Switzerland's Soulline reveals artwork and track list for new album "The Deep".

Soulline's new album The Deep is in production - it will be released in September via Profane Records, the exact date will be announced shortly.

An album that was born from our 'as-usual" desire to play. A desire that never lacks from that far away 2000, the year of the beginning of our journey called Soulline. We wanted to create new music to express what we feel inside... and this time our thoughts were "deep".

The Deep's lyrics are a full immersion in the chaotic depths of the human soul. The sound of The Deep" is 100% Soulline: a mix of power and melody, melancholic harmonies that take you into a dark dimension, in the deep down.

In this album, compared to the previous Welcome My Sun, Ghebro will also sing some clean parts. The mix was entrusted to the expert hands of Dan Swanö, Swedish producer who has become an indispensable pawn in the Soulline's sound. The keyboards of the young artist Enea Adami and the drums played by Edo Sala (Folkstone) give The Deep the right final contribution.

The graphic has been entrusted to Seth Siro Anton: designer, artist and bass player/singer of the Greek group Septic Flesh.

Seth has curated the artworks of many bands on the international metal scene, standing out for its graphics always very "strong" and full of details.

Seth Siro Anton spoke on The Deep:

"This is one of the strongest work that I made, original powerful and with a lot of details. I wanted to make something new, fresh and original. So we have a killer Female Figure which represents totally the chaotic depth of Human existence."

Irish Extreme Metallers Seznar arise from the ashes of Coldwar

27/4/2018

Picture

From the ashes of Dublin veterans Coldwar, Seznar have emerged, even more enraged and potent as before delving far into philosophies and marrying it with the raw energy of extreme metal.

Vocalist Trevor McLave explains that:-

"Inspiration behind the name derives out of numerous relating sources. The argument put forward in Ernst Cassirer’s essay on man, where he argues man is a symbolic animal being one. Senzar, as the mystery of the mystery language, whether this be mythological or not, is in my opinion, in itself a measurelessly potent idea for a name. With regards to Coldwar. That was a project with which the line-up varied over the years. It was consistently transforming. The later Coldwar was by all rights something other than what it had started as. Due to dynamics and politics from within the band it transpired the time was right to allow what was manifesting to become something within its own right. Which is exactly what it now is."

The band will release their untitled debut record, an EP on 20th July 2018 via Hostile Media, and today have released the first taste of what's the come.

Listen To 'CII' - https://youtu.be/3eTIu4LiEl8

McLave adds:-

"Not to be pedantic but, it’s not a self-titled release, it’s non-titled. We wanted to take our musical ideas a lot further than we were able to with Coldwar, elements of which were hinted at on Pantheist. Creating atmosphere and soundscapes which hold measureless potency, correlating with the lyrics and retaining raw energy and heaviness was our goal. Regarding the lyrics, I guess there are rudiments of consideration regarding mankind’s position in the greater scheme of the cosmos. Beyond that, it really is something purposely devised as being unfixed, thus open to beholders interpretation."

Picture

Characteristically esoteric, Senzar are inspired by the relation of the human condition to the complexity and mystery of the cosmos. Motivated by the obscure yet intelligible patterns of order from chaos and our natural creative impulse, and being influenced by the darker, more challenging cultural output of modernity, they articulate a metaphysical engagement between the self and the natural world.

"The music is an endeavour to explore the unity and multiplicity of Being," states vocalist Trevor McLave. "Both interpretive and descriptive, it explores beyond the scope of the rational gaze to disclose the world, which, understood as a totality of all things, we are embedded in, and fundamentally related to in ways which are mystical."

Commented the band:

"Think the time has come to make an “official” announcement; we are done with the demos and one more time, we will be heading to Dugout Studios, Sweden this Tuesday to record a new EP with one of our “fifth members”, Daniel Bergstrand. Stay tuned for more news!"

[Studio-pic above: "Magic started to happen; this is how the "Doc" making the sound, not only hearing it but feeling, too."]

