Spanish modern melodic death metal outfit SynlakrosS have just released a new music video in the live session format, with the song 'Okami', included in their new album “0K4M1” which was released internationally last April through Blood Blast Distribution (Nuclear Blast). Check it out here:- https://youtu.be/EWO0nOe0U1w Being a thematic album, each song tells us a moment in the life of the half-human, half-alien creature called 0K4M1. This song, 'Okami', tells us the story that takes place when 0K4M1 reaches maturity and they begin to worship him as a god. The god of death. They start calling it Okami, which means wolf in Japanese, due to its fierceness and ability to kill. The video was produced and recorded by Guillem Sampedro at Novo Estudios, the same place where the band recorded this album; recorded and produced by Facundo Novo. Soon they'll release a new live session, with the song 'Stardust', included in the new album “0K4M1”

Following up on their latest comeback single 'Into The Night', modern metalcore outfit City State brings forward a new track 'Dead Sun', a plethora of masterful riffs with ambient and melodic elements. Lyrically, the song is about processing trauma, about how even routine things can seem wrong after you’re deeply harmed by someone, and how it can seem impossible to overcome. 'Dead Sun' is out now on various music streaming platforms via Famined Records. Hailing out of Andorra, the five-piece outfit is known for the creation of rich soundscapes and technically precise work that sets new standards in modern extreme progressive metal. Founded in 2001, Persefone has released five studio albums, each one showcasing the band’s myriad of musical principles: high technicality, distinct melodies, plenty of head-turning riffs and musical acrobatics. The band has toured worldwide with notable acts like Obituary and Leprous, and has hit the stages of important festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Metal Days, Brutal Assault, ProgPower and 70,000 Tons of Metal. For their previous albums, the band collaborated with producers such as Jens Bogren (At The Gates, Haken, The Ocean), Logan Mader (Gojira, Periphery, Once Human) and Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Epica). Recently, Persefone finished recording their sixth studio album, which will be released in early 2022. The album is mixed by David Castillo, who has worked with genre greats like Leprous, Soen and Opeth, and mastered by Tony Lindgren (Enslaved, Ihsahn, Sepultura). Persefone comment on the signing:- "We are excited to announce that we have signed a worldwide deal with the renowned label Napalm Records. Since we started working on the new album, we knew we wanted to bring this whole experience that is Persefone to a new level. Teaming up with Napalm Records will allow us to reach a new stage we couldn’t get to otherwise and we can't wait to show you all what we’ve been working on these last few years. Stay tuned for more announcements about our new album and tours coming up! The amount of hours and resources we have put into this release is way beyond any other album we have ever conceived. We have put the question mark on every little detail - from the writing process to the very last production element. Also, the commitment David has shown during this whole process definitely shows in the final sound of the album as it sounds huge, powerful and very organic. For us, every new album means a new challenge to surpass and this particular one has been no exception. For the first time ever we couldn’t be happier with the result. Much love.” Sebastian Muench, A&R at Napalm Records adds:- "Persefone's album ‘Aathma’ is unquestionably one of most creative and inspiring progressive metal albums of the last decade! Having eagerly listened to some of the new songs, fans can expect another masterpiece! I am looking forward to working with Persefone and the Welkin Entertainment Management around Tim and Rahul. Welcome to the Napalm family!" The album’s release is planned for early 2022. Stay tuned for more news! Persefone is:
Persefone online: The Danish metalcore quintet Wolves Among Us are positively known and recognized for their ability to cleverly and smoothly combine the heavy with the pop-ish. They are now back and ready with the first single 'Calamity', from their coming second album ‘Hollow Gloom’: Guitarist Rune Bohnstedt muses:- “'Calamity' is the perfect image of a dystopian relationship and the realization of how it's better to sometimes give up and move on. It was important for us to capture the right atmosphere to really set the mood on this song. The hard hitting guitars and vocals combined with the ambient theme is meant to really emphasize this. Wolves Among Us are getting ready to release their second album, which has been produced and mastered by Chris Kreutzfeldt (Cabal, Daze Of June, Ghost Iris). The quintet has been working on this album for quite some time, which has resulted in kicking it up a notch when it comes to quality and ambition. The coming album ‘Hollow Gloom’ will be released on November 19 through Prime Collective. The first single 'Calamity' is already available on all streaming services - here https://orcd.co/calamity Evanescence's video for "Use My Voice" from the band’s highly-praised album, The Bitter Truth, has been nominated in the Best Rock category at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. The track which was released around the 100th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage was used as a voter-registration anthem by non-partisan voter information service, HeadCount ahead of last year’s election. You can watch singer Amy Lee talking about their involvement on CBS This Morning. Watch “Use My Voice” HERE. The video was directed by film-maker Eric D. Howell, for whose 2017 film, Voice From The Stone (Emilia Clarke) Amy Lee wrote the end title. Howell also directed the music video for Evanescence’s current Top 10 Rock Radio hit, “Better Without You”. Lee said of "Use My Voice:" This is an era of awakening, and full of powerful beauty. I hope to inspire others to seek truth, find their own voices, and use them as I step up to use mine. Don’t let anybody speak for you. Only you can do that”. Vote for Evanescence HERE ahead of the