Rage-fuelled adrenaline junkies Medium give us their own fresh take on the grind/crust style with their self-titled debut. Their approach is not very conventional; there's something unique in the way they blend the best qualities of genres like grind, crust, punk and even death metal and hardcore to make music that's virtually unforgettable. There's palpable energy coursing through the entire album, with each song showcasing a slightly different dimension of the band's own sound. The dark and emotive undercurrent lends to the music a human quality that is not rooted only in aggression like most others in the style; streaks of melodies shimmer through the chaotic blasting parts and leave an indelible effect on you. This is some of the best, honest-to-goodness grind/crust music that you'll come across in this era, and the most commendable part of it all is that this is from a band from Argentina trying their best to make a mark - the talent is undeniable but the effort and intent is exceptional.
American Extreme Metallers Immortal Bird stream new track; pre-order 'Thrive On Neglect' now, tour announced
Thrive On Neglect is the forthcoming new full-length from Chicago-based blackened death grind unit Immortal Bird. The band's second LP, and first for 20 Buck Spin, takes the perilous road of musical diversity and commands it with a bloodthirsty rage.
With a multi-layered sound running the gamut from pummelling grind and death metal to dissonant blackened metal, angular noise, and complex hardcore, Immortal Bird defy simple categorization. The band's compositions fuse into strikingly savage songs, vast in their scope and more than the sum of their disparate parts, merging the progressive and destructive into a maelstrom of raging fire. Rae Amitay's seething vocal exorcisms and targeted lyrical aggression provide the connective tissue holding the stylized violence together.
In advance of its release, Immortal Bird offers up second single, "Vestigial Warnings," for public feasting.
Notes Amitay of the track:-
"This was the first full song we wrote together as our current configuration, and we've been playing it together for almost two years. Finally having it recorded and released feels like a significant step. Lyrically, this one is more 'political' than the rest of the material on the album. I'm not trying to be indirect by using metaphor, but I also don't want to limit people's perspective by being overt. With the 'eyeless, glowing grubs...sickly white, dying still...choir of weakened gasping...,' I'm not saying that I was thinking about certain people who occupy positions of power in this country but... Actually, that is what I'm saying. 'They'll tell you this is how it has to be. Abandon hope and worship apathy.'"
Stream Immortal Bird's "Vestigial Warnings" at THIS LOCATION.
Nearly four years in the making, Thrive On Neglect is a blistering statement of intent from a band ascending into full bloom. Boasting the punishingly heavy production work of Dave Otero (Archspire, Cattle Decapitation, Khemmis) ideally suited for Immortal Bird's tumultuous arrangements and orchestrated chaos, fans of Pig Destroyer, Krallice, Converge, Full Of Hell, Noisem, Cretin, Cannibal Corpse, and Cult Leader, pay heed.
Immortal Bird's Thrive On Neglect will see release on CD, LP, and digital formats July 5th. For physical pre-orders, go to THIS LOCATION. Find digital pre-orders at the 20 Buck Spin Bandcamp at THIS LOCATION where opening track, "Anger Breeds Contempt," can be streamed.

Spanish grind band Ernia are now streaming their new song “Heroes of Withdrawal” via Invisible Oranges. The song is from their self-titled new album which will be released next week.
The site commented:
"Clocking in at three-and-a-half minutes, “Heroes of Withdrawal” is the album’s meatiest track by nearly a full minute. Ernia make the most of this additional time as they usher the listener through a full tasting menu of movements, each course arriving before the previous has barely been touched. The band are ever-insatiable, bounding from one passage to the next in the throes of their unbridled fury while taking pains throughout to craft sensible and mature transitions. This approach promulgates upwards to the album’s structure as a whole, each song flowing into the next with many blurred lines between."

Lifeforce Records are very happy to announce the signing of Portuguese grindcore outfit Besta to their roster.
Escaping from the dark places in the imagination, Portuguese hellions Besta take inspiration from horror movies and blend them into a frantic, feedback-laden mash-up of punk-rock and old school grindcore, imagine Bad Brains mutating alongside Napalm Death, always with their own creative vein on top of every tune they deliver, with a political axe to grind, shouted on their native Portuguese tongue.
With 9 confrontational releases since 2012, and shows alongside Eyehategod, Napalm Death, Cattle Decapitation, Mob 47, Cryptopsy, Possessed, Massgrave, Deathrite, Obituary, Mantar or Conan to name a few, touring between Europe and South America and solid appearances on festivals such as Obscene Extreme or Resurrection Fest.
The year 2019 set a new chapter, signing with Germany´s Lifeforce Records and the band 2nd full length album titled "Eterno Rancor", a socially conscious record from 4 guys that feeds on pulverizing and skull fracturing punk/grindcore, raucous landscapes, and honesty.

