German metal quintet Half Me have released their new single 'Half Me' via Arising Empire. Formed in Hamburg Germany in 2018, the band - guitarists Chris and Julius, vocalist Chris, drummer Max and bassist Tobias - are one of the newest additions to the Arising Empire roster.
The band comment - "We are incredibly proud to share our new single 'Half Me'. This very personal song portrays our most quiet moments to date. It paints the protagonist's final descent into madness and the ultimate manifestation of another persona within their own self. 'Half Me' is as much a total surrender as it is a bonding ritual. You are invited to find out what happens after the ”Wraith” storyline." Watch the video to previous single 'Wraith' here: https://youtu.be/3tPGtDtItJs In the space of just two years, the band have made an impact in the music scene by self producing their music and videos, displaying their intensive and energetic demeanour. Debuting with four singles initially, it was their their single 'Exitwound' (featuring Jack Bergin of Void of Vision) that gave the group a breakthrough and landed the band in the spotlight of Knotfest’s Countdown to Oblivion. Musically, Half Me blend a modern rendition of metal and hardcore with highlights of 90s nu-metal. Pounding riffs and breakdowns are accompanied by brutal, yet sometimes elegant, vocals that all balance together to formulate the band’s own distinctive sound. Riding the high of their recent success, Half Me have sights set on releasing their highly anticipated debut album in 2022. Half Me will support their label mates in The Oklahoma Kid on the Tangerine Tragic Tour across Germany this autumn alongside Liotta Seoul. Bombastic. Defiant. Intense. Seething Akira continue to rampage forward with their gloriously turbulent nu-metal sound. Hot off the editorial success of their last album "Dysfunctional Wonderland" and with scheduled appearances at the Heavy Music Awards 2022 on June 5, Download Festival on June 9, and TECH-FEST on July 1st, comes the band's fiery latest single "Punishment Instructions." "'Punishment Instructions' expresses all facets, whether that be positive or negative, of hope, wish and desire," states Seething Akira. "The message expresses the loss of hope due to the uncontrollable actions of others. Punishment Instructions are the side effects of when these immoral actions are resisted." "Punishment Instructions" is a hard-hitting metal track that exemplifies everything fans love about the band. As the song's thought-provoking lyrics examine the effects of trying to resist when others are trying to strip all hope away from you, the heavy rhythms, featuring aggressive guitars, coupled with the aggressive vocals, only add fuel to the rebellious firestorm that is Seething Akira. Warning: This single may induce the urge to jump into your nearest mosh pit. Listen wisely, and use as directed. "Punishment Instructions" is out now from independent multi-genre music label FiXT. Explosive. Bombastic. Defiant. Intense. Seething Akira have developed a gloriously turbulent sound that is uniquely their own. Founded by vocalists Charlie Bowes and Kit Conrad, Seething Akira are a 6-piece electronic nu-core band hailing from the seafront city of Portsmouth, UK that have been tearing venues apart across Europe with their powerful fusion of genres since 2012. The band's first full-length album, "Sleepy Skeletor", dropped in 2018 and made it clear that Seething Akira would be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come. In late 2020, the band launched a series of new singles leading up to their second album, the highly anticipated "Dysfunctional Wonderland". With the strength of the band's music and their popularity with fans rocketing skyward, they connected with electronic rock label FiXT and forged a partnership for their future releases. Seething Akira has been featured on the Rock Hard Spotify editorial list, while their single "Firepower" landed on Kerrang Radio and Scuzz. "I Am The Devil" and "The Islander" were both featured on BBC Introducing, and "The Islander" premiered on Soundsphere Magazine. At home and on the road, Seething Akira have also put their stamp on staple festivals such as Bloodstock, Victorious, Camden Rocks, and many more while touring with bands like The Qemists and The Algorithm. The band dropped the latest album "Dysfunctional Wonderland" in late 2021 and plan to begin releasing new singles in mid 2022. Following the release of their highly anticipated studio album Requiem via Loma Vista Recordings in February, Korn shares a new video for the next single "Worst Is on Its Way". The Craig Bernard and Culley Bunker-directed visual shows the band's high energy performance of the song in greyscale as individual members of the band are decomposed into animated particles with a series of visual effects. The 9-track album features the hit single "Start the Healing," which peaked at #1 on the Active Rock chart, in addition to the previously released tracks "Forgotten," which Rolling Stone described as "explosive" and "Lost In The Grandeur," which dropped as a final taste of Requiem just a few days before the record's release. Recently described by GQ as "bold and iconoclastic" and released to high acclaim including recent features on the covers of Revolver and King Kong magazines, Requiem is produced by Korn and Chris Collier. Energized by a new creative process free of time constraints, the band was able to do things with Requiem that the past two decades haven't always afforded them, such as taking additional time to experiment together or diligently recording to analogue tape - processes which unearthed newfound sonic dimension and texture in their music. Additionally, Korn