Grind / Crust / Death Metal fiends Medium have unearthed another beautiful song via Decibel Magazine. They're keeping it fresh by infusing a variety of influences and also adding a tinge of melody to the proceedings. Check out the song that's premiered AT THIS LINK. "a short and snappy ripper that jams a lot into a little. Medium’s blend of death metal and crust with hardcore and even hints of black metal is a straightforward tune with enough melody and punk undercurrents to make it stand out from the legion of HM2-wielding bands" Rage-fuelled adrenaline junkies Medium give us their own fresh take on the grind/crust style with their self-titled debut. Their approach is not very conventional; there's something unique in the way they blend the best qualities of genres like grind, crust, punk and even death metal and hardcore to make music that's virtually unforgettable. There's palpable energy coursing through the entire album, with each song showcasing a slightly different dimension of the band's own sound. The dark and emotive undercurrent lends to the music a human quality that is not rooted only in aggression like most others in the style; streaks of melodies shimmer through the chaotic blasting parts and leave an indelible effect on you. This is some of the best, honest-to-goodness grind/crust music that you'll come across in this era, and the most commendable part of it all is that this is from a band from Argentina trying their best to make a mark - the talent is undeniable but the effort and intent is exceptional. Band lineup - Lucien - Vocals/Bass Rama - Drums Fede - Guitar Seba - Guitar

Long running Polish grind/crust band Means Of Control have just signed a deal with Selfmadegod Records to release their second full length! The newest album includes 13 songs of fierce grindcore influenced by classic bands of the genre like early Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Defecation, Righteous Pigs. “Cena zbawienia” was recorded sometime in 2017 in several studio locations like Sound Division Studio, Noise Art Studio and Komoda Studio while Arkadiusz "Malta" Malczewski (Behemoth, Azarath, Decapitated) mixed and mastered entire material. “Cena zbawienia” is now available on CD and digital download through Selfmadegod Records. You can listen to “Robactwo” song at the label’s SoundCloud profile or YouTube channel. Means Of Control started back in 1992 in Radom, Poland playing crustpunk with some grind parts influenced by Concrete Sox, Heresy, Doom, Righteous Pigs, Defecation, Assuck. After 20 years of activity the band released their debut full length. Several years later with some new members and more grindcore sound the quintet recorded second one entitled “Cena zbawienia”. https://pl-pl.facebook.com/MeansOfControl/ www.selfmadegod.com www.facebook.com/selfmadegod www.selfmadegod.bandcamp.com www.instagram.com/selfmadegod_records www.soundcloud.com/selfmadegodrecords www.youtube.com/user/SelfmadegodRecords Shadow Kingdom Records has set November 23rd as the international release date for Blackrat's highly anticipated third album, Dread Reverence, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats. One of the underground's best-kept secrets, Blackrat have been skilfully skirting the often-fine lines among metal-punk, thrash, crust, and traditional speed metal. Formed in 2012, this Canadian power-trio to date have delivered two cult full-lengths, 2013's rough 'n' rowdy Whiskey and Blasphemy and 2016's far-more-epic Hail to Hades, laying on the line exactly what Blackrat's all about. Big fans for years, Shadow Kingdom had no other choice but to scoop up the band, and now they've arrived with their ultimate statement: Dread Reverence. More metal, more punk, darker, catchier, wilder and more finesse, just more of MORE: Dread Reverence is the sound of Blackrat firing on all cylinders. Wrapped in a rough-yet-clear production that allows the dirt to bleed and the chrome to glisten simultaneously, Dread Reverence positively explodes with a timelessness that's impossible to deny. It's as fresh as 2018 and as old as 30 years before that (if not more!), and it's all done effortlessly and without any trace of self-consciousness. Simply, this is who Blackrat are and what they do, and they're doing it better than ever - and better than just about anyone around. Plus, there's faint traces of death-rock that surface across the album, underlining further that the band are in a league of their own. Up from the gutters and into the graveyard, Blackrat hereby bring you Dread Reverence! In the meantime, hear the new track "Into the Ebony" HERE at Shadow Kingdom's Bandcamp, where the album can be pre-ordered. www.facebook.com/blackratattack www.blackrat.bandcamp.com www.shadowkingdomrecords.com www.facebook.com/shadowkingdomrecords Polish act Dom Zły release their new single off their self-titled debut EP. The title track is streaming now exclusively via Echoes & Dust. Dom Zły is out on 13 October 2017 through Unquiet Records. Listen to “Dom Zły” now: