Swiss Tech Death uni Virvum sign to Season of Mist

Season of Mist are proud to announce the signing of Virvum. The Swiss tech death shooting stars will release their much anticipated second album through Season of Mist and in addition re-issue their debut full-length 'Illuminance' via the label as well.

Virvum comment: "We are extremely excited to announce our collaboration with Season of Mist. They are without doubt one of the most striving, hardest working labels out there and signing to them was on our wish list since we started this band. During the last couple years, they have proven repeatedly that they have a good and well educated perception of what is going on in the music industry. We could not be happier about the fact that they hit us up, just because one of their employees liked our album. This is something you cannot expect from a label their size, and it is just a small example of why they are one of the spearheads of the industry. We are looking forward to join their roster, and who knows, a new album might be on its way rather sooner than later!"

When a relatively unknown Swiss band released their debut 'Illuminance' in the year 2016, only insiders suspected the massive impact of this album.

Virvum have been founded by childhood friends in 2007 and since then the aspiring and hard working musicians continuously fine-tuned and honed the tracks of their first full-length to match their burgeoning skills.

Virvum first got noted, when guitarist and main songwriter Nic Gruhn happily took the offer to join a European tour with California's progressive death metal pioneers Fallujah while also opening for such renowned bands as Suffocation and Cephalic Carnage in 2013.

On the return of their guitarist, the name Virvum got chosen for the band and they immediately set out to perform as many shows as possible in order to establish themselves in Europe.

In 2015, a first single, 'Internal Howl' attracted immediate attention and the same year Virvum were picked to internationally support big names such as Dying Fetus, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Defeated Sanity among others.

In advance of their self-released debut full-length, Virvum received a massive response for the song premieres of "Ad Rigorem" and title track in 2016, while the album was highly acclaimed by critics and fans alike.

With their professional attitude, the exceptional technical prowess of each individual musician, and last but never least outstanding collective song-writing skills, the Swiss are now ready for the next step. Stand by, while Virvum create a new monstrous record in studio. To be continued soon...

5. Urn (Part I) – And Within The Void We Are Breathless (7:30)
6. Urn (Part II) – As Embers Dance In Our Eyes (6:38)

Ne Obliviscaris frontman Tim Charles comments on behalf of the band: "The 14-minute long title track from our new album 'Urn' comes in two parts and forms the album's grand finale. We are now presenting Part 1, 'And Within The Void We Are Breathless'. This song is one of the more intense featuredon our new record and flows through darker territory than the previously released, 'Intra Venus'."

Ne Obliviscaris third album, 'Urn' is bound to be a career defining moment. The Australian extreme prog shooting stars have honed and re-balanced the key elements of their unique sound to a razor sharp musical edge. The dynamic entwining of fierce growls and emotive clean vocals, the contrast between devastating et intricate guitar riffs and thundering drums against an unleashed violin and gorgeous string parts as well as the perfect blending of epic progressive and intense extreme metal forms of expression are all marking a new peak in the steep rise of the band.

The Ukraine's Ieschure sets release date for Iron Bonehead debut; reveals first track

Picture
Iron Bonehead Productions has set December 1st as the international release date for Ieschure's  highly anticipated debut album, The Shadow, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Ieschure is a one-woman black metal formation from Rivne, Ukraine, founded by Lilita Arndt in early 2016. With lyrical themes solely focused on occultism, witchcraft, and death, Arndt set to work on her first public recording, The Shadow, which was created during 2016-2017. Although seeing the light now, The Shadow is a melancholic and nostalgic work of pure black metal that could've been released 25 years ago.

Breathing a similar essence of the founding early '90s wave, Ieschure conjures an immediately captivating spell of exquisite grimness and bitter majesty. In a seemingly time-stretching 34 minutes, The Shadow indeed approximates its title, wrapping its ethereal embrace around the spellbound listener with an utterly cryogenic splendour, never ceasing its hold nor relinquishing any joy. The sound-field may be distant and withered - and unapologetically raw, of course - but Ieschure exudes a keen grasp of dynamics which allows every note (and the notes "between the notes") to ring out in the night sky with an eeriness all her own.

This is music for when the light has truly died and human life ceases to move; it is the reverberation of nocturnal existence, many and terrible its denizens. Will you enter The Shadow with Ieschure? Begin the journey with the new track "What Waits in the End" HERE at Iron Bonehead's Soundcloud.

