Finnish melodic metallers Dark The Suns drop first single from their upcoming fifth studio album31/3/2022 Finnish melodic metal band Dark The Suns is set to release their yet unnamed fifth studio album later in 2022 via Inverse Records. The first single 'Kun Aallot Kallioihin Murtuu' is released today. Mikko Ojala commets: "Kun Aallot Kallioihin Murtuu is the first single from our 5th album. The song speaks about sorrow and grief and how some day you will have to forget and move on with your life." Listen to Kun Aallot Kallioihin Murtuu single on:
In 2005 Dark the Suns was founded by Mikko Ojala. In 2006 the band grew when three new members (bass player Inka, Juha on the keyboards and drummer Markus) joined the band, which signed with Firebox Records that same year. During 2007-2010 Firebox Records released the band’s three full-length albums (In Darkness Comes Beauty, All Ends in Silence and Sleepwalking in a Nightmare). The band performed many live shows during these years. There have been some changes in the line-up over the years, but Mikko and Inka have been continuously together, making music. The band was inactive for 2013-2020 but in 2020 Mikko and Inka decided to resume making music together. It was a really natural way to continue the band as a duo, because they have written almost all the band’s music and lyrics during all these years. In 2020 and 2021 Inverse Records released four singles from the band’s 4th album Suru Raivosi Sydämeni Pimeydessä. The album includes ten songs of melancholic and melodic Finnish metal music. The band has always described their music as ”Beautiful piano melodies and dark vocals”. Fifth studio album is set to be released later in 2022 via Inverse Records. Belgian extreme heavy metal frontrunners Evil Invaders drop another bomb by delivering epic anthem and third single "Die For Me" - the last harbinger of cutthroat energy released before the band unleashes their newest album, Shattering Reflection, this Friday! The album follows previous record Feed Me Violence (2017), which was highly acclaimed by fans and international press (Deaf Forever 9,5/10 [DE], Rock Tribune 9/10 [BE], Powerplay 9/10 [UK], Spark 5/6 [CZ]). Evil Invaders on “Die For Me”: “’Die For Me’ was the first video script I actually wrote out before we recorded the video. Working with a crew that executed the visual aspect of it exactly as I had it in mind was just killer! The song itself has a strong rock 'n' roll vibe with a lot of anger and insanity mixed into it. I opened some dark and wicked doors my mind while writing this song... Now tell me what you're gonna do...” Evil Invaders’s "Shattering Reflection" promises to be a game-changer for the Belgian four-piece, as the band finds their own formula – twisting heavy metal into yet another extreme direction. The album takes off with speeding banger “Hissing in Crescendo”, followed by the epic anthem “Die For Me”, already destined to become an Evil Invaders all-time classic. A calmer side is explored on tracks like mid-tempo opus “Forgotten Memories”, creating a dense, heavy wall of sound with equally piercing vocals and lyrics underlined by guitar solo virtuosity. That thrilling epos stands in line with “In Deepest Black”, further showcasing how the band has managed to craft a pure classic heavy metal anthem with melodic guitar lines and catchy choruses, creeping relentlessly into the listener’s head. It also proves that frontman Joe has undoubtedly matured vocally, as his voice enters a whole new dimension in all facets. On the contrary, “Sledgehammer Justice” is a furious outburst of classic thrash / speed metal in which the Belgian quartet goes full throttle with hammering rhythms and guitar solo madness! Another album highlight is dark opus “The Circle”, creating a horrifying atmosphere with stomping drums and excellent guitar lines. Fans of King Diamond will definitely dig this one! Throughout the album, the band manages to keep the balance between fast extreme heavy metal with sharp shredding and mosh-worthy tracks, as well as melodic, intense and chorus-oriented mid-tempo anthems. Shattering Reflection is a monster of an album that indisputably proves that, within in a new generation of metal bands, Evil Invaders have developed and matured record after record, just like classic metal bands of yore. Fans will instantly clamour to hear Shattering Reflection in full, and see these sinister tracks performed live on stage! Joe (vocalist & guitarist) on Shattering Reflection: "I’m very satisfied with what we achieved on Shattering Reflection. We’ve created a very versatile and surprising album. Because it had been so long since we released anything new, we had a lot of demo material to choose from and I think that’s what made this record so interesting. We had the time to experiment with the song writing, arrangements and vocal lines. Also the collaboration with Francesco Paoli as a producer was really cool. We managed to truly give the songs a unique vibe. It feels like we’re at the start of a new chapter for the band and I’m excited to hear people’s reactions to the new stuff! It was a long and heavy process, but it was totally worth it!" Shattering Reflection will be available in the following formats:

