Brazilian power metallers Hibria have posted a new lyric video for their track 'Ashamed', which is off their fifth and latest self-titled full length released last August via Test Your Metal Records for North America and continues the band's venture with their very technical playing that’s fast, aggressive and catchy to follow 2013’s ‘Silent Revenge’.

You can watch 'Ashamed' exclusively below:

Hibria are a
Brazilian power metal band who formed in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul in 1996. Hibria has grown in popularity in their home country plus worldwide with the successful release of four albums and a live DVD that showcases their intense concert energy (if ya never seen them in person).

All four of their past albums and live DVD released have reached the #1 position on sales charts for HMV stores across Japan and has lead the band to be support for such bands as Metallica, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth plus perform at Rock in Rio and Loud Park, Japan’s most important Metal festival, where they shared the main stage with some of the world’s most known bands.

Metalcore quintet It Lies Within has released a new music video for their single "Trust in Yourself" on their VEVO page. The video was shot at the band's performance at last year's Dirt Fest, with scenes that look like they could have been shot from The Terminator's cybernetic point of view.

"This video captures exactly who we are and our appreciation to the fans, we couldn't do this without them and a huge shout out to Dirt Fest for having us out!"."Trust in Yourself" is from the band's new full-length Paramount and Scott says "This song is about believing in yourself and overcoming past addictions. Trust in yourself and leave your past behind." says vocalist Zachary Scott

Iconic German metal trio Rage have just completed a hugely successful tour of Europe as special guests to their label mates Helloween. A few days before the tour started, ‘My Way’, the band's brand new EP was released via Nuclear Blast. Now the long wait is over - Rage are very happy to announce that their brand-new studio album titled ‘The Devil Strikes Again’ will be released on June 10th.

Rage Bassist / Vocalist Peavy Wagner commented:

"Here comes Rages hardest record in years! The title says it all and we have captured the band's unique spirit of our classic works. The cover reflects the music - hard and straight!"

The album was recorded in September / October 2015 at Megafon Studios (Burscheid, Germany) and at Soundchaser Studios (Zandhoven, Belgium). The production was handled by Marcos Rodriguez and Peavy Wagner, whilst Dan Swanö (Marduk, Opeth, Dissection, Katatonia) took care of the mixing and mastering at Unisound Studios (Grefrath, Germany). The stunning cover artwork was created by Karim König.

It will be available as a 3CD Digi (limited to 1,000 copies), 2CD Digi, and 2LP (black, white). All editions contain six bonus tracks (incl. three cover versions of Rush, Skid Row, and Y&T). The 3CD Digi also features a bonus live CD from their latest European tour with Helloween and C.O.P. UK.

Canada's long-running and much loved craftsmen of Technical Death Metal are returning with a 33-minute song. Entitled 'Pleiades' Dust' this complex, image evoking, and masterly arranged eponymous track fills an entire EP, which has been slated for release on May 13th. Gorguts are now exclusively streaming part II of the song, called "Wandering Times". You can listen to it via the official media partners listed below.

Mastermind Luc Lemay comments:

"As our EP 'Pleiades’ Dust' consists out of a single long narrative composition, it was not written with the intention of being edited in segments. As the story-line proceeds in chapters though, I was able to isolate this part called 'Wandering Times' which will give the listener a good idea of the composition aesthetics which are present throughout the whole piece. The lyrics tell the story of the 'House of Wisdom', which is referring to a library that was based in Baghdad sometime between the 8th and the 13th century. There much of the intellectual activity of the Middle Age took place while Europe was stuck in the Dark ages after the fall of Rome. Many scientific discoveries were made at the time such as algebra, optics, astronomy, and many more... Without the translation movement that brought this library to life, we would have never had the Renaissance that we know. It is a story about curiosity, beautiful minds and sadly, about how man destroys great discoveries and achievements."