Spanish goregrind stalwarts Haemorrhage have shared a new track, "Transporting Cadavers," off the band's impending seventh studio album We Are The Gore. The track is delivered through an intense in-studio video, created from clips captured during the album's recording process at Mpire Studios in January 2017.

See Haemorrhage's "Transporting Cadavers" video only at Decibel Magazine HERE.

Guitarist and vocalist Luisma commented on the video, "We decided to record some footage in studio during our recording, but we didn't know what we would use it for. 'Transporting Cadavers' is one of the most intense songs in the album and we thought that it would be cool to make a video out of that studio footage. It perfectly catches the studio ambience during the recording of We Are The Gore."

Additionally, listen to We Are The Gore's opening track, "Nauseating Employments," via a gore-filled lyric video at YouTube HERE.

We Are The Gore is set for release on October 6th on CD, LP, and Digital via Relapse Records. Physical packages and digital order are available via Relapse.com HERE and all streaming services AT THIS LOCATION.

Haemorrhage is set to spew forth their most ferociously (de)composed album to date with their seventh studio album We Are The Gore. Embalmed at Mpire Studio in Madrid by Alfredo and Javi Ustara and mastered by Brad Boatright (Obituary, Nails, Skinless), We Are The Gore embodies fourteen tracks and thirty-five blood-soaked minutes of pathological gore, ideal for listening to in mortuaries and mausoleums. With numerous guest appearances from current and former members of Carcass, Impaled, Dead Infection, Ghoul, Gruesome Stuff Relish and others, Haemorrhage takes their nauseating blend of scalpel-sharp riffs, triple threat guttural vocals, and bone-scraping rhythms to a new extreme. One listen to We Are The Gore will leave you soaked in buckets of bile and feeling like a freshly made cadaver.

Picture

Haling from São Paulo, Brazil, Freaky Jelly is a band with an authorial project in the line of progressive metal. With influences from traditional Progressive Rock to Hard Rock, it goes through the classic Heavy Metal and Rock n' Roll among other styles.

Picture

As in life (which is the great inspiration of the band), the compositions are ruled by the changes of climate - now calm and smooth, sometimes fast and aggressive. The lyrics complete the scenario by combining themes that can portray a beautiful and simple sunny day with deeper and strained reflections.

The musical diversity of its members directs the sound of the band, whose sole purpose is to deliver a melodic and honest sound.

"Reverse" will be released in Europe on October 13, 2017 via Rockshots Records on all the major record and digital stores, while a North America release date will be announced soon.

Canada's Obliterate joins Unique Leader Records for the release of 'Impending Death'

29/8/2017

Picture

Canadian death metallers Obliterate are the latest edition to the Unique Leader Records roster. The band will unleash their second full-length, Impending Death, February 2018.

Issued guitarist Marcus Adam, "We've been working really hard on this record for awhile and, with this partnership with Unique Leader, we think it's the perfect time for us to unleash what is our heaviest offering to date to our fans. This album is not only our heaviest work to date, but it also demonstrates a much more mature and atmospheric sound which takes our music to a whole new level. We come from a deathcore background and that remains the foundation of our sound, but on Impending Death you will also hear a strong death metal influence. We also have two of the industry's beefiest vocalists from Oceano and I Declare War to appear on separate songs, so old-school deathcore fans surely won't be disappointed."

"The title is both a message lyrically and musically," he adds, "as we want the listener to feel that the next moment of a song will be as crushing as the last and for that experience to translate across the album. There's a sense of impending weight in terms of our delivery. With Unique Leader behind us -- a label recognized for introducing some of the most intense bands in the game -- this album will see Obliterate reach new audiences and we are confident grow our fan base not only in Canada and the US, but worldwide"

Formed in 2010, Obliterate emerged from Quebec, Canada as a crushing component of the modern death metal and deathcore mechanism. Comparable to acts such as Whitechapel and Thy Art Is Murder, the band bring hook-laden breakdowns and a frenzied intensity that stands defiant alongside the US dominated genre.

In 2012, Obliterate released their debut album The Filth Of Humanity. The album demonstrated the potential of what the band had to offer and would soon after lead to a growing profile through active touring across Canada and the United States. The band followed up the debut with a self-titled EP that featured crushingly heavy drops and a relentless riff onslaught that confirmed the bands growing identity as a leader of the Canadian deathcore sound.

