Greek prog metalcore maestros Mask of Prospero release new single / video

8/10/2022

Picture

The progressive metalcore whirlwind Mask of Prospero release their new video / single "Lament". The song is the first single out from their upcoming album "Hiraeth", which will be released in January 2023 via ViciSolum Productions.

Mask of Prospero is a progressive metalcore band that was built based on love for the human and the earthly element of life, for the feelings that spring from music, but also for the music that springs from this feeling. The character of a band, after all, is not formed only by the externalization of ideas, but mostly through an internal struggle to construct a unique identity.

"Lament" is a dialogue of the soul, penetrating deep emotions above and beyond what man has been able to hear. It is a form of awareness, emanating from realistic experiences teeming with cynicism and melancholy, based on an axiom: that every person who happens to be a part of your daily routine, even for a while, lives a life as vivid and complex as yours· people who have been in our lives for a while and have treated us badly or made us realize things, and then disappear, leaving behind ashes of experiences, but also traces that may never be erased.

Greek mathcore band Blame Kandinsky stream single and announce album

1/10/2022

The Greek lovechild of Botch and The Dillinger Escape Plan, the raucously brilliant Blame  Kandinsky have announced their forthcoming album Eclectic Ruiner, to be released 2nd December via Venerate Industries.

Blame Kandinsky have also revealed their first glimpse of the album via the strikingly beautiful and viscerally funny video for 'Ruined'.

  • Watch 'Ruined' here: https://youtu.be/A9qnia0rpAg
  • Pre-order Eclectic Ruiner here: https://www.venerateindustries.store/blamekandinsky

Guitarist Marios Samaris comments:

“The concept behind the album is one’s lifelong struggle. In a world that’s asphyxiating with indecency, racism, inequality and greed, we try to stay empathic and honest. Eclectic Ruiner  shares the thought that pain is not an illusion, it is a part of us with a million faces that we observe and it observes us back.“

Of 'Ruined' itself, Marios says:

“‘Ruined’ talks about those periods when you lay really low and you go through a battle with yourself trying either to accept you’re drowning, or to fight back and stand up again. There is no other person involved, it’s just you talking to your past self. The tricky part is that while this is coming over and over again, dredging up the past feels like two sides of the same coin, sometimes it makes you stronger and other times it shuts you down.“

A highly regarded group from Athens, Blame Kandinsky in their time have played alongside  Cavalera Conspiracy, and toured multiple times across Europe. The band released their debut album Spotting Elegance In Chaos in 2017, recorded 100% live, capturing the very essence of a group steeped in the creative tradition of the best mathcore and melodic hardcore.

Due to COVID activity hiatus, Blame Kandinsky used the years to focus entirely on the compositional honing of Eclectic Ruiner. The group’s second album is a broad concept record about everyday struggle – it describes the idea that pain is not an illusion, and empathy is essential in order to survive.

In a world asphyxiated by indecency, racism, inequality, and greed, the brutal honesty of  Eclectic Ruiner shines though. Elements of Fall of Troy, The Chariot, Every Time I Die, and even  Converge also blossom on a record that overflows with fury, melody, and passion. A true gem from the East.

  • Marios Samaris / Guitars
  • Kostas Antoniou / Bass

Picture

Symphonic death metal maestros Septicflesh have revealed a striking lyric video, accompanying their magnificent new single "A Desert Throne'. Depicting a desolate, desert wasteland, completely void of humanity as we know it - one hopes that the end of times is a farfetched, distant future...

Septicflesh's forthcoming studio record Modern Primitive will be released on May 20th, 2022. Pre-order it via various formats and stream the new single now at: https://septicflesh.bfan.link/a-desert-throne.ema

The band commented:

"This is a more epic song with dominant dramatic melodies. Will mankind be leaving behind a barren Earth as its legacy? A desert planet like Mars? For the visualization of the song, a small animation sequence was created by Cloud Factory and was 'dressed' appropriately with the lyrics of the song. Enjoy!"

SEPTICFLESH ARE:

  • Seth Siro Anton | Vocals, Bass
  • Christos Antoniou | Guitar, Orchestra
  • Sotiris Anunnaki V | Clean Vocals, Guitar, 12 String Guitar
  • Psychon | Guitar

Greek powerhouse Suicidal Angels are happy to announce their return to the Nuclear Blast family, after over a decade. The band around mastermind Nick Melissourgos has been busy lately with writing the new album and is now ready to hit the studio in Athens in April.

The band comments on the signing news:

"Through the weirdest of times, we didn’t lay low, we didn’t lay back and wait. With hard work, a never-ending passion for what we love to do, we reach the point where we can share some amazing news with you. After a dozen years, we are in the same exciting position, as in the past, to announce our return to Nuclear Blast. We renewed our vows and we are about to take the bull by the horns and do what we know best! Keep your eyes and ears open, more is yet to come. No matter what, onwards, always!”

