Baltimore thrash metal savages Noisem are loading their axes of aggression into the van as we speak, preparing to take off on their most widespread and extreme tour to date as support for Skeletonwitch and The Black Dahlia Murder on stages across North America. Sharing the support slot with Fallujah, the Noisem crew will hit more than two dozen cities across the US and Canada with the massive tour from October 24th through November 19th, followed by a newly-confirmed run of headlining dates on their way back to the East Coast. Get there early and watch these young assassins lay down a wall of divebomb-strewn high-octane thrash intensity. Following the Summer release of their killer debut LP, "Agony Defined", which has been butchering its way through top-end international media outlets including Guitar World, Decibel, Terrorizer, NPR and more since its release, NOISEM has just wrapped up sessions at Developing Nations, recording a new single for A389 and some compilation tracks that will surface early 2014. hERETICS iN tHE lAB are currently set to release their new album, "Suture", via Sacrifice Records on November 12, 2013. Today, VampireFreaks.com is unleashing the band’s brand new lyric video for the track ‘Some People’. Check it out now at this location. Main instrumentalist and producer h3 explains the meaning behind the track, stating, “‘Some People’ is a song about pacified people who want be told what to think and want to believe what they're told. It's a warning to make sure those same people know to stay away from me." h3 is the primary backbone of hERETICS iN tHE lAB on "Suture". Although the band performs live with additional members M1 (keys), tB (drums), kV (guitars), h3 creates all that is hERETICS iN tHE lAB, not unlike many of industrial’s greatest musical minds. Drawing comparisons to Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Bile and Marilyn Manson, hERETICS iN tHE lAB has established themselves in the underground goth / industrial scene as a force to be reckoned with while still managing to appeal to more mainstream fans of heavy metal and rock. Known for the shear emotional intensity of their live shows as well as their erratic unpredictable song structures hERETICS iN tHE lAB consistently challenges unprepared audiences and leaves them awe-inspired. Born from social loathing, an evolved conscious, and experimentation in sonic terrorism, Virginia-natives hERETICS iN tHE lAB take elements of industrial music, fine art, post-apocalyptic rock and roll, and avant-garde sound-scapes to form an incredibly intense hard-line industrial music experience drenched in ego and libido. The band has a static video out now for their first single ‘Skin’, available for viewing here. The band will perform at a few local tour dates in the come months. See below for all dates, including the CD release party for "Suture". Upcoming hERETICS iN tHE lAB tour dates: 10/25 Washington, DC @ Phase 1 Dupont – Bound Festival 10/31 Virginia Beach, VA @ The Jewish Mother Hilltop w/ Deist Requiem & Pillbuster 11/12 Norfolk, VA @ The Wave ***CD Release Party*** www.facebook.com/hERETICSiNtHElAB. BAND FACT: Only two members of the original band line-up are in the current line-up: Francesco Lupi & Daniele Valseriati Italian progressive metal quintet, Tragodia, have released the second of two in-studio video diaries capturing the inception of their third full-length, "Mythmaker". Recorded this Spring at Elfo Studio in Piacenza with producer Daniele Mandelli (Forgotten Tomb) and mastered at Sterling Sound in New York City by UE Nastasi (Lamb Of God, Gojira, Paradise Lost), on "Mythmaker", Tragodia employ their skilled songwriting tactics and creates their most challenging album yet, the record unloading a wealth of brilliant musicianship with nearly fifty minutes of new material. Watch "Mythmaker" come to life with the newest video diary, RIGHT HERE, and if you missed it, catch the first installment of the series, HERE. Also watch the band's lyric video for "A Temple In Time" HERE. Italian metal label Kolony Records will release Mythmaker in North America on November 5th. https://www.facebook.com/tragodia http://www.twitter.com/tragodiaband http://tragodia.bandcamp.com http://www.kolonyrecords.com http://www.facebook.com/kolonyrecords http://twitter.com/kolonyrecords BAND FICTION: The band name 'Devil You Know' refers to both the Rosamund Pike film and