New Zealand global metal frontrunners Alien Weaponry have been touring around the world nonstop since the 2021 release of their acclaimed sophomore album, Tangaroa, out now via Napalm Records! Spreading vital messages of peace, awareness and warning through the power of their culturally-driven music, Tangaroa proves a massive next step for the band – encompassing all of the elements that make Alien Weaponry heavy metal’s most authentic rising stars.

Following the release of their three previous Tangaroa music videos for "Tangaroa", "Buried Underground", and "Hatupatu", today, in anticipation of their winter and early 2023 performance plans supporting both Guns N' Roses and Gojira, Alien Weaponry have dropped an official video for none other than their album closer track "Down The Rabbit Hole". The track extends an important proclamation against bullying through the eyes and experiences of frontman Lewis de Jong.

Lewis de Jong says about "Down The Rabbit Hole":

"This was an absolute blast to film! 'Down The Rabbit Hole' represents the growth I've experienced throughout my life and putting to bed demons from the past. The video captures the meaning well - the broken objects representing said demons. It’s the rough times in life that make you who you are, as long as you rise above it."

American modern metallers Vended unveil new single 'Ded To Me', prep EU tour & Bloodstock festival

18/7/2022

Picture
L to R: Connor Grodzicki (rhythm guitar), Simon Crahan (drums), Jeremiah Pugh (bass), Griffin Taylor (vocals), Cole Espeland (lead guitar).

Des Moines’ firebrands, Vended have revealed another incendiary new single, 'Ded To Me', ahead of their first ever UK and European dates.

The five-piece tell us; “This song is unforgiving and uncompromising. We are back and better than ever. This is a straight fuck you!”

Next week, the five piece will cross the pond to mainland Europe for their debut European shows, kicking off in Bucharest, Romania on 20th July. In August, they will find themselves on UK shores for their first British festival, opening the Ronnie James Dio main stage at the UK's biggest extreme music fest, BLOODSTOCK on Sunday 14th August. They will then play headline shows in London and Bournemouth before continuing their touring back out in mainland Europe.

Vended continue; "We’ve spent the past year playing shows, touring, releasing music, and meeting fans in the U.S. Now it’s time to start world domination and hit Europe with the same energy. Hope you're ready, here we come…!"

Late last year, the band dropped a duo of singles ('Asylum' and 'Burn My Misery') ahead of their 5-track debut EP, ‘What Is It / Kill It’, which arrived at DSPs on November 12th. The much-acclaimed collection was recorded with Griffin Landa of The Acacia Strain. The two singles bookended their first US headline tour, after which the band went on to open the day's proceedings at the huge Knotfest Los Angeles show at the Banc Of California Stadium, playing alongside  Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon, Killswitch Engage, Fever 333, Code Orange and Cherry Bombs.

Vended‘s fresh and furious sound heralds a new era of heavy music and the arrival of the next generation of brutality. Formed in February 2018 by Cole Espeland (lead guitar), Griffin Taylor (vocals), Simon Crahan (drums), Jeremiah Pugh (bass) and Connor Grodzicki (rhythm guitar),  Vended showcase a barbarous sound built on foundations laid by the power and precision of the rhythm section, layered with vicious guitars, soul crushing solos and guttural-yet-melodic vocals portraying the hardships and harsh realities of life.

Stay tuned for more coming from VENDED very soon. In the meantime, catch them live at any of the dates below. Tickets available at OfficialVended.com.

Scarlet Aura have become a staple in the European metal scene with their powerful live shows and crushing heavy metal. After touring internationally with artists like Rhapsody of Fire, Tarja, Beast in Black and Soto, releasing critically acclaimed albums and gaining steady followers on all channels, Scarlet Aura are now set to release their fifth album “Stormbreaker” and just shared the album’s cover art, tracklisting and release date with their fans for their anticipated new album.

The brand-new album “Stormbreaker” features the previously released single track ‘High in the Sky’ which debuted live during their summer tour.

Check out the music video ‘High in The Sky’ as first single from the new album “Stormbreaker” here https://youtu.be/xg-4sWp_QzY

The new album “Stormbreaker” will also mark the official release of the second fantasy book volume from the same trilogy. Scarlet Aura continues the conceptual “The Book Of Scarlet Trilogy” showing who they are through the musical and the lyrical part. The new album and book release date are set for 27th of March 2020.

  10. A Blast From The Past
  11. Scarlets United

Aura, the front lady, states:-

“As an artist I`m not afraid to dig into the unknown by approaching sensible subjects in our songs, subjects like the difficulty of being honest with others but also with yourself regarding your own feelings, the need of overcoming a huge sufferance that troubles you, the lack of courage when it`s about doing the right thing, the lack of love or the crying for it… subjects that make ourselves human, subjects that are in each one of us and that makes us who we are and maybe throughout our music, we get recovered, healed or better, we discover ourselves for who we really are because with any doubt music heals the spirit, metal heals the heart.