http://echoesanddust.com/2017/09/exclusive-track-premiere-dom-zly/ Dom Zły was established in late Autumn of 2016 in Puławy, Poland. The inner need to express oneself about everyday realities surrounding us was the main reason for starting this project. The climate of the music is the result of the band members’ common fascination with alternative music and its broad horizons, inclined more towards the heavier or extreme side. Dom Zły is the crust vision of a degenerated world, condemning the existing order. The project consists of members of bands such as Kaldera, Hidden World, The Feral Trees, Weedcraft, Panacea and Words Mean Nothing. Danish Crust / Hardcore / Post-Black terrors Hexis announce new EP and share first song "Nefarius"13/9/2017 Only five months after the release of their last album 'Tando Ashanti', Danish Hardcore / Crust / Post Black Metal terrors Hexis will release a brand new EP called 'XII' coming out on September 29th for 10' vinyl & Digital through Division Records (Closet Disco Queen, Papertank, Process Of Guilt, Unfold…), Moment Of Collapse Records (Cranial, Heaven In Her Arms, Meraine, Red Apollo, etc,..), Crown & Throne Ltd (Primitive Man) et Truthseeker Music (Howl, Human Future, Yards…). On this new 5 songs EP, Hexis strikes harder, hit faster and takes no prisoner. These guys are not doing a sort of post black metal hipster shit, goddamn no. They are actually the best representation of what black metal has to be in 2017: fierce, relentless, uncompromising, dangerous & wicked. Their style is still firmly rooted in a sort of hardcore urgency, but the atmosphere on this songs is so thick that you’ll somehow find yourself walking in a forest, surrounded by deep fog, unable to see anything, but clearly hearing the wolves all around you. This EP is the real deal if you’re searching for pure darkness In the meantime, the band unveiled a few days ago a first excerpt from this upcoming effort with "Nefarious" available right now on Bandcamp. For the record... Denmark, 2010: the idea of creating a hardcore black metal band emerged in the mind of Filip, actual singer and leader of Hexis. His goal was to give birth to a band playing "as dark and heavy music as possible and go on crazy amount of tours around the world and release tons of different records". And it has been successful. Indeed, Hexis’ music is as scary as thrilling, as introspective as explosive and gives an idea of what addiction to darkness could be. To satisfy it, Hexis plays about 200 gigs per year. Among all these gigs and the thousands of kilometres swallowed, Hexis has released 10 records in 7 years, including 3 EP's, 4 splits (w/Primitive Man, This Gift is a Curse, As We Draw, Euglena and Redwood Hill) and 2 full-length albums (Abalam and Tando Ashanti). Hexis is not just music, it is a way of life, a mindset, and every note that reaches your brain will prove it. BAND LABEL Facebook | Bandcamp Website / Facebook / Twitter Greek hardcore crew, Sarabante, has issued a track from their incoming second LP, "Poisonous Legacy", which is set for release through Southern Lord in June. Tune in and hear the band take their tense, foreboding sound found to new lows, mirroring and capturing the anguish of their native country in the track "Mass Grave." Stream Sarabante's "Mass Grave" at THIS LOCATION. The gripping, lamenting melodies of the guitars on "Poisonous Legacy" define the album's sound, and speak volumes about Sarabante's world view. Eloquently miserable harmonies soar then hammer down on the listener, constantly seeking nervous and reverberating moments to amplify and meld into their modern crust motion, involving copious amounts of righteous d-beat and clarity amongst the crunch. Few have done it so well since the advent of Tragedy and His Hero Is Gone, and Sarabante is undoubtedly creating their own approach with impressive, aggressive songwriting, and forceful momentum. Their meticulous attention to mournful atmospheres is maintained across the twenty-six minutes, filling "Poisonous Legacy" with rampaging passages and brooding breakdowns, and making the record a thrilling and powerful statement from Sarabante. After forming in Athens in late 2006, the Summer of 2011 saw Sarabante release their first album "Remnants". The LP was released by Sara Records, the band's own label, followed by a limited edition CD by Southern Lord. This was followed by an Eastern European tour and numerous local live shows, as well as 2013's Έρμαια Των Καιρών / Under The Shadows, a 7" EP via Man in Decline Records. Heavily influenced by oppression and trying to withstand the ongoing crisis in their home country Greece, Sarabante's new music is forged in times of extreme austerity, which has without doubt blackened their focus. As a result, the music on "Poisonous Legacy" is darker, filthier, more straightforward, and more destructive than we've heard before. Featuring grim artwork by Karouk, "Poisonous Legacy" was mastered by Brad Boatright (Sleep, Nails, Obituary) and will be released on vinyl and digital through Southern Lord, June 10th.