Cover artist Zbigniew M. Bielak adds:

"As a child I was fascinated by the Middle East. My uncle used to work on civil engineering contracts in Libya and Iraq, so we kept receiving exotic, mosque-graced postcards throughout the otherwise lacklustre eighties behind the Iron Curtain. I have a genuine affection towards the region’s architecture, climate and aesthetics, therefore it was a pleasure to illustrate Luc Lemay’s new concept album, which is a tribute to the scientific heritage of the Islamic Golden Age. Although the pun of the album title was not intended – as much as NASA supercomputer Pleiades today, Baghdad’s Bayt al-Hikma – The House of Wisdom, epitomized the Middle East’s scientific sophistication. Boasting the largest library of the medieval world, this vibrant multicultural research and educational center, drew in learned scholars including those of Jewish, Christian or Buddhist origin to translate, preserve and further develop important works of scholarship from across Europe and the Middle East whilst the Occident regressed into Dark Ages. Spanning from the 8th century of our calendar to its symbolic ending with Genghis Khan's grandson’s bloody Siege of Baghdad in 1258, resulting in obliteration of the House of Wisdom, The Golden Age of Islam left the world much indebted also to its numerous original contributions in diverse fields. From astronomy and medicine, to humanities and mathematics, Islam's heritage helped pave the way for the rise of the West to its present prominence. The mind-bending intricacy of Gorguts' aural landscapes portrayed in this single, over thirty minutes long piece of almost classically structured music, lends an aptly dramatic narrative to the story of a leading civilization abruptly returned to dust."

Arizona Blackened Metal band Ghost Horizon have teamed up with Echoes and Dust to stream their debut EP "Astral Possession". The EP is a stunning 11 minutes that fans of Alcest and Woods of Ypres will love.

Band founder Dan Stollings said the following about the EP:

"Uraeus and I are extremely pleased to present our debut release Astral Possession  in it's entirety. It's been very exciting leading up to this moment and it's very gratifying to finally be able to share our efforts with the extreme metal community. We would also like to thank Echoes and Dust for helping get our music out to the masses."

About Ghost Horizon:

The band was formed by ex-Severed Receptors and Psychobliss guitarist Dan Stollings this past year. After a few ups and downs with recruiting other members, Stollings chose to reach out to a former bandmate: Uræus, in his view the best possible vocalist for the band. With a stroke of luck, Uræus agreed to contribute to the cause. With the core foundation of the music set, Uræus went on to write and record the drums as well as the vocals.

With "Astral Possession" completed, Ghost Horizon moves forward into 2016, eager to unleash their brand of black metal onto the world.

As we enter the final days preceding the release of the anxiously awaited "Värähtelijä" LP from
Finland's cosmic black metal visionaries Oranssi Pazuzu, the band proudly unveils the magical visual mastery of their incredible video for the album's pulse-pounding, hallucinogenic standout track, "Lahja."

Featuring a wide cast of captivating characters, filmed in a mystical Finnish wilderness, and embracing a visual delivery as enthralling and adrenalizing as the song's psychedelic progression, the intense video was directed by Janiv Oskar, with assistance from Ilona Lehtonen, and cinematography Lauri Harju. Vice Magazine-operated Noisey premieres the video, issuing, "'Lahja' is an auditory trip, and a visual feast. Set in a snowy Scandinavian forest, beneath the trees' watchful gaze, plumes of orange smoke envelop the pristine white sky, figures in black paint obscure symbols onto pale skin, wide-eyed specters bob and sink in cloudy pools, flames climb high. The world turns blue-and then, blood red. I dare you to take your eyes away for even a second."

Fall under the invocation of Oranssi Pazuzu's "Lahja" video at Noisey RIGHT HERE.

"Värähtelijä" will be released this Friday, February 26th, in North America via 20 Buck Spin and in Europe through Svart Records, with 2xLP, CD and all digital platforms. Stateside pre-orders for the digital are HERE, the CD HERE, and the gatefold 2xLP including limited mail-order only color versions HERE. Texas Hippie Coalition to release 'Dark Side of Black' on April 22nd via Carved Records

"Dark Side of Black" Tracklisting:

1. Angel Fall
2. Come Get It
3. Dark Side
4. Gods Are Angry
5. Hit It
6. Into The Wall
7. Knee Deep
8. Rise
9. Shakin'
10. Villain

After reaching a new level of recognition with their last album "Ride On" and a position on the 2014 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, gritty southern metal four-piece Texas Hippie Coalition are back with their fourth full-length Carved Records album, "Dark Side of Black", to be released on April 22, 2016. Embracing southern roots while exploring a heavier sound than ever before, "Dark Side of Black" achieves a murky, groovier feel while not straying too far from THC's tried and true brand of rugged outlaw rock.

