On October 11th internationally, Saturnal Records is proud to present Aegrus' highly anticipated third album, In Manus Satanus. Hailing from Kouvola, Aegrus is a Finnish black metal band formed in 2005 by vocalist Darkseer Incuta and guitarist Lux Tenebris to act as a vision about Satanic devotion and mockery against Christianity - a vision that, over the years, has grown deeper and more holistic with its misanthrophic outlook about Lucifer/Satan, with light and darkness acting as a guiding force behind the members' passionate interest towards darkness, occult, self-development, and transcendental knowledge. Aegrus operated the first ten years of its existence deep in the underground, steadily keeping the black flame growing by forging a series of demos and the Luciferian Engravings in 2011. The pact with Satan finally started to manifest when it gave birth to their debut album, Devotion for the Devil, in 2015, released by France's cult Drakkar Productions. A year later, Finnish label Hammer of Hate released their EP Conjuring the Old Echoes as a celebration of the past decade. This eventually led to the deal with another Finnish label, Saturnal Records, and the bond with Devil grew even stronger as their even-stronger second album, Thy Numinous Darkness, came out in October 2017. During this time, Aegrus have justly earned a reputation for their powerful live shows and have now morphed into a four-man group, as long-time session live members Serpentifer (drums) and Praestigiator (guitars) joined their ranks. And now, in 2019, the band are prepared to unleash their mightiest Satanic strike with the third album, ominously titled In Manus Satanas. A grand culmination of Aegrus' journey so far, through both fathomless darkness and blinding enlightenment, In Manus Satanas represents an unapologetic statement of pure, cold, and raw Finnish black metal - harsh and hysteric as ever, but never forgetting the burning black fire of majestic melodicism. It's Aegrus at their most immediate and mostly immediately engaging, exuding a catchiness that's unforgettable whilst draping that darkness in an atmosphere recognizably their own. Traditional Finnish black metal is arguably more prolific - and widely known, quite justifiably - than ever. Still, its fires ever need stoking, and Aegrus have stepped to the forefront, austere torches in hand, with In Manus Satanus. www.facebook.com/aegrusofficial www.saturnalrecords.com www.facebook.com/saturnalrecords Following the release of their acclaimed second full-length, Experiment of Existence, Chile's premier thrash band Ripper are back with their first new material in three years. Sensory Stagnation feels like a continuation and evolution of the band's established sound. Album track "The Unreal" is now streaming at this location. The high-speed thrashing and intricate riffs are still there, as well as the philosophical lyrics and incomprehensibly good bass work. But the band has leaned a little further into their progressive influences, with a more pronounced presence of Atheist riding shotgun with their usual Teutonic and South American thrash forerunners. The result is an outing that feels rich despite a run time of roughly 20 minutes, loaded with some of the band's best playing and most fascinating ideas to date. Sensory Stagnation is coming September 30th on CD, cassette and digital platforms from Unspeakable Axe Records, with a vinyl release to follow from Dark Descent Records. facebook.com/ripperchileoficial ripperdeathrashchile.bandcamp.com unspeakableaxerecords.com facebook.com/UnspeakableAxeRecords unspeakableaxerecords.bandcamp.com German Epic Metal veterans Equilbrium release music video for second single 'Path Of Destiny'3/8/2019 German epic metal pioneers, Equilibrium, will set aflame a brand new bonfire this summer with their sixth studio album. 'Renegades' (out: August 23rd via Nuclear Blast) is heralding a watershed, the turn of an era for this genre. This is metal at its most epic and most monumental, bearing huge songs, resting firmly in the Zeitgeist with a massive, modern production and sporting quite a number of eclectic influences. And before the bleating erupts: It’s working, it’s blending in - and above all, it’s still Equilibrium. Quite possibly more than ever. Last week, the band released the second digital single 'Path of Destiny'. The song is available on all major streaming and download platforms: http://nblast.de/EquilibriumDestiny Today, the band presents the official video clip of the song. Check it out here: https://youtu.be/L6TqqOeKFKA Berthammer states: "'Path of Destiny''s music video is actually a love letter to humanity and it's diversity, but at the same time a reminder and warning, packed with serious topics into a strange and colourful fictive 80s world. It's about how people's lifelines collide in kinda strange ways and how all of us unconsciously influence other people's lives every single day. Which is kinda interesting...as most of us humans don't really care that much about others, but we are all connected. We all do feel the same things, we fear the same things and we all struggle sometimes. But one single smile, word or gesture at the right time and the right place can actually change another person's whole life. Isn't that powerful?! Humans are super interesting beings and it's amazing to actually see how an action leads to a reaction, and how emotions guide our actions. All of us have decisions to make, whether we like it or not, whether they are right or wrong in the end...we have to make them. That's just how our universe works. Diversity is beautiful and instead of being afraid of it or even fear it, we should learn to love it. Our human mind is the most powerful weapon. Use it wisely. Don't judge so rashly. Offer an open mind and an open heart instead. Listen. Give people a smile. And maybe you will unconsciously access someone else's path of destiny."