Obliterate are currently finalizing their forthcoming full-length, Impending Death, with producer Christian Donaldson of Cryptopsy (Despised Icon, Beyond Creation, Ingested). Pushing the band's abilities to new levels and creating a sound that explores a greater level of extremity, the album maintains Obliterate's deathcore roots while bringing a more intense and crushing death metal approach.

In addition to being active in the studio Obliterate has also played two of Canada's largest music festivals this year, namely Montebello Rockfest where the band shared the stage with the likes of Rammstein, Queens Of The Stone Age, Meshuggah and many more, and Music 4 Cancer Fest alongside Pennywise, Less Than Jake and many others. These appearances build upon the band's impressive history of support slots alongside Fleshgod Apocalypse, Unearth, and Gorguts among so many more as well as a performance on the 2013 edition of Amnesia Rockfest with Deftones, Lamb Of God and Offspring.

Nekhrah have released a home-recorded demo in 2014, under their former name and have currently completed recording their first full-length album entitled Cosmic Apostasy which was mastered by Alan Douches of West West Side Music. The artwork of the album and the design of the band logo was done by Maciej Kamuda. The band name “Nekhrah” is an Anglicised version of the Greek word “Νέκρα” which means “death” or “deadness” and/or “emptiness” in Greek.

The philosophy behind the band is Nihilistic. That is to say, the belief that existence is meaningless and that there is no inherent meaning in anything we do, think or experience. The lyrics revolve heavily around misanthropy, cataclysm, self-destruction and a desire of non-existence. “Humanity is but a herd of ritualistic apes that congregate to 'ceremonialise' their own insignificance”.

Nekhrah are:

A. – Vocals, lyrics
C. – Guitars, lyrics

Germany's Sacrilegious Rite sets release date for Dunkelheit debut; reveals first track

29/8/2017

Picture

Dunkelheit Produktionen has set November 13th as the international release date for Sacrilegious Rite's highly anticipated debut album, Summoned From Beyond.

Although a seemingly brand-new name, Sacrilegious Rite's history stretches back to the '90s, when the band was formed following the breakup of Captis Damnare, who were active from 1999-2010. The remaining members Sumnor Amdis and E.I.-M. moved on to take a new path matching their interests and visions more than Captis Damnare ever did or could do. Their possibilities were limited, although there was inspiration, for sure. Infernal Beast, the drummer, left the band after a year. Throughout this timespan, some songs were recorded and a few gigs were played. This line-up recorded that songs that comprised the split releases with the German black metal legends Ungod and Bolivian cult Bestial Holocaust.

After Infernal Beast dropped out of the band, a lot of experiments with the line-up were undertaken - without any success. For a while, Sacrilegious Rite went on hiatus because E.I.M. lost interest in being a musician for a while and Sumnor Amdis went to work on his other projects. On the edge of disbanding, a new drummer was installed. Sitrom Rogir came at the right time, bringing just the right amount of passion and fanaticism to the table to get the band going again. Again, some concerts were played, and Angra Mainyu, former bassist of Captis Damnare, joined the band in the vacant position on bass. At last, the line-up was complete. The now-quartet eventually recorded the demo Black Curses of Death and the tracks for the split CD with Goatblood and Dethroned.

With their line-up solidified and a number of live gigs under their bullet-belts, Sacrilegious Rite hereby present their first full-length, aptly titled Summoned From Beyond. A work of both grimy physicality and mystical aura, Sacrilegious Rite fully embody the ancient spirit of black metal's yesteryears. By no means "retro"-minded nor completely against regression, the quartet conjure a pulsing bestiality cloaked in fog and sulphur, nodding as much to the early '90s Greek scene as they do South American wildness from the '80s. However, solid songwriting reigns supreme across Summoned From Beyond, and each of the eight central tracks (notwithstanding the mood-establishing intro and outro) patiently unfolds to envelop the listener in an orgy of vociferous violence and malignant majesty. Suitably, the recording balances robust rawness and lingering mystery alike, rivet-headed abandon and opaque splendour in equal measure. Further intensifying that orgiastic sensation, the album features a number of guest vocalists: Infernal Execrator's Lord Ashir on "Sacrilegious Rite," Adaestuo's Hekte Zaren on "Remains of the Deceased," and Bestial Holocaust's Sonia Sepulcral on "Strigoicia."

The past is alive, and it's been Summoned From Beyond by Sacrilegious Rite! Begin the summoning with the new track "Deathstalker" at Dunkelheit's Bandcamp HERE and also at the label's official YouTube page HERE.