Italy's Cripple Bastards release "La Fine Cresce Da Dentro" via Relapse Records; band celebrates 30th anniversary
Relapse Records today issues La Fine Cresce Da Dentro, the crushing seventh full-length album by legendary Italian grindcore outfit, Cripple Bastards. The LP sees its release as the iconic band celebrates their landmark thirtieth anniversary this year. La Fine Cresce Da Dentro is now streaming on all digital platforms.
Recorded at the legendary Fredman Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer Fredrik Nordström (At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity), La Fine Cresce Da Dentro - translated to "The End Is Growing From Within" - delivers eighteen tracks of inconceivable speed and brutality even surpassing Cripple Bastards' intense prior releases. Now in their third decade of delivering their brutalizing anthems to the masses, the album proves that this act shows no signs of slowing down and continues to destroy unsuspecting eardrums with hate-filled, grind-punk chaos.
Cripple Bastards' vocalist Giulio The Bastard declares, "La Fine Cresce Da Dentro is our seventh album and the best way to end the band's thirtieth anniversary. This record sums up all what we have built in three decades of hate-filled grindcore... eighteen songs blasting at relentless speed, rage screamed straight in-your-face through the typical CB songwriting that combines influences from different styles."
Strap in and endure the wrath of Cripple Bastards' La Fine Cresce Da Dentro at THIS LOCATION.
La Fine Cresce Da Dentro is out today through Relapse Records on CD, LP, and all digital formats. Find ordering and streaming options for all platforms at Relapse.com where the band's official video for "Passi Nel Vuoto" can also be viewed HERE.
The Polish grindcore veterans Antigama are proud to announce a brand new video for "Division of Lonely Crows" taken for their latest EP "Depressant" (Selfmadegod Records). This unique flick has been directed by David Sherbrook of Infested Films - an independent horror movie company based in Los Angeles. It tells an allegorical story of a man trapped in a horrid and unexplained experience. Its symbolic visions evoked by the lyrics leave space for interpretation and tease your mind. Starring: Daniel Button, Stephen Craig and Heather Higginbotham, with outstanding FX created by Scott Dawson.
The video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdMP5ExA-Ik
Sebastian Rokicki (guitars) comments:
"I am totally blown away by the work of David & crew. It is completely different from what I've expected and from what I've known as a big movie fan I am. I hope I won't be alone in my opinion because the music and the pictures make a perfect match and leave you with unanswered questions, the true essence of life".
Here is what the director David Sherbrook says:
"I've been a big fan of Antigama's for a while now. I think their music evokes really unique imagery and emotions, and their affinity for Sci-Fi themes is right up my alley, so it was an honour to make the video. I wanted to make something that visually embodies those qualities and leaves the viewer with a sense of dread and unease, while also getting to play around with some really off-the-wall ideas. It was a blast to make and I hope it resonates with the fans as much as it does with me."
Antigama currently promote the new EP "Depressant" and will headline the "Crazy People's Right to Grind" UK tour in September and the "Depressant Over US" tour in October starting at the California Deathfest 2018 in Oakland.

When writing about 'A New Kind Of Horror' in the record's liner notes, Anaal Nathrakh vocalist Dave Hunt is succinct in his description:-
"This is not a happy album, it is bitter, vengeful, sarcastic, sardonic, violent, terrified and horrified, terrifying and horrifying in equal measure. Above all, it is human, and all that that entails. It's as sincere as we could make it." Those exposed to the ten tracks comprising the band's tenth full-length will be unable to deny the truth to these words, for lyrically, musically and sonically it is a punishing listen mired in darkness and seething with raw emotion.
With multi-instrumentalist Mick Kenney pushing their distinctive hybrid of symphonic black metal, death metal, industrial and grindcore ever forward, Hunt draws lyrical inspiration primarily from the horrors of the First World War, contemporary politics, and the letters of D.H. Lawrence, creating one of the most powerful, timely and unique releases of 2018. "There's a lot that goes into our albums, of course, but it all comes about as a natural result of who we are, and for 'A New Kind of Horror' we felt early on that it was clearly its own thing. It doesn't have to stand in comparison with anything, because to us it's in a class of its own."
