Death Metal extremists Unfathomable Ruination will release its third full-length album, the aptly titled Enraged and Unbound, November 22 on Willowtip Records. The album's opening track - "An Obsidian Perception" - is now streaming, courtesy of Toilet Ov Hell. Check it out at this location. On Enraged and Unbound, Unfathomable Ruination delves into the darker side of the human psyche. Each song plumbing the depths of the deepest mental illness and exploring the primitive violence that lies within us all. Musically, each instrument has been pushed to its limit: breaking barriers to create something emotive, unique, and above all else one of the most significant death metal releases of 2019. Three years in the making, Enraged and Unbound promises to be Unfathomable Ruination's best work yet. As if that weren't enough, the band is extremely proud to announce two of the best vocalists in Death Metal - Julien Truchan from Benighted and Sven de Caluwé from Aborted - are honored guests on the album! Sven performs on "Occulta Violentiam" and Julien on "Defy the Architect." Eliran Kantor is responsible for the album art and captures the feel of Enraged and Unbound perfectly. A solemn solitary figure stands surrounded by demonic deformities which represent the inner turmoil that torments those with mental illness. Screams of anguish and vicious voices whispering of fear, violence and self-loathing. The art in itself is a true masterpiece and completes the experience that is Enraged and Unbound. Enraged and Unbound will be available on CD, vinyl LP, and digital formats via Willowtip. Recorded at Ritual Sound Studio by Sam Turbitt. Guitars re-amped at Deadlight Studio by Lars Lüttge. Mixed at OTB by Neil Kernon (Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Deicide) for Auslander. Mastered by Alan Douches (Death, Mastodon, Hate Eternal) for West West Side Music. Siren is a ambitious album packed with melodic metal and groovy riffs. Listen to the Siren:
Band comments on the new album: "It took about eight years of hard work, sweat, tears and pain to create "Siren" , but now as it is released, we surely feel relieved that it is now out of our hands and got its chances. The world has changed radically during the process, both generally and what comes to consuming music. Yet we feel that the album is not a relic from the past, but a relevant piece of work also to today's music lovers." The sound of the "Siren" could be described as a combination of Gothenburg metal (In Flames) and a hint of contemporary low tuned riffwork (Stam1na) with swedish production magic from Fascination Street Studios: Johan Örnborg mixing & Jens Bogren mastering. Album was partly crowdfunded and produced by the band independently. The theme of the album is temptation in many of its forms. Lyrics are not woven together thematically but most of the stories involve temptations in one way or the other, hence the name "Siren". Musically "Siren" flirts with many periods, synths from the 80's, power metal of the 90's and riffs from present day, hopefully creating an enjoyable 47 minutes of relevant music for metal consumer in 2019. Blackstar Halo was originally formed in 1998. At the time the band was called Downfall. In 2009 Downfall's path came to an end and the band transformed to ”Blackstar Halo” - with a new lineup and direction. Blackstar Halo released it's debut album "Illuminated" in 2010. The album was pre-released nationwide in then prominent film rental chain ”Filmtown”. Along the album, a music video was released from the title song "Illuminated" made by Energia productions and Obscure entertainment (the makers of Star Wreck and Iron Sky). Blackstar Halo presented their live skills in winter 2010 with Lacuna Coil and toured Finland with Scar Symmetry. The first time the band performed at international stages with current line-up, was at Copenhagen Live festival in Denmark with Rammstein, Bullet for my valentine, Slash and others. http://www.blackstarhalo.com/ https://www.facebook.com/blackstarhalo/ https://twitter.com/blackstarhalo https://www.instagram.com/blackstarhalo/ Chilean Death Metallers Unaussprechlichen Kulten premiere new track at "Decibel" magazine's website12/9/2019 Chilean death metal gods Unaussprechlichen Kulten premiere the new track "The Evil Out of Control" at Decibel magazine's website. