Ålandic gothic metallers Lamori drop new single & video "Requiem"

22/11/2022

Picture

Requiem is Lamori's 3rd single taken from the upcoming album Neon Blood Fire, Requiem is a death hymn of epic proportions. Its majestic foundation is very much inspired by Tibetan Buddhist chants. Influenced by the poem A Carcass by Charles Baudelaire, singer Matias J. came up with the lyrics one cold winter night, after having witnessed the death of a swan on the frozen sea. It will take the listener on a journey both mesmerizing and macabre, with a very progressive approach to its musical structure. The song is the third single to be released from the new upcoming album.

  • Buy / Stream REQUIEM HERE
  • Download the MP3 HERE

Lamori has been developing their own take on the goth rock genre for over 10 years now. Combining gothic rock and metal with electronics and dark wave to produce their own neon-lit flavor. Founded in 2009 on the Aland Islands of Finland, the constellation has stayed unchanged – however, their sound is ever-evolving.

Neon Blood Fire, the band's fourth album to be released by Wormholedeath, will refine the soundscapes heard on the 2020 released Neo Noir, but also introduce completely new elements to the mix. This album will have some of the heaviest Lamori songs ever heard!

Portuguese gothic metal band Black Widows released their third single and music video 'Schizo' from their upcoming second studio album Among the Brave Ones which is set to be released on October 21st 2022 via Finnish Inverse Records.

  • Watch Schizo music video: https://youtu.be/BLdSXY3ygHQ

Vocalist / guitarist Rute Fevereiro comments:

"Schizo was chosen to be our third single. It's a more complex song that honestly represents well the darkest side of our album. This song is all about hypocrisy, the need of showing positive thinking and smiles regardless of what you're going through, to the extend of worsening our mental health. This song is specially focused on someone I used to know who is described in these lyrics. The music is the perfect marriage with the words professed. There are lots of clowns in the real world, showing smiley faces and yet they feel miserable. I'm sure you all know someone like this."

Norwegian gothic industrialists Gothminister will awaken your "Demons" with brand new music video

With his captivating debut ‘Gothic Electronic Anthems’ in 2003, Gothminister Bjørn Alexander Brem took the dark music scene by storm, unleashing a thunder of pitch-black magic. Powerful metal riffs march relentlessly arm in arm with huge orchestras and heavenly choirs, while the master himself reveals an astonishing range of vocal art: from the deepest gothic-dungeons up to the higher spheres of steaming rock. It’s the overwhelming combination of catchiness and darkness; a thrilling craft of composing within the marrow of gothic, industrial-metal and electronica, that became Gothminister’s trademarks ever since.

On October 21, 2022 Gothminister will release their new album, entitled "Pandemonium", via AFM Records. Following previously-released singles, "This Is Your Darkness" and the haunting album title track, today the goth and industrial metal ministers have premiered a brand new video to awake your "Demons"!

"This brand new single «Demons» has a mixture of some well-known Gothminister-elements like heavy guitars, a driving rhythm, growling melodic vocals and even an strange opera-lady singing," band mastermind Bjørn Alexander Brem comments. "When I wrote this song, I pictured a weird, dark club, a dancefloor taking off, lots of freaks on it, and the main character in this setting drinking in the bar while being chased by his inner demons - evil creatures literally coming out of his head."

The trilogy comes to a temporary end with Gothminister ’s third music video "Demons", as Brem explains: "In «Pandemonium» we saw the fall of the evil king and his city, and that a new king was born. «This is your darkness» seen Gothminister scouting from his watchtower while the army of dead was searching for new souls to conquer.  In «Demons», we go back in time, and discover that also the evil king in «Pandemonium» had a past himself as a normal man where he is challenging the cruel magic of his predecessor.

However, you should be careful fighting someone else’s demons - it may awaken your own…"

With tracks like “Devil” (Gothic Electronic Anthems 2003), “Monsters” (Empire of Dark Salvation 2005), “Darkside” (Happiness In Darkness 2008), “Liar” (Anima Inferna 2011), “Utopia” (Utopia 2013), the last single from the CD / DVD horror movie concept album which even reached the national finals of the Norwegian Eurovision contest, “Ich will alles” and “We are the ones who rule the world” which both entered the Top 10 of the German Alternative charts and brought thousands of fans together on a tour across Germany together with ASP, Gothminister has gotten a significant following all over the world through the years. New album, "Pandemonium", will make no exception. Slated for a release on October 21, 2022 via AFM Records, you can pre-order your copy at THIS LOCATION!

Belarusian symphonic goth metallers Bella Morte unveil new music video "Krew"

10/9/2022

Picture

Symphonic gothic metal band Belle Morte is proud to present their video for the single "Krew", featuring: Yaroslav Dzhus (bandura), Alex Pilkevych, and Ada Rusinkiewicz (vocals).

  • Buy / Stream "Krew" HERE

The idea of ‘Krew’ appeared in February. When the war began, we were completely devastated and heartbroken. As a Belarusian band, we have strong connections with Ukraine: we have relatives and friends living there, and in general, it was always perceived as somewhat native land to us. Moreover, Belarusian territory was used by the Russian army, horrific betrayal and burden of shame.

We decided to compose this song to reflect our complex feelings and search for some deliverance in art. From the very beginning, we had an intention to show the proximity of 3 languages and 3 cultures, so we’ve also involved Polish and Ukrainian singers Ada Rusinkiewicz (Hethet) and Alex Pilkevych to reflect their own perspectives and Yaroslav Dzhus to recorded bandura, traditional Ukrainian folk instrument. Everyone participating in this project had full freedom to express their feelings. Belarusian lyrics written by Brat K. are focusing on the common pain and grief we experience.

