Cypher16 make their highly anticipated return with "Another High". The video showcases the band's first live show since the pandemic, at Rockfest in Finland, coupled with footage of them recording their second album in Sweden, Denmark and England. Cypher16 would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the process, which ended up stretching from 2018-2022. Frontman Jack Doolan has this to say about the release: "Well, it’s been a LONG time coming! We actually finished this record off in December 2019 at Abbey Road in London with a view to get it out in 2020, and then the world got turned upside down. As a result of the pandemic and various other things that I won’t go into right now, we’ve had some lengthy time away from music and some internal changes take place. We’re so grateful to everyone who continues to be around Cypher16, past and present and right now the vibe is the best it has been for a long time. We had A GREAT trip out in Finland over the summer playing our first show back (Rockfest), so now it’s time to start the engines up again and get on with the job!" Moving on to address "Another High" Jack Doolan adds- "It’s a pretty dark song just touching on some of the personal challenges some of us have faced, and continue to face, every day. We very nearly lost people in Cypher16 over the last couple of years, and it’s safe to say the situation is still pretty dangerous right now. We hope people who struggle can identify with some of the stuff mentioned. Our door is also always open to anyone who wants to get in touch to talk. We all know who, and what, we are." The second album ‘It’s A Long Way Back (From This Road) releases in early 2023 via Constant Evolution Records. Cypher16 are an innovative and refreshingly original rock band who harness metal and a hint of industrial to create a truly massive sound. The band have toured in seventeen countries including multiple tours of China and India, playing shows and festivals with the likes of Nightwish, Amaranthe, Fear Factory, Children Of Bodom, Behemoth, Lamb Of God and Slayer, and have released one album and three EPs, garnering significant radio, press and hundreds of thousands of streams / views worldwide. The band are excited to announce the imminent release of their second album, which was finished at Abbey Road Studios in London in December 2019. The new single, 'Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames', is the first in the trilogy. On the new single and the upcoming trilogy, the band comment: “The Pain Trilogy is a three part tale focusing on the stages of grief and vulnerability and exemplifying it through a love story. The first song, 'Pain Remains I: Dancing like Flames', begins with the main character becoming enamoured by the person within his dreams. He decides to turn to this reality as a sense of purpose despite knowing that the closer he gets to his goal, the further it seems to drift away.” 'Pain Remains I: Dancing Likes Flames' comes as the fourth single to be released from Pain Remains, following 'Sun/Eater', 'Into The Earth', and 'Cursed To Die'. Website || Facebook || Instagram || Twitter Italian melancholic metallers SilentLie are giving fans another taste of their forthcoming second full-length "Equilibrium" with the unveiling of their new music video for the second single "On My Skin", a track about the story of the value of life to a son, through difficulties and hopes. It’s a smooth hard rock song, with a good rhythm, and a very catchy refrain. Always drawn to the dark side of emotions, SilentLie's "Equilibrium" proceeds along this path. It stands on modern heavy tones and an obscure mood that can be compared to bands like Ghost, Ozzy Osbourne, and The Cure. Spreading their dark wings, drums, and bass, SilentLie builds a wall of sound on which the guitars dance with tombstone keys while a powerful female voice embraces the listener with gritty, but catchy melodies. Many of the songs on the album, thematically, deal with the eternal struggle between good and evil, with lyrics introspective and personal. There’s a maturity to the music that acts as a pendulum swinging between 80s liquid verses and gloomy, almost doomy, parts. "Our first EP, "Blood Under Snow" was a collection of five obscure and atmospheric tracks, while our first full-length "Layers of Nothing" featured dark/gothic influences with some old-fashioned Sabbath riffing. The new material on 'Equilibrium" reveals a more focused sound with a blasting production. It's deep, heavy, and gritty with a dark outline. It's a collection of 10 heavy songs, a journey in the dark without fear." adds the band. “Equilibrium” was mixed in the U.S.A. by Grammy Award winner Dave Hagen at Dark Horse Studios (Mastodon, Evanescence, Alice in Chains). The album will be released via Rockshots Records on September 30th.