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated fifth album, Teufelsbücher, set for international release on October 18th via Iron Bonehead Productions. Also on the day of release shall Iron Bonehead reissue the band's cult second album, 2008's People of the Monolith, on vinyl LP format as well as a special compilation of their 7" EPs and their live performance at last year's inaugural Never Surrender Fest, curated by Iron Bonehead and Nuclear War Now! Unaussprechlichen Kulten will also be making their first US performance at this year's Never Surrender Fest, scheduled to take place on October 19th and 20th, 2019, in Oakland, California (more info after the jump). Hear Unaussprechlichen Kulten's "The Evil Out of Control" in its entirety exclusively HERE. For 20 years now, Unaussprechlichen Kulten have built a commanding canon of eldritch death metal DARKNESS. From their early demos to later splits and especially their preceding four full-lengths - not least of which, 2014's Baphomet Pan Shub-Niggurath and 2017's Keziah Lilith Medea (Chapter X), both released by Iron Bonehead to widespread critical acclaim - this Chilean cult have explored the furthest reaches of primordial dread and ancient mysticism, all through pure 'n' authentic Metal of Death. And now, a whole two decades after their formation, Unaussprechlichen Kulten continue to push themselves toward the beyond with the mesmerizing Teufelsbücher. Although one can easily say that Teufelsbücher encompasses the signature Unaussprechlichen Kulten aesthetic - songwriting that slithers through the slime with a preternatural grace, execution that's barbaric and crusted in mud and blood, production that plumbs the foulest ends of the sonic spectrum - uniquely, this fathomless fifth full-length is arguably the band's densest and most dissonant work to date. Unleashing morbid fascination regarding superstition and witchcraft, Unaussprechlichen Kulten once again suffuse their increasingly angular ruminations with a thoroughly researched thematic grounding. Teufelsbücher - literally, "The books of the Devil," written in German - had their pinnacle since the end of Luther’s existence in 1545, until 1604. During that consolidation period of the amendment, with 39 original copies, they are in great deal the precursors from the great house of witches. The Devil acquires strength step by step, which will reach its zenith in the 16th and 17th centuries when Europe granted an enormous attention to the Devil. The Teufelsbücher sentenced sharply that every mortal committing a sin would inevitably fall under the powers of the lord of Hell. Written with the purpose of denouncing vices and sins back then, theologists and inquisitors wanted to contribute on this particular fight against evil writing treaties where nature, knowledge, cunning, and the power of Satan were questioned, and where means were established to fight spells, omens, charms, vane healers, the notorious art, etc. Through hundreds of pages, prodigious, fantastic, wonderful, and scary stories were included, as well. However, along with revealing their own perversion finally instead of warning men, they ended up causing fascination and unleashing morbid fascination regarding superstition and witchcraft. With this quite-literally medieval foundation firmly in place, Unaussprechlichen Kulten proceed to plow through 42 minutes of exceptionally epic and challenging territory. Totaling six stout labyrinths of song, Teufelsbücher twists and turns in diabolically obscene / obscenely diabolical ways, retaining immediacy and urgency despite those daunting song lengths. No less feral and frightening than before, Unaussprechlichen Kulten bend the listener's mind (and body) to their unholy will, slipstreaming with a devilishly nuanced grace paradoxically at odds with their blunt-force trauma. Of course, hallucinogenic tension reaches a fever pitch here on Teufelsbücher, as the powerless listener pleads for sweet release...only to find ever-more-treacherous territory, each barb more gnarled than the last. Unaussprechlichen Kulten have built a nigh-unchallenged canon that takes all the urgency 'n' ugliness of classic death metal and upends it into the realm of high art. When, this late into their career, they could easily coast into crowd-pleasing catchiness, these revered Chileans take the path less travelled and speak ever stranger tongues: verily, Teufelsbücher. "Windows" is the fourth album from Silent Call and was mixed and mastered by Rich Hinks (Annihilator). After three decades and three albums released to date, "Windows" will be the last album of their career. Don't miss the chance to catch this brand new progressive heavy metal masterpiece. Listen to 'Imprisoned In Flesh' HERE. Album Pre-Order: http://bit.ly/Windows_CD Spotify: https://spoti.fi/2PkvELw Arising from the thriving music scene of Stockholm, Sweden, Silent Call trace their lineage to the year 1990, when founding members Daniel Ekholm and Patrik Törnblom met through a common friend. Realizing their shared passion and strong melodic influence, they formed what became the chief driving force and songwriting effort behind Silent Call's sound, which can be compared to many of the leading bands in today's' genre. In 2006, Silent Call was joined by progressive metal drummer powerhouse Mikael