_ Awa (far right) sadly departs Lordi but on a good note,
Lordi’s longtime keyboardist Awa will leave the band. She will be seen on stage for the last time at Simerock in Rovaniemi, Finland on August 11, 2012 when Lordi will be celebrating the band’s 10 year anniversary. Awa joined the band in 2005 and her first Lordi album was the international success record "The Arockalypse". Awa has played altogether on three Lordi studio albums. Awa’s successor, a new keyboardist of the band, has been selected already. The keyboardist will therefore be playing on the band’s next studio album, which is planned for early 2013. Awa will not be heard or seen on the next album or on the next tour. The characters and character names of the new keyboardist and the drummer will be revealed together with new masks and outfits before the release of the band’s next studio album. Awa tells about her decision as follows: ”Playing in the band has been an incredible experience and clearly one of the best times in my life. I have always been very fond of Lordi, its music and image, and will surely be following news about it closely. The band and the crew were and will always be a second family to me and I will be missing them and our fans greatly. However, seven years in the band has been physically and emotionally very demanding. You have to be in a band like this 100%. If you are not able to do that anymore, you have to let go and give space for something new.” “I want to emphasize that I am not going to leave music or making music, because music is the most important thing to me in life. I am on a creative break now, but have several new ideas already. You will hear about them if and when the time is good. I also believe that I can still be seen behind the keyboards some day,” she continues. The leader of the band, Mr. Lordi states: “We have been discussing this behind the scenes for quite some time, but nobody knew that this year would be this kind of a year of changes for Lordi. Of course you always believe and wish your current line-up would be permanent and final, but these are not issues of faith. Situations change, things happen and plans are renewed. All the rest of us in the band wanted her to go on with us, but we also understand her decision and respect that. We know that this decision was not easy for her either. It took a long time to come to this conclusion.” “We agreed already earlier, that she will not participate our next album studio sessions. In this case she would have had to hang out with us for the next couple of years. Naturally it would have not been fair to her, to the band or to our fans, “ Mr. Lordi says. __(Left to right: MYLES DECK, IAN CHAINS, JASON DECAY)
Canadian heavy metallers Cauldron have revealed their new, permanent drummer as MYLES DECK. Myles spent much of his life living and playing in bands in Halifax, Nova Scotia, including blackened thrashers Hellacaust, as well as fronting a Detroit-style punk rock outfit called MYLES DECK AND THE FUZZ. He replaces Cauldron's former drummer, Chris Steve. Bassist and vocalist Jason Decay comments: "Rather than just grab the next available drummer, we wanted to take our time this time and make sure we found the right guy, which we're pleased to announce is Myles Deck. Myles moved halfway across the country from Moncton, New Brunswick, which shows his dedication. He's also into a lot of the same bands as us and understand our vision and goals. He's also tall so we won't have to prop him up on a stool for band photos! We wish Chris Steve all the best with his new band Old James (heavy Skynyrd), and would like to thank Chris Rites for helping us out again with the new record." MYLES DECK adds: "I was vacationing in Moncton, New Brunswick, catching some rays on the shore of the Petitcodiac when I got 'the call'. I love the kind of music that makes you wanna bang your head or thrust your hips. I'd seen Cauldron a handful of times and they made me wanna do both. So I sold most of my belongings and moved up to Toronto to play drums for this great band. I'm absolutely chuffed to be playing with Cauldron and look forward to spending many gruelling hours in the van and studio together." Recently the band went into the studio with photographer Nana Simelius to shoot the new pictures for the upcoming album.
Commented the band: "Looking for the photographer for TIME I we went through many photographers' portfolios, but looking at Nana´s portfolio we instantly knew she had that extra something that would fit well with our new mix of oriental and traditional winter styles. She was very inspired with our ideas so we were really happy to work with her. We drove down to Turku (200 km away from Helsinki) where the photoshoot took place in her studio. We were shooting all day and the result turned out to be amazing, thanks to Nana's talent and vision, but also her stylists and assistants! We aimed for a magical winter and oriental look and we think we succeeded perfectly." Time _ 2012 marks the 10th year in the career of Swiss “New Wave Of Folk Metal” pioneers Eluveitie! The long out of print landmark album can be purchased through the following link: http://bit.ly/meljerus
Commented guitarist / singer and mainman Ashmedi: "Finally available for legal downloading. Our debut album from 1996, "As Jerusalem Burns...Al Intisar“ means a lot to me, it was recorded with next to nothing budget in the city of Jerusalem and all the odds were against us, at the time no one paid attention to black metal being made in the holy city, with time we changed that. We recorded it live to tape so this means we all played at the same time without any breaks in the songs so no room for corrections or to remake one particular part. If we felt there was one little mistake we would re-record the whole song all over again, I think this gave it a sense of authentism. So for now it is available as a digital format and that’s it. Hopefully we will also make it availed on vinyl for the first time. Furthermore one day we perhaps might license it on CD for re-release. The music is raw as we intended it to be with hints of middle eastern music. This is Melechesh more than 15 years ago though half of our sophomore album "Djinn“ was written then.“ _ Serpentine Path is gearing up to unleash their suffocating debut full length on September 11th via Relapse Records. Pierce takes some time out from his hectic touring schedule to show Bruce Moore with Brutally Delicious on ifood.tv how to bang out his favorite recipe for Cheese-Stuffed Hamburgers.
Watch Pierce cook and talk about everything from the God Forbid writing process for their current album, "Equilibrium", to his experiences while touring world-wide. Fans can see how with a little soul and a lot of meat, greatness is made! Recipe: Ground beef - 1 Pound Garlic - 1 Tablespoon, minced Horseradish - 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce - 5 Dash Gouda cheese - 1 Small (cut into 1/16 in size cubes) Hot Sauce - 1 Dash Salt - 1 Pinch Pepper - 1 Pinch Directions: Place all your beef in a large bowl and add one tablespoon of the garlic and horseradish. Add a liberal dash of the Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce. Mix well, by hand. Cut the Gouda cheese into small cubes about 1/16 in size, then split the beef into individual and equal patties around 6 oz. each. Depress and roll the cubes of Gouda into each patty and fold inward. Try not leave the cubes of cheese exposed. Season the patties with salt and pepper on each side and make a depression with your thumb in each burger. Now brush with oil lightly and cook on medium high heat to high heat (depending on your tastes as far as rare or medium). You want to cook the burgers anywhere from 3-6 minutes a side. Place on buns and add whatever vegetables and or condiments you see fit. Enjoy! Catch God Forbid on the Trespass America Festival going on now and stay tuned for more updates.
