Savage Messiah have completed recording their as-yet untitled new album, which is due to be released in early 2014.
The follow-up to 2012's "Plague Of Conscience" was recorded at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk, England with producer Scott Atkins (Amon Amarth, Sylosis, Behemoth), who also worked on the band's last two albums. Savage Messiah frontman Dave Silver is excited about the achievement: "Finally, after almost seven weeks of brutal hard work, we can proudly say that our third album is complete! Every note has been played, every lyric sung and now we await the finished mixes from producer Scott Atkins. We've had a lot of laughs making this record, and despite it being a labour-intensive effort, we had no major disruptions and the whole experience has been really enjoyable. We're genuinely excited to get this album out into the world and start the promotion! We look forward to releasing more details over the coming months as well as the various touring activities we have planned! See ya on the road!" As previously announced, Danish metal troupe Rising has confirmed November 4th as the worldwide street date for their new album, "Abominor", set for release through guitarist Jacob Krogholt's newly formed label, Indisciplinarian. Following its recent premiere on Danish National Radio, today, the fourth of the album's nine raging anthems, "The Hills Below," is now streaming via Youtube.
Listen to Rising roar to "The Hills Below" now AT THIS LOCATION. "Abominor" contains nearly forty minutes of new material, displaying a faster, more aggressive and gritty side to the Rising sound, incorporating more punk and crust influences, while remaining true to the melodic heaviness that has been a trademark of the band from the beginning. The album is produced by Jakob Reichert Nielsen, who also produced Rising's self-titled debut EP as well as their debut album, "To Solemn Ash", and the artwork created by singer / bassist Henrik Hald. However, "Abominor" is to be the last album from this incarnation of the band. The year leading up to the recording sessions showed severe disagreements creatively and personally within the ranks, and upon finishing the album drummer Johansen and singer/bassist Hald left the band. "Abominor" thereby signifies the end of an era for Rising and as a result of the demise, there will be no tours or live performances directly in support of the LP.Main composer, guitarist and remaining member Jacob Krogholt has now teamed up with original drummer Martin Niemann, who formed the band alongside Krogholt in 2008, and the two core members will continue Rising with a new line-up and are currently busy writing new material to be recorded and performed live in the course of 2014. "Abominor" will be released as 180 gram black vinyl limited to three hundred copies, as well as digitally worldwide. The LP version is now up for preorder to international customers at Indisciplinarian's new official website HERE. Fans in the US will be able to order the album directly from Earsplit in the coming weeks; stay tuned for preorder info. http://www.facebook.com/risingdk http://www.indisciplinarian.com http://www.facebook.com/indisciplinarian http://www.indisciplinarian.bandcamp.com With just over a week to go before the release of “Løyndom”, the debut album from Norway’s Slegest, the band has released a music video for the opening track of the album “Ho Som Haustar Aleine”. The video, produced by Håvard Nesbø and Ørjan Talle, features the band’s newly formed live-lineup, which includes founder Ese (ex-Vreid) on Vocals and Rhythm Guitars, Sør (BÄÄÄV, VONBRÅTEN) on Lead Guitars, Hövard (BOMBEKLÜCHTER) on Bass and Fjøsne on Drums.
The video is being debuted by Metal Hammer Norway and can be seen at http://metal-hammer.no/premiere-slegest-video/2950/ Slegest, formed in 2010 by former Vreid guitarist Ese originally as a solo studio project, plays a mix of classic Heavy Rock combined with old-school black metal vocals. The band’s first release, a self-titled EP, appeared in 2012, after which Slegest inked a deal with Dark Essence Records for the release of the debut full-length album. “Løyndom” was recorded partly in Ese’s own Systrond Studio and partly at the Conclave and Earshot Studio with producer Bjørnar E. Nilsen and was mastered by Enslaved’s Herbrand Larsen. The artwork for “Løyndom” includes drawings by Jan Magne Vigdal and design by Tom Korsvold. Tracklisting for “Løyndom”, which is set to hit the streets on the 7th October as follows: 1. Ho Som Haustar Aleine 2. Rooted In Knowledge 3. I Slike Stunder 4. Løgna Sin Fiende 5. (7.5/10) The Metal Observer Lifeforce Records are proud to announce the signing of Italy's finest modern metal / metalcore act Ready, Set, Fall to the Lifeforce Records roster! The band's Lifeforce Records debut "Memento" is set to be released in February 2014! If you are into outstanding melodies, striking choruses and a modern-style heavy sound, you have to listen to Ready, Set, Fall This Italian band combines Swedish melodic death with American metalcore and a strong preference for agile variability. “Memento” marks the first full length album and Lifeforce debut for this band which came together in Genoa in 2010. Some of the Ready, Set, Fall members have roots within the (pop) punk genre (Where Everything is, The Last Banned). Others paid their dues being part of metalcore and metal-acts such as Blood, Sweat And No Tears, Aspasia, and Living Corpse. With forming Ready, Set, Fall the Italians brought together their wide range of influences and predilections for the best elements of the Scandinavian and American heavy music scene. Listening to “Memento” you cannot avoid to think of Soilwork, In Flames, Killswitch Engage, or All That Remains. This is exactly what Ready, Set, Fall want to achieve, without just copying those established acts. The quintet is driven by its internalization of modern-style metal, being played without any boundaries or restrictions. Enjoy! Under the banner of 'Only Death Is Real', Roadburn 2010 thus became the venue for the presentation of Triptykon's newly-released debut album, "Eparistera Daimones", as well as Triptykon's first official life appearance.
