Cypriot Metallers Dark Poetry to release "Specimen" via Deathhammer Records on 1st February21/1/2020 Deathhammer Records sets February 1st as the international release date for Dark Poetry's album entitled "Specimen"! Album will be limited to 300 copies - silkscreen hand-printed CD!In the words of Robert Camassa (Radio producer, Cybc): "Dark Poetry have been gravitating for the past years somewhere between the Lost and Found searching for identity, honing their craft. I'd say closer to the Lost, with botched attempts at recording and the learning curve of life's ups and downs. Their new release "SPECIMEN" unleashes feral soundscapes that suggest they have not just arrived but they mean to conquer. And you don't need to look for them at the Lost anymore. They have been Found. This ain't metal, baby... it is resounding supersonic bestial blues!" Recording, engineering and mixing by Andreas Matheou Mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Dark Poetry emerged from the underground of Cyprus in 2002 and since its inception, the band was dedicated in composing original music influenced by all aspects of being, through the essence of Middle Eastern sounds. Through various experimentations and a line-up change, they set on the core members in 2010, being a 4-piece entity. The band’s first release came in 2018 with their self-titled EP, containing the tracks ‘ghost’ and ‘absence’, setting the motion for their debut album. Dark Poetry’s first full-length album ‘SPECIMEN’ is coming out on the 1st of February 2020 through Deathhammer Records and Undersound. https://www.facebook.com/DeathhammerRecords/ https://www.facebook.com/darkpoetryband/

Drawing influences from guitar virtuosos such as Joe Satriani, Steve vai, Paul Gilbert and Buckethead and bands in the vein of Scale the Summit, Dead Combo, Mono, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater or Deftones, Twin Seeds' goal is to create an alliance between these genres to generate feelings and explore their ideals. https://www.facebook.com/Twin-Seeds-235312296665433/ https://www.youtube.com/user/SnapsterCrow?fbclid=IwAR3tM2C8S_Kepd7S6_bDrWbWule160uYpQ_qGkWeiT_DumXuvDpyvpByAhw In 2018, Mudd Flux stirred the souls of Mid-America with their debut EP release, MDFX, featuring four tracks including the singles All I Am (Am I) and Beyond Our Horizon. Each track is encompassed by the thunderous, articulate roar of the instruments opening an atmospheric space for soaring, heart-stopping vocals. Written and produced by the group itself, the EP personifies their experiences and talent as a whole, as well as defining an unprecedented tone to forge ahead of the mainstream. Extensive touring during the “Accelerate From High” tour, introduced the group to multiple cities, diverse audiences and annual festivals. Many of the performances positioned Mudd Flux in support of national acts such as Davey Suicide, Crazytown, Locust Grove, Sons Of Texas and Aranda. By mid-year, their festival performances included Rocklahoma, Twister Fest, Rock the River, Put Up or Shut Up Metal Fest II, SuSpence Fest and the Midwest Legacy Rally. Moving into 2019, Mudd Flux are just as relentless with their commitment to releasing their first full album via Sliptrick Records, accompanied by continuous touring and festival performances at SXSW and Rocklahoma. The group also have performances as support for the likes of Eve to Adam, UADA and Saxon. Guitarist Keith HD has this to say about the album:- "The title of the album is a reference to that of a nuclear attack, each song can stand on its own, and each song has something different to say. The lyrics do not follow any formula, some are written metaphorically such as 'Escape the Chains' and 'The Lost Ones', and some tackle topics head on such as 'Temptations' and 'Harmacist'. A variety of different topics are covered, from the religious oppression and covered up abuse, to addiction and the pharmaceutical industry." Drawing influence from a broad spectrum of genres and bands such as Parkway Drive and Children of Bodom, Ketos have focused on creating catchy, heavy yet melody driven songs littered with slick and intricate lead guitar work. Those with a penchant for the latter mentioned lead work will especially find First Strike a riveting listen. The album was recorded at JSR Audio with Josh Robinson. "Josh has proven himself to be at the top of his game and was the obvious choice for the results we were after. Overall, we spent about 10 days in the studio, recording the album. We were no doubt a massive pain in his ass with getting the mixes absolutely perfect, but he was committed to getting us the results we wanted." The artwork by Coki Greenway, depicts the Kraken and a nod to the bands home-town of Belfast with the world famous Harland and Wolff cranes, which were used in the construction of many ships including the ill fated Titanic. "We saw Coki's artwork online and immediately knew we had to get him to the art for First Strike. We thought his style suited our style and would compliment the album perfectly. Coki nailed what we were after and we love the finished product. The nod to Belfast is really just a tip of the hat to where we got started and to all the people who have supported us." The inspiration for the music they make comes from everyday life and a lot of musical influences from all over the world. For the band these days, it’s all about having fun with music but still pushing themselves to the limit, this is their mantra and main reason to continue and evolve. They wanna be the best Carry The Torch they can be