Tool has won a GRAMMY Award® for Best Metal Performance (“7empest”).
Danny Carey (drums) and Justin Chancellor (bass) accepted the awards at today’s Premiere Ceremony in Los Angeles.
“7empest” is from the band’s fifth studio album: Fear Inocolum (RCA Records). The 10-song collection arrived in late August, debuting at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200. Critically, the album was met with equal enthusiasm. NPR said “Fear Inoculum was worth the 13-year wait,” The Atlantic dubbed it “precise and devastating,” Revolver declared it “a masterpiece that will be dissected for years to come” and Entertainment Weekly said the collection is “deeply satisfying, both as a distinct artistic statement and as accidental fan service to a base that expects nothing less than unflinchingly unique artistic statements.”
The Los Angeles-based band has previously won three GRAMMY Awards®: Best Metal Performance (1998, “Ænima”), Best Metal Performance (2002, “Schism”) and Best Recording Package (2007, 10,000 Days).
Tool formed in 1990, and have released five studio albums: Undertow (1993), Ænima (1996), Lateralus (2001),10,000 Days (2006) and Fear Inoculum (2019); two EPs: 72826 (1991) and Opiate (1992) and the limited-edition boxset Salival (2000). TOOL is Danny Carey (drums), Justin Chancellor (bass), Adam Jones (guitar) and Maynard James Keenan (vocals).
Just days away from kicking off their North American tour, Wednesday 13 and his boo crew have debuted a new lyric video for the latest single, 'Monster' (Feat. Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil) from their recently released album, 'Necrophaze,' that is available now from Nuclear Blast Records.
Watch the lyric video for 'Monster' here: https://youtu.be/FE_m7Ya9c6s

“'Monster' is the 1st Wednesday 13 song recorded to feature guest vocals. I wanted something different than I had ever tried before and I wanted a female vocalist. Cristina was the perfect choice for this song. I gave her the lyrics and some minor details, and she came back with what you hear. She totally floored us with her amazing vocal range and adding a new element never heard on one of our songs before.” – Wednesday 13
“This collaboration was born from blackness. Wednesday and I are both fans of the darkest vision of art and music, and when I was asked to sing with him for the song 'Monster', I immediately visualized his concept and shared it with pleasure. What I love about this song is that some people in life are taking the worst out of us... but demonizing it all and pushing away the tension through notes is the best thing to do.” – Cristina Scabbia
Wednesday 13’s 8th studio album, 'Necrophaze,' is available now from Nuclear Blast Records. Featuring special guest appearances from, Alice Cooper, Roy Mayorga (Stone Sour), Alexi Laiho (Children Of Bodom), Jeff Clayton (GG Allin’s Murder Junkies) and Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil) among others, 'Necrophaze' shocks and surprises with a cauldron of monster riffs and haunting lyrics and have listeners yearning for more.
Heavily influenced by real-life night terror occurrences of Wednesday himself, historical serial killers, and a slew of 80’s horror films, the ideas behind 'Necrophaze' are bizarrely familiar, frightening, and a hell of a lot of fun. Being a collector of both media and toys, Wednesday 13 was inspired by a craving for variety to create dual album artwork for this release (seen below). The covers showcase either end of the horror spectrum with a 'Creepshow' comic book vibe for the LP artwork, and the eeriness of something akin to John Carpenter’s 'The Fog' adorning the CD.

The quintet says:-
"We are delighted to present you our second single 'Sea Of Lies'! In our humble opinion, the track mirrors the album really well. The old-school vibe, the heavy as hell approach and the growling yet melodic moments showcase the evolved WITCHES of 2020! The lyrical content deals with very personal events that took place during 2019, when there was a lot of challenges around the band. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!"

Slovakian metal monks Malokarpatan reveal the cover art to their highly anticipated third album, Krupinské ohne (The Fires of Krupina). The album will be released on March 20th, 2020 on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats via Invictus Productions once again in conjunction with their US allies at The Ajna Offensive. The band will be performing a release show with Cult of Fire on March 21st in Prague. In conjunction with the international release of Krupinské ohne, vinyl reissues of both Stridzie Dni and Nordkarpatenland will also be available.
The artwork for Krupinské ohne (The Fires of Krupina) was created by Matúš S. Ďurčík, AKA Svjatogor, a graphic designer and artist from Slovakia who was chosen to represent the historical themes throughout the new album. Says guitarist Adam of the artist and artwork, "I wanted to work with Svjatogor already when having the album concept set, as his personal style works wonderfully with the historical topic of the record and gives it a feeling of an old book rediscovered after gathering dust somewhere within lost archives. He perfectly understood the tension between the dreamy idyll of a pastoral world and the sinister, nightside elements of folklore that always lies at the heart of our work." Svatogor's artwork can be viewed HERE as well as HERE.
Malokarpatan's new album will be available on gatefold LP (on regular black vinyl and limited dark-orange vinyl), jewel-case CD, and cassette along with represses of the first two albums and will be available for pre-order at midday (CET) on Friday, December 6th along with an exclusive, limited-edition wooden box-set titled Trilógia ludového desu, which features all three full-length albums on vinyl with a metal pin, patch, and t-shirt. There are 85 color-vinyl box-sets and 85 black-vinyl boxsets available only from Invictus, shipping worldwide. Boxsets and Krupinské ohne (The Fires of Krupina) will ship to customers in early March in time for the new album's release. A track from the album will be published shortly to satiate your hunger for more Malokarpatan!

Kansas City Heavy / Groove crushers Dreams In Peril are proud to present the band’s first ever video clip titled ‘Neckties and Nostalgia’.
With a sound that brings through the pummelling drive of acts such as THE ACACIA STRAIN, ARCHITECTS and DEFTONES, the band balance massive hooks alongside atmosphere and dynamic, introducing a single that defines the sound of the band’s debut album "MePhobia".
Check out the video for ‘Neckties and Nostalgia’ at this location.
The video clip was produced by Paper Anchor Media and offers an insight into the bands background and the struggles they have faced in suffering for their art. Bassist Dalton Collins offers:-
“The song is about overcoming one's failures and issues, no matter what issues or failures one faces. To us as a band, the song is about what we have faced as a band and individuals to get where we are today”
The new single also marks the introduction of the band’s new vocalist Mike Yeager who joined Dreams In Peril earlier this year. Commenting on the journey so far, Mike states:-
“In the short time since joining this band and telling them not to cancel anything after firing the previous singer, I had three weeks to learn all of the material, within six weeks I was recording the single and two months later, I was filming a video. I am being exactly what this band hired me to be – an unstoppable juggernaut!”
Having shared the stage with acts such as VEIL OF MAYA, THE ACACIA STRAIN, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME and BORN OF OSIRIS, the video clip is a step forward between an active live performance schedule and preparation for the bands next album which is being written right now.
