The new album of Polish death metallers from Catharsis will be released on June 25th via Mad Lion Records. The band has announced the premiere of the LP, along with the upcoming premiere of the first single entitled "Village Of Witches", which is going to be out June 4th via digital streaming. The new LP “Human Failures” proves the band’s technical inspirations, but also presents the exploration of the new territory, leading Catharsis towards more brutal and heavier death metal sound with a touch of black metal. „Human Failures” is a visible step forward in the band’s musical journey and undoubtedly the darkest chapter of it. The album is being produced, engineered, mixed & mastered by Filip „Heinrich” Hałucha in Heinrich House Studio. All drums parts have been composed by Eugene Ryabchenko (Fleshgod Apocalypse, ex live – Belphegor, ex live – Vital Remains) and recorded by Dariusz „Daray” Brzozowski (live - Dimmu Borgir, ex – Vader) as a session drummer, who gives a truly outstanding drum performance and takes the compositions to another level. One of the seven new tracks, entitled „Made Of Blood” includes a mind blowing guest vocal appearance by the death metal icon Ross Dolan (Immolation). The new album will be issued by Mad Lion Records by the end of June 2021. Catharsis is:

UK festival favourites Skindred have signed a new global four album deal with Earache Records, with each band member signing the deal in different endangered music venues across the country. Earache Records have long been one of the most exciting, forward-thinking and important rock labels in the world, having pioneered many extreme metal bands and in recent years enjoying Top 40 success with bands such as Blackberry Smoke, Buckcherry, Massive Wagons, Rival Sons and The Temperance Movement. Once upon a time they also released the first two Dub Wars albums, the first band fronted by Skindred singer Benji Webbe. Earache Records MD Digby Pearson says: “We could not be more thrilled to be signing Skindred. They are such a truly unique and much-loved band. We have all been huge fans of them since Day 1 and have followed Benji’s career since the very beginning so to have Skindred sign to Earache is something that we are all extremely excited by. We are delighted to welcome Benji back to the Earache family along with his bandmates Arya, Mikey and Dan and look forward to working with them for many albums to come.” Skindred have been hailed on numerous occasions as one of the UK’s best live acts so it was only fitting that the band sign their new record deal with the UK’s most innovative rock and metal label Earache Records at some of the country’s most historic grass roots venues which face being closed permanently due to Covid-19 crisis. It’s the perfect opportunity for the band to bring further attention to these treasured venues’ plight and to show their continued support for the live industry in these challenging times. Earache’s label head Louis Lloyd spent the day travelling across the country to get the signatures from each member, setting off at 8am and covering 450 miles over 13 hours. The venues that took part in this historic signing are Le Pub in Newport (Benji), The Louisiana in Bristol (Dan), The Black Heart in London (Arya) and Brighton’s Green Door Store (Mikey), all of which are on the Music Venue Trust’s red, endangered list. Skindred drummer Arya Goggin says: “We are so excited to announce that we are signing a worldwide deal with Earache Records. I have been a fan of the label since I started listening to heavy music. Their independent attitude and willingness to push the boundaries are something we can identify with in Skindred. It was great to ink the deal at The Black Heart in Camden and shine a light on all the struggling independent music venues too. The Music Venue Trust is something that we feel passionately about and we want these venues to thrive and be part of the future of British Music as well as being part of its history.” Beverley Whitrick, the Strategic Director of Music Venue Trust says: “Music Venue Trust is incredibly grateful to our artist patrons who talk publicly about why grass roots music venues are important to them and their career development. When a band like Skindred do or say something to illustrate how much they value these venues, this resonates with their legion of fans and helps highlight the strong relationship between an artist and the venues and their teams. When we are still asking for donations to the #SaveOurVenues campaign to help secure the survival of the venues most at risk of imminent closure, this is more welcome than ever. To donate to one of these venues, or the overarching campaign see https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/save-our-venues-red-list .” Matt Doom, Venue Manager of The Black Heart says: “In the midst of troubling times for all, and as we come into the final throes of crowdfunding to save our much-loved independent venue due to a lack of government support, we at The Black Heart are proud to be one of the hosts for this important event. Skindred are one of the true stalwarts and champions of the UK music scene and we are stoked to witness them sign to the iconic heavy realm of Earache Records. Young bands need places to play so that they can go on to achieve the heights of what Skindred have accomplished, so it feels extremely fitting to have had them use our (currently dormant) stage for such an event, continuing them on their path from the hallowed spot of Camden Town as so many hundreds of bands do on their own journeys each year.” WEBSITE Canadian Death Metal / Grindcore outfit Ashed have signed a 2 year deal with Vargheist Records The band released their fourth album "Chronic Rot" on the 1st June 2020. They had this to say about the new album:- "Chronic Rot has hints of Gorguts and Demilich all while keeping the brutality found in previous album and releases. If there is interest in physical copies for this album, then they will be pressed. Please let us know