Australian Metalcore vets The Amity Affliction announce ninth album 'House Of Cards'

Embracing a new chapter of artistry as a band, The Amity Affliction announce their long-awaited new studio album, "House Of Cards.  Releasing via Pure Noise Records on 24th April 2026, House Of Cards is the first full-length from the band to feature clean vocalist Jonny Reeves, who became a permanent addition to the line-up in 2025. Bolstering Joel Birch’s signature fusion of intense and open lyricism, the arrangements and vocal duality provided by the band throughout the DNA of this new album is set to reaffirm their status as one of heavy music’s most dynamic groups.

Now, the band shares the first taste of the new album - the impactful title track, ‘House Of Cards’. A song penned by Birch for his brother and sister (and himself), taking stock of the relationship shared with their mother; a central figure at the heart of the album.

Open about the difficult nature of the relationship shared between mother and children, Birch unpacks the thematic nature of ‘House Of Cards’-

“Our mother died in 2024 and none of us had a healthy relationship with her. She was very self-involved, aggressive and abusive in our early years and in her later years, spent a good amount of time trying to put a wedge between the three of us.Thankfully, once she passed, the three of us actually became closer as we realised we had individual but shared trauma related to her.”

With lyricism directly related to experiences Birch and his siblings experienced during their formative years, ‘House Of Cards’ is a song that matches its sonic intensity with emotional weight threaded through its poignant words.  The single, both as an individual entry and as part of House Of Cards’ broader tapestry, is a strong moment of acknowledging trauma but in doing so, navigating it with a redefined perspective on life and human relationships. Released alongside the track, is the music video for ‘House Of Cards’, directed by Daniel Daly.

As demonstrated throughout 2025 with both music (‘All That I Remember’) and a huge return to touring across North America, Europe and the UK, the hunger The Amity Affliction shares with their global audience when it comes to new material remains fervent.

Across a two-decade strong career, the band has continued to take strides forward in delivering music that has brought them countless accolades including 5 ARIA #1 albums, over `1 billion streams and numerous sold out tours in both domestic and international markets. The release of "House Of Cards" in 2026 is set to be a powerful addition to a catalogue that remains one of Australia’s best.

Australian fans won’t be waiting long to see the band back in action, with the band’s 21 date regional tour with favourites In Hearts Wake and Redhook starting in Queensland this week. The extensive tour will have The Amity Affliction on the road through into March, a perfect primer for the band leading into the album release and their return to North America in April.

Texan Metalcore crew I Promised The World release self-titled EP

The fast-rising Texas-based five-piece I Promised The World have released a new self-titled EP via Rise Records, their first project with the label. Recorded at Timber Studios in Bayonne, NJ with Jon Markson (Drug Church, DRAIN, Stay Inside) and Adam Cichocki, I Promised The World opens quietly with “Proud” before exploding into the band’s full screamo / Midwest emo / post-hardcore push, setting the tone for an EP that never lets up. Molina’s cracked, yearning vocals and Wilson’s guttural growls weave through the otherworldly swell of “A Pure Expression,” the aggressive-but-exposed rush of “Bliss In 7 Languages,” and the constantly shifting “Future Worth Dying For,” before “Emerald Waltz” closes things out by building from hushed desperation into a relentless, towering crescendo.

The EP captures a moment of choosing intention over drifting, presence over distraction, and treating the future as something you actively build instead of wait for. I Promised The World  documents that turning point: the tension between who they were and who they’re becoming, where nothing has technically changed, but everything feels different. It’s both a reset and a declaration—the sound of a band committing fully to itself.

  • All streaming for the EP  here
  • Watch the visualiser for "Proud"

  • Watch the video for “A Pure Expression”
  • Watch the video for  “Bliss In 7 Languages”

Born out of tragedy, the band started after vocalist/guitarist Caleb Molina lost his father in 2020 due to COVID. Though the band—completed by vocalist Hunter Wilson, drummer Mason Zschau, guitarist Mason Nowlin and bassist Aidan Vickers—didn’t actually form until a few years later in 2023, their existence is intrinsically linked to his death. I Promised The World has always been both an extension and expression of Molina’s grief. But, as the band’s new self-titled EP demonstrates, it now also exists in defiance of it, as a celebration of Molina’s dad’s life. In the two short years of the band's existence, they’ve seen tours with Deafheaven, Midrit and Koyo.

Speaking about the new track the band say:-

Regarding the album the band say:-

Finnish violent pop / metal crew Blind Channel to bring the 'Dark Side' to Eurovision 2021 as Finland's entry.

15/5/2021

Picture

Finland are looking to repeat history as they eye up their second Eurovision Song Contest victory. Their entrant this year is Blind Channel, a band that have been sprinting past milestones and crushing their rival’s records with their enormous anthemic entry ‘Dark Side’.

‘Dark Side’ has become a #1 smash hit on the Finnish singles chart and has remained in the top 10 airplay charts for over 10 weeks, with the song now reaching platinum.

Is metal going to bring Finland the gold yet again? Listen to the song here and watch the official lyric video here.