Ukrainian lyrics by Alex reflect on the time in the past when he used to live in Kiev, at the trail to notorious Irpin. In the Polish parts, Ada talks about the duality she’s experiencing in her country. There are a lot of fantastic, helpful people, who are doing their best to help Ukrainians but there are also a lot of insecurities and fear. In the screaming parts, Ada wanted to pay respect to people who are suffering in silence today. One day they will be heard and we hope it will stop trauma from growing.

The song’s title “Krew’ or “Blood” has multiple meanings. It’s about blood bonds that unite us, it’s about the blood of innocent people shed in this treacherous war.

October 21, 2022 see Norway's Gothminister release their new album, entitled "Pandemonium", through AFM Records. Following a previously-released, first single and music video for the album title track, today the goth and industrial metal ministers present a second track taken of their upcoming magnum opus!

"This Is Your Darkness" once again plays with the deepest primal fears of human beings - persecution, hopelessness and no chance to save oneself. This new album single takes up where "Pandemonium" left off. A drama in three acts. The Gothminister and his monsters are coming to get you!

"The aftermath of Pandemonium - or are we somewhere between place and time?" Band mastermind Bjørn Alexander Brem comments. "This Is Your Darkness is the 2nd of in all 3 videos telling the Pandemonium tale where the army of the undead keeps marching on looking for new souls to conquer in the evil kingdom, while Gothminister himself this time scouts from the watchtower and preaches from the book of evil. Chris Dead has teamed up with his drums from hell - but be aware, there is still a third story to tell!"

With his captivating debut ‘Gothic Electronic Anthems’ in 2003, Gothminister Bjørn Alexander Brem took the dark music scene by storm, unleashing a thunder of pitch-black magic. Vocalist/guitarist Rute Fevereiro comments:

"More than ten years ago, during a break with Black Widows and when I decided to think about my musical life, I made several songs. Among the Brave Ones theme comes from that period of creativity. At the time, it didn't have that name but it awakened in me a sense of resilience and freedom. When I proposed this theme for us to work on as a band, Black Widows liked it and improved it substantially, giving their input as musicians. Among the Brave Ones was the name given to this theme and the album. This song is about our band returning stronger and more powerful than ever . It honours the brave artists and has many musicians guests promoting our video, as you will see. Are you ready for what's to come?"

American modern metallers Oceans Of Slumber release video for 'The Hanging Tree'; new album “Starlight And Ash” out now

Welcome to the New Southern Gothic.

Friday 22nd July marked the release of "Starlight And Ash", the long-awaited 5th album by Oceans Of Slumber. Equipped with a profoundly deep musical background, a staunch reverence for the American South, and starry-eyed artistic curiosity, Oceans Of Slumber have created a sonic expression like no other.

Starlight And Ash isn’t a mere compilation of songs, but it comes with an underlying concept, Cammie Beverly (vocals) comments:

“The album Starlight and Ash is scenery and stories inspired by characters, settings, and themes from the band’s (traumatic) childhood experiences. These encounters are woven into the lives and tales of individuals in a fictitious community living on the Gulf Coast.”

Check out the video for 'The Hanging Tree' to dive further into the storyline. “An old childhood home, a frequently visited spot along the meadow, a closet we pass in our grandmother's house, a tree in the town centre that has scars from its terrible past...places hold memories and they never forget them even when buried under the changes of time”, says Cammie Beverly about 'The Hanging Tree'.

Make sure to (re-)visit 'The Lighthouse (Official Video)', as both cinematic videos, that were directed by Angela Herr and Bianca Greene for FirstSight Agency, are conceptionally connected.

Picture

Fronted by the inimitable power, range, and grace of vocalist Cammie Beverly, Starlight and Ash posits Oceans Of Slumber in a league of their own. This is as much eloquent extensions of famed singer-songwriters Nick Cave and Chris Stapleton as it is the heart-breaking pulse of Type O Negative and Katatonia. Starlight and Ash isn’t Metal, but its edges are. The album was produced by Joel Hamilton (Violet Road, Battle of Mice) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Yes, Voivod). Its stunning artwork was created by Eliran Kantor (Testament, Heaven Shall Burn and many more).

The band previously released 3 videos for Starlight and Ash that can be viewed here:

Norwegian gothic industrialists Gothminister release music video for brand new single, "Pandemonium"

Now, the Norwegian industrial metal act has surprised them with an epic music video for a brand new single!

"Pandemonium" takes us back to the new gothic era around 1880 AC, where we find the city and kingdom of Gothminister under attack from its own inhabitants. The old, mighty and evil king, played by Gothminister himself, faces chaos and uproar among his own. The band mastermind reveals:

"A lot of the scenes in the music video were recorded in an old gothic church, «Jakobs Culture Church» (Kulturkirken Jakob) in the city centre of Oslo, Norway. The church was built in 1880 and in 1980 the bishop of Oslo wanted to tear it down. The church was saved and preeeved by the Directorate for Cultural Heritage, and is now home for rock and metal concerts every weekend."

"«Pandemonium» is one of the heaviest but also one of the longest songs Gothminister has ever released. We are excited to see what the fans think about this new sound. In a time where TikTok and other social media channels promotes music snippets lasting only a few seconds, we wanted to do the opposite by introducing the new album with a more than 5 and a half minute long opening track…"

One can be sure, the new Gothminister single creates a hunger for more, and a new album slated to be released on October 21, 2022 through AFM Records.