Madonna's famous single "Better The Devil You Know" Devil You Know is the intersection of three undeniable talents from the world of heavy music. Howard Jones: the former Killswitch Engage and Blood Has Been Shed frontman, who garnered two gold records and a Grammy nomination during his decade-long tenure with the Massachusetts band. Francesco Artusato: celebrated solo artist and guitarist with The Francesco Artusato Project and All Shall Perish. And John Sankey: drummer for the Australian band Devolved, who has also worked with Fear Factory and Divine Heresy. The sum total of the three has come together as Devil You Know, yielding a sound as singular as it is unforgettable. Devil You Know was born out of Artusato and Sankey’s creative quest to stretch beyond their extreme metal backgrounds. The two had written over a dozen songs before even attempting to lock down a singer. “We were unsure if Howard would be interested,” says Sankey.” Yet, when Killswitch Engage’s former frontman received the material, a creative ideal began to solidify. Finally connecting in Los Angeles during the last months of 2012, a highly distinctive sound began to become apparent. “It turned from bare-bones musical ideas into something that surpassed any of our expectations” says Jones. “It went from something we thought was going to be a fun, heavy project into something very real.” It was during a recording session at the start of 2013 with producer and former Machine Head guitarist Logan Mader (Gojira, Five Finger Death Punch) that Devil You Know’s ideas began to materialize into something none of the bands members would ever expect. “It became a departure from what I’m known for,” says Artusato. “I wasn’t focusing on technical guitar parts (even though I still love that aspect of writing) but simply on writing what felt best for each individual song.” “World-class vocalists like Howard Jones are the rarest commodity in metal music these days,” says Nuclear Blast Entertainment’s Monte Conner, whose recent NBE signings include San Francisco Bay Area metal legends Machine Head and European superstars Within Temptation. “Howard has a tonality and richness to his voice that very few singers have. The band’s initial demos got me very excited but sometimes you strike gold. Devil You Know just made an incredible record that has surpassed all expectations. The vocals are everything fans have come to expect from Howard but at the same time there is a depth, dimension and variety to his singing that shows incredible growth and elevates him in every way. Add to that world-class musical talents like Francesco Artusato and John Sankey both as players and songwriters. This is ground zero of something really exciting!” “I had worked with Monte before I left Killswitch and have long known and respected him,” says Jones of the former Roadrunner Records A&R chief. “He has a vision for both music and business that is second to none and made it an easy choice when it came to signing to the label. Monte and the Nuclear Blast staff understand who we are, what we have individually accomplished and where we are going as a band.” While the finishing touches are being put on Devil You Know’s debut album, the writing and recording process “was surprisingly easy,” states Artusato. “When we get together it just works.” The band is also quick to sum up the studio vibe with producer Mader as “intensely creative,” says Sankey. “Logan definitely helped us realize and define the Devil You Know sound.” Jones agrees: “He went from producer, to unsung member, to friend.” “It’s a different style of music for me,” says Jones of Devil You Know’s unique sound. “It’s heavy as anything any of us are known for but I get to do some different things people won’t expect. I’ve been singing almost all my life. Being around good songwriters and musicians in my former bands really helped mold me into who I am now.” Devil You Know’s Nuclear Blast Entertainment debut is currently slated for an early 2014 release, with international touring plans and a full touring lineup to be announced shortly. www.facebook.com/devilyouknowofficial Lumbar's track 'Day Six' from their upcoming Cavernous Debut LP is now live at The Obelisk24/10/2013 BAND FACT: Lumbar is the bottom half of the spine, just above the pelvis and also relates to the abdominal region "The First And Last Days Of Unwelcome", the debut LP from Lumbar -- founded by