Finnish metallers Wolfshead unleash their new album "Leaden", out today December 8th in North America via Rockshots and was earlier released in Europe one October 27th. Wolfshead's style is pure old school heavy metal, heavy guitar riffs, growling bass, pounding drums with bluesy, leather-lunged whisky-scented vocals on top. Taking their main influences from such acts as Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Venom and the whole NWOBHM movement, Wolfshead manages to combine almost everything from heavy rock music from between 1967 and 1985 to their own unique blend of doom metal. They write songs about lycanthropy, the living dead, witch hunts, Cthulhu Mythos and of course, heavy metal itself. Black / Death alchemists Vhorthax premiere the new track "Thy Foul Graal" at heavily trafficked web-portal CVLTNation.com. The track hails from the band's striking debut EP, Nether Darkness, set for international release on January 5th, 2018 via Iron Bonehead Productions. Hear Vhorthax's "Thy Foul Graal" in its entirety exclusively HERE. Hailing from Russia, Vhorthax was formed by members of the band Abyssfire - Morkh (voices & psalms - also Sickrites and Serpentrance), Nicholas-N.A.-I.I. (drums), and M.P. (guitars & bass) - in 2016 during a night of black candle mass meditations in their rehearsal bunker. There's no other goal but the channeling of primitive and cavernous chants of the Devil in the rough form of morbid Black / Death echoing with the sounds of the altars of worship. After several gigs, Vhorthax locked themselves in the bunker and crafted the four foul songs branded as Nether Darkness. Now bookended by a suitably haunting intro and outro, Nether Darkness indeed evokes its title: a plunge into the deepest, darkest recesses of the eternal abyss. Muscular yet atmospheric and travelling across all sorts of diabolical terrain, Vhorthax craft a sound that's both patient and potent, simmering with sinister energies before winding up and into a fiery fury. Moments of ritualism become full conflagrations, and the slipstreaming momentum becomes too much to bare. Truly, this is Nether Darkness, and Vhorthax are leading the way downward with torch in hand. The next torch has been lit exclusively HERE, courtesy of CVLTNation.com. The first torch has been lit HERE at Iron Bonehead's Soundcloud, with the previously revealed track "Stabat Mater". Danish old school heavy metal band, Savage Machine, will release their first full-length album 'Abandon Earth' on January 19, 2018. The album is produced, mixed and mastered Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Jorn, Pretty Maids) at Jailhouse Studios. A video teaser can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/dChqYYpp80g The cover artwork was made by Mario E. Lopez M. (Iron Maiden, Megadeth, King Diamond, Metal Church). After a long time dormant, Savage Machine is armed, recharged and ready to resume their heavy metal crusade. The result is an ambitious full-length album with battering, yet playful riffs, powerful vocals and a rock-solid rhythm squad whose only purpose is to convert your heathen soul to that of a true headbanger. “Abandon Earth” takes you into the grim future of post-apocalyptic despair, where the war between man and machine rages. Earth Is dead and the last remaining resource’s are spent. The only salvation of mankind lies in the heavens but, who gets to go? Who deserves to go? And is there really anything other than darkness out there? Savage Machine, from Denmark, is honouring a proud lineage of Heavy Metal kings with a modern twist. Ambitiously, The machine delivers savage riffs, thundering drums and galloping bass over the grandiose vocals of pure metal thunder. Having existed since 2010, Savage Machine has been a big part of the Danish underground scene for several years before emerging onto the international stage in 2015’s Wacken Open Air. In the past year, Savage Machine recorded a hard-hitting debut album and toured across Europe with Spain’s ”Lords of Black”. www.facebook.com/savagemachineband www.savage-machine.com Indian death metal band Chronic Xorn have announced their new release and it holds a lot of promise. They've got a series of shows lined up in North India and even Bhutan in support of the upcoming album. Indian band Chronic Xorn have worked hard over the years to build a tremendous following in the nation and have now announced their third release titled 'For These Sins Who Must Die'. It's an adrenaline rush of crushing riffage and mammoth breakdowns. The passion is palpable and as a D.I.Y effort, it's right up there with the rest. Moreover, the album is dedicated to a close deceased friend Abhishek Bhattacharya who penned the lyrics for all the songs on it. The vocalist Saptadip Chakrabarty has this to say about it - "History reveals that in every religion, community and caste, there has always been a major race of common people, those who suffer and rot under the reign of a corrupted helm. Unwillingly their blood spills as the ever deceitful leader smiles away to glory. This album speaks about all those commoners, who are helplessly handcuffed by societal pressure. Their voices choke under the smoke of fraudulence." Reaching rock bottom, but still there is some light to reach. Ashes music video captured song’s ambience pretty damn well. Song is about losing something very close and even the darkest hearted can empower in the end." Released this past Friday via Goathorned Productions, hear Ignis Haereticum's Autocognition of Light in its entirety exclusively HERE. Riding high on the towering immensity of their Luciferian Gnosis debut album in 2014, these Colombian occultists now aim for more transcendent heights and fathomless depths with a six-song/41-minute record that serves as one, unified work. Arguably even more towering than its no-less-considerable predecessor, Autocognition of Light dazzles and defies with an eerily seamless ease, its iteration of orthodox black metal soundly trumping the hapless throngs of Deathspell Omega worship. For this creation is imbued with true belief and solemn reverence: Ignis Haereticum are sonic mages weaving spells both terrible and trance-inducing, their descent into the abyss assured but surely not the final destination. Ignis Haereticum's new opus was conceived and written as an entire piece instead of just a bunch of songs. It is an illuminative treatise of the band's gnosis, which is manifested through two ways: the purgative way and the illuminative way. The purgative way deals with the active purification of the internal and external senses, the passions, the understanding and the will, through mortification and meditation. Here, the spiritual is nourished by the physical, reminding us all of our imminent mortality. At the end of this first part begins the infused contemplation, whereby the soul rises towards the illumination. It is here where we are aware of our divine condition and we leave behind the attachments of the flesh and the limitations of this material world. Bringing for us, the next path: the illuminative way, which is the recognition of ourselves, our nature, the state in which we are aware of our spirituality free of dogmas. Here, our humanity loses all value and only remains our divine communion with the light of knowledge, which is none other than the reflection of our own light that dwells in the depths of our consciousness. Ukrainian Black metal project Three Eyes of the Void launched official premiere of the song "The Eyes to See" from upcoming EP "The Moment Of Storm", which will be released digitally on December 4, 2017! https://youtu.be/34Phjn1eBoI Project was founded by Dmytro Kvashnin (ex Balfor https://www.facebook.com/balforofficial/) in the autumn of 2016. The first demo was recorded in the winter of 2017 at the home studio in Kyiv, Ukraine. After coming up with the general music concept, it was decided to produce a record in a form of EP. Alexander Kasiarum (Joncofy https://www.facebook.com/Joncofy/) took part as a session musician to record the drums at his own studio in Kyiv, Ukraine. Other instruments and vocals were performed by Dmytro Kvashnin and mixed at MuzProduction recording studio by Oleg Olgerd Rubanov in Lviv, Ukraine. Lyrics theme has a deep personal but still rational expression of a frivolous interaction between individuals in a global social environment, which dramatically reflects in lost self identification as a living being. "The Moment of Storm" is a collection of flowing thoughts which came to mind of one during observation of a nature and a dialogue with a friend about the issue above. The form of expression was borrowed from such works as "Human, All Too Human: A Book for Free Spirits" (Friedrich Nietzsche) and Republic (Plato). Music expression is still fluid and has a definite influences of metal and classical composers as well. https://www.facebook.com/teovband/ https://www.facebook.com/diabolus.productions/ |
