Russian progressive metalcore horde Next Door To Heaven stream new EP "Inside"

Russian progressive metalcore band Next Door To Heaven's new EP "Inside" is now out as of Thursday, March 25th. The self-released EP is the follow up to the band's 2020 single "Dance With Me" and the 2019 second album "V Ways To Accept" released on Sliptrick Records.

"Inside" features five djenty melodic prog tracks along with special guest vocals from Lord Nelson (ex-Stuck Mojo) on the record's closing song "Flare Up". The band's discography has always been known for flirting with djent metalcore influences and this new release is no different, except this time guitarist Evgenii “Gene” Mazunov took the helm on the band's sound with the use of a 9-string Ibanez along with bass, arrangement, and composition duties. Also joining as a guest for the recording is well-known Russian drummer Pavel Lokhnin (God Eat God, Dominia, Perimeter).

Vocalist and lyricist Daria Mazunova comments:

"We put our souls into the music we create, always. It’s not about making music for something in return, not about making it for fun. It’s about emotions transformed into music. I would say for 'Inside', we entered into more metalcore territory though it doesn’t mean there aren't prog components or experimentation done. Conceptually, the general idea of the EP is a fight between a human and a machine and a master/obeying inside one person. If you look at the cover art you will see a heart combined with a car engine in the moment of ignition."

Belgian post metal alchemists Hamelin premiere their debut EP "Hamelin" via No Clean Singing

The record is set for international release on November 30th, 2019 via Wolves of Hades on LP and on CD by the band.

Recently New Noise Magazine hosted the official premiere of the "Below the Waves" single HERE!

George De Decker is responsible for the EP's stunning artwork, which is available above.

The official video of the EP's first single, "Nadir", was launched on YouTube HERE.

Buried deep in the consciousness of four divergent souls from Mechelen grew a beast enchained by melancholy named Hamelin. Though they are in the process of releasing their first EP, they are in no way new to the scene. With all of them having a background in Belgium’s metal scene and coming from different bands and projects, you might just find yourself impressed by their unique sound and dynamic.

The combined musical backgrounds of their members fell effortlessly into place, pushing a sound that is characterised by a strong atmosphere and melody drifting between melancholy and hope, longing for light as we drift further into the void.

With haunting and calm riffs, cathartic vocals, pounding and yet serene drums and a dynamic composition Hamelin’s debut EP will drag the listener through a sorrowful journey into a maelstrom of blackened and atmospheric metal.

Line-up:

Jason Bond -  Guitar
Casper De Decker - Vocals, Keys
Jesse Massant - Bass
Jan Dries - Drums

Swiss Black Metallers Temple Ov Perversion stream their debut EP via "Decibel" magazine's website

Ancient Black Metal upstarts Temple Ov Perversion stream the entirety of their striking self-titled debut EP at Decibel magazine's website. Set for international release on October 18th via Clavis Secretorvm on classic 12" vinyl format, hear Temple Ov Perversion's self-titled EP in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Hailing from Switzerland, Temple Ov Perversion are a young band with old souls. The band's first demo, Rehearsal MMXVII, was a rough 'n' ready display of their ancient, witching metal, suggesting salacious glories to come. Alas, they have arrived with Temple Ov Perversion, a veritable bounty of black filth, lust, and sleaze. Despite its release in the year 2019, one could mistake Temple Ov Perversion's true opening salvo as some long-lost relic of the early '90s, announced on fliers that a release was forthcoming on Deathlike Silence Productions; cult names invoked include Hadez, Imperator, Mortem, and Hungary's Tormentor. Four songs in 20 minutes, each as stout and swaggering as the next, and what you altogether get is a loose 'n' lawless expurse of sonic sodomy that's immediately headbanging and evil as fuck: no scenes, no rules, NO LIGHT! Temple Ov Perversion play black metal in the old vein exclusively!

Iranian Death Metallers Nex Carnis stream new EP via "Decibel" magazine's website

Iranian death metal cult Nex Carnis stream the entirety of their highly anticipated new EP, Black Eternity, at Decibel magazine's website. Set for international release on September 27th via Blood Harvest Records on 7" vinyl format, hear Nex Carnis' Black Eternity in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Hailing from Iran and with an album and demo to their name, Nex Carnis are a steadily rising force, wisely parcelling out their releases - Black Eternity makes three total since 2012 - and delivering quality over quantity every step of the way. This new two-song 7" is no different, and shows that Nex Carnis are effortlessly making their Metal of Death craft that much more powerful and provocative. Utterly dark and disgusting, hammering and dizzying in equal measure, Black Eternity indeed sounds much like its title and suitably drags the listener down into labyrinth after labyrinth of untold horror. And yet, for however vile 'n' virulent the band's brand of death metal may be, there's a strangely hummable magic to it that further elevates Nex Carnis' classicism. Behold Black Eternity and begin drowning in DEATH! Drums on this EP were recorded by Alvaro Sequeida (Occidens, Melektaus, Godagainst).

Chile's premier thrash band Ripper and Toilet Ov Hell have joined forces to premiere the band's newest EP, Sensory Stagnation. The stream comes just days ahead of the EP's official release next week on Unspeakable Axe Records.

Check out Sensory Stagnation now at this location.