Kvist (Elsesphere, Fate), and the line-up was soon expanded with the acquisition of bassist Tobbe Moen (Red Fun, OZ, Creozoth). The singer's slot was finally filled in September of 2006 with the addition of ex-Seventh Wonder and Elsesphere vocalist Andi Kravljaca. After the completion of the line-up, things happened very quickly for Silent Call. The band's debut 4-track demo "Divided," released in January of 2007, showcased the band's new direction and line-up and was promptly picked up by UK label Escape Music. Silent Call's debut album, "Creations From A Chosen Path", was released during August 2008, featuring 13 tracks of powerful melodic metal, with guest appearances by the likes of Göran Edman (Yngwie Malmsteen, Brazen Abbot) on vocals and Daniel Flores (Mind's Eye, Murder of My Sweet) on drums. The album was mixed and mastered at JM Studios by famed studio man Martin Kronlund (Hammerfall). Received extremely well by the press, "Creations From A Chosen Path" has been hailed as one of the best metal albums of 2008 by several European magazines. During the winter of 2009, Silent Call began recording their follow-up album, "Greed". Once again mixed and mastered by Martin Kronlund, and this time featuring artwork by Progart genius Mattias Noren, the 11 tracks on "Greed" explore heavier and more complex musical ground, showcasing Silent Call at their thus far most progressive, and most aggressive release. Silent Call had to pull off something special if they were to continue on the lines of surpassing their debut and "Greed" had done just that. Their follow-up 2014 release "Truth's Redemption" was a fine example of what fantastic progressive metal should actually sound like! With songs like "Every Day", "All That Might Be" and "When the Angels Call Your Name", Silent Call effortlessly produced top class music with all the hallmarks of being overnight sensations. Crisp guitar work, a plethora of keyboards and great lead vocals were all to be found on the album. In late 2014, new vocalist Göran Nyström (ex Twinspirits) joined the band. Prior to that Silent Call consisted of Göran Nyström on vocals, Daniel Ekholm on guitars, Patrik Törnblom on keyboards, Tobbe Moen on bass and Mikael Kvist on drums. The band started writing songs for a new album in 2015 and also went on a European tour together with Sweden's Tad Morose. "Windows", the newest album from Silent Call, will be released in the fall of 2019. Production on Silent Call's fourth album, "Windows" was completed in late 2016 and was mixed and mastered by Rich Hinks (Annihilator). "Windows" will be the last album of their career and is due out on October 11, 2019 via Rockshots Records. For More Info: Rockshots.eu Tool celebrates their third consecutive #1 debut on Billboard’s Top 200, with Fear Inoculum (RCA Records) reigning over the U.S. sales charts, selling 270,000 units. The news of Fear Inoculum’s impressive debut comes amidst news stories of the album release being met by lengthy lines at retailers as music lovers clamoured to get a copy of the limited edition, physical version of the CD. The spectacular, groundbreaking packaging boasts a 4” HD rechargeable screen with exclusive video footage, charging cable, 2 watt speaker, a 36-page booklet and a digital download card. The Coalition of Independent Music Stores (CIMS) released a rare statement, describing the event-like album release:- “Several stores had well-attended midnight sales on Thursday (it was my store's first midnight sale in 10 years). When we returned to work on Friday morning, there were lines at the door… the TOOL release was the biggest thing to hit retail in years.” The success wasn’t isolated to the U.S., with the album debuting at #1 in Australia, Norway, New Zealand, and Belgium, as well as Top 5 debuts in the UK, Germany, The Netherlands, Ireland, Italy and Finland. toolband.com facebook.com/toolmusic twitter.com/tool instagram.com/toolmusic Without question, Rob Halford is one of heavy metal’s all-time great vocalists - as heard through his highly influential and groundbreaking work with Judas Priest. But over his career, he has also proven able to master a variety of other styles vocally - including holiday-themed music. And in time for this holiday season, Halford will be releasing an all-new album, entitled Celestial on October 18th via Legacy Recordings. Credited to Rob Halford with Family and Friends, the album mixes holiday classics with all-new compositions, and will appeal to lovers of traditional holiday music and headbangers alike. The man also known as the Metal God goes on to explain:- “The great thing about heavy metal is it’s got these kinds of multiple dimensions. I think when you look at it from an outside point of view - if you’re not really familiar with the metal scene - it can look pretty intimidating. And it is a very