Season of Mist are proud to announce the signing of Chinese Atmospheric Black Metal band Zuriaake. The band will release their new album via the label at a later date, as well as a part of the back catalogue.
The band comments:-
"We are very pleased to announce that we have sealed a brand new record deal with one of most famous metal labels: Season of Mist. It is an honour for us to join the ranks of this label who have released a lot of great records in the long metal music history, and Season of Mist will definitely support us in bringing our music to a wider audience."
Founded by Blood Fire and Blood Sea in Jinan city, Shandong Province, Zuriaake is one of the earliest extreme metal bands in China.
After signing to Black Happiness Production, the first black metal record label in China, the band released a demo sub-series with Yngizarm, Blood Fire's personal black metal project. In this sub-series, Zuriaake began to explore Chinese black metal in both form and ideology. In 2006, Zuriaake signed to Pest Productions and started to write their debut 'Afterimage of Autumn' (released in 2007).
This record turned into one of the most important albums in the history of extreme metal in China. Zuriaake, based on its simple expression technique and unique creative concept, further explored the integration of traditional Chinese music elements and black metal music in the form, and searched for the balance and intersection of Eastern and Western cultures. This record was popular outside of China as well, including Germany, the United States and Japan.
After a long break due to the studies of Blood Fire, the band returned with a new EP in 2015 and a second full-length "Gu Yan". This record was highly praised by many professional metal media and fans at home and abroad.
In May 2017, Zuriaake was invited by Finland's Steelfest Open Air, the largest black metal music festival in northern Europe where the band played its European debut show. The three piece became the first Chinese metal band that performed in northern Europe. Meanwhile, the first overseas tour across Europe also achieved great success.
In the following years, the atmospheric black metal act returned to various European festivals, such as Roadburn, Wacken Open Air, Brutal Assault and Midgardsblot, building their name in the international metal scene. Signing to Season of Mist will be the start of the next chapter.
Indonesian Atmospheric Black Metal project Pure Wrath drops new single; The Forlorn Soldier EP out in March
Invisible Oranges is currently streaming "Children Of The Homeland" from Indonesian atmospheric / symphonic black metal project Pure Wrath, spearheaded by multi-instrumentalist Januaryo Hardy. The track comes by way of Hardy's impending new EP, The Forlorn Soldier EP, set to drop March 6th via Debemur Morti Productions.
An emotive three-track, near-half-hour exploration of events behind a brutal incident during the '60s genocide in Indonesia where male members of a family were kidnapped and "vanished" by a tyrannical army in the name of "so-called nationalism," The Forlorn Soldier is darker and more expansive than previous works. With its powerful, melodic cascades, impassioned vocals, skilled guest drum work by Yurii Kononov (ex-White Ward), and piano contributions by Dice Midyanti (Victorian), the effort journeys to an all-encompassing realm where mythic dreamscapes meet bloody thematic realism.

Pure Wrath's The Forlorn Soldier will be released worldwide on digipak MCD, 10" MLP, special edition 10" MLP, and digital formats. Find pre ordering options below:

Pure Wrath initially began as a primitive black metal solo project in 2014 before Hardy shifted
focus a bit "to be more open and realistic to my real life and family history." In early 2017, Pure Wrath 's Ascetic Eventide was released via Indonesian label, Hitam Kelam Records. The record received an overwhelmingly positive response and sold out in just four months. Throats Productions in Mexico issued the record on vinyl later that year followed by a split release between Pure Wrath and French symphonic black metal project, Onirism, entitled Endless Journey. By 2018, Hardy unveiled his second full length, Sempiternal Wisdom, via a joint collaboration with Hitam Kelam and China's Pest Productions. This year's The Forlorn Soldier EP serves as a thematic bridge from Sempiternal Wisdom to Pure Wrath's as-yet-untitled third opus, to be released via Debemur Morti Productions.
Italian atmospheric post and sludge metal band Lambs‡, who just recently announced their worldwide signing with powerhouse label Argonauta Records, are set to release their first full-length album, Malice, on September 27th.
Formed in 2013 by founding members of Dementia Senex and Crawling Chaos, the four-piece collective released several Eps and splits to date, and shared the stages with prestigious acts such as Brujeria, Ancst, Ufomammut among many more. Lambs‡ combine black metal, sludge and post-hardcore elements to create a very personal and abrasive wall of sounds; unfiltered and raw, they are taking you on a trip into oppressive, gloomy atmospheres. Today the band is sharing with us a first track taken from Malice. Just exclusively premiered on New Noise Magazine, you can now listen to Lambs‡ first single titled Arpia HERE!
Four years after releasing their monolithic "Cloak of Ash" on Relapse Records, Brisbane’s Hope Drone return with a new meditation on personal and existential despair in the form of "Void Lustre". Crafted with patience and restraint the album sees the band travel further down the textured and dynamic pathways forged by their previous work as they dance from austere atmospheres to crashing walls of sound through frenetic blasts and thunderous dirges. Blending the likes of black metal, sludge and post-rock with influences even further afield the band creates a rich sound that is as beautiful as it is devastating.
"Void Lustre had to be dragged into existence through loss, depression and doubt", the band comments. "Songs were crafted, reformed and discarded. Ultimately however this record is a continuation of our search for catharsis, comfort and hope found in walls of sound made only for ourselves and those like us."
Engineered and produced together with the band by long-time collaborator Christopher Brownbill (Underground Audio) and released by the capable MOMENT OF COLLAPSE RECORDS (Heaven in Her Arms, Suffocate for Fuck Sake, Hope Drone self-titled) the album is built on relationships forged over the years. Joining the production fold is mastering engineer Mell Dettmer (Earth, SunnO))), Wolves in the Throne Room) who, with her deft hand and experience, brought forth a master of dynamic and clarity.
Coming August 30th on 2xLP, CD and Digital via Moment Of Collapse Records, watch out for many more news plus album tunes to follow in the days ahead!
Hope Drone is:
Chris Rowden (Guitar, Vocals)
Karl Hartwig (Guitar, Noise)

