Newly-staffed Thrash Metal engine Nervosa releases their explosive third single, “Under Ruins”, cut from their upcoming full-length album, Perpetual Chaos, to be released this Friday on January 22nd, 2021 via Napalm Records. As a harbinger of their new record, Diva Satanica’s powerful and aggressive vocals draw the listener into the heavy vortex of Nervosa’s pure energy. Along with an official music video, the new track highlights the difficult topic of a homeless child left to survive on the streets. Nervosa’s upcoming longplayer Perpetual Chaos marks the beginning of a new era whilst also underlining their straight-forward lyricism and style: From political grievances and amplifying the voices of minorities to protesting against factory farming, capitalism and succumbing to the ill-informed musings of social elites - these commanding women do not mince words. Enter a thrashing world of destruction and be a part of the next generation of Nervosa! Guitarist Prika Amaral comments: “It was a wonderful experience with these girls, they are all very talented and did an excellent job, I have never been so happy with the final result of a record. I chose Artesonao studio in Malaga, because it is isolated and in an extremely beautiful place, we worked hard but we had the best vibe between us.” Watch the official music video for “Under Ruins” HERE Pre-Order the new album Perpetual Chaos NOW! Vocalist Diva Satanica on the album process: “It was undoubtedly a very intense process in every way. Not only did we learn to work together, but also to get to know each other and live together. I am very lucky to be able to be part of a project like this and I am sure that with the release of this album, Nervosa will take a very important step in its career. Working with Martin Furia was incredible, he helped me to find nuances in my voice that I didn't know I had. Get ready, for a new era more powerful than ever!” Guided by a marvelous force of uncompromising thrash and death metal, the raw power of Perpetual Chaos has its finger on the pulse of time: Lyrically, Nervosa does not hesitate to tackle issues that impact the very core of society as we know it. Tracks like the airtight opener “Venomous”, the fast-twitching “Until The Very End” and “Time To Fight” prove that Nervosa’s revitalized identity experiments with both fresh new elements and crucial auditory foundations without succumbing to any clichés. “Genocidal Command” perks ears with Diva Satanica’s vocal eloquence, accented by the outstanding range of Schmier (Destruction) whilst mirroring a rousing thrash metal manifest. A tremendous outcome awaits with brawl-brushed guitar lines, blisteringly fast drums and critical lyricism – striking the listener in a way only Nervosa could. Viva Perpetual Chaos! NERVOSA are:

Architects are thrilled to share 'Dead Butterflies' - the third single to be taken from their forthcoming ninth studio album 'For Those That Wish To Exist'. Accompanying 'Dead Butterflies' is a breathtaking music video, filmed at the legendary Royal Albert Hall in London, in November last year. The groundbreaking Royal Albert Hall performance was streamed live on November 21st, garnering critical acclaim, and setting live-streaming records for the genre. NME gave the performance a perfect 5/5 score, calling Architects "a band at the peak of their talents” and stating that “on the basis of these new songs, they’re heading somewhere remarkable indeed." Watch the video for “Dead Butterflies” HERE “Dead Butterflies” follows previously released tracks “Black Lungs” and colossal single “Animals,” both of which have amassed 18M+ streams and 8.2 + YouTube views. Additionally, “Animals” was on BBC Radio 1 playlist for six weeks in the row.