And so Stormbreaker was born and got the fantasy clothing as the second album from “The Book Of Scarlet” Trilogy which became without even knowing in advance, a journey, a process of getting our true self out there through this unique process of enjoying the combination between metal music and fantasy literature. The release album concerts will be true shows of spark in which we`ll use the amazing prop that will give you the goose bumps of the Scarlet world so join us, let`s make this 2020 tour into a sold out one, it will be definitely worth it!“.

Guitarist Mihai adds:-

“Stormbreaker continues the heavy metal statement we started with Hail To You and although “The Book Of Scarlet” trilogy takes these albums into a fantasy world of discovering Scarlet, I think we`ll all realize after listening that actually Scarlet is in each one of us. Stormbreaker comes rough, it comes straight forward, it comes in your face with the powerful rhythms, edgy guitar riffs, almost psychedelic guitar solos, hard crunchy bass lines, modulations and surprises at every step not giving you the time to get bored but to want more after every song, all of us exceeding even our own expectations. After I finished the production for Stormbreaker I was surprised of our evolution, I think it`s the best album Scarlet Aura had so far, I think it comes with the fresh sound and approach the heavy metal stage needs, I`m proud of how far we`ve got and  I hope you`ll be too by coming to our shows and supporting the band.  Can`t wait to see you out there!”

Dr. Tatyana Shubina, Managing Director of Silver City Records points out:-

“Eastern European countries and particularly Romania haven’t brought many metal bands on the international metal music radar, making with Scarlet Aura a beautiful exception also by their sparkling and full of energy fronted female singer, by their message full of light, by their powerful sound, unique guitar solos, song writing and the fantasy behind all this. Scarlet Aura in one word? Exceptional!”

The album was recorded in Bucharest at Silver City Studio and written, mixed, engineered and produced by Mihai Danciulescu, founder and guitar player of Scarlet Aura, with lyrics written by Aura Danciulescu. The album and the book will be released by Silver City Records, the band's own record label.

Accompanying the announcement of the release, Scarlet Aura will kick off a European wide tour in spring 2020 that will lead them through Germany, Switzerland, France, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Austria, Romania and Bulgaria.

Canadian Modern Metallers Juliet Ruin premiere 'Fight To Win' lyric video and announce Jinjer support dates

Edmonton, AB's Juliet Ruin recently released their first full-length album "Old Stardust, Love and Chaos" on September 6, 2019 to follow their 2017 debut self titled EP. The release promises to be more technical with heavy instrumentation, including some dabbling in low tuned 7 string guitars to create an original sound chock full of catchy hooks that convey a fresh and emotive feel to their heavy music. Lead vocalist Jess Ruin has added more screams, but also more clean techniques with her pop-esque power vocals. Fans of forward-thinking modern metal such as Evanescence, System of a Down, and Killswitch Engage should take special note of this powerful and emotive Canadian band.

Teaming up with GhostCultMag.com, Juliet Ruin is excited to premiere their latest lyric video for the track 'Fight To Win' at the following link HERE.

The band adds:

"'Fight to Win' is probably one of the more unique tracks on the album. It begins softly and quickly changes pace, flowing into our most experimental vocals in the verses. FTW is a wordy and exciting track with an array of vocal styles. The verses of this one are special vocally because of creative on-the-spot thinking in the studio by Diego Fernandez. The last-minute change to make the verses more spoken the entire mood of the song different. FTW is an ode to owning up to a vengeful nature just to flaunt it proudly as a warning sign."

Digital stream and download of Juliet Ruin's debut album "Old Stardust, Love, and Chaos" is available on Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music, Amazon.

Music Video 'Spite' here.
Lyric Video 'Seasons' here.

In additional news, Juliet Ruin will be supporting Ukraine's Jinjer in Calgary on October 29th and Edmonton on October 30th.

The band adds:

In 2018 they made their international debut travelling to Japan in support of Ensiferum, Trollfest and Wind Rose.

Masterful Norwegian storytellers Wardruna sign to Sony Music/Columbia Records for the world, and announce European tour dates for 2020. Dates below with tickets going on sale on 11th October at 10am BST, 11am CEST. Details of the upcoming album shall be revealed in due course.

Einar Selvik comments:

“Wardruna has been a DIY to-the-bone kind of project since the very beginning. Slowly and patiently evolving. Working hard and always keeping the art itself as the primary decisive factor. This will never change for me, and so having people on our team that also embrace this way of working is paramount. Partnering up with Sony Music / Columbia Records is a new steppingstone for us and I am very confident that this new addition to the team will give us new opportunities to further develop our art and take it to the next level.”

2019 marks ten years since Wardruna’s first release. A series of sold out shows at prestigious concert venues around the world culminate in the highlight of the fall; Wardruna will perform in the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater in the United States, followed by sold out European tour. The group's critically acclaimed “Runaljod” trilogy based on the Nordic runes reached its conclusion and was followed by a stripped-down, fully acoustic album exploring the ancient poetic traditions of the Skalds. This spring, a new chapter for the band will start. New music is being worked on as well as further steps in the band´s concert production.

“I don’t wish to reveal too much at this point but can say that we are now deep into the process of writing and recording a new album. When Wardruna gets up from the current studio-hibernation and initiate the concert-year of 2020, it is clearly allowed to hope for new music!" Says Einar Selvik.