'Renegades' was recorded and produced during September 2018 until March 2019 by the band and Swedish producer Robin Leijon and is the first Equilibrium album to feature Skar with his clean vocals and Skadi Rosehurst on synths. www.equilibrium-metal.net www.facebook.com/equilibrium www.nuclearblast.de/equilibrium Visions Of Atlantis release their second single off Wanderers today along with a beautifully conceptualized video. Gripping vocals soar over an intricate battle of guitar and keyboard melodies, as galloping bass and drums charge forth from the stages of New England dive bars. This is the vivid drama brought to bear by Dialith, a symphonic metal band hailing from Danbury, CT. Formed in 2015 by guitarist and composer Alasdair Wallace Mackie and vocalist Krista Sion, the project was born of love for bands such as Nightwish, Epica, Kamelot, Arch Enemy, Nevermore, and Fleshgod Apocalypse, and also a penchant for film composers including Bear McCreary and Hans Zimmer. With the addition of drummer Cullen Mitchell, the band released their EP "Through Stone" in 2017 accompanied by a lyric video for the single "Quiver of Deception." Keyboardist Charles Woodruff and bassist Mark Grey joined the line-up soon after, and Dialith's mesmerizing live shows began earning them a following in the northeastern United States. The band spent 2018 writing and recording their debut full-length album Extinction Six, due for release on August 16, 2019 in digital and CD formats. Extinction Six draws inspiration from many different influences: symphonic metal, power metal, melodic death, and film scores. The lyrical themes touch on everything from human emotion to fantasy sea monsters -- but most prominently, ecological destruction. With Extinction Six soon to be unleashed, Dialith are excited to share the culmination of four years’ work with the world. The members during that era, aged fourteen through eighteen, began writing rudimentary songs while trying to find their sound. The intent was always to write honest metal that they themselves wanted to listen to. As a result, the Silent Reverie EP was self-released and the band began playing live regularly, while also experiencing various hiatuses, setbacks, and drastic line-up changes. Through much trial and error, founding member Eligio Tapia gradually honed-in on what would become the sound of Crepuscle. The lineup changed so much over time until Tapia was the only founding member that remained. He decided that the Draconian Winter title no longer seemed appropriate. It was time for a new chapter, so the remaining members of the band all agreed that the best way to do that would be by changing the name. In order to pay tribute to the previous era, it was decided that the debut album would be called Draconian Winter. The recording process for their debut album began in the autumn of 2010. The songs written during the Draconian Winter-era were refined and, in some cases, rewritten to showcase the more mature sound that had been developed. Crepuscle turned to Ryan Alvarado to produce the album. Over the next four years, the band and Alvarado worked tirelessly on the album. Despite scheduling conflicts, technical difficulties, and personal struggles, everyone forged ahead with a common goal: to create the best album they possibly could, unwilling to compromise until this goal was achieved. Backed by Gavin DeVaughn on bass, Aaron Robitsch on Keyboards, JB Schuler on drums, and Cameron Stucky on guitar, Tapia and the rest of Crepuscle are ready to spread their music to every corner of the world. Line-up: Sami Risku - vocals/guitars Jussi Samppala - drums Kari Lehtinen - guitars Stefan Laine - Bass https://www.facebook.com/tyrantdisciple https://spoti.fi/2tBKY8i Finnish speed metal cult Excuse stream the entirety of their highly anticipated debut album, Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos, at heavily trafficked web-portal CVLTNation.com. Set for international release on August 2nd via Shadow Kingdom Records, hear Excuse's Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos in its entirety exclusively HERE. One of Finland's hottest newcomers, Excuse began to make a name for themselves with their EP Goddess Injustice. Released to critical acclaim in 2016 by Shadow Kingdom, Goddess Injustice largely introduced the fierce foursome to the international metal underground - with a nuclear-powered bang! A finely honed missile of speed metal majesty, Excuse's sound on that EP in many ways recalled the classic Canadian gods Sacrifice and Razor, but there were hints of greater glories to come. And at last, they've arrived with the presciently titled Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos. Whereas Goddess Injustice suggested some darkly melodic leanings, Excuse's first full-length expands that arsenal considerably. Here, the six songs comprising Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos stretch out to epic lengths - one even hitting double digits, the climactic 10-minute closer "Watchtower of the Trans-Dimensional Pathway" - and take the listener on a wild, winding ride. The evil 'n' sleazy surge on which Excuse made their name still exists, but has now been tuned into a wholly more dynamic beast, able to reflect haunting moodiness and spacey horror alike. Suitably, co-guitarist Oskar Lindström's vocals have a conspicuous amount of echo placed upon them, suggesting the inter-dimensional struggles of a narrator literally lost in space. Likewise, fellow guitarist Anselmi Ahopalo's leads take centre stage here and weave an almost storytelling aspect, much in the way that classic heavy metal songwriting should, evoking both triumph and tragedy but remaining equally hummable throughout. Completing the totality is album's production, which locates the perfect balance between grit and gleam. So many young bands blow their proverbial wad during the demo/EP days and peter out by the time their debut album comes. Not so for Excuse, who have been able to transform their earlier youthful energy into enviably advanced maturity with Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos. Behold these Prophets' coming! The full herald of that coming can be heard exclusively HERE, courtesy of CVLTNation.com.
