Mongolia's Tengger Cavalry reveals new music video for “Redefine”

Earlier this year, Global Music Award-winning nomadic folk metal group Tengger Cavalry turned heads with the release of their sixth album, Cian Bi, via Napalm Records. Now, the band is thrilled to announce their upcoming return to Carnegie Hall’s stunning Weill Recital Hall in New York City (154 W 57th St.) for a special performance on Thursday, September 20. The performance will begin at 8:00 PM and tickets start at $30. The performance will feature traditional nomadic musical techniques and instruments such as throat singing, Mongolian long song, and Morin Khuur. Visit this link for more information.

In celebration of this performance announcement, Tengger Cavalry have revealed a brand new music video for their track “Redefine”, cut from Cian Bi. The video acts as an artistic interpretation of the message that Tengger Cavalry’s music often represents – raising awareness for the preservation of Mongolian culture in the face of modernization and overall culture conflict. Watch the video now, exclusively via Heavy Consequence, Consequence of Sound’s brand new metal vertical: https://consequenceofsound.net/2018/08/tengger-cavalry-redefine-music-video/

Frontman Nature G explains in description of the video:-

“As core members of Tengger Cavalry and traditionally trained Mongolian folk musicians, both Wulijimuren and I immigrated from China to New York City several years ago. Being stripped away from the Nomadic Grassland and stepping into the very industrial and multi-cultural world of the Big Apple, we’ve both faced challenges of progressing and preserving the traditional Nomadic culture in our lives and in modern day.  Unlike Viking trends, Nomadic culture still exists upon the Grasslands and horse riding landscapes in Northern China and is facing great danger in the face of modernization and industrialization from the South. This video represents the mixed challenge we, as Tengger Cavalry, are facing every day. It’s a video about cultural conflict, homeland, modern culture, progression and inner strength.”

Cian Bi can be ordered via iTunes, Amazon, and/or Google Play, and streamed via Spotify.

In January, Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine retweeted the group's cover of “Symphony of Destruction,” while the previous month, the official Motörhead Facebook page reposted their rendition of “Fight.”

Tengger Cavalry has been praised by top media outlets such as Metal Hammer, Terrorizer, Billboard, CNN, The Huffington Post and countless others.

TENGGER CAVALRY is:

Nature G - Vocals, Dombra, Production, Composition
Wulijimuren - Morin Khuur
Greg Baker - Bass
Pat Reilly - Guitar
Randy Tesser - Drums

Mexico's Morbid Messiah set release date for Memento Mori debut; reveals first track

17/8/2018

Picture

In their endless quest to push and support current underground acts that perpetuate the odour of vintage death metal, on October 22nd, Memento Mori is proud to present Morbid Messiah's highly anticipated debut album, Demoniac Paroxysm. Memento Mori will be handling the album's CD release, while Unholy Prophecies shall be handling the vinyl version (release date TBA).

Hailing from Mexico, Morbid Messiah was formed in 2015 after Anubis Sandoval (drums) moved from Cancun to Guadalajara, and teamed up with Roberto Trejo (guitar) and Jose Rivas (vocals). All three young musicians shared a burning passion for the authentic sound of underground death metal that blossomed during the late '80s and early '90s, and felt compelled to give shape to a brand-new, iniquitous entity that would follow in the gods of yore's footsteps. Morbid Messiahplayed their first live show a few months later and then proceeded to record their debut EP, suitably titled In the Name of True Death Metal, which was self-released in October 2016 on CD format. Guillermo Lopez (bass) had already joined their ranks by then, solidifying the line-up for depraved endeavours yet to come. Fast forward to April 2017 and the Polish label Godz ov War Productions gave the EP the tape treatment, and all 100 copies sold out shortly after.

To depict Morbid Messiah's approach to the Metal of Death is no laborious chore, for it is nothing more - but certainly nothing less - than a dank, impenetrable, lightless, decimating, and unadorned concoction of the finest, heaviest and vilest elements of bands such as Sadistic Intent, Possessed, Incantation, Grotesque, Mortem, Death and Imprecation, as well as those prevalent in the early works of their country-mates Cenotaph and Shub Niggurath. Thus girded with such proud 'n' powerful influences, Demoniac Paroxysm thus invokes its very title, whipping the listener into a fury of rotten, sewer-dwelling possession. Rubbed raw and blasted about like a boom-box from the bowels of Hell, this is DEATH METAL in all caps, and forever be it so: Morbid Messiah are not recommended for trendy ears nor those with weak stomachs. But if the flame burns true within you, by all means, take this torch NOW!

