Canadian thrashers Titans Eve whom unleashed their second full-length album, 'Life Apocalypse' earlier this July are proud to offer fans a free download of their track 'Destined To Die' exclusively on SMNNews.com at the following location here. The band will also be on European tour with Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy this coming October. This will be the bands first European tour that will see them perform in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France and Spain for the 10 show dates just after coming off Canadian summer tours with Anvil and Kill Devil Hill, the new band that features legendary drummer Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, DIO, Heaven & Hell) and bassist Rex Brown (Pantera, Down). Life Apocalypse's eleven tracks of powerful modern metal were produced by Titans Eve and recorded by Sacha Laskow of Divinity at Perfect Fifth Studios in Calgary, AB and is the follow up to last year's debut album ‘The Divine Equal’ that was named ‘Album of the Month’ (Sept 2011) by Metal Hammer Germany and conquered the #7 on the Top 20 of 2011 Canadian Loud Charts. http://titanseve.bandcamp.com/album/life-apocalypse http://soundcloud.com/titanseve/sets/life-apocalypse/ 1. Titans Eve – Life Apocalypse – 2012 Release Date: July 13, 2012 "Best of all, the hooks on this record are enormous, with none of the eleven tracks feeling like a throwaway. The tunes are so insistent and contagious that it feels like they fly by: you’ve got the Mastodonian stomp of “Destined to Die”, the Maiden-esque guitar melody that sneaks into the thunderous “Road to Ruin”, the melodic thrash of “The Abyss”, the crushing mid-tempo groove that dominates the chorus of “Life Apocalypse.” - MSN.com "Titans Eve have kicked their technical proficiency into high gear, delivering an exceptional album of brilliant, horrifyingly astute and elegantly written material; the lyrics are grim poetry set to cruel, brutal and mathematically precise orchestration...The songs “The Abyss”, the title track “Life Apocalypse”, “Hollow Gods” and “The Void” are outstanding on this disc, speaking brutal truth and cruel fact in untenably honest fashion, their individual tales riding well with the overall theme of this collection." - Confront Magazine "After a brief acoustic intro, Life Apocalypse really gets fired up and under way with "Destined to Die", a real thrashing, head banging song that sets the pace for the rest of the disc. The combination of old school metal influences with more current metal sensibilities is just aurally stunning. These guys have created an album that kicks some serious ass from start to finish; I was fully engrossed in it from the beginning." - PureGrainAudio.com "Now and again, an album comes along that, immediately, on first listen, jumps out of your stereo (or, in this case, a towering 2,000 watt DJ rig), grabs you by your scrawny, hungover little throat and screams at you “bet you weren’t expecting this, muthafucka?”. This sophomore release from Vancouver thrashers Titan’s Eve is one of those." - PlanetMosh.com "What Titans Eve has managed to do with an album based on hardship is inject an air of triumph into their catchy delivery. The uplifting nature that saturates the album brings hope that no matter what we face in our lives, all our life apocalypses, the strength to rise above them is within us all." - Hellbound.ca "As I’ve listened to Life Apocalypse, I’ve come to realize that Titans Eve isn’t trying to sound like the other guys. Titans Eve hasn’t run off with old school fever. Titans Eve hasn’t caved into an over-swollen modern persona of sound either. Instead, Titans Eve truly plays their ownscorching brand of Thrash Metal. Yes, the overall feel, vibe and sound that Titans Eve has tapped into has given me every reason to believe they will be around in another decade… or two." - MetalOdyssey.net "Vancouver, Canada’s Titan’s Eve are a nice breath of fresh air in a style of music that seems to be half-populated with Exodus clones. Melody, precision and the very occasional semi-clean sung vocal passage give this album a very nice edge." - Shreddernet.com "The intensity of all instruments comes together very nicely on 'Life Apocalypse' – especially on track four 'The Abyss,' which is one of the main treats off the album. In addition to being an overall nice and solid track, 'The Abyss' offers one of the album's longest and tightest guitar solos, which stretches over 40-50 seconds." - Toronto Metal Music Examiner "Just to pick a couple of highlights, there's the headlong slam dance ofLife Apocalypse with its blast beat drumming and distinctive signature riffing. Then there's the high speed thrash out of Destined To Die - a cut that reminds me of Onslaughts classic 'Power From Hell' debut album; a gloriously chilled and melancholy out instrumental entitled A Wound That Never Heals - complete with a rather groovy bongo drum line!! and the divinely majestic Frozen In Time - an true mini epic if ever there was that goes from slow and acoustic to Priest-U-like twin guitar harmonies to heavy as fuck grind and pound and back again. All damn good stuff." 4.5/5 - The BCFM Sunday Rock Show 93.2fm (Bristol UK) “Titans Eve has quickly risen through the ranks of the Vancouver metal scene, quickly becoming one of the best thrash bands in town.” – Absolute Underground Magazine “Titans Eve had everything that was needed to make for a killer show; solid memorable music that can move even the folks who are unfamiliar with the songs, backed by a tight, powerful performance. ” – Metalstorm.net (Live Review) “TITANS EVE have embraced the old fashioned Thrash ethic of keeping an eye on quality and not going overboard with content. ” – Metal-Observer.com Suffolk Melodic Metalcore mob Upon Thrones have released their latest demo track 'Exhausted Apologies' which can be streamed and downloaded below. https://www.facebook.com/UponThrones The band's bio is as thus:
"Our self-titled E.P, Upon Thrones is built upon stories that are drawn from the experiences we have had this past year. 'We Regret To Inform You', 'Exhausted Apologies', 'Witness Our Rebirth', 'Hold on', 'Pain Ends' and 'Apathy' will take listeners through events in which we lost loved ones, and pushed away those who loved us. They speak about the strength of friendship, the comfort of strangers and the damages that can change a person you adore. I wanted to convey the truths of such realities in a way that could be related to; words that might even help audiences come to terms with their own grievances, and offer a positive perspective when life seems at its darkest. Witness Our Rebirth and Apathy are the E.P's anthems. I needed to show that for each painful memory, we have shared just as many beautiful and heart warming moments with people who selflessly gave us their time." DreamScar, the Experimental / Gothic / Metalcore sextet from the heart of the Las Vegas, have emerged victorius in their nominated category 'Stars Of Tomorrow Award!' at the VRMAS (Vegas Rocks Magazine Awards) 2012. Seen as perhaps the joint pioneers of the Gothic Metalcore sound alongside now-established Pennsylvanians Motionless In White, Dreamscar take the listener on a journey of darkness, fantasy and more importantly shadowy atmospheres, bringing in a cold and bitter feeling with added irony given Las Vegas' desert climate. The award ceremony was broadcast on Sunday August 26 2012 via AXS.TV and was attended by (and some of them awarded) the likes of Vinnie Paul, Sammy Hagar, David Coverdale (Whitesnake), Michael Schenker, Valora, Geoff Tate, Levi Bention (Miss May I) and of course the organiser Sally Steele. Below is the award ceremony part for with DreamScar were utterly stunned / post-stoked. https://www.facebook.com/dreamscarband Motionless In White unveil cover art of forthcoming album 'Infamous' - AVAILABLE NOVEMBER 138/9/2012 Motionless In White has unveiled the cover art for their highly anticipated forthcoming full-length 'Infamous', set for release on November 13, 2012. In the two years since the release of acclaimed debut 'Creatures', Motionless In White has constantly challenged the concept of "playing it safe". Unafraid to make music as intense as it is intricate, their ability to interweave powerful lyrics and strong musicianship with striking imagery that has captivated both fans and media around the globe. The scintilating sextet's second full-length, 'Infamous' was produced by Jason Suecof (August Burns Red, The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel) and Tim Skold (Marilyn Manson). 'Infamous' sees the band embracing the hype and stepping up to the plate, delivering a collection of tracks that has refined, defined and intensified the band's sound. Motionless In White will be releasing a limited edition vinyl version of debut album 'Creatures', available September 25th. A limited run of 1,031 black splatter / grimace purple copies will be printed, in spirit of the bands favorite holiday, Halloween (31/10). Additionally, a standard pressing of 'Creatures' will be available in grimace purple at retailers world-wide.
The vinyl is available for pre-order now at Merchnow (U.S.) and Firebrand (Europe). Demand for the Toronto quintet to return to our shores has been huge following their highly successful tour with Veil Of Maya in April, and the band cannot wait to come over and blow our minds with their technical wizardry and ball busting grooves once again. Check out the new single ‘Hydroplaning’, to be released on November 12th. Aged only 19-20, Struc/tures wrote, recorded and self-released a five track EP in April 2011 which took the underground scene by storm and promptly propelled them to the top of the Toronto scene. It wasn’t long before esteemed US label Sumerian picked them up to release their outstanding debut album ‘Divided By’ in October 2011, and the band have been unstoppable ever since. Having spent the last year touring the world and most recently their homeland with UK metallers Architects, Struc/tures are set to return to Europe on 13 November. It is with heavy hearts that we have learnt news that the beloved Kipster has chose to depart Silent Descent after four years active duties playing DJ/Samples in the band who hail from Dartford, Kent and play an eclectic mix of European style Melodic Death Metal with upbeat trance music.
According to Silent Descent: "The Kip man will still be writing with us on the next album and we may even see him performing at the odd show, but for now it's goodbye. This Thursday at Leo's Red Lion will be Chippies last show, so please make the effort and come give him an awesome send off!" "We're not actively looking to replace Kips, but if you think you've what it takes as a trance, dubstep, synth heavy producer, then please give us a message". Kipster gave his services on the band's critically-acclaimed debut album 'Duplicity' which earned them rave reviews even from Metal Hammer who lauded them as 'The Trance Metal juggernaut the world has been waiting for'. He recently recorded on the band's sophomore album 'Mind Games' and this album received good reviews too. After a string of countless Download Festival appearances and tours / gigs with bands such as Mask Of Virtue, The Dead Lay Waiting, Blood Stain Child and naturally his last ever gig at the Leo's RED Roar in Gravesend, Kent this upcoming Thursday. All at Global Metal Apocalypse wish him a bright and prosperous future and we will endeavour to keep up with both Silent Descent and Kipster's own project. https://www.facebook.com/silentdescent |