is slated to take their live show across a worldwide run of headline festival and amphitheater tour dates kicking off this summer and running into the fall. The extensive tour begins with a headline performance at Daytona Beach's Welcome To Rockville festival before kicking off EU/UK dates in Amsterdam on May 25th. The tour will see stops in Berlin, London, Stockholm, Budapest and more before returning stateside for dates in Denver, Charlotte, Dallas, Boise and others. Upcoming UK Live Dates June 12th - Download Festival, Donington Park Connect with Korn: Instagram | Twitter | Facebook | Website Finland are looking to repeat history as they eye up their second Eurovision Song Contest victory. Their entrant this year is Blind Channel, a band that have been sprinting past milestones and crushing their rival’s records with their enormous anthemic entry ‘Dark Side’. ‘Dark Side’ has become a #1 smash hit on the Finnish singles chart and has remained in the top 10 airplay charts for over 10 weeks, with the song now reaching platinum. Is metal going to bring Finland the gold yet again? Listen to the song here and watch the official lyric video here. It was written as a reaction to the global pandemic that forced the music industry to a grinding halt, synonymously crushing all the band’s 2020 touring plans. Frustration, isolation and depression gave birth to an anthem for the people, and the Eurovision Song Contest has proved to be the perfect vessel to spread their message. Niko Vilheim, one of the band's two vocalists shares his thoughts:- “What we really needed at that low point was an anthem for ourselves, a song that gives the finger to life itself. That’s how ‘Dark Side’ came into life. It really was an instant anthem. ’Dark Side’ is a song that’s meant to be performed together with an audience, as a kind of communal experience. Now we needed to find that audience, and we knew that there were lots of people out there who felt exactly like we did.” After entering the track into the UMK (Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu = New Music Competition), the Finnish qualifying round for the Eurovision Song Contest itself, the sextet came away annihilating all their fellow competitors by achieving the highest score in the competition’s history and becoming the first UMK entry to hit the top of the charts. Now with their sights firmly set on the finish line, the band will be the 14th act to perform at the second semi-final on May 20th, and if successful on the night, will perform again at the finals on May 22nd. The competition finale will also feature performances from past winners of the competition, including Finland’s previous winning act and hard rock heroes Lordi who dominated the 2006 event with ‘Hard Rock Hallelujah’. Finland has long been known for its love of heavy music, with international superstar acts such as Hanoi Rocks, HIM, Nightwish, Children of Bodum, Apocalyptica and The Rasmus all enjoying major global success. Now the world will be adding Blind Channel to that list. Blind Channel were formed in 2013 in the city of Oulu, way up in the North of Finland, by a group of five talented, determined and ambitious friends – vocalists Joel Hokka and Niko Vilhelm, drummer Tommi Lalli, guitarist Joonas Porko and bass player Olli Matela. This fivesome has stuck together to this day, in the spirit of the 2018 sophomore album Blood Brothers, each of them collectively responsible for the songwriting. Last year saw the addition of a new member, as long time friend Alex Mattson joined to play keyboard, samples and percussion and completes the current line up. Following the release of their 2020 album Violent Pop, ‘Dark Side’ is the band’s first taste of music from an upcoming album due for release early next year, working with renowned UK producer Dan Lancaster (Blink 182, Bring Me The Horizon, Don Broco). One Step Closer was the lead single from the band’s debut album, Hybrid Theory. One Step Closer (100 gecs Reanimation) available HERE via Warner Records. The band recruited the critically adored, groundbreaking pioneers to re-envision, reimagine, and reanimate this generational anthem as they see fit. The results bridge the gap between eras of musical revolution as 100 gecs—Dylan Brady and Laura Les—cook up an otherworldly interpretation of One Step Closer, which preserves the signature intensity of the original as it pushes into new territory altogether with gecs adding their own vocals in addition to production. As kindred spirits, Linkin Park set a precedent for genre-bending in 2000, and 100 gecs pick up this mantle and run with it in 2021. “Part of the spirit of Reanimation was to take the Hybrid Theory songs that people knew so well, and let innovative artists flip them in ways nobody expected. I think 100 gecs did exactly that.” said Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. 100 gecs also created the official visualiser, which debuts with the reanimation’s arrival. Check it out HERE. Additional remakes from other disruptors are in the works and could very well materialise soon. Stay tuned for more, as the next era of Linkin Park dawns now. Linkin Park capped off 2020 with the triumphant unveiling of the Hybrid Theory: 20th Anniversary Edition. The album roared back onto the charts, surging to #3 on the Billboard Top Album Sales Chart 20 years since its initial release. It marked the record’s highest position on the respective chart since 2002. 