On September 1st 2017, Pitch Black Process performed at kRock Festival in Kherson – Ukraine. The official video footage for “Toy Soldier / Oyuncak Asker” from their show, can be seen here: https://youtu.be/oHB80ojHQOk

Pitch Black Process (formerly known as Affliction) was formed in 1999. Their first two albums “One Reality” (out in May 2003) and “Execution is Necessary” (released in July 2007) got very good response nationwide and also from abroad. In November 2009 they hit the road for their first European tour playing over 20 gigs (being the longest tour which any Turkish band had ever made abroad until then), followed up by the 18-shows European tour with Warbringer, in February 2010. Before the tour with Warbringer, Pitch Black Process signed a sponsorship deal with one of the most well-known guitar companies in the world, PRS, which was another ‘debut’ for Turkey. None of any Turkish bands had signed a sponsorship agreement with such a big brand in music industry.

The 3rd album “Hand of God?” was produced by Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Meshuggah, Soilwork, etc) at Dugout Studios, came out in June 2013. In September 2013, Pitch Black Process played on main stage at the 82nd Izmir International Fair, being the first ever metal band to play on the fair’s history. In 2015, Pitch Black Process became part of EVH and Fender. In November 2015 the band returned to Dugout Studios to record their 4th album, “Derin” which was released in December 2016, in Turkey on Atlantis Yapim/EMP Label Group and on Ellefson Music Productions/SPV in Europe. Sweden's Wormlight drop debut album “Wrath of the Wilds” via Black Lion Records; album streaming at Decibel Magazine

Swedish melodic black metal entity Wormlight has unleashed the debut album “Wrath of the Wilds” through Black Lion Records.

Stream the full album over at Decibel Magazine RIGHT HERE

Picture

Hailing from Umeå, Sweden, melodic black metal entity Wormlight was formed in 2014 under the moniker Unhallowed by King Antichrist (Drums) and Deafeathered (Guitar). Soon, Lator Mortis (Guitar) joined them, and they released their first EP "An Ancient Enemy" the same year. Shortly after the release, Arktos joined the band on Bass.

2015 saw lots of changes in the line-up, Deafeathered left the band and the band reached out to Tiamat Invictuz who joined the band in time for the recording of the "Bloodfields" EP. After the recording of the EP, Nordlyst left the band and Tiamat Invictuz took the duty of the vocals as well as guitar. At the same time, the band changed its name to Wormlight and changed the lyrical themes. In 2016, Wormlight re-released the EP “Bloodfields” via Black Lion Records, adding two bonus tracks with Tiamat’s vocals. The EP gave listeners a glimpse of what to expect from these northern warriors.

Forthcoming debut album “Wrath Of The Wilds” in an onward movement; it doesn’t only hark back to the spirit of the mid-90s Scandinavian black metal era, but also flourishes the spirit with the meticulously structured songs, and thus demands exaltation.  Nine icy atmospheric tracks (including one intro), backed by spellbinding melodic solos, abundance of fast tremolo pickings, energetic hellfire invoking blasts and tenebrous shrieks intertwined with mid-ranged death growls. The cold and the deep atmosphere of the album is capable to ensure a dense and terrifying journey.

Album is out via Black Lions Records on digipak (CD) and digitally from April 25, 2018.

Italian Metalcore group Black Light sign with Sliptrick Records

26/4/2018

Picture

Black Light is a Metalcore band from Ferrara, Italy. The project started in 2012, when two brothers, Nicholas Casarin (guitar) and Mattia Casarin (drums) who shared the same passion for music, began to create the core of the groups sound. After various changes, singer Lou Oddon, decided to quit his home country of France and join the party. Two years later Matteo Perini became the official bassist, giving the band its current stable line-up.