It was written as a reaction to the global pandemic that forced the music industry to a grinding halt, synonymously crushing all the band’s 2020 touring plans. Frustration, isolation and depression gave birth to an anthem for the people, and the Eurovision Song Contest has proved to be the perfect vessel to spread their message.

Niko Vilheim, one of the band's two vocalists shares his thoughts:-

“What we really needed at that low point was an anthem for ourselves, a song that gives the finger to life itself. That’s how ‘Dark Side’ came into life. It really was an instant anthem. ’Dark Side’ is a song that’s meant to be performed together with an audience, as a kind of communal experience. Now we needed to find that audience, and we knew that there were lots of people out there who felt exactly like we did.”

Picture

After entering the track into the UMK (Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu = New Music Competition), the Finnish qualifying round for the Eurovision Song Contest itself, the sextet came away annihilating all their fellow competitors by achieving the highest score in the competition’s history and becoming the first UMK entry to hit the top of the charts.

Now with their sights firmly set on the finish line, the band will be the 14th act to perform at the second semi-final on May 20th, and if successful on the night, will perform again at the finals on May 22nd.

The competition finale will also feature performances from past winners of the competition, including Finland’s previous winning act and hard rock heroes Lordi who dominated the 2006 event with ‘Hard Rock Hallelujah’.

Finland has long been known for its love of heavy music, with international superstar acts such as Hanoi Rocks, HIM, Nightwish, Children of Bodum, Apocalyptica and The Rasmus all enjoying major global success. Now the world will be adding Blind Channel to that list.

Blind Channel were formed in 2013 in the city of Oulu, way up in the North of Finland, by a group of five talented, determined and ambitious friends – vocalists Joel Hokka and Niko Vilhelm, drummer Tommi Lalli, guitarist Joonas Porko and bass player Olli Matela. This fivesome has stuck together to this day, in the spirit of the 2018 sophomore album Blood Brothers, each of them collectively responsible for the songwriting.

Last year saw the addition of a new member, as long time friend Alex Mattson joined to play keyboard, samples and percussion and completes the current line up. Following the release of their 2020 album Violent Pop, ‘Dark Side’ is the band’s first taste of music from an upcoming album due for release early next year, working with renowned UK producer Dan Lancaster (Blink 182, Bring Me The Horizon, Don Broco).

Hailing from Beijing, China, Life Awaits make their label debut by releasing, their newest single, Better now, through Dreambound's YouTube channel.

With a mix of heartfelt lyrics - gutwrenching vocals and fantastic instrumentation, Life Awaits are here to impress and take no prisoners with this first single of 2019. Both new and old fans alike are bound to find lyrics and moments that will resonate within them, be it tapping their foot along to the beat, or screaming along at the top of their lungs, there's a bit for everyone to enjoy.

Vocalist Yu opened up about the track:-

"Better now is kind of an experimental song for us. We wanted to find connections between the lyrics and each note. I personally suffered from bipolar disorder for a period of time. So there’s anger in it and there’s also desperation. But most importantly, there is an exit from it all. And we hope the song can reach out to those who have the same problem and can find their own way out. This is also the first single release after signing with Famined Records. We are all very excited. And we hope it brings a new chapter to our career."

You can stream or purchase "Better now" here.

Life Awaits is a 4-piece Post-Hardcore / Alt Metal band from Beijing, China. Established in May 2015, the band gained massive attention since their first single < In Descent> that same year in September. Although the band is at its new-born stage, the band members have experience performing with their former bands all around Asia. The music video was also released on Dreambound’s Youtube Channel and reached over 100k views within a week which also helped to the band to gain significant global recognition. Russian Metalcore horde Forget My Silence release "Fall To Rise" music video

26/5/2017

Picture

Russian metalcore outfit Forget My Silence has released a new music video for the title track off their upcoming record, Fall To Rise. The new single produced by Cameron Mizell (Sleeping With Sirens, Memphis May Fire) brings out melodic but powerful riffs and shines on a mix of soulful yet heavy vocals.

"'Fall To Rise' is the main song from the album. The title holds the history of my life and our band. We are all working on ourselves to get better at what we do. Not always was everything perfect, we faced many fails and hard times, but they only made us stronger and actually made us better. 'Fall To Rise' is story of how people who step over, will fall against those who have already fell before and learned their mistakes, and by their turn they will rise again, only stronger, and they all keep the circle of falling and rising going. This song will be kind of the beginning of new chapters in our story." - Vocalist, Roma Sadygov

Forget My Silence is a post-hardcore/metalcore band from Saint-Petersburg, Russia formed in august 2011 by vocalist Roma Sadygov. Shortly after, the band released their first music video for the single "This is only the beginning," which has since reached nearly five million views on YouTube. In November 2013, they released their debut EP Lifeline and toured around Russia, gaining a passionate following of fans before releasing the the single “Not Perfect” in 2014. The following year the band released “Virtual Privacy” (produced by Cameron Mizell) from their upcoming debut full-length Fall to Rise.

"This album is a half-way stop between our early 'metal' stuff and more nu-metal sound we've dug into recently,” says guitarist Elia Solonnikov. “Simple, but powerful riffs, some harsh vocals, more soulful lyrics than Roma has ever written. If you liked Forget My Silence before, you won't be disappointed.”
