“Monolith, from US symphonic metal project Nomadic Narwhal, is a tale of destruction and beauty. One could only imagine, whether looking for it or not, being on a dive and coming across a Monolith. Something clearly manmade that has been submerged for decades, totally coral-encrusted and heavily eroded. Monolith begins with an eerie feeling of being in an unknown environment that builds into a more fantastical feel as if you had made a mysterious discovery. The listener is then challenged to imagine how something like that is now underwater with heavy riffing and rhythm. A destructive force had to have brought this world as it is underwater. A chaotic event involving the titanic force of mother nature. The track then shifts gears to more of an epic build signifying the natural thoughts to follow of mystique and wonder. Attempting to capture the excitement and significance of such an experience, Monolith ties multiple emotions into one moment before bringing the listener back to a brutal ending symbolizing a resurfacing with more than just a story to tell.” – Jesse Beisner [Nomadic Narwhal] Nomadic Narwhal is:

Rockshots Records will be releasing Fortis Ventus' debut album "Vertalia" on June 3, 2022. Combining symphonic and cinematic elements along with soundtrack influences, today the Greek trio unveils their first single off the forthcoming record. Entitled "My Death is My Devotion", the song captures the pain and faith behind the sacrifices for the ones we care about from the emotions driven by love and loyalty. "An epic orchestral intro brings us to stormy seas only for the rhythmic triplets to ground us as the catchy melody gets stuck in your head. The vocals sing long notes while the band and orchestra keep a groovy rhythm going. Then it quiets down to a sombre voice that is filled with emotion only for it to return even stronger than before." adds the band. Listen to "My Death is My Devotion" at the following links:
Sentimental, dramatic, grand, cinematic, and imaginative, "Vertalia" is a concept album based on a novel-fairytale written by keyboardist George Halliwell. "Twelve chapters for a total of twelve tracks" says, Halliwell. The theme of this fairytale focuses on an imaginary planet called Vertalia, where the main character starts their journey to discover their inner truth and the truth of life itself. Through the challenges they face during their journey back to Earth, they connect with their higher self and take a path to eventually achieve inner peace back towards their homeland of Vertalia. "The audience will be surprised at the intricate orchestrations that hide behind complex melodies on this album. Each person hearing it, will find a glimmer to empathize in every track. We wanted to tell a story and give the listener a variety of feelings and a journey alongside the lyrics." adds the band.
"Vertalia" is due out on June 3, 2022 and it's already available for pre-order:

For more info: Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of Greek trio Fortis Ventus for the release of their debut album "Vertalia" on June 3, 2022. Combining symphonic and cinematic elements along with soundtrack influences, Fortis Ventus formed in 2015 and self-released their first ep "Haunted Heart" in November 2017. In early 2018, due to creative differences, the band underwent significant changes. The driving forces that remained were composer, arranger, keyboardist George Halliwell and vocalist, lyricist Nancy Mos. Breathing new life into their work, the duo met Gregory Koilakos who would take on the role of guitarist. Together, the three musicians started recording their first full-length "Vertalia" with Gregory taking on both guitar and bass duties for the album, which also changed the band's metal sound with its film score music elements. 'Melancholia' is the name of a blue orb which provides magical powers to the protagonist Luna. In the song, Luna sees into her past through the orb and learns what has happened to her. Australian female fronted symphonic / cinematic metal band Darkyra signed deal with Sliptrick records! Band states: "It's always hard to take that first step of signing with a label, uncertain at times if you're making the right decision but at some point you have to stop saying no and take a risk. So here we go. We've just signed with Sliptrick records. They'll be re releasing Fool and we'll see how we go with them from there." Darkyra is a five piece Symphonic Hard Rock band based in Perth Western Australia. It’s members consist of Gina Bafile – vocals, Dave Lyon – Guitar, Kim Siragusa – Keyboard, Dan Grainger – drums and Maciek Mastalarczuk – bass. After the successful release and rave reviews of two high production studio albums (a solo project of Gina Bafile under the name Darkyra Black), Darkyra Black was thrown into the spotlight as a strong emerging artist within the world of female fronted metal and rock, fuelling the desire of talented singer Gina to take the music on the road. In 2015 the focus was to project the brand as a complete band which led to the recent name adjustment from ‘Darkyra Black’ to ‘Darkyra’, and with the new found Australian members the transition from solo artist to a working band was complete. Keeping within the traditional Darkyra Black style, the relatively young band begin their creative journey together. With a new album concept on the horizon, their very first collaboration, ‘Against all Odds’ is now taking shape. https://www.facebook.com/DarkyraOfficial/ |
