Iranian modern metalcore outfit One Missing Link unleash new music video for 'Shadows Inside'

Metalcore band One Missing Link returns with a fresh new music video for 'Shadows Inside'.  Since their last creative effort "The Monstrosity" featuring vocalist Nikan Nasim and guitarist Mahan Abdollahi, One Missing Link has become a quartet with the addition of drummer Kiumars Saffari and bassist, Nima Mohammadi.

Shadows Inside Out Now Via Tough Sounds:  https://fanlink.to/shadowsinside

One Missing Link's latest creative effort 'Shadows Inside' deals with the concept of duality within the human consciousness and how the conscious and usually the righteous 'self' converses with the invariably corrupt 'spectre' who creeps up on the 'self' with intrusive and usually destructive thoughts.

Some words about 'Shadows Inside' by vocalist Nikan:

“This song is about a conversation with a half-life spectre of our own self within the heart; it’s the part of us that desires evil things; should you ever succumb to it, it leaves you with the consequences. But the truth is, you control both "yourself" and the "spectre,"; this begs the question, how can we overwhelm all these temptations in our daily lives? This song calls for a victory rush against all the black dots inside our personalities that could blacken our hearts.”

'Shadows Inside' was mixed and mastered by Finnish producer "Joonas Vuojolahti" at Cold Truth Music Studio and was released through Tough Sounds. The music video of 'Shadows Inside', which premiered on Spaceuntravel, was filmed and edited by "Amirhosein Esmaeili"/

Devastating metalcore grooves with post hardcore sensibilities, One Missing Link prove themselves to be the Iranian representatives of the new wave of core.

Coloured by the integrity of outfits like Wage War, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Motionless in White, One Missing Link combines the extremity of rusty metalcore noises with the fragility of unstable apperception.

The band's initial inception started with vocalist Nikan Nasim and guitarist Ali Mostanbet's cover of the Architects song 'Royal Beggars' in 2020. They released their first original single, "Shivers," a year later, after the departure ofAli Mostanbet.

After signing with the first Iranian Metal Label Tough Sounds, One Missing Link made a comeback with the release of "The Monstrosity," and "Shadows Inside" from their upcoming EP 'The Other Side'.

Iranian / Persian thrashers Padra return with new single Jabr

22/4/2022

Frantic aggressive metal reflecting the outcry of the Iranian youth, Padra’s Farsi lyrics are a call back to the original essence of Thrash Metal.

Padra vocalist / guitarist Ramtin Dashti had this to say about "Jabr", their latest creative effort:

"'The literal meaning of the word Jabr is “Algebra”, but in Persian culture as well as the Persian language it’s the antonym of “Free Will” and is considered to be a power above “Free Will” and ultimately used to control mankind. The Jabr that we have to contend with in Iran our whole lives is the sheer domination of retrogressive and traditional ideals in favour of the young generation’s progressive ideals. We tried to convey this concept in our artwork and in the song we aimed to blend aggressive melodic music with Persian lyrics and remind our fans of our old style of song writing.'"

  • Stream / purchase Jabr Here: https://fanlink.to/jabr

Founded in 2010, the band initially started as an experimental project, implementing Farsi lyrics alongside various metal subgenres. Since then, the band has released two albums and four singles, and throughout their journey, it has evolved to become one of the more mainstream acts of the Iranian metal scene. Their Farsi lyrics mirror the Iranian youth’s genre of preference, Persian Rap, and is why Padra can appeal to many Iranians and has landed them a loyal following in Iran.
A following that travelled from all corners of Iran to see the band’s two live performances in 2016 ensured that those live shows became two of the most memorable live experiences of the Iranian metal scene.

The band is never afraid to get political with their lyrics, which closely resembles Persian rappers. In addition, they also incorporate horror and existentialistic elements in their songs.
Fans of bands such as Kreator and Testament will recognize Padra’s use of old school thrash metal and melodic death metal elements and their modern production approach. Their style of ferocious metal perfectly augments the message the band tries to convey, revolt and disobeying against retrogression.

In 2021, after moving to Istanbul, Turkey Padra signed with the first Iranian Metal label, Tough Sounds, to deliver the outcry of Iran’s youth to the ears of the international metal community with their future singles in 2022.