100 gecs is the groundbreaking pop duo of Dylan Brady and Laura Les, who planted their flag on the proverbial pop culture moon with their 2019 debut album 1000 gecs. The innovative project captured the hearts of fans and critics alike with The New York Times calling it, “Some of the savviest pop music of the year,” and Interview Magazine suggesting that it is, “A blueprint for what pop music might sound like in the year 2050.” In just a few months the band went from playing their first concert from inside the video game Minecraft to selling out shows across the country, proving that their rabid fanbase doesn't only exist in the far corners of the internet. After their world tour was postponed in the summer of 2020, Brady and Les returned with 1000 gecs and The Tree of Clues, a rework of the original album featuring collaborations from the likes of A. G. Cook, Fall Out Boy, Charlie XCX, Rico Nasty, as well as crowd sourced contributions by fans. The transformative release was described by NME as a “brain-melting, genre-crushing vision of pop’s future.” Metal trailblazers Tetrarch have wrapped up work on their second album, Unstable, produced by Dave Otero (Cattle Decaptitation, Allegeon, Khemmis) and Tetrarch, scheduled for release this fall. The first single from the album, “I’m Not Right,” is set to premiere on Sirius/XM’s Liquid Metal on Thursday, May 14. The song, which will be released the following day, is available to pre-save at https://tetrarch.ffm.to/imnotright. Guitarist Diamond Rowe says:- “We are very unapologetic about who we are as a band now, and you can really hear that with this new record. It embodies everything that we want the world to hear in heavy music and I believe many people are going to love and relate to it. We are all very excited to put this out and continue riding this wave.” Adds guitarist/vocalist Josh Fore:- “With this record, we pushed ourselves to do whatever was best for the songs. I am so proud of what we have created. This record is heavy, it’s catchy, but most of all it is unequivocally Tetrarch and we are ready to bring it to the world.” Tetrarch burst onto the scene in 2017 with the release of their full-length album, Freak, produced by Dave Otero. The album immediately reached strong positions on several iTunes charts – debuting within the Top 200 chart, at #3 on the metal charts and #17 on the rock charts. Their lead single, “Freak,” also garnered huge response from Sirius XM Octane, and hit Top 50 on the Active Rock charts. The band toured incessantly following the release of the album, including headlining gigs, slots on major tours and appearances at some of North America’s largest music festivals. After a year of writing, the band reflected on their previous recording experience and made the decision to return to Denver to once again work with Otero as co-producer of Unstable. Rowe says:- “It’s been quite a journey, but we are an extremely hands-on band when it comes to every aspect of what we do. Dave made it very comfortable for us to create together.” As with their debut, Tetrarch’s Unstable amplifies the band’s tried-and-true blend of intense heavy riffage and driving drums with the dark vibes and haunting choruses of hooky modern hard rock. Tetrarch’s influences are evident but never replicated, as they stay true to their own unique sound that will appeal to any heavy music fan. Says Rowe:- “Everything that we have done as a band has led to where we are today. We are very humbled by all the support we are constantly given by our fans and we cannot wait for everyone around the world to hear this record. We are going to be touring relentlessly all over the world and playing in front of as many faces as we can. We could not be more excited.” TETRARCH is: Josh Fore – vocals/guitar Diamond Rowe – lead guitar Ryan Lerner – bass Ruben Limas – drums www.tetrarchmusic.com www.facebook.com/tetrarchmusic www.twitter.com/tetrarch www.instagram.com/tetrarchmusic Man With A Mission have gone straight in at No.1 with their new album "Man With A “B-Sides & Covers” Mission in Japan. Italian Alternative / Nu Metal band, Overlaps, have announced the release of their second album 'In Your Room' on March 27th, 2020 via Time To Kill Records. 'In your Room' is arranged and produced by Franco Fraccastoro (except No Way, Queen of Peace and Wait for Me). Mixed and mastered in Finland by Jesse Vainio (Sunrise Avenue, Apocalyptica, The Rasmus). Album artwork by Diego Bozza. Pics by Daniele Visman. "In your Room" shows an evolution not only in terms of sound, but also in terms of writing compared to the previous album. Many songs are inspired by some incisive experiences that the band lived last year during the European tours in which it took part. “Wait for me” talks about opportunities, how to live one's passions fully, not to let them escape and to wake up every day in a different place with a different opportunity. “Who I am” was written in a personal way by Gloria, who on stage finds that unconditional love for music, moved by the exchange of energy with the audience, which goes beyond everything, every emotion, every feeling. “Queen of peace”, were written in London, has a more pop momentum. The English metropolis, which enjoys numerous corners of peace, becomes the subject of a metaphor to underline that the search for serenity can also find a place within us. The lyrics of the other pieces are at times poetic and metaphorical, with references to decadent poetry: Baudelaire's "Spleen" and the evanescent images of Tim Burton's cinematography are an example. There is no shortage of riffs and pressing refrains like in Your eyes, Mr Right and Wasted. “No way” and "I don't need", present stronger themes, such as the search for one's independence through the elimination of prejudices, fears, needs, and deleterious attachments. “In this Room”, the first revealed single of the album, contains the meaning of the desire to leave your room, from your comfort zone, from the "bubble" where it all began.
