Ukraine's blackened death metallers Sectorial announce they will be unleashing their third full-length entitled "VYR" via Noizr Productions on November 9th, 2018 to follow their 2015 sophomore release "We Are The Titan's Rising Ashes", which won two BUMA awards for "Best Metal Video" (Tree Eater) and "Best Metal Album". Recorded at Tyrant Studio in Kyiv plus mixed and mastered by Warkhoros, "VYR" captures the band's advancement in both musicianship and sound, every instrument, every bit of music on this release has its own story. Featuring 12 brutal tracks, the album showcases an assault of diversity, from intense blast-beats to acoustic compositions to using different ethnic instruments such as drymba/munnharpe, jouhikko, bukkehorn, flutes, duda, and trembita.

The band comments:

"Capricious and unpredictable streams of life, violent waves and the hypnotic blue of the the universe’s depths... an element that can withstand anything that will happen on the way... a bottomless stellar sky, reflected on a calm mirrored surface that in an instant turns into an incredible dance of the wind and drops, and spins in a gigantic powerful VYR."

Singapore's ӨПƧΣƬ (Onset) to release debut EP via Weird Truth Productions on November 28

Singaporean two-piece atmospheric doom outfit Onset's debut EP, Unstructured Dissemination,  bridges a fine line between doom, post rock and even death/black metal elements. The EP was previously only made available on bandcamp and now it will see a proper release on CD format under the banner of Japanese doom specialized label Weird Truth Productions. This EP Features Sigh mastermind Mirai Kawashima and Singaporean darkwave prodigy Microchip Terror on synthnoises.

02. Pestis: The Suppressing & Recurrence

Formed in early 2017, to simply pigeonhole Onset as a “doom band would” just be scratching the surface; the influences brought forward to the band are extremely diverse, with an almost no-holds-barred attitude and seeping in emotive passages surging into post-rock territory while still staying remotely under the radar of the doom genre itself. The tempo and the vibe embody the feeling of melancholy and dread.

The “Unstructured Dissemination” EP showcases two imposing tracks clocking at over 25 minutes in length, as well as an undaunted attempt to record them in a completely live and rehearsal-like environment. Another very integral part of the Onset sound comes from the collaborative effort of synthwave artist Microchip Terror, who provided a very cinematic approach amongst the wash of fuzzed-out guitars and wall of drums, thus giving the entire EP an incredible spectrum of soundscape. Also featuring Mirai Kawashima from Sigh on additional keys/synth on both the intro and outro tracks.

The cover artwork for “Unstructured Dissemination” was designed by Branca Studio (Paradise Lost, Marty Friedman, Foo Fighters, Confrontational, etc) teaming up with the band’s concept and vision perfectly.

“Unstructured Dissemination” will be released on CD version under Japanese seminal doom label Weird Truth Productions on November 28, 2018.

Hostile Media are pleased to unveil the labels latest signing, Violblast. Crisscrossing Europe since day one, the number of heads banging in front of their stage has been steadily growing as more and more are eager to bear witness and feel the full assault of their thrash attack in the flesh.

Today we can unveil details for the second Violblast full length, Theater of Despair, containing no less than ten blistering aural onslaughts with all the trademarks that makes the thrash genre so damned great. Fast, heavy, ferocious and unwavering from start to finish! The album will be released worldwide on 11th January 2019, prepare for war!

“This album represents a new level for the band. It was written in a different way than the previous albums, in a more natural way. Santi and I usually write all the instrumental parts, and as we were in a difficult time for personal reasons, we just let the riffs flow, not trying to sound like A or B, but more open minded and free to express ourselves in some kind of way. The lyrics follow the same pattern, they are personal to our vocalist Andrew who has written all of them.” - states guitarist Sebas Silvera.

The album was recorded over the summer of 2018 at Axtudio in Barcelona, where the band recorded their first album Conflict. “Oscar, the owner of the studio, was also our producer on this album. He has a really good experience recording metal albums (for example, he recorded the last Crisix’s albums) and he helped us a lot on this one ‘opening the doors’ to new kinds of compositions and sounds. We know we didn’t create anything new, but it was definitely a new way of writing our album and also a challenge we did enjoy going through.”

Sabaton releases "The Lion From The North“ Lyric Video; taken from "Carolus Rex"

27/10/2018

Following the news that their 2012 album 'Carolus Rex' has reached quadruple platinum status in their home country Sweden, Sabaton are excited to reveal a new lyric video for the song "The Lion From The North".

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/T1gvNaC17B4

The concept album - which is the band's biggest success to date - charts the rise and fall of the Swedish Empire, in particular the life of Charles XII ("Carolus Rex") who ruled it for 21 years. In an amazing coincidence, the album's quadruple platinum certification comes exactly 300 years after the king's death in 1718! The band will be presented with their quadruple platinum disc later this year, when »Carolus Rex« will take its place as one of Sweden's most successful home-grown rock albums.