Naturally, for a record so foul and filthy, it's only fitting that Demoniac Paroxysm is gracelessly graced with classic cover artwork courtesy of the esteemed Mark Riddick. Bow down and pray to Morbid Messiah!

Finland's My Reflection showcases the story of Finland, it's nature and history through their new video "Homeland"

The story of Finland, nature and history - My Reflection offers a showcase to Finnish metal with an atmospheric video "Homeland"

Finland is known for its thousands of lakes and major metal bands such as Stratovarius, Wintersun and Nightwish. Now the story of Finland's 100 years of independence, nature and some the best Finnish metal characteristics are combined in the "Homeland" single and music video by, also Finnish, metal band My Reflection.

"When composing, the "Finland 100" theme was very prominent and I wanted to tribute my homeland somehow, filming the "Homeland" video took a year to capture all the Finnish four seasons. "We missed the main celebration but it is great to own the piece to 100-year-old Finland still at this point."

"The song also offers a kind of a showcase to Finnish metal by combining its more delicate and delightful sides. There was no intention to do any clear line-up and I let the thoughts speak. Feelings are often roller coaster and this is the end result this time." says Petja Haapaniemi, the composer-guitarist-vocalist of My Reflection.

The band ends several years of silence to the release. "The break has brought certain balance and maturity to our music. We are happy to finally share the piece with all the metal fans", says My Reflection vocalist Jenni Räikkönen.

Japan's Saber Tiger release new official video from the forthcoming album ‘Obscure Diversity’

Japanese progressive power metal group Saber Tiger have released an official video for the song The Worst Enemy, one of the standout tracks (of many) on their forthcoming album Obscure Diversity. Brutal and subtle in equal measures, Saber Tiger are taking no one prisoner here.

Note: The fleeting outdoor shots seen in the video were taken from the bands recent trip to Latvia in the Baltics (specifically at the ruins and beach in Karosta) very close to our home base at Sliptrick Records in Liepaja.

Obscure Diversity shows a band that has no intention of slowing down more than three and a half decades after their genesis. If anything, their trademark blend of classy melodicism and fierce intensity is in better balance than ever. Read more about Obscure Diversity …here

California's The Odious Construct to release "Shrine of the Obscene" EP on October 12th

16/8/2018

Picture

Active since 2015, Sacremento, California-based progressive melodic death metal outfit The Odious Construct are a young band relatively speaking. Yet in their brief existence, they've moved at blinding speeds to continually refine their craft live and in the studio in order to reach the next level. After hashing out two single song demos in 2015, the band quickly released their well-received self-titled EP in July of 2016. 2016's "The Odious Construct" was additionally praised by outlets such as Dead Rhetoric who called it "Straight-forward death metal with enough technical zest and melodic underpinnings to keep it interesting."

Now in 2018, The Odious Construct have evolved as musicians and songwriters and are primed to release their strongest music to date on Shrine of the Obscene. Recently signed to The Artisan Era, Shrine of the Obscene will be The Odious Construct's first effort on the label and is set for release on Friday, October 12th through The Artisan Era.

Throughout the five swift and deadly songs on Shrine of the Obscene, The Odious Construct carves out a path beyond the typical "complex for complexities sake" approach with a focus built upon catchy guitar melodies, straightforward brutality, and enhanced by orchestral flair to ensure the songs remain stuck in your head. The Odious Construct - Shrine of the Obscene will strongly appeal to fans of groups such as Alterbeast, The Black Dahlia Murder, Irreversible Mechanism, Virvum, and The Faceless.

*You can listen to an extended early teaser video for Shrine of the Obscene HERE

The Odious Construct had the following to say about the upcoming release of Shrine of the Obscene

"This upcoming EP is a progression from the previous self-titled EP. While still melodic, there is more speed and technicality involved, and there is more experimentation with orchestra instruments. Thematically, the writing is still dark. The lyrics revolve around psychological disorders, horror, suicide, etc. The goal of this EP was to include more dynamics musically and more diverse instrumentation. We are still a melodic death metal band but we are incorporating more modern elements to the music stylistically."

The Odious Construct is:

Casey Ryle - vocals
Wesley Yee - guitar
Ben Jackson - guitar
Sam Datu - bass
KC Brand - drums (The Ritual Aura)