strong, powerful experience. But it comes at different levels. I think the music that we’ve made on Celestial, for example, gives a display of that. Metal maniacs - as we call ourselves - are just as ready for the holidays as everybody else. And what we’ve tried to do with this music is to reach out to as many of those metal dimensions as we possibly can.” And judging from the “Rob Halford with Family and Friends” banner, Celestial sees Halford joined by a supporting cast of those very close to him - his brother (Nigel) on drums, his nephew on bass (Alex, son of Priest bassist Ian Hill), has sister (Sue) on bells, and twin guitar tandem of Robert Jones and Jon Blakey. Once all the contributors were in place, Halford:- “Went away and listened to a lot holiday music and Christmas carols. Traditional stuff. 12 tracks - including original tracks that I’m particularly excited about. And in that way, because of the dimensions of each song and the messages of each song, I think we cover a really broad platform. To me, more than anything, I wanted it to have its own characteristics and be a little bit more different than the regular rock n’ roll Christmas album.” Halford has certainly accomplished this goal, as evidenced by such standout originals as the album-opening title track, “Donner and Blitzen,” and “Protected by the Light,” as well as re-workings of such holiday standards as “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Joy to the World,” and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” among other standouts. “‘Donner and Blitzen’ gets the snowball rolling for Celestial - a song full of excitement, love and hope,” says Rob. “You can hear and feel the power of Christmas time - energy roarin’ with rockin’ reindeers haulin’!” “I think the holidays for any family are a mixture of fun and excitement and apprehension of the whole event. The magic of it more than anything else. It’s just a beautiful time of year - which a lot of us wish would be for every day of the year. It’s a beautiful thing as far as bringing families together. So, what better way to celebrate it than with your family, friends...and music. You must have music at Christmas time.” And with the arrival of Celestial, Rob Halford has certainly done his part. ‘Celestial’ tracklist: Side A 1. Celestial [new song] 2. Donner and Blitzen [new song] 3. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen 4. Away In A Manger 5. Morning Star [new song] 6. Deck The Halls Side B 1. Joy To The World 2. O Little Town Of Bethlehem 3. Hark! Protected By The Light [new song] facebook.com/robhalfordlegacy Montreal, Canada-based speed metal trio Warsenal have joined forces with Svart Records for the release of their Feast Your Eyes full-length. Slated for worldwide release on November 15th, the anticipated follow-up to 2015's Barn Burner debut boasts the band’s most forward-thinking assortment of speed/thrash metal hymns to date and is sure to snap the necks of younger fans, alongside worshippers of the old school à la Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax. Comments Warsenal guitarist/vocalist Mathieu Rondeau:- "We’re really excited to be signing with Finnish label Svart Records. They have a great international visibility and are very well respected among musicians and fans alike. This makes us very honoured to be taking over the world of metal under their flag. I think that with Feast Your Eyes, we’ve really grasped what is the 'Warsenal sound' and how we want to go from there. It's still raw and filled to the brim with crazy riffs flying everywhere, but the production quality and the song structures have really taken on major improvement; call it maturity, I guess. The songs are all very different and unique, while keeping the Warsenal energy and the madness people dug on the first album. A lot of surprises and jaw-dropping is to be expected. It's definitely not your typical, generic thrash or speed metal album." Further details on Feast Your Eyes, including track teasers and preorders, will be unveiled in the weeks to come. Warsenal released a three-song demo in 2012 and immediately started performing live that same year. The demo quickly grasped the attention of a Japanese festival organizer, who invited the band to perform on the True Thrash Fest in February 2013 alongside the likes of legends Exciter, Violator, and Sabbat. The band gained further notoriety upon their return home, where they played shows incessantly throughout Canada. Since the release of their 2015 debut album, Barn Burner, Warsenal have remained an active live act, having toured the US, Canada, and Mexico and appearing at various metal fests, including Full Terror Assault with Overkill, Venom Inc., Crowbar, Goatwhore, Toxic Holocaust, and more. Stay tuned for further Warsenal live invasions to be announced soon.