"Riisuttu is the most versatile song we have done so far. It combines influences from progressive metal to post rock and alternative metal/rock. This song presents well the new musical directions we have started to take in our music and it is very fun to play live.
Everyone in the band are extremely happy about the music video that was made by Kaira Films (Vesa Ranta & Aapo Lahtela). We wanted to have a stylish video full of atmosphere and they delivered it perfectly! It was great to see how well body painting theme worked out with our music!"

Ukrainian Wacken Metal Battle 2018 winners Motanka release a stunning and dramatic 7 minute official video for their first single “Verba” (Ukrainian for “willow tree”) from their upcoming self-titled debut album. The video underlines the strong connection of the Mystic Metal four-piece to mystical nature and ancient traditions.
Motanka will release their self-titled debut album Motanka on June 7th via Napalm Records. Influenced by traditional Ukrainian folk music, metal tunes and modern electronica, the band creates a very unique mix that the band refers to as Mystic Metal. Motanka managed to capture the trance-like magic of their live shows on their debut, which leaves each and every stereotype behind and hypnotizes with heavy ethno soundscapes.
Motanka on “Verba”:
“One of the strongest songs that has powerful energy. The energy that all of us really need now. All we want to say is in it, all you want to know or ask, you will find in it.”
The Ukrainian lyrics in English:
Verba - Willow tree
A lonely willow tree stays in the field.
It is bended above the river.
It let its branches down,
It cries and fights…
Our language is like one of a nightingale.
Our land is the one and only.
A lonely willow tree
A lonely willow tree
Our souls are flying nearby,
They are praising their land.
Its branches are waving in the wind.
There are sprouts - you and me.
Our language is like one of a nightingale.
Our land is the one and only.
A lonely willow tree
A lonely willow tree

Every piece of the album is saturated with the mystical nature of Ukraine. We wrote most of the songs in our home town Lutsk the mystical centre of Ukraine. The power of the region remained and still is the same for ages.We have prepared the album for many years and are very excited to finally present it via Napalm Records.”
The mix of English and Ukrainian lyrics and instrumental songs underlines the diversity of Motanka. The album will be available in the following formats:
Motanka is the name of the traditional doll that ancient Ukrainians used as an overseer for their protection and for the communication with their ancestors.
Victor Verba (Zhalnin) - vocals, keyboard, dulcimer

Russian Atmospheric Black/Death Metal band Absence Betrayal released new video clip for "Devotion" - https://youtu.be/b1UMflLmHqA
Absence Betrayal it's when emotions, experiences and morality entwining together, creating a live extreme music unit. Every song from this band is a separate and sad history with its philosophical implication and sense. The band was created as a studio project of one man (vocalist Andrey Baranov) but actual themes and music quickly found the response, so there came a desire to play this music live.
Ruadh (which is pronounced "Roo-Ah" and translates to "red" is a one man Atmospheric
Black Metal project from Glasgow, Scotland. Drawing from the vast well of history, culture and
mythology, musician and songwriter Tom Perrett set out to compose music purely to taste, creating an unmistakable atmosphere with the beating heart of old school Black Metal favourites of his, such as Windir, Bathory, Burzum and others, which should also appeal to fans of Saor, Winterfylleth, Panopticon and similar acts.
Tom was born and raised in one of the oldest Burghs in Scotland, which translates to "The red glen". The derivation of the name of the town is un clear but one theory is that the area was once a settlement of Reuther, an ancient king of the Scots, who ruled between 213 and 187 BC. Ruadh’s debut album “Sovereign” will be released digitally and as collector’s edition in CD digipak (limited to 1000 copies) on 12.04.19