and nothing less than that. The first release from the band will be the full-length album Obsession to be release via Sliptrick Records later in the year. For the tracks, Dennis and Philip re-wrote 10 old songs and polished them until they were “up to date”. The spark was there, so the band came together to record and see what the future would bring. A lot more metal in this kind of style can be expected from Carry The Torch, but when and how no one knows …keep the flame burning! In Jon's own words:- "I am a huge fan of Fudge Tunnel, Ministry, Godflesh, Sepultura and Nailbomb. I fell in love with ‘For All Those Who Died’ by Bathory on Headbangers Ball and also the ‘Speed Kills’ comp. Since then I have referenced these bands in some of Conan’s material. With Ungraven I pay homage to the industrial sounds emanating from Birmingham in the 90s with a few other influences that I’ve been obsessing over for a while. It’s super heavy but sightly different from what I have done so far.” Ungraven's debut album will be released in spring of 2019, but to celebrate the announcement, Davis has released the track "Blackened Gates of Eternity" on Bandcamp. Listen to the song here: https://ungraven.bandcamp.com/album/demos More information on Ungraven will be coming soon. https://www.facebook.com/ungraven Metal United World Wide United We Stand, Divided We Fall On May 5 this year, the Metal Community will come together for a united event, Metal United World Wide. The Central and Latin American countries as well as Turkey, Indonesia, Thailand and India should not come unexpected either. But how about Kenya, Zimbabwe and Gabon? The first line-ups have already been announced and you might want to have a look at them and check out bands from all parts of the world. Or take a trip to one of the shows? Chilean metal band Half Blood have released their Official Video for "Self Exile," the second single off of their self-titled, debut album due out later this year. Watch "Self Exile" here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBhsjZ1rpbI "We were really tired about the empty lyrics of pop music, even on the metal scene in some cases, there's so much happening around the world right now and it seems that it didn't care, true pain, true horror, but all that matters now are how big is your ass or how much money do you have playing like a fake gangsta, so fuck it, we choose Self Exile." - Half Blood
Half Blood was created in late 2014 when Manuel Castillo (ex-Dissors) and Pablo Abatte (Nueve Círculos) began the search for a new live and studio, professional sound. Javier Contreras (ex-Dissors) later joined the project and together they started composing Half Blood’s first songs. In the process of finding Half Blood’s sound, Sebastián Aguilera (ex-Wormhole Project) and Francisco Arévalo (electric bass professor from Instituto ProJazz and session musician) joined the band. After writing 15 songs and with the intention of recording they got in touch Logan Mader (ex-Machine Head and producer for Gojira, Cavalera Conspiracy, Fear Factory, etc.) who showed interest in the project and took it on. The Half Blood debut, self-titled album was recorded at Logan Mader Studio in September 2016. Due to personal differences, Javier Contreras stepped aside, giving way to Ismael Gutiérrez (ex-Sumission and Kitsune Metaru). Half Blood will be released in mid 2017 and will be available in physical and digital format through Itunes, Spotify, Amazon. https://www.facebook.com/HB.MetalBand/ Ninjaspy, a trio of blood brothers have been experimenting with metal fusion since 2006. Hard, heavy, hook-laden music that runs the gamut of reggae, surf, metal and more make up the band’s rule-breaking formula for notoriety. All this combined with an explosive and powerfully unhinged live show got Ninjaspy off the ground in a hurry. Releasing their 2007 debut 'Pi Nature' and their 2013 EP 'No Kata' with a graphic novel, the band of brothers have teamed up once again with prolific producers GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mudvayne, Gallows) and Ben Kaplan (Biffy Clyro, Atreyu, Haste the Day) for their next full length 'Spüken' due out April 14, 2017. Years in the making since spring 2014 when Ninjaspy launched the "Jump Ya Bones" and crowd funding Campaign, the band was able to raise $15,000 to fund the new full length. They began recording in November 2014, taking their culmination of nearly a decade of songs and narrowing them down to an epic 10 track experience to demonstrate all their downbeats to breakdowns to their weaving of reggae, hardcore, metal and much more. "These 10 songs span a decade, so there are a lot of different feels happening from song to song that represent what we got into over the years. It's like we spent 10 years swallowing everything life threw at us, then we threw it all back up again, and are now able to listen to the blended, half-digested version of it." says vocalist / guitarist Joel Parent. 'Spüken' was recorded and mixed sporadically over the next two years at in Vancouver BC and in the spring of 2016 between recording sessions, the band teased fans with a filmed and recorded live acoustic performance of their track 'Azaria', a song that is included with full metal instrumentation on the new genre-bending album. It showed the true diversity of the band and their ability to take manic and intense music and make it tender and raw. The band's first full single / music video 'Speak' can be watched at the following link below and can be downloaded from their online store, iTunes, CD Baby and Bandcamp.