Band links: Facebook | Youtube | Instagram | On Sliptrick After a long search to find a label to suit their exacting requirements, Norwegian Thrashers Nocturnal Breed have described their upcoming collaboration with Dark Essence Records as "Monumental and Trench-Altering", as the band explains: "It has been an ever-occurring dream for the band to gather the forces at home in Norway. And this March 18th saw this come to pass, as hoof-marks were carved in ink, and a final deal with Dark Essence Records was signed and agreed upon. The last two decades have been spent looking for a label and a ‘safe haven’, one that allows bands to focus on ‘the music’ and the integrity of the product. "Quality, Dedication and Knowhow" in perfect unison is what we set out to find. And this is what we get with Dark Essence Records. It may sound like a cliché but honestly it feels like coming home. It is an honour to serve side by side on the battlefield, with such epic bands and old friends, such as can be found on Dark Essence's roster. As well as having the opportunity to work with the genuinely professional, to the bone, and utterly dedicated people as the ones at Dark Essence. It has resulted in a long-awaited refuelling and re-fusing of the bands inner workings. And so, we raise the iron-flag here in the bunker. The knives are out and sharpened. A new album is on the way and new nuclear fuel is pumping through our veins… This will be a good one Thrashiacs! S.A. Destroyer Bunker Norvegicus

https://www.facebook.com/Gengiskhanmetal https://www.instagram.com/gengiskhanmetal/ https://gengiskhan1.bandcamp.com/ Atlanta, Georgia mathcore upstarts, The Callous Daoboys, have joined MNRK Heavy for the release of their impending new full-length! A recklessly free-spirited collective, The Callous Daoboys is made of six members, featuring a violinist and multiple vocal contributions. Together they deliver a vibrant combination of mathcore, sasscore, and post-hardcore -- a sound that is at once abrasive, chaotic, and classy. Revelling in high-strung extremity their music is dense, impenetrable, and chaotic yet confusingly inviting as each song deliriously swerves across stylistic lines. The band Kill Your Stereo called “insane, intricate, and impressive” introduced themselves to the underground with 2019’s Die On Mars. In celebration of The Callous Daoboys union with MNRK Heavy, the band unveils their new single and video, “A Brief Article Regarding Time Loops.” The track marks a triumphant return and artistic leap forward from their previous material, careening through fractures of abstract and heavy, flaunting their unhinged chaos without sacrificing accessibility. The band’s use of expanded soundscapes is complimentary to their spastic, hook-driven approach to writing, creating a truly unique style of mathcore. Elaborates vocalist Carson Pace of the track, “Capturing your first experience of Déjà vu? Have you heard this breakdown before? Does it matter? What are the intentions of man’s best friend? Start over." Catch The Callous Daoboys live this June on tour with Limbs and Greyhaven. The journey will commence on June 3rd in Amityville, New York and run through June 24th in Chicago, Illinois. Norwegian melodic death metal band Haunted By Silhouettes have just dropped another music video, this time for their latest single "Selkie" which features Björn Strid on guest vocals. "Selkie" is the second single from the band's new EP which is set to drop worldwide on May 6, 2022. The music video was directed by Stian Hoel Fossen and Mathias Jamtli Rye. The No Man Isle EP was planned to become a short concept story written by Mathias. Inspired by poet John Donne, it focuses on themes such as solitary survival, family, independence, and societal humanity. Lead vocalist Mathias explains:- "No Man Isle centres around a middle-aged divorced man that decides to cut all ties with the world, and to live on his family’s deserted island for the rest of his life. He travels to the island and a lot of mysterious things happen that seem to be connected to his uncle's disappearance from the island 40 years earlier." The musical vision behind the EP saw the band turn to a slightly more melodic direction, while taking the song arrangements to the next level, while aspiring to become larger than life. Mathias states:- "The songs are perhaps more melodic and to the point this time around with more distilled, focused details added to each song. There’s also a maritime retro vibe going on with the added synth arrangements that make the songs pop out more and sound a bit bigger, epic and unique." No Man Isle was also a great opportunity for Haunted By Silhouettes to take their unique death metal sound - down a heavier path. Their method of writing, demoing, and finally recording the album was an experience to remember. Stian recalls:- "We wanted to tune down from drop-C to drop-A to make the sound heavier. Per Kristian and I wrote a bunch of riffs and then the whole band took a trip to a cabin in the mountains of Norway to write 7 demo tracks for the EP. From those seven, five songs ended up on the EP." "The meaning of Selkie is inspired by a short-story I wrote to boost my creativity in the writing process of the EP," says lead vocalist Mathias Rye. "The lyrics describes a man that sees something extraordinary that makes him question reality, causing him to doubt his newly-found life-choice (living the rest of his life alone on an island). The overall meaning boils down to how we encounter sudden pangs of self-doubt in life and how we deal with it." Drummer Håvard adds "It’s easy to pick a favourite song while writing an album, and then change your choice later, but “Selkie” has tickled me in all the right places from the start, and when we got Strid on it’s just crème de la crème all the way. Story-wise, it’s an important song for the EP, and the musicality of it sets it apart from the relentless heaviness of our first single, Flock."
