Following the release of their highly anticipated studio album Requiem via Loma Vista Recordings in February, Korn shares a new video for the next single "Worst Is on Its Way". The Craig Bernard and Culley Bunker-directed visual shows the band's high energy performance of the song in greyscale as individual members of the band are decomposed into animated particles with a series of visual effects. The 9-track album features the hit single "Start the Healing," which peaked at #1 on the Active Rock chart, in addition to the previously released tracks "Forgotten," which Rolling Stone described as "explosive" and "Lost In The Grandeur," which dropped as a final taste of Requiem just a few days before the record's release. Recently described by GQ as "bold and iconoclastic" and released to high acclaim including recent features on the covers of Revolver and King Kong magazines, Requiem is produced by Korn and Chris Collier. Energized by a new creative process free of time constraints, the band was able to do things with Requiem that the past two decades haven't always afforded them, such as taking additional time to experiment together or diligently recording to analogue tape - processes which unearthed newfound sonic dimension and texture in their music. Additionally, Korn is slated to take their live show across a worldwide run of headline festival and amphitheater tour dates kicking off this summer and running into the fall. The extensive tour begins with a headline performance at Daytona Beach's Welcome To Rockville festival before kicking off EU/UK dates in Amsterdam on May 25th. The tour will see stops in Berlin, London, Stockholm, Budapest and more before returning stateside for dates in Denver, Charlotte, Dallas, Boise and others. Tickets are currently available for purchase HERE. Dragony comments: "We are very happy about this nomination, and are honoured to receive this nod of recognition for our album Viribus Unitis in our home country of Austria, especially since the concept of the album is heavily influenced by Austrian history. It certainly also feels like our work over the past fifteen years as a Power Metal band in Austria is being appreciated by our local music scene, and we are very grateful for this. Fans can still support us to maybe even win the award, by voting in the Amadeus Awards online poll at https://voting.aama.at/! Austrian metallers Teardown have set January 2022 as the international release date for their debut EP!
Now the band has released their second single / lyric video for "Haunting Circle", which is available on all major streaming platforms (e.g. Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube) and can be found here: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/teardown/haunting-circle
"Haunting Circle" is a faster paced and shorter track of the upcoming EP.
"The song is about a person who is overwhelmed by life itself and has difficulty dealing with daily challenges, while being at the lowest point they can mentally be. Just like being in a circle where you cant get out.
But just as there is an absolute low, there are also highs, and those highs have to be enough to get through all of it, even if it seems hopeless and impossible at first, sometimes it's the only chance to get through.
These lyrics should show that we never know how even the smallest thing can affect a person. Not everyone deals with certain problems in the same way and certainly not everyone is strong enough to overcome these situations on their own."
They say that the best way to create space for the new is to dismantle the old. This sentiment rings true for Austrian metal band Teardown, who collectively use music as a pressure release valve to escape from the social constructs of what passes as "acceptable".
Consisting of founding members Dominik Windisch and Nikolaus Rothmund (guitarists), they have now been joined by Barbaros Teker (vocalist) and Markus Winkler (bassist). After the recordings of the EP drummer Mathias Unterberger had to leave the band due to a lack of time because of personal changes. Having all grown up in Vorarlberg, a region where metal remains a largely underground endeavour, the band offers a place of complete escapism for each member and is reflected in the passion they portray throughout their music.
Influenced by the likes of Metallica, Iron Maiden, Trivium, Linkin Park, and Gojira, Teardown's eclectic approach to metal has resulted in diverse and distinguishable pieces of music that offer moments of familiarity as well as splashes of surprise. Energetic, aggressive, and high-octane verses effortlessly are contrasted with supporting choruses and rugged instrumental segments, all of which glue together to form an undeniable sense of groove. Lyrically, Teardown's songs deal with both social and personal topics, always leaving room for interpretation from a listening perspective.
With live music adding an element that guarantees a further intensification of the band's emotion, Teardown are now intent on sharing their latest material with the world.
2021 is shaping up to be a big year for Teardown, with the release of their Debut Single and the following 'Teardown EP' release in Q1 of 2022, which will also feature a collaboration with local rap artist Jherip.

