 More than thirty years on from their "Melancholy" debut album, Spain’s premier exponents of gargantuan, emotive, melodic doom / death metal are still forging ahead, redefining their style and creating albums of remarkable power, passion and depth. After the resounding triumph of 2024's "Spreading The Wings Of Hope", the band’s onward and upward trajectory shows no signs of slowing as they are already set to release their new, seventh full length album – "Hubris". Far from a carbon copy of its illustrious predecessor, Hubris is made of rawer, darker stuff. Drawing on the personal struggles and intimate tragedies of everyday lives Hubris is unflinching in its presentation. The past is gone and the band have described Hubris as ‘a very important chapter that truly reflects who we are today’… Beginning with the first single, ‘A Simple Life’, Hubris opens the floodgates of emotion and after a fragile vocal introduction the weight of despair crashes down upon the listener. The melodic chorus leads you with deceptive beauty into a deeper darkness and this desolate journey begins in earnest. ‘The Weight Of The Weak’ lifts the tempo, driving onwards with passages of genuine pace and some quality lead guitar work – something that also lights up the oppressive gloom of ‘Broken Toy’ and ‘Too Late’ – while ‘Blind’ is breath-taking in its overwhelming power, a majestic procession of sorrow. Before the emotionally punishing conclusion of ‘Intolerance’, we find one of Hubris’ many highlights in the atmospheric form of ‘Fire In The Shadows’. This song enfolds you in its black wings, encloses you in surging walls of emotion, sealing you away from the world, isolating you within its austere judgement. Hubris will accept nothing but total honesty and will offer the same in return. There are no flights of fantasy here, just a courageous confrontation with the reality of the world and the reality of our own failings. As the band puts it – “These are not fictional stories, but fragments of real life turned into music”.  To find the ‘rawer, more direct’ sound that they were looking for, to bring out the rugged textures of Hubris, Golgotha turned to producer Davide Billia (Antropofagus, Beheaded, Posthuman Abomination etc) – and together they have sculpted the unique sonic character that this album demanded. The story behind new single, 'Ancient Atrocity,' and accompanying video, has been concocted by the band and their friend SVICIDVL, who helped them to mould the ongoing chronicle. Bonecarver commented on the new single: "Alk Yabar is an ancient alchemist obsessed with an ancient prophecy. According to writings of the Demonomicon, the arrival of the herald of chaos is very close, but for completing the rite that initiates the balance of shadow and light in the world must find an ancient arcane item lost in the vastness of the desert of Yalbalah. Alk begins a journey through the ancient ruins and tunnels of the forbidden tombs of the kings of the last dynasty of Fenhkrir. This ancient and advanced civilisation disappeared overnight without leaving a trace of its glory and its mighty civilisation."

 Spanish thrash metal band, Reaktion, have released a music video for 'To Expect Nothing', it's the title track from their third album, which was released in June 2021. With their latest album, entitled “To Expect Nothing”, Barcelona-based thrash metal band Reaktion completes what they have called “The Existence Trilogy”, after “Blackmailed Existence” (2016) and “Learning to Die” (2019). All the albums have been recorded, mixed and master at Axtudio, one of the most important metal studios in Catalonia. The trilogy, or “thrashology” as they like to call it, consists of three parts: the first record talks about the idea of the death as something that has to happen. The second one, the second album, is based on, since we all have to die, how we can approach life. The last part, “To Expect Nothing” (2021), calls for a life of acceptance and stoicism. 'To Expect Nothing' was recorded, mixed and mastered at Axtudio (Barcelona, Spain).
Reaktion was formed in 2014 in Barcelona and is one of the most important thrash metal bands in Spain. They have toured Spain and Portugal several times, supporting Brazilian thrash metal band Nervosa and twice the classic German speed metal band SDI. They have played in many festivals including Vagos in Portugal, and their last gig was in Madrid supporting Artillery.

The Craig Bernard and Culley Bunker-directed visual shows the band's high energy performance of the song in greyscale as individual members of the band are decomposed into animated particles with a series of visual effects. The 9-track album features the hit single "Start the Healing," which peaked at #1 on the Active Rock chart, in addition to the previously released tracks "Forgotten," which Rolling Stone described as "explosive" and "Lost In The Grandeur," which dropped as a final taste of Requiem just a few days before the record's release. Recently described by GQ as "bold and iconoclastic" and released to high acclaim including recent features on the covers of Revolver and King Kong magazines, Requiem is produced by Korn and Chris Collier. Energized by a new creative process free of time constraints, the band was able to do things with Requiem that the past two decades haven't always afforded them, such as taking additional time to experiment together or diligently recording to analogue tape - processes which unearthed newfound sonic dimension and texture in their music. Additionally, Korn is slated to take their live show across a worldwide run of headline festival and amphitheater tour dates kicking off this summer and running into the fall. The extensive tour begins with a headline performance at Daytona Beach's Welcome To Rockville festival before kicking off EU/UK dates in Amsterdam on May 25th.