Triptykon admit that they: "felt very honored by the confidence Roadburn placed in us, and the event will forever rank as one of the most significant experiences in the existence of Triptykon. We are therefore deeply delighted and proud to be able to announce that Triptykon has been asked to return to Roadburn in 2014". To commemorate the release of Triptykon's long-awaited new album in spring 2014, Triptykon will appear on Roadburn's main stage at the 013 venue, on Sunday, April 13, 2014. Tom Gabriel Warrior: "Roadburn is very likely the most extraordinary, daring, and vigorous festival in what has otherwise largely become a blandly repetitive and overly commercialized heavy rock scene. Moreover, anybody who has ever attended Roadburn can confirm that no other festival exudes such a unique feeling of radiance and creativity among audience and performers alike. Triptykon's return to Roadburn in 2014 signifies yet another truly unique chapter in a long affiliation with the festival, dating back to the riotous days of Celtic Frost. I am deeply grateful to Roadburn's artistic director Walter Hoeijmakers for his extraordinary friendship and his continued faith in the path we are pursuing with Triptykon. In return, we shall duly transform Roadburn into a church of darkness". Roadburn 2014 will run from Thursday, April 10 to Sunday, April 13 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland. Originally formed in early 2013 by Volundr (guitar / bass) and Funedëim (guitar / vocals), they were later joined by Thanatos (drums) from the band Cauldron. The three members hail from three different cities in Spain, but this wasn't an obstacle for them to create their personal vision of Black Metal in its most raw, classic and genuine style. Dragging influences from bands like Darkthrone, Bathory, Immortal, Hades, Carpathian Forest, early Satyricon and very old Emporer… the debut album of Svipdagr is a ode to Black Metal in its purest form, containing 9 songs that vary from the most raw and primitive form to epic & pagan acoustic passages. Even sounding grim, "Black Verses" owns enough variation with excellent riffs that will please any lover of good old Black Metal. Track listing for "Black verses" is as follows: 1. Black Souls (Intro) 2. Black Verses For Black Souls 3. Sacrifice II - A Dead Sentence that Never Comes 4. View Through the Rusty Helm 5. Infighting, Evocation to Black Metal II 6. Ego Sum Lux Mundi (I'm the Light of the World) 7. In the Darkness of Faith 8. Slaves of the Sword Without Edge 9. Two Shades in the Way (Outro) "Black Verses" is scheduled for October 15th and you can visit the band's official site here: www.facebook.com/2000svipdagr as well as listening to an advance song on the following links: http://youtu.be/F5TsEUA5ceE http://soundcloud.com/xtreemmusic With a release date for Slegest’s debut full-length album “Løyndom” set for the 7th October, Dark Essence Records has today previewed a track from what will be the debut album from former Vreid guitarist Ese.
“Ho Som Haustar Aleine” is the opening track from “Løyndom” and can be heard at http://soundcloud.com/dark-essence-records/slegest-ho-som-haustar-aleine Recorded partly in Ese’s own Systrond Studio and partly at the Conclave and Earshot Studio with producer Bjørnar E. Nilsen, and mastered by Enslaved’s Herbrand Larsen, “Løyndom” (Secret), is a mix of classic heavy rock and old school black metal that has an distinctly down and dirty, and addictively catchy, groove running through it. Track listing for “Løyndom” as follows: 1. Ho Som Haustar Aleine 2. Rooted In Knowledge 3. I Slike Stunder 4. Løgna Sin Fiende 5. The Path Of No Return 6. Faceless Queen 7. Dirt Life Death 8. Past Burden Strength When, following his departure from Vreid where he played on four albums, Ese formed Slegest in 2010, his original intention was that it should be a solo project, and, indeed, apart from a guest solo by former Vreid band-mate Sture, Ese plays all the instruments himself on “Løyndom”. However, it soon became clear to everyone who heard the album that Slegest was a live band waiting to happen, and a live line-up has now been put together, which, apart from Ese on Vocals and Rhythm Guitars, consists of Sør (BÄÄÄV, VONBRÅTEN) on Lead Guitars, Hövard (BOMBEKLÜCHTER) on Bass and Fjøsne on Drums. Slegest is also busy putting the finishing touches to a music video for “Ho Som Haustar Aleine”. Produced by Håvard Nesbø and Ørjan Talle, the video will premiere before the release of “Løyndom”. http://www.slegest.no/ |