In the early days, Black Light’s music gravitated from an alternative rock style toward a more trash metal/alternative metal sound, but their evolution was just beginning as they started to get inspired by bands like Miss May I, Asking Alexandria and Architects. Seduced by the power of the breakdown, their verses became deeper, heavier and angrier with more lyrical social meaning, while their choruses began to feature strong and memorable melodies, revealing warmth in the Black Light cannon. The band is now predominantly of the metalcore genre without forgetting their roots, giving the audience a more intense experience between light and dark.

Black Light will release their new single in digital format on May 18th. The track is called Map Of Truth and is taken from their forthcoming EP Set Yourself Ablaze which is due to be released worldwide via Sliptrick Records later in 2018.

Map Of Truth (Single) | Released May 18th, 2018 on Sliptrick Records
Set Yourself Ablaze (EP) | Released TBA, 2018 on Sliptrick Records

Portuguese grind metal band AXIA have teamed up with Decibel Magazine to stream their new song "Fading Into Nothing." The song is taken from their aptly named new album Pulverizer which will be released on April 27th via Selfmadegod.

Listen to the song here: https://www.decibelmagazine.com/2018/04/20/track-premiere-axia-fading-into-nothing/

AXIA was crafted by four seasoned musicians known for their work in The Ominous Circle, Holocausto, Canibal, Heavenwood and Colosso among others; vocalist Alex Vale is joined by guitarist Max Tome, with bassist Ze Pedro and drummer Marcelo Aires rounding out the rhythm section. This new project builds on their collective experience to create an opus that is even more negative and hopeless than their previous respective outputs.

Mastered by Peter In de Betou (Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth, Meshuggah, Hypocrisy), Pulverizer  attests to AXIA's harsh determination.  Called "a furiously paced representation of a highly mechanized war zone" by No Clean Singing, this album is sure to make a grim mark on all who hear it.

LINEUP:

Alex Vale – Vocals
Max Tome – Guitar
Ze Pedro – Bass
Marcelo Aires – Drums

All music by Max Tome and Alex Vale.
All lyrics by Alex Vale, Max Tome and Ze Pedro.
Recorded at Sound Stone Studio and HNK Studio.

Germany's Wolfen announce 22nd June as release date for "Rise Of The Lycans"

22/4/2018

Picture

The release date of the of the new album „Rise Of The Lycans“ by the German Power/Thrash Metal Band Wolfen on CD is June 22nd, 2018. The pre-order phase will start on June 8th, 2018 in our webshop.

Even in 2018 you can count on the German metal-institution Wolfen! And they've got great news!
The line-up is finally complete again. After both drummer Holger Bloempott and long-time guitarist Björn Grüne left the band for private and family reasons, new band member is now former interim drummer Siegfried Grütz, who's already been causing sensation with Brainfever back in the '80s. The band had another lucky shot with their new second guitarist.

They were able to get Andreas Doetsch to join them, widely known with his solo project as „Andi the wicked“ and from his work in bands like Steelpreacher.

After their „Evilution“ tour in 2014-2016 with more than 50 concerts (including an Europe tour with Grave Digger), it got a little more quiet around the band. Only a few selected gigs were played, due to the training of the new band members. With the new line-up the band's showing themselves in their most mature form, as they prove on their latest album „Rise Of The Lycans“.

This is the sixth album in the band's career and contains all typical Wolfen trademarks and much more. It is way more powerful than it's predecessors, making it an actual Melodic Power metal album with Thrash influences. Furthermore, an utopian concept story stretching over four songs was composed. All songs are full of the characteristic vocals, a very powerful rhythm section and some extraordinary guitar-work, which has always played a huge role in the band's sound. After the quintet gained new uplift through their „comeback album“„Chapter IV“ and its successor „Evilution“, also thanks to the terrific feedback from the online press, continuation seemed to be the only right and logical step! The outcome can be seen as the peak of the band's current creative period and encapsulates all of their facets.

Everything's rounded up with a killer production by Martin Buchwalter from the Gernhart Studios! Even if it may sound worn out: The band sounds as good as never before!!!

Now each of them is full of energy again and hungers to get back on stage in summer 2018, giving everything they've got!

With this in mind…
