Swiss Modern Metallers Kassogtha reveal disturbing video for new single “Kassogtha (The Call)”4/7/2019 The innovative Swiss modern metallers Kassogtha return leaner and meaner with the brand new self-titled single “Kassogtha (The Call)”, paired with a provocative video. The band's screamer frontwoman Stephany elaborates on the unnerving concept behind the song and the video: “Kassogtha (The Call)” is about humanity's self-destruction and despair. We see this demise as a process in which people unconsciously build their own “dark side” facade. Everyone does it every day, yet they have no idea what kind of face they are creating. You may think the result looks good, but in the end, it’s always horrific. Beautiful but disturbing at the same time. “Kassogtha (The Call)” is a way for us to represent ourselves, with our bright and dark sides. Musically this song is a blend of all our best influences and the result of new experimentation, reflecting our desire to push ourselves always further." “Kassogtha (The Call)” is a powerful taste of new music to come from this immensely talented young act. Leaner and meaner, ready to take melodic death metal into the future! Watch the video: https://youtu.be/q1e_WzwiGq8 Listen now: https://ampl.ink/71Mry Mixed by Sky Van Hoff (Rammstein, Eskimo Callboy, Emigrate), mastered by Svante (Rammstein, Volbeat), drum & vocal recordings by Anna Murphy (Cellar Darling). Despite intense public campaigning and strong political efforts their application was unfortunately turned down in the end. Yet the band, Swiss social worker Timon Seibel, and the Wacken Open Air endured and their persistence was finally rewarded. Last week, Doch Chkae were informed that their visa application has been approved and the band will be allowed to enter Germany to perform at the Wacken Open Air 2019! Holger Hübner comments:- "We are stoked that we will finally be able to welcome Doch Chkae in Wacken this year," says the festival organiser. "We sincerely thank all authorities involved, private individuals, and our crew, who have paved the way for this young Cambodian band to come to Germany. Music and particularly metal is an international language that connects people across all borders, cultures, and religions in friendship." The band adds:- "Last year's problems with our visa unfortunately made it impossible for us to come to Germany", Doch Chkae relate happily. "We are all the more pleased to have been invited again and to get the chance to play at the world's biggest metal festival! This is our biggest dream coming true! We are totally thrilled! Thank you, Wacken! Thank you, Germany!" Doch Chkae translates as "dog life" – in which many of the inhabitants of the big slums in Cambodia are trapped. The three band members grew up in what was once the country's biggest waste dump. According to UNICEF, more than 10,000 children live on and off the streets in Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh alone. The kids catch dogs for restaurants, prostitute themselves, trade in drugs, look for recyclables in garbage or try to survive in other ways. Theara, Vichey, Pic, and Hing were lucky - three of the homeless kids were not only lodged in an orphanage run by Moms Against Poverty, but their social worker Timon also happened to find the right valve for the angry teenagers: Heavy Metal. After visiting a concert of the deathcore act SLITEN6IX, the original trio quickly formed their own band. Doch Chkae play angry death metal – and are probably the first to use their native language Khmer. Doch Chkae have become a role model that has long been encouraging other children and young people in Cambodia to use music as a means to gain some control over their lives. The band plays concerts for their community, has founded its own label, and even appeared on television. Before their show at the Wacken Open Air, DOCH CHKAE will be joined by Lebanese girl band SLAVE TO SIRENS, TRAINWRECK from Bangladesh, and VALLEY OF CHROME from the Philippines to play a warm-up gig at Hamburg's Kaiserkeller under the banner of "United Metal Nations" on July 27th. Pre-order launched - http://smarturl.it/krvvla. Keeping true to the tradition of one-letter album titles, the band named their upcoming track "T". This is Krvvla’s 5th release since their formation in 2015. The track features a mixture of black and death metal that sounds more like a dialogue between the two subgenres rather than their fusion. Check out the teaser right now:- https://youtu.be/9krr7y6-H1k Krvvla is a three-piece instrumental black metal band based in Minsk, Belarus. Formed in 2015, the band has already released 4 EPs and shared the stage with such bands as Hexis, Wiegedood, Celeste, and Furia. Even though they've been playing together for only 4 years, each of the band members has at least a decade of experience in playing in various local bands (Crown For the Rat King, Coat, Barrow, Sen Deni, Scenario, Challenger Deep). https://www.facebook.com/krvvla/ https://www.instagram.com/krvvla/ https://www.last.fm/music/krvvla https://soundcloud.com/krvvla https://www.songkick.com/artists/9419464-krvvla https://www.bandsintown.com/krvvla https://vk.com/krvvla Finnish speed metal cult Excuse premiere the new track "Blade of Antichrist" at Decibel magazine's website. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos, set for international release on August 2nd via Shadow Kingdom Records. Hear Excuse's "Blade of Antichrist" in its entirety exclusively HERE. One of Finland's hottest newcomers, Excuse began to make a name for themselves with their EP Goddess Injustice. Released to critical acclaim in 2016 by Shadow Kingdom, Goddess Injustice largely introduced the fierce foursome to the international metal underground - with a nuclear-powered bang! A finely honed missile of speed metal majesty, Excuse's sound on that EP in many ways recalled the classic Canadian gods Sacrifice and Razor, but there were hints of greater glories to come. And at last, they've arrived with the presciently titled Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos. Whereas Goddess Injustice suggested some darkly melodic leanings, Excuse's first full-length expands that arsenal considerably. Here, the six songs comprising Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos stretch out to epic lengths - one even hitting double digits, the climactic 10-minute closer "Watchtower of the Trans-Dimensional Pathway" - and take the listener on a wild, winding ride. The evil 'n' sleazy surge on which Excuse made their name still exists, but has now been finesse into a wholly more dynamic beast, able to reflect haunting moodiness and spacey horror alike. Suitably, co-guitarist Oskar Lindström's vocals have a conspicuous amount of echo placed upon them, suggesting the inter-dimensional struggles of a narrator literally lost in space. Likewise, fellow guitarist Anselmi Ahopalo's leads take centre stage here and weave an almost storytelling aspect, much in the way that classic heavy metal songwriting should, evoking both triumph and tragedy but remaining equally hummable throughout. Completing the totality is album's production, which locates the perfect balance between grit and gleam. So many young bands blow their proverbial wad during the demo/EP days and peter out by the time their debut album comes. Not so for Excuse, who have been able to transform their earlier youthful energy into enviably advanced maturity with Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos. Behold these Prophets' coming! The next herald of that coming can be heard with the new track "Blade of Antichrist" exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine. The first herald of that coming is the previously revealed video for "Sworn to the Crimson Oath" HERE. Also hear that track HERE at Shadow Kingdom's Bandcamp, where the album can also be pre-ordered. www.facebook.com/excuseofficial www.shadowkingdomrecords.com www.facebook.com/shadowkingdomrecords Purity Through Fire sets August 19th as the international release date for Neptrecus' highly anticipated third album, Ars Gallica. The album shall be released on limited-edition digipack and normal jewelcase CD formats, with the vinyl LP version following during the winter. One of the black metal underground's best-kept secrets, Neptrecus have been proudly flying the banner for traditional French black metal since 2011. During that time, they've patiently and studiously built a stellar canon of work that's reverently rooted in '90s classicism but not once smacks of regression or backwards-thinking complacency. If anything, Neptrecus staunchly set their sights on the horizon, and dutifully unfurl forward their attack with windswept grandeur and fiery passion. In short, timeless black metal imagination. And now, under the auspices of Purity Through Fire do Neptrecus deliver their finest work to date with Ars Gallica. Simply by continuing to do what they do best is how the quartet deliver a master stroke with their third album. Robustly recorded - muscled leanly, metallic where so much black METAL forgets the latter aspect - whilst not losing their intrinsic mysticism, Ars Gallica displays a Neptrecus seemingly drunk on their own power, whipping forth an epic fury atop a breathtaking canvas of textures and emotions. This winding 'n' wily attack betrays an advanced grasp of songwriting that's multi-hued and malicious in equal measure, painting wide swathes of majesty and malevolence, wonder and wickedness. It's as much Olde Worlde as it is new, and makes for a mesmerizing 48-minute journey. As the once-honorable idiom of French BM continues to be distorted with dissonance and obfuscation, all masking a wholesale lack of actual songwriting, here arises Neptrecus to raise their swords and carry the banner of the past into the present! Raise the banners with the new track "Retour aux Sorces" HERE at Purity Through Fire's official YouTube channel. www.facebook.com/neptrecus www.purity-through-fire.com Peruvian Power / Heavy Metallers Hamadría release their new single and music video "Crepúsculo"4/7/2019 Hamadría, present the music video for "Crepúsculo", taken from their first album "Reina Azul", recorded entirely in the historic centre of Lima, Peru. Crafted with patience and restraint the album sees the band travel further down the textured and dynamic pathways forged by their previous work as they dance from austere atmospheres to crashing walls of sound through frenetic blasts and thunderous dirges. Blending the likes of black metal, sludge and post-rock with influences even further afield the band creates a rich sound that is as beautiful as it is devastating. "Void Lustre had to be dragged into existence through loss, depression and doubt", the band comments. "Songs were crafted, reformed and discarded. Ultimately however this record is a continuation of our search for catharsis, comfort and hope found in walls of sound made only for ourselves and those like us." Engineered and produced together with the band by long-time collaborator Christopher Brownbill (Underground Audio) and released by the capable MOMENT OF COLLAPSE RECORDS (Heaven in Her Arms, Suffocate for Fuck Sake, Hope Drone self-titled) the album is built on relationships forged over the years. Joining the production fold is mastering engineer Mell Dettmer (Earth, SunnO))), Wolves in the Throne Room) who, with her deft hand and experience, brought forth a master of dynamic and clarity. Coming August 30th on 2xLP, CD and Digital via Moment Of Collapse Records, watch out for many more news plus album tunes to follow in the days ahead!