Pre-orders for "Dark Side of Black" begin today and are available here.

"Dark Side of Black is our heaviest album to date for sure," states THC vocalist Big Dad Ritch. "We've learned a lot having made four full-length albums prior. We're trying to use that knowledge we learned to make an album that can maintain what Ride On and Peacemaker bring to the table, yet we wanted it to lend itself more to the power that is the Red Dirt Metal of Rollin and Pride of Texas. So it feels like Pride meets Peacemaker. Top shelf THC meets bottom shelf liquor..."

Although Texas Hippie Coalition are experts at their trade, recording Dark Side of Black wasn't easy at times. THC drummer Timmy Braun comments on his physical struggle while recording the album, having just recovered from a serious infection shortly beforehand. He feels, perhaps, that this struggle influenced his recording style overall.

"About Dark Side of Black, I have never had such a difficult time completing an album in my life," begins Braun. "I say that because my first session I had just got out of the hospital. It was difficult for me to walk let alone play a drum kit. After being in bed for literally two weeks I felt a bit out of shape. Then for the second session my hand was swollen to almost twice its size because of an injury! I couldn't make a fist let alone play a drum kit. However, I'm hoping the vibe I was able to create will have a special flavor that I wouldn't have been able to offer had my life been in order, per say. In other words, tough times make for better art!"

Guitarist Cord Pool adds, "Between tweaking our writing style and being influenced by personal things, Dark Side of Black leads the listener a step closer to the darker and heavier side of what we have to offer."

Stay tuned for more Dark Side of Black information, tracks and videos coming soon from Texas Hippie Coalition.

The Great Old Ones sign to Season of Mist‏

24/2/2016

Season of Mist are proud to announce the signing of The Great Old Ones.
The French Lovecraftian Black Metal cultists will release their next full-length on the label.

Regarding the signing, The Great Old Ones admitted that they:

"
are very proud to announce that we have signed a deal with Season of Mist, one of the most influential metal labels. For us this will hopefully mean a great leap forward and an opportunity to spread the word of our master H.P. Lovecraft even further. The recording of our third album has been scheduled to take place with El Mobo in Conkrete Studio in May 2016.

We all want and have to give thanks to Gérald and all the team at Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions for supporting us since the beginning, and for their kind understanding towards our choice. Last but not least, we would like thank our fans and hope they will stay with us through the new dark tales to come. Cthulhu fhtagn!"

Picture

As their name implies, The Great Old Ones are heavily inspired by the works of H. P. Lovecraft. Like the sinister novels and stories of the American Gothic horror icon, the music of the French delves into the forbidden, dark, haunting, and violent spheres of art.

The band emerged from the old parts of the ancient Aquitanian harbour city of Bordeaux as famed for its secrets as for its deep red wine in the year 2009. Their first album, 'Al Azif' was recorded and mixed by Cyrille Gachet (Year Of No Light) and mastered by the renowned Alan Douches (Mastodon, Tombs, The Dillinger Escape Plan). After it was let loose on an unsuspecting world in April 2012, the reactions of critics and fans were unanimously positive, which opened previously locked doors to perform at shows all over the old continent alongside acts such as Aura Noir, Forgotten Tomb, Nekromantheon, Borgne, Temple Of Baal, and Isole to name but a few – as well as being invited to the prestigious Hellfest Open Air in France.

The Great Old Ones took another step with their second full-length 'Tekeli-li', which garned even higher praise and unlocked further opportunities like a show at the acclaimed Roadburn Festival, opening for Behemoth in their homeland, returning to Hellfest, and supporting Shining in France.

Now the Bordelais are preparing to go further down the path leading to insanity by recording their highly anticipated third album and a full European tour in support of German label mates Der Weg Einer Freheit this spring. Please see below for a complete list of confirmed dates. In hinting at things to come, The Great Old Ones reveal a glimpse of the future by somberly quoting H. P. Lovecraft:

"That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die."

Jeff Grimal: guitars, vocals