On 'For Those That Wish To Exist', Architects tackle the biggest questions facing the future of our planet with their grandest, most expansive sonic offering yet. On the self-produced record, the band build upon the band’s hallmark post-metalcore and layers a burgeoning influence of electronics and orchestral strings, horns, and choirs. The result is a rich tapestry that transcends the limitations of genre and rewards exploration and immersion in its journey. The record’s 15-tracks hang in a limbo between energising positivity that it is not too late to correct our collective course and paralysing negativity of defeatism; where hope and despondency are bed-fellows triggered daily by the simple act of existence. A reflection of human condition, 'For Those That Wish To Exist' calls for all of us to rise to challenge established models and strive for a collective betterment. Such concerns that have long been prevalent in the music of a band who have continually championed and shared their platform with causes such as Sea Shepherd, are outspoken critics of barbaric exercises such as fox hunting, and who focus on sustainability in everything from their touring to merch production. Watch the video for “Laboratory” today via Toilet Ov Hell at https://toiletovhell.com/premiere-aversed-laboratory/. Drummer Jeff Saltzman states that: “‘Laboratory’ turns self-reflection and actualization on its head, discussing the consequences of ignoring and exploiting the natural world for our own gain regardless of its spiritual or intellectual benefit. In this interconnected world, we sow the seeds of our mechanized destruction if we only look inward rather than aim to help others." “Laboratory” was inspired by Saltzman’s own time working in a biology laboratory and its effects on the world outside of the lab. “Despite our cutting-edge research, we weren’t helping a soul. What’s the point? ‘Laboratory’ is my criticism of the pursuit of scientific progress just for the sake of progress.” AVERSED’s Impermanent is set for release on March 19. Mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Agonist, Shadow of Intent), Impermanent illustrates AVERSED’s unique approach to songwriting with nine diverse compositions full of catchy hooks and vast melodies. Pre-orders for Impermanent are available now at https://aversed.bandcamp.com/merch. In addition to the album, a variety of bundles are also available, as well as a brand new t-shirt design. AVERSED offered fans a glimpse of the album last month with a video for the title track. Watch the video for “Impermanent” now at https://youtu.be/mVqdIzCtqxM. With the release of Impermanent, AVERSED presents a metal experience cultivated of unprecedented beauty and torment. The third release following 2011’s self-titled EP and 2016’s Renewal EP, Impermanent marks a turning point for the New England scene veterans as they pivot from melodic death metal towards a nuanced balance of blackened and orchestral melodic metal. Crypts of Despair from Lithuania are playing an evolved form of death metal that's rooted in the old school style but are surprisingly dark, dissonant and blackened sounding on this one. The way they went about incorporating these elements is astounding and it's seamlessly done. Sink your teeth into this fantastic slab of death metal that's likely to be a contender for the best death metal album this year. Two songs are currently streaming that you can check out on Bandcamp and YouTube. Death metal band Crypts of Despair have made a quantum leap from their well-received debut full length to the new one. The progression is not merely aesthetic but intrinsic; it's as if they've unlocked some inner beast by channelling diabolical forces through them. The music is at once ferocious, rife with unearthly and dissonant sounds, punctuated by hair-raising, eerie ambience. It embodies the perfect combination of face-melting aggression and electrifying atmosphere, with song structures remaining unpredictable and yet strangely coherent. The sound is absolutely pristine, able to express the band's penchant for playing fast, devastating music as well as doing justice to the myriad variations that they incorporate. This is the perfect death metal album of the times, without any dilution of the raw appeal of the genre. The execution is next level and it's an album that you will keep coming back to just because it has so much to offer in a refreshing manner. Delve deep into this one and the experience will be unforgettable. Band line-up -

