Late last month Irish death dealers Overoth released their second full length The Forgotten Tome via Hostile Media. With no less than ten tracks and over 40 minutes of extreme metal laden with orchestration, and artwork from none other than Will Simpson (Game Of Thrones, DC Comics), the quartet’s grand opus has seen praise from fans and the metal press the world over. “If there was ever a perfect example of what death metal is, I would have to say that this would be it.” said one writer from Mayhem Music Magazine, while Dayal Patterson of Metal Hammer stated, “The Forgotten Tome is, above all, a very ambitious album, carefully constructed and not afraid to draw from different sources in order to create as powerful a sound as possible.” New York based writer Matt Bacon recently published on his website that “The Forgotten Tome is perhaps the UK’s best death metal offering to be,” while Paul Castles posted on Antichrist Magazine that the album was a “frostbitten steamroller with the blastbeats descending form the heavens like meteors, while further barbed wire riffage ensures hostility levels remain racketed up the max”. Today the band has teamed up with Overdrive to reveal the second video from the album, a track entitled ‘God Of Delusion’. Watch the video here: http://www.overdrive.ie/overoth-unveil-god-delusion-video-watch Filmed by Adam Edgerley and edited by Chris Bevan, ‘God Of Delusion’ was filmed in a dying wood in County Down, Northern Ireland. “It was a real nightmare of a location to get to,” states the band. “The wood itself was quite dense, so there was no chance we’d get our vehicles close to the location we had scouted, so with nothing but manpower we had to lug all our gear, generators, lights, camera gear, up and over hills, over streams and dead tress… they were everywhere… and it was a little sketchy at times, because we were surrounded by these massive trees, that with not much force would and were falling over. Needless to say, we all got out alive.” Catch Overoth Live! The track hails from the band's highly anticipated new mini-album, Rotten. Dead. Forgotten, set for international release on October 13th via W.T.C. Productions. "Night of the Witch" can be heard HERE. It's been two years since the release of Tortorum's critically acclaimed second album, Katabasis, and in that time, ubiquitous drummer Dirge Rep has amicably departed the Norse black metal vanguard's ranks. Bloodied but unbowed, the trio saw fit to record an all-new mini-album, bearing the ominous title Rotten. Dead. Forgotten. This title is prescient, and wholly descriptive of the six-track record's contents. Moving at a slower, more methodical pace, Rotten. Dead. Forgotten. stomps forward with a hideous energy that literally feels DEAD. Like a reanimated corpse or malignant spectre, the Tortorum of Rotten. Dead. Forgotten. has turned a new and no-less-harrowing page here, largely leaving behind the orthodox speed of their massive first two albums and striking upon largely unexplored terrain where space and shade are blackened to a crisp and are patiently pushed forward with a palatable sense of maturity. Then again, the fire of old does occasionally ignite across the mini-album's six, comparably more stretched-out tracks, suggesting that the future is wide open for this equally surprising/dependable band. And like always, Tortorum are no strangers to the stage, and will soon be defiling them across Europe with a sound that's truly Rotten. Dead. Forgotten. Witness the first stench exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine. After Exalter and Armament, Carnage Inc. are the newest thrash metal band on the block and their flair is different. Using local flavour to spice up the sound, this band's music is vibrant, energetic and adrenaline-charged. 'Fury Incarnate' is the band's first foray into the international space and they've got the chops for it, evidently. Each song has its speciality, incorporating influences from punk, crossover and local themes to create an album unlike other, one that's refreshing and not relying too much on the tried-and-tested template. Though undeniably old school, Carnage Inc. breathe new life into the style and show others how it is to be done. Watch out for this band that's bound to leap out and devour the posers.
