Today, Svart Records announces November 29th as the international release date for Kuolemanlaakso's "Musta Aurinko Nousee" EP. This forthcoming EP includes three new Kuolemanlaakso songs, and a captivating cover version of Juice Leskinen’s classic by the same name. The EP will be released as a limited digipak CD and a strictly limited 12” vinyl with three different colors (100 copies per color). The title track to Kuolemanlaakso's "Musta Aurinko Nousee", which features a guest guitar solo from V. Santura, can be heard here: https://soundcloud.com/svart-records/kuolemanlaakso-musta-aurinko In 2012, the Finnish Doom / Death scene saw newcomer Kuolemanlaakso ascend directly to the ranks of its elite with the critically acclaimed Svart debut "Uljas uusi maailma", which reached #42 on the Official Finnish Album Chart and #6 on the Rumba Chart. In support of "Uljas uusi maailma", Kuolemanlaakso toured its native country, hitting some of Finland’s biggest and most respected clubs, then adding a performance at the 2013 Tuska Open Air Festival. Feeding off of this momentum, Kuolemanlaakso planned new material on the road and entered a secret, secluded location in the forests of Finland, once again with acclaimed producer / engineer / guitarist V. Santura (Woodshed Studios, Dark Fortress, Celtic Frost, Triptykon). In the course of writing and recording, it was soon made obvious that Kuolemanlaakso had not only enough material for a full-length album, but for an EP, as well. "Our goal was to create the tightest and most balanced entities for both releases. The EP introduces our current style in a more straightforward and shorter form, whereas the full-length evolved into something more epic," states guitarist / keyboardist and main songwriter Laakso. "The EP tracks are quite different from one other, with each song displaying a different side of the band and what we are capable of." Cover and track-listing for Kuolemanlaakso's "Musta aurinko nousee" are as follows: Tracklisting for Kuolemanlaakso's "Musta Aurinko Nousee" 1. Me Vaellamme Yössä (edit) 2. Tulenväki 3. Boston Death Metallers Soul Remnants and Metal411.com have locked horns for the exclusive premiere of "No Afterlife," taken from the band's upcoming album, "Black and Blood". A mere sampling of the intensity that is "Black and Blood", "No Afterlife" is now playing at this location. "Black and Blood" will be available via Horror Pain Gore Death Productions on October 31. The Bean-Town Death Metal Vets absolutely nail it in striking that elusive balance between memorable songwriting and unrepentant viciousness. "Black and Blood" is nothing short of a masterful display of compositional dynamics inspired in equal measure by U.S Death Metal and Norwegian Black Metal. If it's a frighteningly intense aural experience that you seek, then look no further. "Black and Blood" is the sound of a band firing on all cylinders. "Note to all the veteran death metal acts struggling to find the energy of their classic releases: this is how it's done." - Metal Crypt "Composing varied tracks without stepping into hectic and dead hearted fret board gymnastics. Fans of technical Death Metal as well as open minded people shouldn't hesitate to give this band a try." - Brutalism "The Dawn Of Consummation And Emergence", the new album from Mumbai-based Death Metal outfit Reptilian Death, is now available on CD and digital formats. The band spent their first 12 years making sporadic live appearances and changing line-ups fairly often. During that time, Reptilian Death had an almost humorous disposition, writing little spoof metal epics like '5 Easy Ways To Murder Someone' and 'Nursery Rhymes For Satan's Children' while balancing a handful of serious tracks which eventually found themselves on their 2004 debut, "Total Annihilation". In 2006, the band's direction took a turn for the serious with the release of their EP "Intestinal Feast" on the "Defaced And Split" album, which also featured Exhumation, Warface and Narsil. Shortly after the release, the band returned to the shadows until resurfacing in early 2013. The band exploded on the scene completely metamorphosed into brand new beast. Fronted by Vinay Venkatesh (Bhaynak Maut), dressed in priestly robes with his face painted half black and half white and backed by a band of masked members Reptilian Death has moved out of the shadows and into the forefront of the global metal community. The world will now see "The Dawn Of Consummation And Emergence". www.facebook.com/ReptilianDeath www.osmrecords.net Legion Of The Damned finally reveals the album cover of the upcoming album entitled "Ravenous Plague" set to be released in the UK on the 23rd of December 2013. The cover was painted by mastermind Wes Bensecoter (Kreator). Stay tuned for more details about this upcoming Thrash Metal masterpiece. https://www.facebook.com/LOTDOfficial Today, Broken Hope and Bloody-Disgusting.com are pleased to premiere the brand new static video for the band’s track ‘The Docking Dead’, cut from their upcoming album "Omen Of Disease", out October 1 on Century Media Records (September 30th in Europe). The static video can be viewed here — but beware before you listen! This content of this track is insane… literally. Harvesting explicit body parts to create zombies? Leave it to Broken Hope to conjure the horror!