Aaron Edge (Lamthethorn, Roareth, Rote Hexe, Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth), who is joined by Mike Scheidt (YOB, VHÖL) and Tad Doyle (Tad, Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth) -- is just over a month from release. The brainchild of Aaron Edge, Lumbar came together earlier this year when he was unexpectedly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. What would be his final musical endeavor before waves of rapidly-spreading pain engulfed him and extended hospital stays became more than frequent, is now his most imperative. On Lumbar's debut album, "The First And Last Days Of Unwelcome", Edge is joined by Mike Scheidt and Tad Doyle, who helped bring this intense and important project to fruition. The musical result is as diverse and destructive as one may expect from such a lineup, with the varied influence from this trio of musicians coalescing into seven organic and tonally oppressive movements. Ethereal ghostly passages and spacious expanses of minimalistic disharmony cone to an end in sonic obliteration through mesmerizing and pulverizing, as an array of distinct vocal mantras echo from the heart of it all. Endure the crushing swell of "Day Six" at The Obelisk RIGHT HERE. Preorders for the digital download and 12" LP are up at Southern Lord now, HERE. Southern Lord will release "The First And Last Days Of Unwelcome" on LP and digital formats on November 26th, followed by a CD version direct from the band and a cassette version via Holy Mountain Music, with all of the band's proceeds going to aid Edge's medical expenses and treatments. In the meantime, Lumbar launched a new webstore this week, hosting exclusive new shirts and merch items, with 18" x 24" posters and more to be added soon; check it out HERE. https://www.facebook.com/thelumbarendeavor http://www.southernlord.com https://www.facebook.com/SLadmin http://twitter.com/twatterlord Today, Svart Records announces November 29th as the international release date for Kuolemanlaakso's "Musta Aurinko Nousee" EP. This forthcoming EP includes three new Kuolemanlaakso songs, and a captivating cover version of Juice Leskinen’s classic by the same name. The EP will be released as a limited digipak CD and a strictly limited 12” vinyl with three different colors (100 copies per color). The title track to Kuolemanlaakso's "Musta Aurinko Nousee", which features a guest guitar solo from V. Santura, can be heard here: https://soundcloud.com/svart-records/kuolemanlaakso-musta-aurinko In 2012, the Finnish Doom / Death scene saw newcomer Kuolemanlaakso ascend directly to the ranks of its elite with the critically acclaimed Svart debut "Uljas uusi maailma", which reached #42 on the Official Finnish Album Chart and #6 on the Rumba Chart. In support of "Uljas uusi maailma", Kuolemanlaakso toured its native country, hitting some of Finland’s biggest and most respected clubs, then adding a performance at the 2013 Tuska Open Air Festival. Feeding off of this momentum, Kuolemanlaakso planned new material on the road and entered a secret, secluded location in the forests of Finland, once again with acclaimed producer / engineer / guitarist V. Santura (Woodshed Studios, Dark Fortress, Celtic Frost, Triptykon). In the course of writing and recording, it was soon made obvious that Kuolemanlaakso had not only enough material for a full-length album, but for an EP, as well. "Our goal was to create the tightest and most balanced entities for both releases. The EP introduces our current style in a more straightforward and shorter form, whereas the full-length evolved into something more epic," states guitarist / keyboardist and main songwriter Laakso. "The EP tracks are quite different from one other, with each song displaying a different side of the band and what we are capable of." Cover and track-listing for Kuolemanlaakso's "Musta aurinko nousee" are as follows: Tracklisting for Kuolemanlaakso's "Musta Aurinko Nousee" 1. Me Vaellamme Yössä (edit) 2. Tulenväki 3. Kalmoskooppi 4. Musta Aurinko Nousee Boston Death Metallers Soul Remnants and Metal411.com have locked horns for the exclusive premiere of "No Afterlife," taken from the band's upcoming album, "Black and Blood". A mere sampling of the intensity that is "Black and Blood", "No Afterlife" is now playing at this location. "Black and Blood" will be available via Horror Pain Gore Death Productions on October 31. The