Coffins of November Acclaimed melodic Doom / Death Metal experts, October Tide, have announced details regarding their forthcoming 5th studio album, titled "Winged Waltz". Set to be released on April 22nd via Agonia Records, the record will feature eight brand new tracks and cover artwork prepared by Albin Högbom. Alexander Högbom (vocals) commented on "Winged Waltz": "This is undoubtedly the best and most emotionally charged material October Tide has created, in my opinion. I know how much hard work Fredrik (guitars) has put into making this album and you can really feel the thought behind it all. I almost injured myself physically and was close to pass out a couple of times during the recording of the vocals. I gave it all to match the intense music and those powerful lyrics and I'm very happy with the result". The successor to "Tunnel Of No Light" (2013) has been recorded, mixed and mastered in Wing Studios (Demonical, Centinex, Diabolical) in Sweden and produced by Sverker Widgren. "Winged Waltz" will be available in the following formats:

Pop metal sextet Alesana has released part two of their "Comedy of Errors" music video / mini-movie via Loudwire. The conclusion of this chapter highlights a critical turning point of "The Annabel Trilogy" (the story in which their three album concept was based on). "Comedy of Errors" (from the new full-length, "Confessions") and it's accompanying video series is complete with an intriguing storyline of love, mystery, and time travel.
"Today is the day my inbox will stop being flooded with 'where is part two?!'," says guitarist / vocalist Shawn Milke. "Director Justin Reich knocked this out of the park. It is always a pleasure to work with him and to watch his creative eye bring our characters to life was a wonderful experience. The video does a great job of answering questions while still leaving plenty of ambiguity as we get closer to the release of the full written story. May the emptiness continue to haunt you." "Confessions" is available on iTunes. Southern German Black Metallers NARVIK have finished the recordings for their upcoming album "Ascension to Apotheosis". At the moment, the album is in the mix and mastering process. The release is planned for April 2016 via Folter Records. The track-list is available now: 1. Invokation 2 2. Wounds of Aspiration 3. Geist zu Scherben 4. Psychotic Redeemer 5. Fecundity of Death 6. Berstende Säulen 7. The Shore 8. The band checked in with the following comment: “Next to playing a US tour and a bunch of dates in Europe, The Haunted are hard at work for the follow up album to 'Exit Wounds'. The material we are currently looking at is both super-heavy and dynamic, so we are excited to be recording the new tracks later in the year. Stay tuned!“ The band will embark on a US tour with label mates At The Gates tomorrow and have also announced a string of European club-shows and festivals for 2016. In January 2015, everything changed for Asking Alexandria. The chart- topping, gold-selling UK hard rock outfit parted ways with singer and founding member Danny Worsnop. On the outside, the future might’ve seemed uncertain—even grim—to some, but Ben Bruce [lead guitar, vocals], James Cassells [drums], Cameron Liddell [rhythm guitar], and Sam Bettley [bass] dusted themselves off, lifted their chins, and got right back up. “We hadn’t reached our destination yet, and Danny had,” admits Bruce. “I think it was necessary. When it happened, I was devastated. I lost my best friend. We even started referring to this part of our career as ‘The Black period.’ It was the darkest time, but we weren’t going to give up. If he hadn’t left, I don’t think we would’ve been as inspired as we were. I also don’t think Asking Alexandria would still be around. Instead, we’re more excited than ever about this band.” In order to properly do that, the band actually turned to a fan. Ukrainian singer Denis Stoff gained notoriety posting Asking Alexandria covers on YouTube and consequentially inked a deal with Sumerian Records in his band Down and Dirty. Bruce shot him an email one night. The next day, a new Asking Alexandria song had vocals and a new era in the band’s history took form. Periphery, the DC-based technical metal band whose double album, "Juggernaut: Alpha and Juggernaut: Omega", debuted at #15 and #16 on Billboard’s Top Albums’ chart, have returned to the studio to record their fourth album. “I’m really stoked to be back writing and recording new material with the band,” said bass player/production wizard Adam “Nolly” Getgood. “It feels like everyone is really on the same wavelength. I can’t wait for people to hear the new songs – we’re exploring a lot of new territory for Periphery, I’m