Frontman Rueban says:-

"The album is loosely based around the biblical character; Samson. Samson was depicted as the epitome of strength in the bible. Though, we might not be like Samson, we, as individuals have unique strengths that we can use. No matter who you are, what age group you belong, or what the status of your life may be, you have a gift that you can use. The pain only gets stronger when we refuse to learn a lesson. If there’s something ‘negative’ happening in your life right now, chances are that you need to learn to accept people the way they are. The album music shows you how to gather yourself and be stronger than you have ever been, based on everyday life experiences."

Portuguese Prog Metallers Blame Zeus sign with Rockshots Records for third album "Seethe" out November 8th

30/8/2019

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their latest signing of Portuguese progressive metallers Blame Zeus for the release of their third full length "SEETHE" on November 8, 2019.

With influences that range from blues to metal, their music can be described as an intense and heavy rock, but also with intimate and nostalgic ballads. Their line up features Sandra Oliveira, Tiago Lascasas, Paulo Silva, Celso Oliveira, and Ricardo Silveira.

Since forming in 2010, the band's two previous releases "Identity' (2014) (Raising Legends Records) and "Theory of Perception" (2017) have garnered much praise in their home country along with securing opening slots with bands Lacuna Coil, Moonspell, Cradle of Filth, Cellar Darling, R.A.M.P. among many others established acts. In 2018, they were invited to perform at Vagos Metal Fest, one of Portugal's biggest heavy festivals.

9. The Warden (5:27)
10. The Crown and The Gun (4:23)

The band adds:-

"Our new upcoming album will still possess BZ's genome, but it will bring some fresh features you've never seen in our work. It will be heavier, darker, more progressive, and it will make the fans submerge in a turmoil of strong feelings. Fans will certainly feel our same old vibe in the songs, but recognize it has been upgraded, with a more modern sound. We worked freely, with no strings attached, using new elements, making everything sound rhythmically, harmonically and melodically intertwined.  We have certainly not made things easier to ourselves, and had to evolve technically to be able to play and sing these new songs."

and vocalist Sandra Oliveira also adds:

"'Seethe' could very well be considered a conceptual album because the main theme of the songs is unexpressed anger, silent pain transformed into poetry. Its contradictory nature is the liberation of the soul, it's letting go of that lump on your throat when you have something to say. Each song speaks of a particular situation where the silence and the numbness become a vehicle for action and freedom or even utmost despair."

"Seethe" is available for pre-order here.

Australian Black Metallers Hope Drone stream entire new album via Decibel

Australian black metal band Hope Drone are streaming the entirety of their new album Void Lustre via Decibel. The album is set out now.

Take a listen here: https://www.decibelmagazine.com/2019/08/29/full-album-stream-hope-drone-void-lustre/

Picture

Not from dark Norway, as you might expect from this kind of music, but from sunny Australia, the quartet Hope Drone will release their third album Void Lustre on August 30th 2019.

In 2012 the band gave their first sign of life with the digital single "From Mimas To Phoebe". The following year, the self-titled debut was released on OSCL (Australia) and Moment Of Collapse. In their Australian homeland, the band played from now on as a solid support for Deathwish or Relapse bands. Consequently, their second album "Cloak Of Ash" (2015) was also released on Relapse. With this album, the band finally managed to establish themselves at the top of the league of modern post-black metal bands.

For their third album "Void Lustre", the quartet took a little more time. The five songs consistently continue the band‘s path. Nothing is rushed here. Slowly and deliberately, atmosphere and tension build up and then end in a blast-beat thunderstorm. The sound is not strictly bound to (black metal) conventions and oscillates between ambient, post-rock, drone and post-hardcore and sludge elements. "Void Lustre“ is not a blind rage, but a thoroughly breathtaking and intense album. If you are looking for a related band, you will find them at Deafheaven and Wolves In The Throne Room, but Altar Of Plagues and Downfall Of Gaia are also mentioned here.

Hope Drone is:

Chris Rowden (Guitar, Vocals)
Karl Hartwig (Guitar, Noise)
Aaron Pickersgill (Bass)
Francis Keil (Drums)

Lindsay Schoolcraft (Cradle of Filth) has just released her new single "Where I Fall". The song is from her upcoming album Martyr which will be released on October 7th 2019.