Bass player Pär Sundström said: "Over the past few years we've been travelling around the world to perform, while expanding Sabaton's empire into new countries and meeting incredible new fans along the way.

"There's no place like home though, and it’s humbling to know that people in our native Sweden are still so amazingly supportive of us after all these years. Thank you to everyone who played a role in making »Carolus Rex« one of the most successful Swedish rock albums ever!"

To celebrate the album's success, and to commemorate the Swedish king who inspired it, Sabaton will release a special 300th year anniversary edition of »Carolus Rex« on November 30th, 2018, which is the date Carolus Rex was killed in Norway.

Check out a trailer about this upcoming edition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sv9ywP2EsI

Pre-order »Carolus Rex« (Platinum Edition) here: http://nblast.de/SabatonCarolusRexPE

Who was Carolus Rex?

Charles XII ("Carolus Rex") was king of Sweden between 1697-1718, taking the throne at the tender age of 15. Despite his young age, he soon became a brilliant military tactician, thwarting invasions by several countries in the early years of his reign – most famously Russia, who the Swedish king defeated at the battle of Narva despite being heavily outnumbered. The Swedish Empire officially ended during Carolus' reign, after he attempted to invade Russia but suffered a crushing defeat at the battle of Poltava in 1709. In 1718 he invaded Norway and laid siege to the fortress of Fredriksten, but was killed by a mysterious gunshot to the head when inspecting trenches one night. Historians are divided on how the king died, whether he was killed by the enemy or assassinated by his own ranks. Charles spent his whole life at war and never married or fathered children. He was succeeded to the throne by his sister.

Swedish Metalcore crew Imminence release music video for their brand new single 'Paralyzed'

Since the release of their last album "This Is Goodbye" (2017), the Swedish alternative metalcore band Imminence is taking an unexpected turn with the brand new single 'Paralyzed'.

Watch the music video for 'Paralyzed' here: https://youtu.be/2HKRfKeVS78

Buy or stream the brand new single 'Paralyzed' here: https://Imminence.lnk.to/Paralyzed

”For us it‘s not a step back, but rather a step inwards. We didn‘t want to write something that was expected of us, we wanted to make music that was meaningful to ourselves and didn‘t limit the outcome of our new songs. There was definitely a sense of pressure regarding our future sound. Coming from taking such a big step with our last album, we didn‘t know where to start or where to go. I think we also concerned ourselves too much with what other people would think. After trying a lot of different directions we opened up all the doors and broke down the barriers. Feeling compelled to only trust our own instincts and challenge the position that we gained after ‘This Is Goodbye‘. You can expect something darker and more personal from us than ever before.”
- Eddie Berg (vocals/violins) and Harald Barrett (guitars).

'Paralyzed' displays one of the sides of what Imminence is and always have been. Once again the band wanted to show that they can write and release any kind of music as long as it‘s honest and sincere. After finishing a long studio session, 'Paralyzed' is the first single of an imminent new album.

Fronted by vocalist and violinist Eddie Berg, guitarist Harald Barrett, drummer Peter Hanström and bass player Christian Höijer; Imminence was formed in Trelleborg and has over the years become one of Sweden's most promising acts with a diverse sound and universe, embracing everything from metalcore to acoustic music. Founded by Eddie and Harald when they were just teenagers, the band grew organically with a constantly expanding fan-base from all over the world while being a highly active touring band in Europe since 2014.

Imminence are...

Eddie Berg  - vocals/violin
Harald Barrett - guitar
Christian Höijer - bass
Peter Hanström - drums

To celebrate the release of their new 10'' inch today, metal giants Epica have launched a lyric video for their bombastic track 'Beyond The Matrix - The Battle' – a unique collaboration with the Dutch Grammy-award winning Metropole Orkest.

Watch the clip here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UP8vRlp9PzM

Singer Simone Simons states:

"Here it is, our lyric video from 'Beyond the Matrix- the Battle'.  Get ready to dive into the sea of pure tranquillity together with Epica and the Metropole Orkest"

In the summer of 2017, with the help from their massive fan base, Epica won a high-profile competition organized by the Metropole Orkest. The first prize was a recording of a song of their choice with the orchestra. In between Epica‘s heavy touring schedule, the band was able to conjure up a unique, never-before-seen 'Big Band meets Symphonic Metal' rendition of 'Beyond the Matrix'. As a bonus to all voters, runner-up in the competition and friend of the band, Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon) contributed a beautiful guest-solo on the song.

Epica vs Metropole Orkest - 'Beyond The Matrix - The Battle' is out today and available as a limited-edition vinyl and digital download through Nuclear Blast.

You can order the limited-edition 10-inch and bundles from the band‘s webshop http://smarturl.it/epica_vs_mo or from the Nuclear Blast mail-order: http://nblast.de/EpicaBeyondTheMatrix