Austrian Death/Thrash metal act Cyrox have signed a licensing deal with Wormholedeath for the release of their album "Beyond Control". More info coming soon!
The music of Cyrox can roughly be described as a mixture between Death and Thrash Metal, whereby they try to fit into no genre specifically. The influences range from Rock to Black Metal.
Cyrox has the following to say about their signing and new album:-
"We are very excited to become a part of the WormHoleDeath family. This marks the next big step for our band and we are ready to take it. With the worldwide release of our debut album „Beyond Control“ we are proud of the opportunity to take our music out there and show the metal fans our take on real Austrian Metal. We are looking forward to a long and great relationship. Lets riff!"
"The album is about things you have to deal with in your personal life, whether its physical or psychological and you have no influence on it. For example the song “Frozen In Life” is written from the view of a man who is in a vegetative state and wants his life to be ended. The song “My Insanity” is about sleep paralysis. Gernot and Andreas came up with the concept and the lyrics after the songs were done instrumentally."
Cyrox gives their accounts of how the band started and how they are nowadays:-
"The band was founded under the name Black Void in February 2016 in Leoben, Austria, by drummer Markus Antoniol from St. Stefan Ob Leoben and guitarist Gernot Weber from Eisenerz, who have been friends since early youth and played together in various bands.
We soon found our second guitarist Christian Gallmayer, who is a colleague of Markus. For about a month we were looking for a bass player, when Gernot heard about a guitarist named Andreas Fahrleitner who was doing a solo cover show in his home town of Radmer. Gernot watched some clips of his show and contacted him if he was interested in joining the band, which he did, so Gernot switched from guitar to bass.
The next problem, however, was that Andreas and Christian had to do their military service in the Austrian army for six months, so they didn't really have time to make music. So the band took a break until November 2016.
Finally, Manuel Kirchleitner from Trofaiach joined the band as a singer, who is also a colleague of Markus and Christian. We changed the name from Black Void to Cyrox and started jamming again and soon the first songs were born.
Our first gig was in December 2017 in Eisenerz, Austria. From that on we played live on a regular basis up till the first lockdown in Austria in March 2020. In May 2020 Christian Gallmayer left the band, because of private circumstances which didn’t allow him to put any more time in the band. He was replaced in June 2020 by Leo Buchegger.
In April 2021 Markus Antoniol had to leave the band, he was replaced in May 2021 by Andreas Tobias."
Line-Up:
- Vocals: Manuel Kirchleitner
- Lead Guitar and Vocals: Andreas Fahrleitner
- Rythm Guitar: Leo Buchegger
- Bass and Backing Vocals: Gernot Weber
- Drums: Andreas Tobias

After one month of voting, nearly 6,000 votes cast and countless sharing across all social media platforms by us and nominees alike, the time has come to announce the winners of the GMA Awards 2019.
But before that happens, there will be a change to how the nominees are cast. For 10 months of the year we will be running a series of rounds from which the 10 finalists will be recognised for the annual event.
The system will work as thus: nominees elected in the month of January are voted for in February... February nominees voted in March, etc and finishes with nominees in October being voted for in November - the finalists will then be voted for across the month of December and into early January 2021; finishing 8th January 2021.
Now that's put out into the open, we can finally reveal the winners of the GMA Awards 2019.

Finnish Cello Metal veterans Apocalyptica release brand new video for 'En Route To Mayhem'
18/12/2019
Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rock band Apocalyptica have released the video for ‘En Route To Mayhem’, which will transport the viewer to a fantastical post-humanity future. This imaginary world is barren, dusty, and littered with broken pieces of things once considered essential to humankind such as bits of plastic, a teddy bear, crumbling structures, cell phones and computers, bleached bones, and long-forgotten musical instruments. The setting is devoid of mankind, but brimming with the hope of new life; and then one day, thunder, lightning, and one drop at a time, it begins to rain, and Mother Nature steps in. Check out the ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video HERE.
Apocalyptica’s Eicca Toppinen comments:-
“‘En Route To Mayhem’ is a journey of hedonic needs growing into greed and aggression, driving into inner mayhem and ending without satisfaction. This video underlines the fact that however we think we are in control by destroying things and life around us, life itself will take over in the end, always. We are not in control of the bigger picture, and we should be aware of it and raise our respect to life around us.”
The ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video is in support of Apocalyptica’s upcoming album, Cell-0, due out January 10th, 2020 via Silver Lining Music. Produced by Apocalyptica – cellists Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso, and Paavo Lötjönen, and drummer Mikko Sirén and mixed by Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lana Del Rey, Metallica and Black Sabbath), and recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki.
The recording of Cell-0 followed a four-year break between albums that gave the band a fresh perspective and affected the way they approached the new music. Cell-0 is the quartet's first instrumental album in 17 years and found the musicians challenging themselves to discover new flavours and colours in their respective instruments. For Cell-0 pre-order options, go to this location.
Perttu Kivilaakso comments:-
“Cell-0 has a concept which is to challenge the listeners to question themselves and ask “Am I doing the best I can for the environment, for other beings? Is there still something I can change?”
To highlight environmental issues, the band wanted to ask fans to do something for our planet; so to coincide with the release of the new video, they have launched a very special competition, which will give fans the chance to win the opportunity for Apocalyptica to play in their living room.
To enter, fans will need to show the band how they are making the planet a healthier place for everyone. Fans can head to their Facebook page and comment with photos/videos showing what they are doing to help the planet and telling the band why they should be picked as a winner.
To find out more information, head to the band’s Facebook page. The online contest is open to all European fans from now and will close at 7:00 pm CET Friday, January 10th, 2020. Full terms and conditions can be found here.
In concert, Apocalyptica are known for their moving live performances and will kick off the New Year as Special Guests on Sabaton's 15-country, 23-date European arena tour that begins on January 17, 2020 in Zurich, Switzerland. With a set list that will likely vary night to night, Apocalyptica's performances will be comprised of new songs from Cell-0 as well as from the band's rich catalogue. Tickets are on sale now; go to https://www.apocalyptica.com for all pre-sales, VIP packages, and ticketing details.

Produced by their long-time friend and videographer Niklas Karrenbauer (motiviert.org), the video features Arroganz vocalist/bassist K and can be watched here: youtu.be/Ca_KMgoWiQc
Vocalist/guitarist Timo Rotten says, "We wanted to make a song that feels like being crushed by a bulldozer, while being its driver at the same time. If you love extreme music, 'Dark' won't leave you untouched. This thing is wild."