Lindsay commented:-

"I’m one of those people who entirely needs to detach to recharge. A “self healer” you might call it. Some people need to be around others to cope with loneliness, but I find when I’m alone I find all the answers as to why I’m depressed or feeling lost. I wrote Where I Fall about this secret place and the thoughts that run through my head"

In addition, Lindsay is a co-founder in the classical meets black metal ensemble Antiqva alongside co-creator and guttural vocalist Xenoyr (Ne Obliviscaris).  She also has a character, Skvllcraft, modeled after her stage persona in the black metal comic Belzebubs; Lindsay contributed her vocals as said character on their album Pantheon of The Nightside Gods(2019, Century Media Records).

Brazilian Symphonic Power Metallers Eve Desire announce new album

Eve Desire, the Brazilian Symphonic Power Metal band, has just announced their debut album "Prelude to Singularity", which will be released in September. The debut album "Prelude to Singularity" will be released in physical format and on all major streaming platforms. The work will feature eight tracks, produced by Thiago Bianchi (Shaman and Noturnall), and released via Fusion Records.

Gestated for months, the album "Prelude to Singularit"y tells the story of a man trapped in the fifth dimension, accompanied only by death. As in a Neil Gaiman story, the figure of death is represented by a wise woman who talks to him about time, space and ephemeral earthly life. Each track is a piece of dialogue, containing reflections of the conversation between man, representing humanity, and Death.

Quantum Physics is one of the central themes in Prelude to Singularity. The question of time, under human perception, the interaction with it, and what is the view of science on this temporal aspect. “We are all lovers of science, physics and mathematics. Putting Music and Science together had everything to do with us”, says Arya Medeiros Cappia, lead singer of Eve Desire.

After personal problems interfering with the release of the debut album, Eve Desire has matured musically, becoming stronger: “This album means one more step, one more step achieved. It was made very truthfully. A scholarship that made us emerge on the record,” says Arya.

Eve Desire is formed by:-

Arya Medeiros Cappia (Vocals)
Wagner Cappia (Keyboards)
Vini Ramadoni (bass)
Lauro Nightrealm (guitar)
Rafael Hernandes - drums

Chilean Black Metallers Lvxcaelis set release date for new album

29/8/2019

Lamech Records announces October 31st as the international release date for LvxCaelis' highly anticipated third album, Maher Shalal Hash Baz, on CD, vinyl LP, and special edition formats. A symbiosis of spiritual black metal and its Bathorian antecedent, here LvxCaelis create a shimmering cavern of haunting splendour, of cosmic weight verily crushed with the tyranny of true masters. Mystical and mesmerizing, Maher Shalal Hash Baz is the sound of LvxCaelis at the very peak of their powers.

LvxCaelis was formed in the year 2004 in southern Chile by Irad and former drummer Etlidur. The band was rehearsing actively during their first years but faced many line-up changes. In early 2009, their first demo, Nigredo-The Dead Head, was recorded in the form of a rehearsal. This demo caught the attention of Lamech Records, which later released this recording on pro tape format limited to 300 copies. In the year 2011, LvxCaelis entered the studio and recorded their debut album, Mysteria Mystica Maxima 23, released one year later by Lamech Records. This album got a very good response from the black metal underground worldwide. Frater N. joins the band that year as their bass-player.

In 2012, LvxCaelis decided to perform live for the very first time. Their debut show was held in December 2012 in Santiago, Chile. In the beginning of 2014, the band recorded a new demo called Slaughtering of the Lamb, which was meant to be an advance for their upcoming full-length. This demo was released by Lamech Records on pro tape format and limited to 300 copies. All copies sold out very fast, and it got great response, as well. In the same year, Irad travelled to Sweden to record the new album and perform a few exclusive dates - this time, integrating members of Hetroertzen for the live performances. The Watchers, the band's second album, was then recorded by Irad and Deacon D. on drums and released by Lamech Records in 2014.

2. Fading into Golgotha
3. Throne of Doom
4. The Beginning was the End
5. Kiss the Skull

In 2015, LvxCaelis was invited to join Hetroertzen on their US mini-tour. This was the band’s first time performing on North American soil, and they got a great response there. Between 2017 and 2018, LvxCaelis focused on preparing material for a new album. During this time, the line-up was completed by the addition of drummer Frater B. Later in the autumn of 2018, LvxCaelis joined Hetroertzen and Sektarism for the "Lvx in Tenebris" European tour where they performed 10 dates over several cities of Europe. After the tour was over, the band travelled to Västerås, Sweden to record their third album, Maher Shalal Hash Baz. Recorded at Lamech Studios by Deacon D., Maher Shalal Hash Baz clearly shows LvxCaelis' musical refinement after 14 years of existence: a vast and visionary work that stays true to the band's original tenets whilst pushing its boundaries ever wider.

First track premiere to be revealed shortly. Cover art, courtesy of Åskväder / 109 Art.