SilentLie was formed in Trieste, Italy in 2005. In 2007, they recorded "Behind My Face", a demo that gave the band several opportunities. In 2008, the song "Silence of Your Mind" appeared on two compilations: The Funeral Vol.2 (for the American label 272 Records) and Maximum Rock Attack (for the Magazine Maximum Rock). In 2009, the song "River Of Torments" was part of the Blood Sisters film soundtrack, from which a video was also extracted. In 2013, the band released the EP Blood Under Snow, a collection of five obscure and atmospheric tracks and in the same year, the video of the single "Regret" was filmed. In 2015, the debut full-length album "Layers Of Nothing" was released by Bakerteam / Scarlet records, later followed by the video of the title track. The album featured dark / gothic influences with some old-fashioned Sabbath riffing. After a hiatus due to personal reasons, SilentLie returned in 2021 to begin work on their second album to be mixed at Dark Horse Studios in the USA by the Grammy Award-winning Dave Hagen. The new material reveals a more modern and focused sound with a blasting production, but SilentLie still holds its identity: deep, heavy, and gritty with a dark outline.
American modern metallers Vended unveil new single 'Ded To Me', prep EU tour & Bloodstock festival18/7/2022 Des Moines’ firebrands, Vended have revealed another incendiary new single, 'Ded To Me', ahead of their first ever UK and European dates. The five-piece tell us; “This song is unforgiving and uncompromising. We are back and better than ever. They will then play headline shows in London and Bournemouth before continuing their touring back out in mainland Europe. Vended continue; "We’ve spent the past year playing shows, touring, releasing music, and meeting fans in the U.S. Now it’s time to start world domination and hit Europe with the same energy. Hope you're ready, here we come…!" Late last year, the band dropped a duo of singles ('Asylum' and 'Burn My Misery') ahead of their 5-track debut EP, ‘What Is It / Kill It’, which arrived at DSPs on November 12th. The much-acclaimed collection was recorded with Griffin Landa of The Acacia Strain. The two singles bookended their first US headline tour, after which the band went on to open the day's proceedings at the huge Knotfest Los Angeles show at the Banc Of California Stadium, playing alongside Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon, Killswitch Engage, Fever 333, Code Orange and Cherry Bombs. Vended‘s fresh and furious sound heralds a new era of heavy music and the arrival of the next generation of brutality. With SLIPKNOT - ## With LAMB OF GOD and KREATOR - ** www.officialvended.com Norwegian gothic industrialists Gothminister release music video for brand new single, "Pandemonium"2/7/2022 With his captivating debut ‘Gothic Electronic Anthems’ in 2003, Gothminister Bjørn Alexander Brem took the dark music scene by storm, unleashing a thunder of pitch-black magic. Powerful metal riffs march relentlessly arm in arm with huge orchestras and heavenly choirs, while the master himself reveals an astonishing range of vocal art: from the deepest gothic-dungeons up to the higher spheres of steaming rock. It’s the overwhelming combination of catchiness and darkness; a thrilling craft of composing within the marrow of gothic, industrial-metal and electronica, that became Gothminister’s trademarks ever since. With tracks like “Devil” (Gothic Electronic Anthems 2003), “Monsters” (Empire of Dark Salvation 2005), “Darkside” (Happiness In Darkness 2008), “Liar” (Anima Inferna 2011), “Utopia” (Utopia 2013), the last single from the CD/DVD horror movie concept album which even reached the national finals of the Norwegian Eurovision contest, “Ich will alles” and “We are the ones who rule the world” which both entered the Top 10 of the German Alternative charts and brought thousands of fans together on a tour across Germany together with ASP, Gothminister has gotten a significant following all over the world through the years. Now, the Norwegian industrial metal act has surprised them with an epic music video for a brand new single! "Pandemonium" takes us back to the new gothic era around 1880 AC, where we find the city and kingdom of Gothminister under attack from its own inhabitants. The old, mighty and evil king, played by Gothminister himself, faces chaos and uproar among his own. The band mastermind reveals: "A lot of the scenes in the music video were recorded in an old gothic church, «Jakobs Culture Church» (Kulturkirken Jakob) in the city centre of Oslo, Norway. The church was built in 1880 and in 1980 the bishop of Oslo wanted to tear it down. The church was saved and preeeved by the Directorate for Cultural Heritage, and is now home for rock and metal concerts every weekend." "«Pandemonium» is one of the heaviest but also one of the longest songs Gothminister has ever released. We are excited to see what the fans think about this new sound. In a time where TikTok and other social media channels promotes music snippets lasting only a few seconds, we wanted to do the opposite by introducing the new album with a more than 5 and a half minute long opening track…" One can be sure, the new Gothminister single creates a hunger for more, and a new album slated to be released on October 21, 2022 through AFM Records. GOTHMINISTER Artist Line-Up:
Award-winning Italian producer, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and re-mixer, NeroArgento announces he will be releasing his sixth studio album "Land Of Silence" via Rockshots Records on October 7th, 2022. An explosive mixture of grunge rock, industrial metal, and electronic music, packed with orchestral influences and acid fuzzy sounds, "Land Of Silence" follows the success of 2020's “Circles”, which soared to #10 on the iTunes Top 200 Italy Rock Chart along with more than 1 million streams on Spotify. "Land Of Silence" is the most coherent record to date from NeroArgento's discography. It's a solid industrial foundation composed of unmistakable low-tuned guitar riffs and very heavy drum grooves, topped with electronics and synths ranging from the most acid electro to retro wave pop-friendly melodies, without forgetting the usual and distinctive vocal layers. With great attention to every aspect, "Land of Silence" is entirely performed, recorded, and mixed by NeroArgento. The record was mastered by Brandon Ashley at D-Tuned in Brighton (UK) and features prominent guests such as Vicio (Subsonica) and Claudio Ravinale (Infernalizer). To anticipate the album's release, NeroArgento has chosen the track "The Way I Am" as the first single. "The track is influenced by a more classic nu-metal sound in the vibe of the early Linkin Park, but in a current guise, in the wake of bands like Tetrarch or Motionless in White with detuned guitars, massive grooves, and super melodic choruses," adds NeroArgento. The video clip for "The Way I Am" was directed by NeroArgento, Fabio Brunello (CGI), and Mattia Di Matera (live shots) and is a journey into the near future, composed of different power plays and opposing realities that contrast with each other in search of a balance that struggles to remain to stand, all surrounded by classic 80's cyberpunk settings and the inevitable neon lights. NeroArgento is recommended for fans of Motionless In White, Falling In Reverse, and Bring Me The Horizon. As a producer / arranger NeroArgento has appeared on more than 50 records released worldwide, is endorsed by ESP guitars, ML sound Labs, and Mad Cat Amps. https://www.rockshots.eu https://www.neroargento.info https://www.facebook.com/alessioneroargento https://www.instagram.com/aleneroargento Counterparts are back. The Hamilton, Ontario-based metalcore heavyweights have announced their upcoming full-length, "A Eulogy For Those Still Here", due out October 7th from Pure Noise Records. The record finds Counterparts tapping into a deep sense of uncertainty and dread and pushing their visceral sound to even greater extremes to make their most definitive statement yet. To mark the announcement, Counterparts have shared the album's first single "Unwavering Vow." Kicking off with a blast of pummelling drums and intricate riffing, the gut punch of a track offers a ground-shaking introduction to "A Eulogy For Those Still Here". After two minutes of intense aggression the song pauses for a brief respite of haunting atmosphere, then hurtles into one of the most crushing breakdowns the band have ever written.
Since forming in 2007, Counterparts–made up of vocalist Brendan Murphy, guitarists Alex Re and Jesse Doreen, bassist Tyler Williams, and drummer Kyle Brownlee–have gone from underdogs to a globetrotting powerhouse in the world of aggressive music. Engineered / produced by Will Putney (Knocked Loose, Every Time I Die, Vein.fm), "A Eulogy For Those Still Here" finds Murphy at a crossroads, preoccupied with the inevitability of change and endings. “I think I deal with things by preparing myself for the end,” he explains. “With so much of this record I’m mourning the loss of someone that’s still alive or saying goodbye to something that hasn’t left yet.” The result is a high stakes record written as a true statement of intent–a mix of crushing heaviness and stark atmospherics that draws on everything Counterparts have been honing for the past 15 years. “All of these things I have are still a big part of my life but one day they won’t be, and I don’t want to be focusing on that instead of enjoying the time I have with them,” says Murphy. “Maybe I’m saying goodbye pre-emptively but I think it’s important to say goodbye while you can.” |