via social media if it is something that is worth pursuing." The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by R. @DNKBWLS Studio between April and May of 2020. https://www.facebook.com/ashedtheslamband/ https://ashedslam.bandcamp.com/ Some of the Pure Steel / Pure Underground bands have recorded a few small but important statements about the Coronavirus situation. PURE STEEL RECORDS ® We Bring You The Best In Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Entertainment After two hugely successful albums and an ever-increasing fan base, Black Metallers Nordjevel have today announced that they have signed to Norwegian label Indie Recordings for the release of their next album. According to founder Doedsadmiral, the decision to change labels was originally a question of practicality as much as anything else: "We worked very well with Osmose Productions on our first two albums, and we have no complaints at all, indeed, they were instrumental in making those albums so successful, but we really wanted to work with a local label where we would be able to drop into their offices whenever we had anything to discuss. We had a good discussion with Indie and they came up with the right package and, very importantly to us, a way or working that suited Nordjevel, so here we are - ready for the next stage of the band's development." Being a band that is quite prolific in the production of videos, there is, needless to say, a new one on the horizon, which will be for the track "The Fevered Lands" from Nordjevel's album "Necrogenesis", which was released on Osmose Productions earlier this year. A teaser for the video, which includes a welcome message from Indie, can be seen at https://youtu.be/Cfh77fPhfis Having just finished a 23-date tour supporting Belphegor and Suffocation, Nordjevel is once again set to hit road in June in support of Possessed on their "Devils Over Europe" tour. Routing as follows: 06th June: The Underworld, London (UK) 07th June: Baroeg, Rotterdam (NL) 08th June: Metropool, Enshede (NL) 10th June: Nuke Club, Berlin (DE) 12th June: Old Capitol, Langethal (SE) 14th June: Traffic Club, Rome (IT) 15th June: Slaughter Club, Milan (IT) 16th June: Boveda, Barcelona (ES) 17th June: Caracol, Madrid (ES) 18th June: RCA Club Lisbon (PT) 19th June: Hard Club, Porto (PT) Additionally Nordjevel will be appearing at the Wacken Open Air and Brutal Assault festivals in August. A video by Necrolust Productions for the track "Sunset Glow" from the album "Necrogenesis", filmed during the band's 2018 appearance at the December Darkness Festival in Sweden, can be seen at https://youtu.be/fprsKwAcAyY http://www.nordjevel.no https://www.facebook.com/nordjevelofficial In July Estonian progressive metallers Emphasis have revealed details for their second LP "Soul Transfer“. The concept album, consisting of 14 tracks, will be released worldwide in early 2018 on Japanese label Red Rivet Records. The band has repeatedly noted that they got an unexpected result due to the huge number of musical experiments. “Obviously, this album has a lot of jazz influences. Our guest musicians did an excellent job! So far, this is our most serious work for us. It’s more progressive than a symphonic metal album. And we’re happy about that!"- Emphasis said. LP "Soul Transfer" was recorded at StoneOil Studio (Kivioli, Estonia) by Pavel Korotaev, guitarist, and songwriter of Emphasis. 5 guest musicians also took part in the work on the album, including well-known Estonian jazzmen Raul Sööt (saxophone) and Allan Järve (trumpet), blues guitarist Oleg Lyutskevich (Moscow, Russia), violoncellist Alexandr Smirnov and violinist Julia Mets. “Soul Transfer” is totally concept album: the story of a man, his fate and enticing prospects of eternal life in the context of global digitalization. Female fronted progressive metal act Emphasis was formed in 2010 in Estonia, a small country in Northern Europe, by bassist Katya Gritskova and guitarist Pavel Korotaev. Their music is a mix of classical harmonies, heavy guitar riffs and powerful operatic vocals of their gorgeous front lady Anna Ganina. For the last five years, the band played dozens of shows in Baltics and Finland. Their debut full-length album "Revival" was released in spring 2016 under Italian label Underground Symphony and received a lot of positive reviews. Red Rivet Records was founded in early 2009 in Japan. Red Rivet Records worked with a lot of metal bands from over the globe as a distributor, organizing Japanese tours as a promoter so far. https://www.facebook.com/Emphasis.Estonia/ Even more reasons to celebrate! Wilhelm was founded by Dylan Frederick in mid-2015 with the ambition and passion of giving up and coming artists an opportunity to be heard. “Playing in bands over the years, I never thought I’d get too much into this side of the industry.” Frederick mentions, “Having Victory onboard with our future plans is exciting and very surreal. We plan to make our mark by putting out great music by hard working bands with the same vision.” Wilhelm Records’ has records planned for Hopes On Hold, Postcards From Jane, Mallory Run, American Pastime and Skylines for 2017 with more on the way. Tony Brummel, Founder of Victory Records said, "Dylan has a fantastic work ethic and reminds me of when I started Victory out of my closet in 1989. He is building his label and has a solid roster of developing bands. As so many labels in the independent community continue to get acquired it is important that we help develop and support those with the courage and passion to start new homes for artists. We have had the pleasure of helping labels like Rise Records, Standby Records and Sumerian get established from their beginnings along with many labels that we currently distribute. The independent fire still burns in many of us and I am glad to have another label join our family.” Wilhelm joins GMM, ISCREAM, Luxor, Mutant League, Standby, WAT and a number of other labels that Victory provides distribution services for. |
