The new studio album by the metal band Synlakross has now been published. An album called 0K4M1 and which addresses a conceptual message in which the listener also becomes the protagonist of the story, as they themselves explain. Synlakross explained the concept of the album in this way: “This album is completely different from our previous albums. This time you are part of history, how? The album is a message sent by the creature 0K4M1, and you are the one who receives this message from millions of light years away. Like a message in a bottle. At the end of the listening, you must choose if you want to keep it a secret, or if you want to share it with others. And who is 0K4M1?0K4M1 is a creature created by humans from a synthetic embryo and alien DNA.Created to be a lethal weapon, the new Antichrist. Before dying, it decides to record its life experience and share it with everyone who receives this message.Because perhaps its experience can ease the listener's existential pain and suffering. It’s a sad but beautiful album, dark but full of energy. ” Available on all digital platforms. Melbourne metalcore risers Drown This City have announced their new EP "Colours We Won't Know" will be released on Friday 28th May via UNFD. Following their new single and video 'New Burn Order' last month, the band are following up with a fierce new cut from the EP titled 'Borderline Existence' today. DTC vocalist Alex Reade shares how the track's haunting scenario – depicting a person's out of body experience watching on at themselves trapped in an asylum – represents the agitation and anger she’s experienced feeling forced to pursue a certain path due to external pressure placed on her:- "I've found myself wearing thin because of this, wondering what I was fighting against and how long could I keep going for. This song reflects the battle I feel to succeed against all odds, fuelled by sheer terror that my life will be for nothing. The line ‘I really thought that I’d amount to something, I should have known you’d get me in the end’ really reflects the exhaustion I feel wondering if I can keep going with this fight to be heard and understood. I’m exhausted, always pushing against, trying to win, trying to get ‘there’ and I just don’t know where that is any more.” Drown This City's Alex Reade describes the band's 2021 EP as the ultimate purge of darkness. While their 2019 release "Alpha // Survivor" had been the proving ground for her strength and overcoming, "Colours We Won’t Know" finds the vocalist winding back the clock and standing face to face with the past torment she thought had been put to rest. “I think being in lockdown in Melbourne left us no choice but to face whatever we were running from, and that time drew every bit of honesty with myself out of me. It was very confronting to feel such sadness in me again, but I worked through all of the disgust and shame I’d been suppressing, and we’ve written our saddest and bleakest songs to date because of it.” Musically, DTC find themselves at their absolute heaviest and collaborating on themes and ideas as a band and team more than ever. With a freshly formed core writing group at play — comprising Reade (lyrics), guitarist Josh Renjen leading instrumentation and new bassist/vocalist and co-lyricist Toby Thomas — together the band push every boundary possible. Fuelled by references to metalcore, hardcore and other heavy sub-genres, CWWK offers dynamic instrumentation, stark lyrical imagery and elevated clean/unclean vocal delivery. Thomas joined the DTC family just prior to the writing and recording of the release and listeners will find his particular influence over belters ‘Carbon14’ and ‘Time Won’t Remember Us’. On his debut project with Drown This City, he shares how he and Reade quickly formed a bond and drew from their similar experiences to bring the release to life. “Colours We Won’t Know is an exploration of cognitive distortions depicted from different perspectives and stories, ultimately derived from our experiences. The songs discuss the results of trauma and mental illness, along with the effects this has on our own environments and those around us. It both embraces and challenges hope in the face of personal awareness and growth.” Despite its darkness, CWWK ultimately offers a glimmer of hope with the message that it’s never too late to tackle your mental health head on, even long after you think you’ve beaten it. With their own personal wounds truly laid bare and continuing to heal, ultimately Drown This City hope to stir up the courage in everyone to dig deep and fight their buried pain. Ukrainian ethnic groove / death metal band Arhat have released official music video for Freedom! The song was taken from the band's powerful debut full-length album Dead Life, released last year.
The band comments on Freedom: "We are the band Arhat and we present a music video for the song 'Freedom' from our debut album "Dead Life", which was released in December 2020. We chose it not by chance, we consider this song iconic. 'Freedom' is the most valuable thing. This is what we have at the genetic level. Without freedom, any thing is worthless. But at the same time, freedom is everything. Freedom to choose, to be who you are, to live by your own rules. Many thanks to everyone who took part in the creation process! Special thanks to Sergei Subbotin for professionalism, Ruslan Seferov for sincere emotions and positivity, Dmitry Kim for drive drums!"