Bean-Town Death Metal Vets absolutely nail it in striking that elusive balance between memorable songwriting and unrepentant viciousness. "Black and Blood" is nothing short of a masterful display of compositional dynamics inspired in equal measure by U.S Death Metal and Norwegian Black Metal. If it's a frighteningly intense aural experience that you seek, then look no further. "Black and Blood" is the sound of a band firing on all cylinders. "Note to all the veteran death metal acts struggling to find the energy of their classic releases: this is how it's done." - Metal Crypt "Composing varied tracks without stepping into hectic and dead hearted fret board gymnastics. Fans of technical Death Metal as well as open minded people shouldn't hesitate to give this band a try." - Brutalism "The Dawn Of Consummation And Emergence", the new album from Mumbai-based Death Metal outfit Reptilian Death, is now available on CD and digital formats. The band spent their first 12 years making sporadic live appearances and changing line-ups fairly often. During that time, Reptilian Death had an almost humorous disposition, writing little spoof metal epics like '5 Easy Ways To Murder Someone' and 'Nursery Rhymes For Satan's Children' while balancing a handful of serious tracks which eventually found themselves on their 2004 debut, "Total Annihilation". In 2006, the band's direction took a turn for the serious with the release of their EP "Intestinal Feast" on the "Defaced And Split" album, which also featured Exhumation, Warface and Narsil. Shortly after the release, the band returned to the shadows until resurfacing in early 2013. The band exploded on the scene completely metamorphosed into brand new beast. Fronted by Vinay Venkatesh (Bhaynak Maut), dressed in priestly robes with his face painted half black and half white and backed by a band of masked members Reptilian Death has moved out of the shadows and into the forefront of the global metal community. The world will now see "The Dawn Of Consummation And Emergence". www.facebook.com/ReptilianDeath www.osmrecords.net "Just finished listening to "Aftershock". Thanks to all who voted. www.facebook.com/OfficialLemmy www.facebook.com/OfficialMotorhead Twitter: @MyMotorhead www.imotorhead.com Fresh off a short run of dates supporting Ghost B.C., Athens, Ohio-based blackened metal quintet, Skeletonwitch, has announced a hometown release party for their forthcoming new full-length, "Serpents Unleashed". The show will take place at The Union (18 W. Union St., Athens) on October 23rd, the eve of the kickoff to their extensive North American fall tour with The Black Dahlia Murder. Tickets for the event are just $10. The Black Dahlia tour will be swiftly followed by another lap around America in early 2014 alongside Amon Amarth and Enslaved. Unfortunately for fans in Orlando however, where the tour stops on January 27th, Skeletonwitch will not be allowed to perform at the local House of Blues, as the group has joined the likes of Exodus, Machine Head and others deemed "unfit to be associated with" Disney, on whose property the venue is located. Although Skeletonwitch might be unwelcomed at the Magic Kingdom, a California couple has asked the band to make their dreams come true. During Skeletonwitch s performance in Fresno on November 15th, longtime fans Travis Bartlett and Lanae Forrest will get married on stage -- making local venue Strummer's their own happiest place on Earth. Says groom-to-be Bartlett, "Lanae and I are taken aback and beyond elated that Skeletonwitch are willing to be a part of the most important day of our lives. There really aren't words to show our appreciation for the band being with us as we begin our lives together." Commemorating the group's 10-year anniversary, "Serpents Unleashed" -- recorded earlier this year with Kurt Ballou (Converge, Isis, High on Fire), and featuring artwork by John Baizley (Baroness, Kylesa, Kvelertak) - will be unleashed in North America on October 29th, in Australia, Germany, Austria and Switzerland on October 25th and in the UK and the rest of Europe on October 28th. "Serpents Unleashed" is available for preorder at SKELETONWITCH.com in CD, LP, cassette, digital download and limited edition 7-inch collector's box formats. In addition, you can now pre-order the album digitally at iTunes and BandCamp and receive an instant download of "I Am Of Death (Hell Has Arrived)."
