Israeli progressive metal wizards Scardust have released a music video for ‘Addicted‘ , the track is taken from their new album ‘Strangers‘, which will be released on October 30th, 2020 via M-Theory Audio. The YouTube video can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/lxJsPhHHntQ
"In Tantibus II we met the one who decided to disconnect from reality into her own mind, and now in Addicted we find that there is someone who cares about her. She tries to show her the meaning of addiction, and explain to her that she is running away instead of facing reality. This video shows us the passage between the worlds of reality and addiction. The character in Addicted can walk freely between those worlds, she is neither stuck nor fighting to get out. The choir represents the way out, and the string quartet represents the way in."
Scardust has also launched the “Mist Cover Challenge”, an invitation for fans to play or sing along with the final minute of the new song “Mist”, the closing track of “Strangers”, with the chance of winning a deluxe package of signed CD and vinyl copies of “Strangers”, a new design Scardust t-shirt and guitar picks. Join the challenge here: https://scardust.co/mist-cover-challenge
Vocalist Noa Gruman explains:-
"Strangers deals with the concept of being estranged. Written from multiple perspectives, it explores the ways in which people can be estranged from one another, from themselves, from society, from their loved ones and even from their own subconscious. After the overture, which introduces musical themes, the album separates into two parts. Every song from the second part is a mirror image of a parallel song in the first. Each pair of songs tells the story of a pair of strangers. They can be played together as a stand-alone piece, as individual songs or as part of the album, whatever the listener’s heart desires.”
The album was mixed by Yonatan Kossov and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Devin Townsend, Arch Enemy).

Tantibus is a word with Latin roots, meaning “Nightmare”. Some say it is an evil spirit that puts the sleeper into a state of Paralysis. It has the monstrous character of a nightmare and produces a feeling of anxiety or terror.
Tantibus II continues the story of the song Tantibus (the first ever single and video the band officially released, back in 2015) in which the protagonist is stuck within a Sleep Paralysis and is looking for a way out.
In Tantibus II the protagonist becomes addicted to this feeling, describing it as “taming her demon”, disconnecting from reality into her own mind in which she can now feel safe.
The EXIT sign represents the way out of the nightmare, as seen in Tantibus when the protagonist chases it without ever reaching it. Tantibus II’s opening shot is an EXIT sign broken into pieces at the feet of the protagonist who is holding a hammer. This is when she decided to destroy her way out and sink into her nightmare.
Soon we will find out that in reality there is someone who cares about our protagonist, and they will get to show their side of this story in the very next song to be released. Can you guess what it’s called? Check our YouTube channel on Tuesday September 15th to see if you’re right.

Each pair of songs tells the story of a pair of strangers. They can be played together as a stand alone piece, as individual songs or as part of the album, whatever the listener’s heart desires.”
“Strangers” was written and composed jointly by singer and band leader Noa Gruman and Orr Didi, who also collaborated with Gruman on “Sands of Time” – which was hailed by Prog Magazine as “extraordinary” – and Scardust’s debut EP “Shadow.” The album was mixed by Yonatan Kossov and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Devin Townsend, Arch Enemy).
The recording sessions for “Strangers” began in the winter of 2020. From there, the band was faced with the outbreak of COVID-19, which brutally destroyed their recording plans, ironically forcing them to continue the process in isolation, estranged from one another, in their individual home studios.
The album’s guest of honour is Patty Gurdy, a fantastic German folk musician and a dear friend of the band. The band’s relationship with Patty began two years ago after mutual admiration led to a guest appearance at a Berlin concert by the band. Friendship blossomed into a combined Scardust/Patty Gurdy UK tour in 2019 and now culminates in the track “Concrete Cages” on this album. Inspired by Patty’s unique playing, singing and character, this song was tailored by the band especially for her. They planned to record, perform a show and shoot a video together in Tel Aviv, but unfortunately, just days before Gurdy was due to travel, all flights between Germany and Israel were banned, forcing them to change their plans and adapt to the new reality. Eventually, Gurdy recorded in her home studio in Germany with support by Gruman via video chat from Israel, in tune with the times.
“Strangers” also continues Scardust’s tradition of featuring lush and expansive vocals by the Hellscore choir. Gruman founded Hellscore for the recordings of the band’s previous album, and they have returned to reprise their role on “Strangers.” Since forming, Hellscore have also recorded and performed with Amorphis, Therion, Ayreon, Orphaned Land and many more.
In addition, the album features the vocals of England’s prestigious Westbrook Hay Prep School Chamber Choir, who have performed at London’s famed Royal Albert Hall.
“Recording the Westbrook Hay Prep School Chamber Choir led by Chris Wagstaff was one of the highlights of the recording process for me, and delivered a magical moment on the album. I flew to the UK especially to conduct and record them with Tony Wilson. The choir, made up of about 40 kids between the ages of 8 and 11, had prepared with great diligence and dedication, and their wonderful voices add magic to the song ‘Huts,’ which speaks about the wish to return to a simpler way of life.”
Israel’s leading progressive metal group, Scardust has performed at such major festivals as Ramblin’ Man Fair (UK), Metaldays (Slovenia) and Midi (China). In addition, the band hosts the annual “Scarfest” event in their home country, where they’ve also appeared alongside the likes of Therion, Epica and Symphony X.