Sensory Stagnation is coming September 30th on CD, cassette and digital platforms from Unspeakable Axe Records, with a vinyl release to follow from Dark Descent Records. Pre-orders are available at unspeakableaxerecords.bandcamp.com/album/sensory-stagnation

2) The Unreal
3) Sensory Stagnation
4) Like A Sacrilege
5) Terror Streets

The high-speed thrashing and intricate riffs are still there, as well as the philosophical lyrics and incomprehensibly good bass work. But the band has leaned a little further into their progressive influences, with a more pronounced presence of Atheist riding shotgun with their usual Teutonic and South American thrash forerunners. The result is an outing that feels rich despite a run time of roughly 20 minutes, loaded with some of the band's best playing and most fascinating ideas to date.

RIPPER is:

Nicolás Villanueva - Drums
Venus Torment - Guitar /Vocals
Pablo Cortés - Bass
Daniel Poblete - Guitars

Guernsey's (Channel Islands) Doomsters Byzanthian Neckbeard stream new EP

27/9/2019

Byzanthian Neckbeard are now streaming the entirety of their new EP Extinction via Doomed and Stoned. The EP is set to be released this Friday.

Listen to the EP here:  https://doomedandstoned.com/post/187942400263/byzanthianneckbeard

Some bands quite simply embody their name in every shape and form, and when it comes to Byzanthian Neckbeard... you get the picture quickly. Riff-laden doom is on offer on this follow-up EP, after their début From the Clutches of Oblivion took them out of their native Guernsey and straight onto the New Blood Stage at UK’s Bloodstock Festival.

Extinction takes a while to limber up, but once “Coffin Bomb” gets into the swing of things, the trio put on a no-punches-pulled performance across each of the three tracks. Phil Skyrme’s guttural vocals match up to the rough-and-fuzzy riffing, matched perfectly to Dan Robilliard’s muscular bass playing and Paul Etasse’s precise and groove-driven drumming. “Extinction” takes us out with a seven-minute stomper.

Thus the EP ends, ready to be looped again until more material emerges from the island-bound miscreants who go by the name of Byzanthian Neckbeard.

Italian renaissance metallers Temptress stream the entirety of their debut EP, The Orb, at the New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal (NWOTHM) YouTube channel. Set for international release on July 8th via Dying Victims Productions on 7" vinyl format, hear Temptress's The Orb in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Although a brand-new entity, Temptress are a veritable blast from the past. Moodily melodic and draped in the cloak of night, Temptress create effortlessly cruising mid-tempo heavy metal of a most early '80s vintage. Even down to their production style, the power-trio have this style down COLD, and it emits a nostalgic fire that's somehow fresh across these two equally strong tracks. A new twist on the old NWOBHM comes courtesy of Italy - gaze deeply into Temptress' The Orb!

Slovakian Black Metallers Malokarpatan stream new EP at InvisibleOranges.com

Slovakian black metal vanguad Malokarpatan stream the entirety of their a special new EP Cesta podzemnými sálami Kovovlada at heavily trafficked web-portal NoCleanSinging.com. Set for international release on April 8th via Sun & Moon Records on 7" vinyl format, hear Malokarpatan's  Cesta podzemnými sálami Kovovlada in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Simply put, Malokarpatan are Slovakian black metal both at its finest and most adventurous. Since the band's humble beginnings in 2014, the band have swiftly and almost effortlessly built a challenging body of work with two now-cult, critically acclaimed albums. A grass-roots movement if there ever was one, nearly everyone agrees: there's simply no other nowadays black metal band who are so vividly able to straddle staunch traditionalism and boundless adventurousness quite like Malokarpatan.

Ever restless, the maverick quintet return with a special two-song EP, Cesta podzemnými sálami Kovovlada. Originally self-released on digital format, Sun & Moon steps forward to unleash these two brand-new songs on physical format, as they so deserve, which are strictly exclusive to this release and will not appear on a future album. The material here deals with a mythological theme of Kovovlad – master of the underworld and its treasures, who abducts a maiden from the world above to become his bride. This is reflected directly in the music, with the first ambient part painting a psychedelic picture of strange underground halls and the second metal part expressing the darkness of the maiden's fate, left forever to dwell in this world of night.

Picture
1. Cesta podzemnými sálami Kovovlada I
2. Cesta podzemnými sálami Kovovlada II

While Cesta podzemnými sálami Kovovlada comprises two songs, let it be emphasized that this is not just a mere "single" but rather a thematically unified work that should be considered an EP. But, whether long-format or short, Malokarpatan refuse to be shackled in the creativity, and Cesta podzemnými sálami Kovovlada is yet another sterling 'n' stirring chapter in their increasingly bold story.

In the lead-up to its 7" vinyl release next Monday, hear Cesta podzemnými sálami Kovovlada in its entirety exclusively HERE, courtesy of InvisibleOranges.com.

Californian Death Metallers Crematory Stench stream new EP via "Revolver" magazine's website

13/2/2019

Picture

LA death metal cult Crematory Stench stream the entirety of their highly anticipated second EP, Grotesque Deformities, at Revolver magazine's website. Set for international release on February 15th via Blood Harvest Records (distributed & marketed by Regain Records) sets February 15th on cassette tape and 12" vinyl formats, hear Crematory Stench's Grotesque Deformities in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Hailing from Southern California, Crematory Stench formed in 2014 and released their self-titled debut EP two years later. Then a trio, the band's sound was a thrashing take on late '80s death metal, largely nodding to early Death and Pestilence. Now expanded to a quartet and has been a prolific force on the live front, Crematory Stench's attack has but gotten nastier, gnarlier, and creepier. One could argue that with Grotesque Deformities, they have entered the very early '90s, owing as they do to the sounds coming from Sweden then. Either way, it's utterly hellish.