very excited to hear the results once the whole process is finished.” The as-of-yet untitled album will arrive in early summer via Sumerian Records. Periphery recently announced the “Periphery Summer Jam,” a four-day immersive experience (July 25 to 29) featuring instrument and production clinics, songwriting tutorials and exclusive live performances set amidst the mountains off the Hudson Valley at the Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, New York. “We’re going to give you an in-depth look at our songwriting process, what we do in the studio and on tour,” said guitar player and Guitar Player columnist Mark Holcomb. “We also just kind of wanted to hang out with our fans.” More information and registration is available via www.peripherysummerjam.com. www.facebook.com/peripheryband www.twitter.com/peripheryband instagram.com/periphery www.periphery.net Urgehal are now premiering their complete forthcoming full-length 'Aeons in Sodom', which has been scheduled for worldwide release on February 12th. Twisted Mass of Burnt Decay (Autopsy cover) When Trondr Nefas sadly passed away of natural causes at the age of 34 on May 13th in 2012 this also sealed the end of Urgehal. Out of friendship, respect and as a tribute to their late singer and guitarist, the Norwegians decided to go ahead with producing a final album. Half of the material on 'Aeons in Sodom' was written by Trondr with the other half contributed by guitarist Enzifer. Urgehal invited close friend and band mates from other projects of Nefas to contribute and those honoured in this way all joined to pay homage. 'Aeons in Sodom' is therefore a very special record – a work coming from the heart that is truly keeping the faith and spirit of original Norwegian black metal. This album is adhering to the principles that Trondr Nefas demanded to be followed such as a strict policy of using satanic and misanthropic lyrics as well as a dirty and harsh sound. Urgehal emerged onto the scene with a massive brutality and onslaught of fierceness that challenged even the underground of Norwegian extreme music. Their vitriolic viciousness became apparent already during the band's demo days with 'Ferd' (1994) and 'Rise of the Monument' (1995). This raw impression was further enhanced by the release of their debut album 'Arma Christi' (1997). With the crushing second full-length 'Massive Terrestrial Strike' (1998), Urgehal finally established their name among the most aggressive black metal hordes. While the Norwegians remained true in their traditional approach to this style during the follwoing albums 'Atomkinder' (2001), 'Through Thick Fog Till Death' (2003), 'Goatcraft Torment' (2006) and also their latest 'Ikonoklast' (2009) there were always slight but effective changes that added dynamics and an unholy groove. Urgehal have reached the end of their road with 'Aeons in Sodom', but the black metal icons are going out with a massive strike more than worthy of this occasion. Lacuna Progressive death metal masters Falljuah will release their third full-length album, entitled ‘Dreamless’, on April 29th via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.
‘Dreamless’ was recorded at Sharkbite Studios with producer Zack Ohren (Animosity, Suffocation, All Shall Perish, Decrepit Birth), and was mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis (Devildriver, Cannibal Corpse, Whitechapel, Black Dahlia Murder, Carnifex) in Orlando, FL at Audiohammer. Cover art was created by Peter Mohrbacher. Fallujah caused quite a stir in the music world with the release of their latest album, ‘The Flesh Prevails’. It topped several ‘best of 2014’ lists in not only the metal world, but also in the progressive music community and won over scores of new fans with their fresh, emotive, and technically challenging music. As a result, Fallujah has paved the way for a new melodic and atmospheric perspective on death metal. Fallujah’s commitment to crafting forward thinking music, has helped them build their own die-hard fan-base from the ground-up through several releases; 2009’s ‘Leper Colony’ EP, 2011’s ‘The Harvest Wombs’ LP, ‘Nomadic’ EP in 2013, and most recently their critically acclaimed album ‘The Flesh Prevails’. ‘The Flesh Prevails’ was mixed, mastered and engineered by Zach Ohren at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, CA over the course of a few months. It features guest appearances from Christian Muenzner (Spawn Of Possession, ex-Obscura, ex-Necrophagist) and the voice of Roniit Alkayam. The cover artwork was a collaborative effort between Poland's Tomasz Alen Kopera and the band's vocalist, Alex Hofmann. Check out the track ‘Sapphire’ taken from ‘The Flesh Prevails’ here.
