Finnish Cinematic Metallers Dark Sarah sign with Napalm Records; new album "Grim" out July 17th; pre order now
Finnish cinematic metal icons Dark Sarah have officially signed a worldwide contract with Napalm Records! Over the course of eight years and three epically conceptualized albums, the band has proven their standing in the scene. As a classically-educated opera singer and experimental performer, Heidi Parviainen (formerly of Amberian Dawn), created her alter ego with Dark Sarah and fascinates listeners with their talent for unique soundscapes in symbiosis with truly magical worlds.
Known for their incredible storytelling that coalesces perfectly into an unbreakable bond with their music, Dark Sarah are ready to start a new, mesmerizing journey with Napalm Records and their brand new upcoming epos, Grim, hitting stores on July 17, 2020!
Heidi Parviainen on the signing:-
“We are very happy and excited to start a new era in our band´s history and to start collaborating with Napalm Records, one of the biggest metal labels in the world! After working as an independent band for many years, we have got a good view on that path - both in good and bad. This is a new opportunity for us, which we´ll welcome with open arms!”
Cinematic metal icons Dark Sarah start an astonishing new fairytale-like storyline with their fourth studio album, Grim. The beguiling new dimension, coalescing between crystal-clear vocals and propulsive hardness, draws you into the tempestuous maelstrom of their horror fantasy theme. Introducing the new protagonist, Luna, the band invites you to their mythical world of orbs, ravens, rabbit-headed people and Mörk, that’ll wrap you up in a surreal dreamscape.
The overwhelming intensity of Dark Sarah’s masterfully told cinematic metal saga sends shivers down your spine and takes possession of heart and soul, while leaving you with pure emotions. Grim flourishes with its full magnitude, unfolding its potential with every very second.
Singer Heidi Parviainen on Grim:
“Our new album called Grim is a concept album like its predecessors, but Grim will start a new story line with a modern horror fantasy theme. Musically, Grim introduces a more modern sound and a taste of what's to come in the future - with a “DARK SARAH twist", of course. We´re very happy about this album and it has been really fun to make. Also creating the new visual brand and the Grim world has been an adventure already!”
DARK SARAH is:
Heidi Parviainen – vocals
Sami-Petri Salonen – guitar
Erkka Korhonen – guitar
Rude Rothstén – bass
Thomas Tunkkari – drums
Season of Mist are proud to announce the signing of Chinese Atmospheric Black Metal band Zuriaake. The band will release their new album via the label at a later date, as well as a part of the back catalogue.
The band comments:-
"We are very pleased to announce that we have sealed a brand new record deal with one of most famous metal labels: Season of Mist. It is an honour for us to join the ranks of this label who have released a lot of great records in the long metal music history, and Season of Mist will definitely support us in bringing our music to a wider audience."
Founded by Blood Fire and Blood Sea in Jinan city, Shandong Province, Zuriaake is one of the earliest extreme metal bands in China.
After signing to Black Happiness Production, the first black metal record label in China, the band released a demo sub-series with Yngizarm, Blood Fire's personal black metal project. In this sub-series, Zuriaake began to explore Chinese black metal in both form and ideology. In 2006, Zuriaake signed to Pest Productions and started to write their debut 'Afterimage of Autumn' (released in 2007).
This record turned into one of the most important albums in the history of extreme metal in China. Zuriaake, based on its simple expression technique and unique creative concept, further explored the integration of traditional Chinese music elements and black metal music in the form, and searched for the balance and intersection of Eastern and Western cultures. This record was popular outside of China as well, including Germany, the United States and Japan.
After a long break due to the studies of Blood Fire, the band returned with a new EP in 2015 and a second full-length "Gu Yan". This record was highly praised by many professional metal media and fans at home and abroad.
In May 2017, Zuriaake was invited by Finland's Steelfest Open Air, the largest black metal music festival in northern Europe where the band played its European debut show. The three piece became the first Chinese metal band that performed in northern Europe. Meanwhile, the first overseas tour across Europe also achieved great success.
In the following years, the atmospheric black metal act returned to various European festivals, such as Roadburn, Wacken Open Air, Brutal Assault and Midgardsblot, building their name in the international metal scene. Signing to Season of Mist will be the start of the next chapter.
Modern Metal band Reasons Behind have signed a deal with Scarlet Records for the release of their new album ‘Project: M.I.S.T.’.
Founded in 2010 by guitarist and songwriter Gabriele Sapori, Reasons Behind evolved from a Symphonic Metal band with electronic influences to a more synth-oriented sounding outfit.
The crystal-clear, powerful voice of Elisa Bonafè dances between catchy and enthralling melodies, combined with both modern Swedish Metal and Metalcore riffs (thanks to bass player Michele Cavalca and Andrea Gambini's drumming) and immersed in Trance / Dubstep / Eurodance atmospheres, enriched by lyrics that depict all the facets of human existence.
‘Project: M.I.S.T.’ is a concept album about life and reality, a story that unfolds through 11 compelling tracks illustrated by the evocative artwork of Gustavo Sazes (Amaranthe, Epica, Angra, Arch Enemy). The album was mixed and mastered by Giuseppe “Dualized” Bassi (Fear Factory,

Rebaelliun was founded in 1998 and is considered among the most important death metal bands to emerge from Brazil. Despite being formed more then twenty years ago, the band faced a considerable hiatus, which translates into less than a decade of actual activity and not more than three full-length albums under the belt.
Until Rebaelliun's dissolution (in 2002), the trio celebrated its most potent period, having released two studio albums, "Burn the Promised Land" (1999) and "Annihilation" (2001), via Hammerheart Records. They also played several tours - most of which took place in Europe - and shared the stage with Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Vader and Behemoth.
In 2015 the original line-up decided to reunite and release its third and last album, "The Hell's Decrees" (2016), followed by a European co-headlining tour with Pestilence, alongside shows at Party San Open Air and Brutal Assault Open Air. Unfortunately tragedy stroke shortly after, and took the life of guitarist Fabiano Penna in 2018. Amidst all the hardness, remaining members decided to keep the band alive.
In 2020 Rebaelliun is ripe for a new album. The band is also gearing up to perform at Netherlands Deathfest and Into The Abyss Festival, with more exciting news to follow.
Rebaelliun commented on the signing:-
"Last year, we started talking about a new album. With two new songs we got in touch with our previous label [Hammerheart Records]. The response was good, but not sufficient to our needs. After sending promo material to other companies and reviewing several offers, we decided to team up with the Polish label Agonia Records. Since our first encounter, we felt a good understanding, that reflects the band's needs. We're currently composing new songs. The energy is great and we are expecting nothing less than the best album of our career".
Lohy Fabiano - bass and vocals
Evandro Passos - guitars
Sandro Moreira - drums
03.04.2020 - Eindhoven @ Netherlands DeathFest, NL
15.04.2020 - Wroclaw @ Into The Abyss Festival, PL

Formed in 2013, Across The Swarm's exhilarating brand of death metal and charged live shows have quickly earned them a reputation as one of the most exciting acts to emerge from the Italian metal scene.
The group's complex and dynamic sound along with their resonating live performances helped the band quickly rise to prominence. Napalm Events is very well established by now and I can't wait to go on a world tour again with the new album and play further countries.