Israeli Prog Metallers Subterranean Masquerade sign with Sensory Records; new album impending + teaser posted
New Jersey-based progressive metal source Sensory Records has signed Israel's long-running troupe Subterranean Masquerade. The band has recently completed their fourth LP, Mountain Fever, which is being prepared for release in the months ahead.
Subterranean Masquerade, which until recently was considered a cult studio project for fine taste followers, has transformed over the last two years into an exciting, colourful live act, mixing the traditions of heavy metal together with the aesthetics of world music performance, spiritual punk and pure rock 'n' roll. Praised by music journalists all over Europe and beyond, the band has taken over the stages, showcasing a distinctly audacious execution of their complex songwriting while maintaining an almost magical grip on their audience, reviewed as rave parties for metalheads.
Led by guitarist Tomer Pink, Subterranean Masquerade was previously fronted by Green Carnation vocalist Kjetle Nordhus and Novembers Doom's Paul Khur. The band officially announces its new line-up - a fully Israeli collective of musicians hand-picked from the top of Israel's prog scene - under which the band has been touring with and recording since 2018. Now, the band is heading towards new ground; the spearheads of Israeli progressive oriental metal are back with their most diverse album yet.
With their fourth LP, and sixth overall release, Mountain Fever was recorded between Golan Heights to Fascination Street Studio (engineered by David Castillo) and mixed by Jens Bogren (Leprous, Katatonia, Opeth). Here, Subterranean Masquerade continues pushing the balance between pioneering experimentalism to their own take on modern pop culture and its manifestation in the Middle East. Revealing an album comprised of African and Balkan brass sections, Arabic violins, extended vocal techniques, and several special guest appearances, the band explores radio friendly hooks that emerge out of heavy riffs and polychromatic arrangements.
See a brief teaser for Subterranean Masquerade's Mountain Fever RIGHT HERE. Watch for an official release date for Mountain Fever to be announced alongside full audio samples and much more over the coming months.

Lasting over one hour across 13 tracks, ‘In The Name Of The World Spirit’ will be definitely a must-have for all those who are into progressive metal with ethnic influences. This final chapter of the trilogy is a bridge between the western and the eastern cultures, besides a huge step towards a top-notch production. The balance between the instrumental parts and the vocals are now improved, while the ethnic arrangements are driven by the magnificent Weza Meza Choir ensemble from Congo. Once again, thanks to the massive choir section, ‘In The Name Of The World Spirit’ sets a new standard into the so-called “Gospel Metal” scene.

Check out 'Fortune Favors The Brave' here:- http://bit.ly/FFTB_Video
The title track "Fortune Favors The Brave" reveals the new sound of Desert - raw War Metal vehicle propelled by twin-guitar engines, steered by crunchy vocals, and firing blazing-fast drums, assembled in a virtuoso performance - the Israeli are taking no prisoners this time!
The first single delivers a call for gender equality through the story of legendary WW2 air-force ace, with a comic-strip animated video, both very unusual for the genre.
The video graphics were drawn by the amazing Italian artist Federico Mondelli (Frozen Crown, Be The Wolf ).

“We are very excited to be working with M-Theory Audio, whose philosophy of co-operation between artists mirrors our own. It's great to have the 'Sands of Time' CD released globally, and the pressing of a double vinyl LP which will include our EP 'Shadow' is something that would have been impossible for us to do as an independent band. Signing with M-Theory, as well as working on new material and preparing for summer festivals, makes us feel that the future looks very bright for us, and we can't wait to bring our epic experience to new crowds and new heights.” says SCARDUST vocalist Noa Gruman.
Scardust who have previously performed alongside the likes of Symphony X, Therion and Epica – will next perform live in Tel Aviv, Israel on April 11.

Israel's Dim Aura premiere "Black Heretic Hate" via No Clean Singing, taken from upcoming album 'The Triumphant Age of Death'
Israeli black metal misanthropes Dim Aura will release their sophomore album, The Triumphant Age of Death, on March 22nd under the banner of Saturnal Records. As the first taste of the album, the band is currently streaming the third track "Black Heretic Hate" exclusively via No Clean Singing.
CD will be available for pre-order in the mid/late February.
"Mercy is a foreign concept in this track, and sometimes that’s exactly the kind of catharsis we need.." — No Clean Singing comments on the single, Black Heretic Hate.
"'Black Heretic Hate' is a track depicting an onslaught on organized religion" — proclaims the band.
Stream the track exclusively via No Clean Singing, AT THIS LOCATION
Hailing from Tel Aviv, Dim Aura was stormed into the scene in 2010 as a quattro of black metal nihilists who have remained musically chained together since the inception of the group. After the EP “R.U.S.T." and a slew of live annihilations and studio sessions, the Israeli misanthropes unfurled their debut album "The Negation of Existence" in 2013.
Dim Aura presented their terror manifestation in the foreign soil by appearing at Meh Suff! Metal-Festival 2014 and Steelfest 2015. Locally, they shared stage with Bölzer, Trepaneringsritualen, Necrophbic, aside from playing at other numerous local festivals.
2017 saw the arrival of their first 7" EP “Negged”, driving the bands compulsory urges towards their forthcoming sophomore album.
The Dim Aura pact is sealed and concealed, with no way in and no way out. Through the past decade the pact has always been active, always conjuring, always terrorizing and never resting – and this torment of humanity is now made an alliance with Saturnal Records for the upcoming full-length, The Triumphant Age of Death, with an aim to beget a new era by spreading their vision, plague and terror ritual further upon mankind. Eschewing trends and mediocrities, the band is known for integrating various genres into their bleak and dismal Black Metal sound, ranging from old school punk to dark '80s and beyond. This album is no exception — a massive wall of sonic hatred.
