Exactly two years after the release of their debut full-length album, Cern Sol, Romanian Black Metal band Genune announce the follow-up material, a second full-length album titled Inert & Unerring scheduled to be released in the Spring of 2021 in collaboration with Loud Rage Music.
Here's what the band had to say about the new album:
"Inert & Unerring contains tracks that are compositionally more akin to one another, but it otherwise follows the same stylistic choices seen in our previous album. Without going into detail, its theme revolves around identity and the past, exploring the notion of heritage through different lenses. Inert & Unerring is not a concept album, as the lyrics don’t have any plot or characters to follow along, they’re instead composed of images and perceptions put into words, to allow for personal interpretation. The title is taken from a novel written by Arthur Koestler, that is relevant to the subject matter of this album."
More details on Inert & Unerring are soon to be revealed. In the meantime Cern Sol is still available for streaming and download directly from the band: https://genune.bandcamp.com/

French operatic symphonic metallers Avaland sign with Rockshots Records; debut album "Theater Of Sorcery" out April 2021
Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of Grenoble, France's Avaland, an epic and symphonic metal opera, directed, written, and composed by young 22-year-old prodigy Adrien G. Gzagg.
Inspired by heroic fantasy, history, mythologies, and the esoteric, Gzagg decided to create an epic story with 8 characters. Entitled "Theater Of Sorcery", the debut will be a theatrical metal adventure that tells the story of a young sorcerer Adam Wilstorm who could be the salvation of bringing back the light to the kingdom of Avaland and during his journey, he must learn to control his powers linked to the Storm.
For Avaland, Gzagg reunited with four musician friends Camille Souffron (Bass), Christophe Feutrier (Guitars), Lucas Martinez (Guitars), and Léo Mouchonay (Drums) that he has performed with in the past to help him to record the metal opera's debut full-length. The record also includes talented guests for vocals and guitars with Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Zak Stevens (Savatage/TSO), Zaher Zorgati (Myrath), Emmanuelson (Rising Steel), Stéphan Forté (Adagio), Madie (Nightmare) among many other great musicians.
"I started my heavy metal life as a great fan of Avantasia and Ayreon. I was impressed by those big teams Tobias Sammet and Arjen Lucassen could create. I quickly knew I would make something like this in my life! It wasn’t easy to find musicians who were crazy enough to follow me in this adventure, and I thank them so much for their trust in this project, especially guitarist Christophe Feutrier (guitars) my partner in crime for Avaland for 5 years now.
I like to also add that Avaland is not a “classic” band, it’s a Metal-Opera and when Covid is over, I plan to take it the stage with many vocalists to perform this theatrical tale of an epic and magical story. To sum it up, Avaland is a modern-age opera to not just fans of metal, but beyond!"
"Theater Of Sorcery" album will be released in April 2021, while first single is expected in January 2021!

Veteran Italian industrial metallers Aborym announce new album “Hostile”; music video for ‘Horizon Ignited’ out now
Italian industrial electronic metallers Aborym are back with their most challenging studio album to date. “Hostile” is the definitive magnum opus from a band who wrote an unforgettable piece of history in the extreme metal camp.
The follow-up to “Shifting.negative”, produced by Keith Hillebrandt (Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie, a.o.), is a consolidation and continuation of Aborym career. Rather than re-invent the wheel or try and compete with contemporary trends, this record takes the blueprint we know and love and sees the band adding even more layers and taking some of their work to its nth degree. They are unarguably heavy, and there are a lot of metal inspirations in their sound, but “Hostile” can be considered as a kaleidoscopic weird mix of psychedelia, electronic music, rock and experimental music. Aborym’s mission is simply to make music that has never been heard before.
“Hostile” will be released as digipak CD and digital on February 12th 2021 on Dead Seed Productions, while the vinyl version will be out in April 2021.
The pre-orders are available HERE: http://store.deadseedproductions.com/products/688626-aborym-hostile-digipak-cd-pre-order

Commenting on ‘Horizon Ignited’ ABORYM’s mastermind Fabrizio Giannese aka Fabban says:
“Difficulties in remembering to forget. The new atheism. The ardent wish to finally forget about God: to discard the cherished illusion of God and definitively break away from the images and thoughts. The core hypothesis of this song is that the ‘death of God’ does not straight away imply that God is forgotten. The memory of God makes a reconsideration of God possible which avoids the widespread, but misleading alternative, between ‘the death of God’ on the one hand, and his alleged ‘return’ on the other. Two overall interests thereby intersect: an exegetical and a systematic one”.

Vocalist Noa Gruman states that:-
“2020 was a hell of a ride for Scardust! COVID-19 tried to sabotage the recording of our album and the making of no less than six music videos (and more to come), but we managed to keep to our schedule even when we barely could meet up with each other. Countless fans told us they wished they could see us live on stage with the new songs, so on Nov. 14, we returned to Bardo Studios, where we recorded the drums and choirs for 'Strangers,’ to play a live-stream show to celebrate the release of the new album. We’ve missed performing live so much, and it made us very happy to play live again and interact with our beloved audience. The thousands of people who joined the live stream that night made it double the thrill. This video is an unedited record of that wonderful event – technical glitches and all!"
An intriguing concept album built of complementary song pairs working from the outside in, “Strangers” is available now in stores and on digital music platforms such as Amazon, Apple Music, and Spotify. CD and limited-edition gray smoke vinyl editions of can also be ordered via https://smarturl.com/scardust2020.

It’s something fans new and old will appreciate, and I look forward to throwing some chingasos in the pit with our Niño Familia in 2021!”
