniques with her pop-esque power vocals. Fans of forward-thinking modern metal such as Evanescence, System of a Down, and Killswitch Engage should take special note of this powerful and emotive Canadian band.
Teaming up with GhostCultMag.com, Juliet Ruin is excited to premiere their latest lyric video for the track 'Fight To Win' at the following link HERE.
The band adds:
"'Fight to Win' is probably one of the more unique tracks on the album. It begins softly and quickly changes pace, flowing into our most experimental vocals in the verses. FTW is a wordy and exciting track with an array of vocal styles. The verses of this one are special vocally because of creative on-the-spot thinking in the studio by Diego Fernandez. The last-minute change to make the verses more spoken the entire mood of the song different. FTW is an ode to owning up to a vengeful nature just to flaunt it proudly as a warning sign."
Digital stream and download of Juliet Ruin's debut album "Old Stardust, Love, and Chaos" is available on Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music, Amazon.
Music Video 'Spite' here.
Lyric Video 'Seasons' here.
In additional news, Juliet Ruin will be supporting Ukraine's Jinjer in Calgary on October 29th and Edmonton on October 30th.
The band adds:
"We as a band are absolutely honoured to be opening up for Jinjer, we are all fans and their meteoric rise has been a pleasure to watch."

Ukrainian modern metal frontrunners Jinjer have returned with a vengeance! Today, Jinjer turns heads with a new music video for the gut-punching anthem “On The Top”. Never failing to deliver an unforgettable hook, “On The Top” slinks along a punishing groove before soaring into melodic passages – just another example of what listeners can expect to be met with on the band’s upcoming full-length album, Macro, out October 25, 2019 via Napalm Records.
“While one is climbing, the rest is falling down in the name of profit – Is it lonely on the top?”
Jinjer:- says about “On The Top”:
“Have you ever felt like a rat in a rat race? It seems like the world is spinning faster and faster every single day and everyone is going crazy searching for this thing called success. However, we tend to forget that real happiness has nothing to do with it- not a career, achievements, money etc. Is it really worth climbing up the ladder just to be ON to the TOP if there is nothing or no one there for you in the end? It's OK to want to be the best you can possibly be but just remember that success has its price but it's up to you to decide how much you are willing to pay for it. It’s your choice to make but your burden to bare …”

"Love Exchange Failure", the consuming new full-length from Odessa, Ukraine-based post-black metal collective White Ward, is out now and streaming via Debemur Morti Productions.
Doused in poise, creativity, and dynamism, with Exchange Failure, the band channels Bohren And Der Club Of Gore, composer Angelo Badalamenti, and contemporary blackened majesty into an eclectic set of visionary hymns that fuse late-night metropolitan contemplation, psychological horror, intoxicating melodicism, and primeval, animal-state ferocity. The record blends brushed drums, reverberant piano, a variety of guesting clean vocalists, and neo-noir saxophone within an architecture of first-rate contemporary misanthropic black metal.

Diverse movements and tonal shifts interlink as if to mirror what the band describes as humanity's existential struggle "caused by the inability to understand who we are and what our place on this planet is;" a clash between dreamworlds and harsh reality evocative as the urban landscapes of photographer Luke Pownall used throughout the packaging. A truly essential listen, Love Exchange Failure is a record that, on repeat plays, opens up like a streetscape sinkhole to drag you into the degenerate heart of the city.
Further elaborates WHITE WARD of the offering:-
"The idea behind this album is to illustrate the artificial conditions people created to contradictory distinguish themselves to nature. Being neither a separate phenomenon nor a sustainable part of the surrounding environment, we've pushed ourselves to a constant struggle caused by the inability to understand who we are and what our place on this planet is. Conditions we create lead to a continually rising level of fear in the minds of individuals and at the same time - the lack of love. Under the term 'love' we mean not a feeling in its primitive understanding but a feature that helps us to live in harmony with ourselves, other people, and the world around.
The love exchange failure leads to an inevitable degradation and degeneration. The more hatred we push towards people around us, the deeper we fall. The blinder we are on our daily way to work, the more sufferings we leave behind. People don't have time to talk to each other. Furthermore, obsessed by desires, they don't even pay enough attention to their children, rising each new generation more exposed to mental problems. Blindness, indifference, and domestic abuse, bullying in schools, social rejection, and many other factors lead to many tragedies of mankind. Caused by individuals, they are our own crimes."

Ukraine's Doom/Death metal band Polynove Pole unveil a song from the upcoming album! Enjoy "Deceptive Reflections" right now:- https://youtu.be/Iu-N3lKOv9Y
Mix and mastering by "Morton Studio" (Kyiv, Ukraine).
Polynove Pole (eng. Wormwood Field) was formed in the fall of 2004 in Lviv, Ukraine.
After the first demo recordings in 2005, the band started to perform at local concerts, and then on rock festivals of western Ukraine and capital city Kyiv. In the beginning of 2008, the first EP “Pure Souls” was officially released, and at the end of the same year a full-length album “On Seven Winds” as well.
Due to active concert activity and selection of musician line-up, the band came to prominence as one of the leading groups of Western Ukraine. New songs of PolynovePole were represented in tribute-albums and collections of Ukrainian rock music. The band’s next EP, “Under the Cold Stone”, was released in 2009 and became the heaviest and the most melodic at that time in the discography.
Since 2010, a long pause has taken place in the history of the band. After taking time off, the band joined forces with new members and resumed work on new material. The band resurgence started in November 2017, with a new release, “On The Edge Of The Abyss”. Re-released on April 2018 by Moon records.
Polynove Pole delivered the record with lyrics that appeared in Ukrainian and English for the first time. At the moment band working on new album, Deceptive Reflections song from the coming album streaming now!