Jaap Wagemaker, A&R Nuclear Blast continues:

"Nuclear Blast proudly presents the signing of Greek thrashers Suicidal Angels! Already back in 2009, we released their album Sanctify The Darkness! After that, the band worked very hard building up their name across Europe releasing very strong albums like Dead Again, Bloodbath, Division of Blood, and especially their last album Years of Aggression which secured the band their highest charts entries in Germany, Austria, and Swiss.

Live the band worked very hard on becoming a force to be reckoned with which they clearly showed at their tours with Satyricon and several thrash packages and their shows at some big festivals across Europe. The band has used their downtime during the pandemic really well and is ready to go into the studio again to record their 8th album and is hungry to confirm that they are one of the best Thrash bands in Europe! Although the band was founded in 2001 and they just celebrated their 20th anniversary the band is still young and with re-signing to Nuclear Blast the band is ready to go to the next level!"

Line up:

  • Nick Melissourgos - vocals, guitar
  • Gus Drax - guitar
  • Angel Lelikakis - bass
  • Orpheas Tzortzopoulos - drums

Greek symphonic death maestros Septicflesh release video for their magnificent new single "Neuromancer"

26/3/2022

Picture

Symphonic death metal masters Septicflesh have revealed a new video for their magnificent new single "Neuromancer". The track thunders along with a fierce groove whilst allowing for flourishes of otherworldly atmosphere to permeate the seemingly impenetrable wall of sound.

Pre-order Modern Primitive on various formats and stream the new single now at: https://septicflesh.bfan.link/neuromancer.ema

Guitarist, vocalist, and lyricist Sotiris Anunnaki V. comments:-

"A technologically advanced society, where morals decline and crime thrives, is the 'stage' of this song. The main character is suffering from severe neural damage. In order to receive a cure, and be able to physically reconnect to the global network, he accepts an obscure hacking mission. After all, the virtual reality data space, to him, is more like home.

The skeleton of the song was structured upon the 12 string guitar. The main melody and the various emotional tones of the song were crafted upon this more organic-sounding instrument. Then, after arrangement decisions were taken, the song turned out the way you hear it. Besides the strings, brass, and other standard orchestra sections used, a mandolin takes a lead role preparing for the climax of the addictive chorus and the ultra-heavy main riff. Also, there is a more theatrical interaction with the various vocal styles within our arsenal in this song."

Rockshots Records will be releasing Fortis Ventus' debut album "Vertalia" on June 3, 2022.

Combining symphonic and cinematic elements along with soundtrack influences, today the Greek trio unveils their first single off the forthcoming record. Entitled "My Death is My Devotion", the song captures the pain and faith behind the sacrifices for the ones we care about from the emotions driven by love and loyalty.

"An epic orchestral intro brings us to stormy seas only for the rhythmic triplets to ground us as the catchy melody gets stuck in your head. The vocals sing long notes while the band and orchestra keep a groovy rhythm going. Then it quiets down to a sombre voice that is filled with emotion only for it to return even stronger than before." adds the band.

"Twelve chapters for a total of twelve tracks" says, Halliwell.

The theme of this fairytale focuses on an imaginary planet called Vertalia, where the main character starts their journey to discover their inner truth and the truth of life itself. Through the challenges they face during their journey back to Earth, they connect with their higher self and take a path to eventually achieve inner peace back towards their homeland of Vertalia.

"The audience will be surprised at the intricate orchestrations that hide behind complex melodies on this album. Each person hearing it, will find a glimmer to empathize in every track. We wanted to tell a story and give the listener a variety of feelings and a journey alongside the lyrics."
adds the band.

Greek symphonic cinematic metal trio Fortis Ventus announce debut album

14/3/2022

Picture

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of Greek trio Fortis Ventus for the release of their debut album "Vertalia" on June 3, 2022.

Combining symphonic and cinematic elements along with soundtrack influences, Fortis Ventus formed in 2015 and self-released their first ep "Haunted Heart" in November 2017.

In early 2018, due to creative differences, the band underwent significant changes. The driving forces that remained were composer, arranger, keyboardist George Halliwell and vocalist, lyricist Nancy Mos. Breathing new life into their work, the duo met Gregory Koilakos who would take on the role of guitarist. Together, the three musicians started recording their first full-length "Vertalia" with Gregory taking on both guitar and bass duties for the album, which also changed the band's metal sound with its film score music elements.

Sentimental, dramatic, grand, cinematic, and imaginative, "Vertalia" is a concept album based on a novel-fairytale written by keyboardist George Halliwell.

"Twelve chapters for a total of twelve tracks". says, Halliwell.

We wanted to tell a story and give the listener a variety of feelings and a journey alongside the lyrics." adds the band.

Fortis Ventus is recommended for fans of Hans Zimmer, Two Steps From Hell, Epica, Nightwish, and Kamelot.

The first single "My Death is My Devotion" off "Vertalia" will be released on March 23rd and available for pre-save at the following link: https://bfan.link/my-death-is-my-devotion

The song captures the pain and faith behind the sacrifices for the ones we care, love, and are loyal to. Fortis Ventus is in the planning stages of live performances to deliver an engaging and unique crowd participating visual-acoustic experience.
