They break the rules, reinvent themselves with every album and are considered to be Gothenburg's brightest metal pearl - since the early 90's, In Flames have delivered a spectacular progression which has seen them transform their sound from classic melodic death metal to their current modern and unique style. The Swedes never cease to challenge their artistic boundaries, and on September 23rd, the band will be releasing an impressive demonstration of their current live expertise on DVD – ‘Sounds From The Heart Of Gothenburg’. Nostalgia or a return to their roots has never been an option for the progressive In Flames, but the set-list of this bombastic concert DVD tears through the band's entire history. With 20 tracks, the show that was recorded at Gothenburg's Scandinavium, reaches a length of one and a half hours, and achieves in capturing the band at their very best, celebrating current hits such as 'Through Oblivion’, 'With Eyes Wide Open‘ and 'Rusted Nail‘ to a packed out arena. But of course, old school classics such as 'Trigger‘, 'Cloud Connected‘ and the hypnotic finisher 'Take This Life‘ are not left out.
Prepare for an intensive and visually explosive performance in front of 10,000 fans featuring pyrotechnics, circle pits, flying crowd-surfers and In Flames' incomparable riffs. "This DVD is for everyone who was been following our career; we have songs from the early years, the middle years and the new era. It has to be fun for us to play but also fun for the audience to watch and we try to get a good flow with nice dynamics and different songs,” - states Björn Gelotte. Their new album was recorded, mixed and mastered by themselves and features some thrash, black and extreme metal influence. ‘Slave To The Machine’ is centred around themes of Sci-Fi, violence, sex, love and misery. Many lyrical themes came from personal life, but also from popular culture, books and authors like Moers, Lovecraft and even King. ‘Slave To The Machine’ is also influenced by elements from early industrial scene to modern metal. Project Silence has come a long way from 2008 and musically band has evolved a lot, but the idea behind it all is just coming through in ‘Slave To The Machine’. ‘Slave To The Machine’ is due to be released worldwide by Sliptrick Records, on June the 30th, in both digital and physical format, be sure to add their Facebook official profile to be constantly updated about shows and band news! With influences from legends such as Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Accept and Metal Church, Medevil have taken their self described 'power thrash' full of blistering fast riffs, strong choruses and vocalist Liam Colingwood's impressive vocals (you can swear is Udo Dirkschneider from a distance) to present a debut of eight anthem chanting tracks. The band's first single 'Machination Factory' is now streaming at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lF6_AE7UCg4 Japanese label Weird Truth Productions, with bands like Worship, Mournful Congregation, Profetus, Ataraxie, etc. has announced its new release - Hyponic from Hong Kong. US site The Obelisk has premiered a track exclusively HERE. "the time between outings hardly seems to have dulled the band’s drive toward deeply weighted doom, taking influence from death and black metal but crafting something spacious and consuming from it in an emotionally-charged ambient melancholy." On their 20th anniversary, Hyponic from Hong Kong release their new album after a gap of over a decade. Titled '前行者', the mysterious band venture into newer realms - exploring dark ambient sounds, atmospheric black metal bits and all out melancholy. The music here is like the darker form of Funeral Moth - the atmospheric bits sink deeper into the consciousness, causing an emotive purge of all the repressed negativities in life. It's a slow, ongoing process, like a soul-transferring ritual of sorts, taking place mentally using the medium of sound. Upon listening to the entire weird and unpredictable album, it can be said with confidence that Hyponic are without parallels. It's a unique expression in the genre of atmospheric / funeral / 'extreme' death / doom - if it can even be called any of that. Weird Truth Productions, the master in deciphering obscure doom, has unleashed another gem in the genre. Formed in early 2000, Ambivalence can be described as Technical / Brutal Death Metal. The band has released 3 albums, toured all over their native Ukraine but also Moldova, Russia and Poland, sharing the stage over the past few years with Nile, Deranged, Gorguts, Hate and Vader to name but a few. Ambivalence will be releasing its 4th album,"Hyena's Breath", through PRC Music in December 2016 on CD and Digital formats. https://www.facebook.com/AmbivalenceUA Play / Share / Enjoy the first single "Size does matter" here: https://soundcloud.com/prcmusic/ambivalence-size-does-matter Anyone who has seen Psykosis live can attest to this; these guys are the epitome of what party thrash is all about. High energy live performances, fast paced action on stage and riffs to boot with memorable hooks and crowd sing-a-longs, not to forget the all important lashings of tongue-in-cheek, and often childish, humour. The thrash outfit hail from Dublin, Ireland and started in 2008 after a booze fuelled binge and desire to inject some good fun into the rich but sombre Irish metal scene. The band began honing their sound on the stages of Dublin and progressed to headliner gigs and support slots with internationally recognised acts such as D.R.I., Sacred Reich, Evile, Blaze Bayley and Gama Bomb. The band got their first break in mainland UK when they were invited to Bloodstock Open Air in the summer of 2014. Their performance has gone down in the history books of the festival as during their set Psykosis and their crew threw out hundred's of bottles of home brew just prior to performing the song 'Beach Party', a song which the band were more than happy to share their inflatable beach toys with the appreciative crowd for. From that moment the band have been inviting folk all across the UK to their fun filled shows as well as having set sail and ventured to far flung places (from little old Ireland at least) such as Metal Days in Slovenia and more. They say time flies when you're having fun, and that is indeed the case with Psykosis because after eight years in existence the band have only recently hit the studio with producer Steven Rats Rahaman and recorded their debut album, a collection of songs which have already gotten a good thrashing on the live circuit and has garnered an enthusiastic audience seal of approval. Entitled "Welcome To The Psyko Ward", this album "is loud and in your face!" as put by vocalist / guitarist Grant Walsh. "We tried keep the energy up as to what we would be like on stage, so it's like having us play live in your house or car or wherever! After a prolonged wait for this album coming out that day is almost among us and we cannot wait to share it with everyone." "Welcome To The Psyko Ward" is out 16th September 2016!