From the ashes of the Thrash Triakanthos project, Nico and Alex decided in 2009 to continue the adventure, and completed a line-up by finding Franck on guitar, Tom on bass and Alban "Shamane" on vocals. The foundations of a solid band resolutely oriented towards old-school thrash are laid. The band makes its first concerts in very modest rooms but keeps a steady rhythm. The arrival of Pierre to replace Franck gives a more technical and ambitious direction to the sound, without leaving aside the brutal violence and they continue to scour the halls of the Paris region (in particular the Bastille Stage) with a few dates in the south of France. The style becomes more complex, going from a thrash inspired by the great classics of Metallica or Megadeth and Slayer, to the most violent fringe of the first Kreator or Sepultura, passing by some more groovy forays like Testament or Pantera. Finally in April 2013 the 1st album of Dead Tree Seeds (Seeds of Thrash) is released. Following this album, Pierre and Tom decide to leave the band to devote themselves to other projects, both musical and family. 2014, Aurelien (guitar) and Sidi (bass) joined the band, followed by numerous concerts almost everywhere in France with in particular the first part of Angelus Apatrida.2016 marks yet another change following the departure of Alban in Germany and that of Nico for musical differences. Dead Tree Seeds continues its journey and composes 8 songs in order to prepare the recording of the 2nd album in line with the first. At the end of 2017 Ivanne on guitar and at the start of 2018 Frank Vortex on vocals joined the band with directly 3 concerts in 2018 including the first parts of no return, Mercyless, Insanity Alert... In early 2019, Ivanne left the band for professional reasons and was replaced in the process by Francois. April 2020, the group signs with the Music Records label for the release of the 2nd album "Push the Button" scheduled for July 2020 (digital) and October 2020 (physical). https://www.facebook.com/DeadTreeSeedsThrash/ https://deadtreeseeds.bandcamp.com/ https://www.facebook.com/musicsarl/ https://music-records.fr/ Brazilian melodic metal Lasting Maze performed on April 24th at Festival Desérticas II, where they released their second EP, "Thunder". Vocalist Grazy Mesquita commented on the event: "We were looking for the right date to release our new EP "Thunder", and the festival festival gave us an excellent opportunity to do it. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we produced a great audiovisual content for the festival that was shown in a pre-recorded format, those were the videos from the 'Lockdown Sessions' version of the songs 'Thunder', 'Kosmos' and 'Destiny (Carry On)', all songs belonging are taken from our new EP. We had a wonderful team to produce these videos, Tiago Bampa was responsible for the location and filming, he is a partner who has been producing our videos for a long time and always delivers an impeccable job. Polly Freitas and Adrienny RosWin were responsible for makeup and costumes. For each video there was a change of costumes and special makeup, which brought characteristics and elements of the themes of the songs, they did a sensational work that was highly praised. We, Lasting Maze members, did our best playing and performing the songs for the videos, it was amazing to see that the final result of our efforts was highly praised by the festival audience. It was amazing to be able to play alongside so many inspiring bands, fronted by strong women, and to see a local festival receiving this notoriety made us all very proud". Now the quartet is making available one of the videos of this "lockdown sessions", recorded for "Thunder", the title track of the new EP. To watch click HERE. Listen "Thunder" EP HERE. Links: One of the earliest Australian bands to play thrash/speed metal, Nothing Sacred was conceived in Melbourne, Australia in 1983. Unleashing their debut EP "Deathwish" in early 1985, launching the band as one of the most sought-after pit makers with the record's title track becoming a classic within the Australian metal scene. In 1988, the band unleashed their first full-length entitled "Let Us Prey" on Cleopatra Records. Unfortunately a year after the LP's release, the band disbanded in 1989. Lead guitarist Mark Woolley, bassist Karl Lean and drummer Sham went on to contribute to Hobbs' Angel of Death's early work in the late 1980s. Woolley also appeared on Hobbs' first self-titled album in 1988. Vocalist Mick Burnham later joined short-lived Melbourne band Seizure in 1993. Although their tenure was short-lived, Nothing Sacred still remains an underground metal phenomenon in Australia. Songs from the Deathwish EP still get airplay on several Australian metal radio programs. In 2012, Nothing Sacred performed a series 30th anniversary shows with Ross Percy (Ion Drive, Little House Godz) joining George Larin on guitar that included a support slot for the ex-Iron Maiden vocalists Paul Di'Anno/Blaze Bayley Australian tour. Despite the success, the band agreed not to continue and returned to retirement. In 2015, the band decided to re-activate with a line-up of Sham, Karl Lean, George Larin, Ross Percy, and new vocalist Chris Stark. A slot on Melbourne's Brewtality Metal Festival received positive reviews before the band embarked on a short tour of Japan, which inspired them to continue and lead the band to headline day one of the Steel Assassins Festival in Sydney. Line-up changes again slowed the band, but with the addition of James Davies now on vocals and Stu Bedford on guitar, the band spent most of 2019 and 2020 writing and recording, what is now to be their first full length in over 30 years. Entitled "No Gods", the record is the Nothing Sacred's resurrection to the thrash world. With a wealth of experience, a bucket load of riffs, and a renewed energy for one of Australia’s longest-running metal bands. The band adds: "We think our return with this new album will be received well. We've made a conscious effort to not be one-dimensional. We picked a cross-section of tracks we thought would make the album interesting. Though eight of the tracks are brand new, we decided to add two tracks 'Final Crime' and 'Oracle' we wrote for our 2nd album in the late 80's, but never released." To give fans a preview of what's to come, Nothing Sacred is sharing their music video for the first single "Final Crime". The band comments: "This is one of the two tracks we'd chosen for the No Gods album from our archives that we'd written many moons ago. I saw acid rain and smog, you saw the sunset and a rainbow. There’s no tomorrow just a blank, you’ve only got yourself to thank. Don’t tell me that you never knew, you thought that hope would pull you through. I think those are our favourite lines from Mick Burnham. There's nothing like stupid people doing nothing till it's too late. Though this is one of our favourite tracks for some reason, it was never properly recorded and released. Here she is in all her glory, enjoy!"