September 12th awards show. This marks the second consecutive year that Evanescence has been nominated in Best Rock when “Wasted On You,” self-shot by the band during last year’s COVID quarantine, also notched up a nomination. For both nominations, Evanescence has been the only female-fronted band in the category. Having recently signed a worldwide deal with Century Media and entering the single charts all over the globe with their Eurovision single ‘Dark Side’, Blind Channel – rising new metal stars from Finland – release their equally beguiling follow-up single, ‘Balboa’. The powerful Eurovision predecessor, with more than 40 million streams to date, set the bar incredibly high. But ‘Balboa’ is easily an equivalent triumph, striking another hammer blow to further establish Blind Channel’s very own brand of ‘Violent-Pop’. Towering guitars, feral screams and alluring anthemic choruses all collide together in an explosion of pure power; a bold offering, clearly stating that Blind Channel are just getting started. The band comment:- “Balboa is a reminder of who we are - who we have always been. It’s a violent pop show-off about getting back up again and again, no matter how hard you’ve been hit. It’s us sticking to our vision without compromise. Underdogs are a dangerous species. This is a call to arms to every hard- working dreamer out there, and the soundtrack of our career so far. We keep coming back.” The release of the new single is also accompanied by a spectacular music video, which filmed in a boxing gym, lives up to the promise of title. Watch the video for ‘Balboa’ HERE. Blind Channel were formed in 2013 in the city of Oulu, way up in the North of Finland, by a group of five talented, determined and ambitious friends – vocalists Joel Hokka and Niko Vilheim, drummer Tommi Lalli, guitarist Joonas Porko and bass player Olli Matela. This fivesome has stuck together to this day, in the spirit of the 2018 second album Blood Brothers, each of them collectively responsible for the songwriting. Last year saw the addition of a new member, as long time friend Alex Mattson joined to play keyboard, samples and percussion and completes the current line up. Following the release of their 2020 album Violent Pop, ‘Balboa’ is the band’s latest taste of music from an upcoming album due for release early next year, working with renowned UK producer Dan Lancaster (Blink 182, Bring Me The Horizon, Don Broco). With Bloodstock 2021 well under way, the festival is thrilled to already be looking ahead and announcing a swathe of bands for the 2022 event, which is set to take place on 11th-14th August 2022 at Catton Park, Derbyshire. Headlining one of the days (tbd) on the Ronnie James Dio main stage will be mighty groove metal overlords, Lamb Of God! Frontman Randy Blythe tells the festival that:- “It’s been way too long since we’ve rocked the festivals of Merry Olde - what better way to announce our return than a headliner slot at Bloodstock? Until then, pack your wellies and stay safe, England - Lamb of God (and Roger Brilliant) will see you Summer 2022!” In the meantime, remind yourself of their awesomeness with this video of 'Walk With Me In Hell' from their 2013 debut Bloodstock headline set. Saturday's main stage headliner will be the previously announced, King Diamond-fronted, heavy metal icons Mercyful Fate, who roll over a year after global issues prevented their appearance at this year’s festival. The band states:- “Mercyful Fate comes to Bloodstock…this will be a dangerous meeting you don’t want to miss. This time we are going to bring the Devil himself.” Also landing main stage slots across the weekend are Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals playing their Pantera set, Dimmu Borgir, Testament, Exodus, Black Dahlia Murder, Gwar (in a UK festival exclusive), Bury Tomorrow, Sacred Reich, Life Of Agony, Butcher Babies, Vio-lence and Bloodywood. Maori metallers Alien Weaponry unite fans worldwide in new music video for "Buried Underground"8/8/2021 New Zealand's metal stars Alien Weaponry recently announced the highly-anticipated upcoming release of their essential sophomore album, Tangaroa, out September 17, 2021 via Napalm Records. Now, the band invites fans to come together in a worldwide "stomp" showdown! Recently, the band united international fans in lockdown by asking them to submit a video of themselves performing a signature "stomp" and star in the official "Buried Underground" music video. Today sees the release of both the track and official video - so now you can join the fun at home or wherever you are! Show Alien Weaponry your stomp! Make sure to hashtag #AWburiedunderground and tag the band for a chance to have your stomp shared with the world via the band's social media! Alien Weaponry are poised to dominate with Tangaroa. The album coalesces the band’s growing maturation with an undisturbed songwriting process, resulting in their most inspired, honest and informed material yet. Tangaroa is immersed in important historical accounts and cultural heritage of the Māori people – in addition to lyrics written in te reo Māori, many tracks feature traditional instruments, called taonga puoro, providing the tracks their own warrior-like attitude. Rhythmic, dynamic album opener “Titokowaru” begins with determined rowing chants and depicts the tale of a famous war chief that challenged the colonial government in New Zealand and led a rebel army, backed by quick riffage and driving drums. Following standout “Hatupatu”, inspired by the harrowing, legendary tale of a de Jong ancestor facing off with a witch, is carried by frenzied guitars, spirited chanting and tribal-like percussion. While Alien Weaponry sourced inspiration from their culture and environmental surroundings while writing most of Tangaroa, the band also looked inward – drawing vision for other portions of the album from within. The album dives into some of their most effecting personal experiences, with English-language songs like the pensive “Unforgiving”. Accented by personal touches like its entrancing album art originally conceptualized from drawings by Lewis de Jong, Tangaroa is a massive next step for a band on the rise, encompassing all of the elements that make Alien Weaponry heavy metal’s most authentic rising stars.