Padra Lineup:

  • Ramtin Dashti - Vocalist / guitarist / producer
  • Amirali Khajavi - Guitarist
  • Ahmad Chegeni - Bassist
  • Keyvan Musavi - Drummer

"Mayhem" is a track taken from Iranian metal fighters Artamene's upcoming album "Ziggurat", due for release on the 21st January 2022 via Wormholedeath worldwide.

"Artamene’s Ziggurat is a blistering yet not overpowering journey into Persian mythology. The album is heavy and progressive yet still melodic."

Iranian thrashers Tarantist contribute to the "Homanity" compilation, to raise awareness about censorship and persecution artists face in Iran

20/4/2021

Picture

A group of Iranian musicians have contributed to a new compilation, Homanity, to raise awareness about the censorship and persecution artists face in Iran. The compilation was spearheaded by Crowdsourcing Human Rights and Democracy Council and will be released on May 7th.

Iran metallers Tarantist contributed with the track "Soldiering" and can listen to these locations:

  • Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/1FloggrYQ1Cbqf80PiYL5T?si=jGZ6XOBBQJCe2gcZqhUvBQ

  • Apple: https://music.apple.com/us/album/soldiering/1559354219?i=1559354222
  • YouTube Player: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mAWmrEcF7I

Tarantist emerged from Tehran’s underground rock and metal scene in 2000. Their new release “Soldiering,” addresses Iran’s mandatory military conscription for men, who must serve for two years, without pay or benefits, if they want to go to university, get a passport, or participate in other economic activities. Many who do not want to serve are forced to flee Iran, and that comes with its own set of consequences.

People who escape the country (sneaking out from mountains in the borders) without having passport or military service documents are not able to return back to the country or even travel freely throughout the rest of the world.

Iranian djent / metalcore outfit Out Of Nowhere unveil new single 'Blind Crow'

5/3/2021

Picture

Mashad, Iran-based djent / metalcore band Out of Nowhere has regularly been releasing music and playing live shows since 2010 regardless of the risk of being arrested by the oppressive regime.

Their newest single, “Blind Crow,” is well supplied with suspense, apocalyptic surroundings, violent breakdowns, glass-shattering screams, and syncopated riffs. Crossing the borders of metalcore, djent, alternative rock, and prog, the track upholds the Iranian revolutionists’ ever-evolving sonic dexterity.

“Blind Crow” is available on all major digital platforms. Stream / Download it AT THIS LOCATION.

In regards to the struggle they face being in a country where metal music is illegal and bands often get arrested for playing live or making music, Out of Nowhere informs:

“Being a metal musician in Iran is a big risk. Starting from the overpriced rare instruments to the risk of being arrested each second. We played some sold-out shows but the risk of being arrested is with us even right now when I’m writing this. It’s a big crime and if they arrest you, there will be years of prison or even in some cases execution for us. But we are born to do this, so we accept the risk and do what we love to do.”

After one month of voting, nearly 6,000 votes cast and countless sharing across all social media platforms by us and nominees alike, the time has come to announce the winners of the GMA Awards 2019.

But before that happens, there will be a change to how the nominees are cast. For 10 months of the year we will be running a series of rounds from which the 10 finalists will be recognised for the annual event.

The system will work as thus: nominees elected in the month of January are voted for in February... February nominees voted in March, etc and finishes with nominees in October being voted for in November - the finalists will then be voted for across the month of December and into early January 2021; finishing 8th January 2021.

Now that's put out into the open, we can finally reveal the winners of the GMA Awards 2019.

Hailing from Iran and with an album and demo to their name, Nex Carnis are a steadily rising force, wisely parcelling out their releases - Black Eternity makes three total since 2012 - and delivering quality over quantity every step of the way. This new two-song 7" is no different, and shows that Nex Carnis are effortlessly making their Metal of Death craft that much more powerful and provocative. Utterly dark and disgusting, hammering and dizzying in equal measure, Black Eternity indeed sounds much like its title and suitably drags the listener down into labyrinth after labyrinth of untold horror. And yet, for however vile 'n' virulent the band's brand of death metal may be, there's a strangely hummable magic to it that further elevates Nex Carnis' classicism. Behold Black Eternity and begin drowning in DEATH! Drums on this EP were recorded by Alvaro Sequeida (Occidens, Melektaus, Godagainst).