Band links: Join the prophetic aura of the blue orb and dive into the sombre twilight of a cinematic metal ode: Finland's Dark Sarah unveil a beautiful live version of “Melancholia”, taken from their astonishing fourth studio album, Grim. Released in July 2020, this beguiling new dimension, coalescing between crystal-clear vocals and propulsive hardness, draws you into the tempestuous maelstrom of their horror fantasy theme. Following previously-unveiled live videos for “Aquarium” and “Iceheart”, “Melancholia” marks another highlight of Dark Sarah's album release show, where they played Grim in Helsinki back in August 2020. With this breathtaking performance the five-piece pulls its listener straight into another dimension while satiating the need for live experiences that are missed so much these days! Watch the mythical live video for “Melancholia” NOW! Heidi’s vigorous, yet melancholic soprano-like voice suffuses the rough soundscapes and merges with an irresistible narrative. With the help of a blue orb, the protagonist of the song, Luna, gains the magical power to see her past, helping her to reflect all occurrences and unveil the truth of why her heart had been frozen. Heidi Parviainen states: "'Melancholia' is a dark (and maybe the saddest) song on Grim, yet it is also very powerful. In my opinion, it also contains the most beautiful guitar solo of the album. 'Melancholia' is the name of a blue orb which provides magical powers to the protagonist Luna. In the song, Luna sees into her past through the orb and learns what has happened to her. She lives through her longings and loneliness once again." DARK SARAH is:
Join DARK SARAH online: Progressive sextet Emphasis has released a music video for "Regulus", the opening track from the band's lately released EP "Spiral of Time". The video was taken by Estonian photographer Aleksandr Kljuchenkow and captures the beauty of the stunning Nordic nature. "Spiral of Time" was released on December 2020 and features 6 tracks produced by guitarist of Emphasis - Pavel Korotaev at Stone Oil Studio (Kiviõli, Estonia) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The band announced their collaboration with six guest musicians, including famous Estonian jazzmen Tanel Ruben (drums) and Siim Aimla (saxophone, flute). Emphasis is a 6-piece experimental progressive rock band with heavy metal roots and classical jazz touches. The band was founded in 2010 in Estonia by guitarist Pavel Korotaev, bassist Katya Gritskova and keyboardist Vsevolod Tselepis. Over the years, the band has released 3 studio albums and played many live shows across Baltic countries and Finland, sharing the stage with such artists as Arkona, Kobra and the Lotus, Mayan, Testament, Cryptopsy, etc. In 2020, the band took a decision to change the set towards progressive rock and Deniss "Bowrush" Burashnikov joined the band's ranks as a frontman. Following an earlier peek behind the scenes at the making of their latest record “Strangers”, Israel's Scardust provides their fans with another glimpse behind the curtain via their latest clip, “Mist”. The video and song, which tell a complementary story to their recently released clip for “Break The Ice”, can be viewed on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/Ad5QYwZ-_Ts Vocalist Noa Gruman explains: “'Mist' is the closing song of 'Strangers' and the parallel to 'Break The Ice’, which opens the album. Now the protagonist has been through experiences that shaped her to become more confident in a way that is less dependent on others. Every relationship we have has a potential of experiences and memories that may or may not happen if the relationship continues. Even after many years, some sides of those we know best are still unfamiliar to us, so what might happen if we go and part ways?” In other exciting news, Gruman was recently announced as a lead vocalist on Therion's new record, “Leviathan” (Nuclear Blast). This is just the latest in a list of impressive recent guest vocal appearances, which also include Amorphis' 2018 record “Queen of Time”, Orphaned Land's 2018 album “Unsung Prophets and Dead Messiahs” and Ayreon’s recently released “Transitus”. “Strangers” – which can be streamed on all major digital platforms or purchased on CD and limited-edition gray smoke vinyl at https://smarturl.com/scardust2020 – is a unique concept album built of complementary song pairs working from the outside in. Several recently released music videos, which can be seen at www.youtube.com/Scardust, further demonstrate the degree to which different tracks from the album are thematically connected. Mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Devin Townsend, Arch Enemy), “Strangers” was written and composed jointly by Gruman and composer Orr Didi, who also collaborated with Scardust on their full-length debut “Sands Of Time” and their 2015 EP “Shadow”. The album features guest appearances by acclaimed German folk musician Patty Gurdy, the Hellscore choir (Orphaned Land, Amorphis, Ayreon) and England’s prestigious Westbrook Hay Prep School Chamber Choir. Israel’s leading progressive metal group, Scardust has performed at such major festivals as Ramblin’ Man Fair (UK), Metaldays (Slovenia) and Midi (China). In addition, the band hosts the annual “Scarfest” event in their home country, where they’ve also appeared alongside the likes of Therion, Epica and Symphony X.