Broken Hope guitarist Jeremy Wagner says: "I began penning words for Broken Hope 25 years ago, and my approach has never changed... I still create the most horrific, insane, and repulsive lyrics my mind can conjure. ‘The Docking Dead’ is no exception to my long list of nasty flash-fiction. Many of my ideas start with a "what if" scenario. In the case of ‘THE DOCKING DEAD,’ I asked myself, "what if a Re-Animator-like scientist attempted to harvest human foreskins from male corpses using an experimental re-agent and growth hormone--and in doing so, he started a zombie apocalypse?" That's all I needed to write the lyrics to this song. Zombies, dead penile tissue, death metal, and grind are what's in store when you hear--and read--our newest preview song, ‘The Docking Dead.’ While on YouTube, take a listen to the band’s other available track, ‘The Flesh Mechanic’, here: "Omen Of Disease" will be released in Europe on September 30 and on October 1 in North America on Century Media Records, with cover artwork painted by world-renowned horror artist Wes Benscoter, best known for his work with Slayer, Cattle Decapitation, Autopsy and Kreator. "Omen Of Disease" marks the first new music from Broken Hope in 15 years. The album was recorded between two studios: drums at Belle City Sound in Racine, WI, with engineer Chris Wisco (Lazarus A.D., Jungle Rot, Origin, Gorgasm), and the rest at Mercenary Digital Studios in Zion, IL, with engineer Scott Creekmore (Broken Hope, Dirge Within, Lividity). Presuming you still have a hefty appetite after reading about experimental usage of foreskins, feast your eyes on the announcement of Broken Hope’s upcoming metal burger, debuting at their official listening party taking place on Sunday, September 29th at The Original Kuma’s Corner in Chicago, IL (2900 W. Belmont Ave). Listen to Omen Of Disease in its entirety and take a bite out of the Broken Hope Burger, joining the long line of other monumental metal burgers available at Kuma’s Corner! Long tangled in legal limbo, the music from "The Dead Shall Dead Remain" has been unavailable on CD for over a decade. The re-recording dodges those legal hurdles and puts the music back in print.
The stakes were raised as Impaled sought to best the production of the original. "The Dead Still Dead Remain" features recording and mixing by Vinnie Wojno, famous for his work with Testament. Impaled and Wojno worked for three years to get the recording they wanted. "It simply sounds better, no matter how you slice it. And we surely do slice it!" says guitarist Jason Kocol. Impaled assures fans that the music on "The Dead Still Dead Remain" is faithful to the original. It features the return of vocalist Leon del Muerte, who says, "it was like the last thirteen years of backstabbing and spitefulness never happened!" Even the artwork, which the band insists has already been banned in 672 countries, harkens back to their first release but is even more revolting. (Ed: Even though there are 196 countries in the world... we believe someone did not do their maths!) The shit will hit the fans when Willowtip Records releases "The Dead Still Dead Remain" on October 29. After 2012's comeback EP "Sacrifice the King" which got mixed feelings amongst fans, the band not only continued working on new songs, but also added a second guitarist named Ville Nokelainen and entered studios in spring 2013 to record the new album entitled "Awaken From Slumber" at the same time they offered their first shows in 20 years.
For those who expect a "Member…II", they won't find it here. That album was done over 20 years ago with a different line up. "Awaken From Slumber" album shows the heaviest and darkest side of the band. This is how Purtenance sounds in 2013!! F**king crushing, heavy and gloomy Death Metal with inhumanely brutal vocals. Those who weren't satisfied with their previous EP should give it a listen to this new album cos they'll be gladly surprised!! Track listing for "Awaken From Slumber" is as follows: 01. Intro 02. Hatred 03. What Was Hidden 04. Toxic Death 05. Field of Terror 06. Vaikka Paahtuisin Tulessa 07. End for the Parasites (Called Humankind) 08. Hour of the Cannibal 09. Temptation of Suicide 10. Just after the release of the album, Purtenance will play their very first show outside Finland at Ritual Zombi Fest together with label mates Avulsed, Dissect (NL), Christ Denied & Onirophagus in October 12th to take place in Madrid (Spain). Check out the teaser at this location.
The follow-up to the band's 2007, self-released debut, "Abyss", "Opaque" will be released on September 20th in Germany, September 23rd in the UK and the rest of Europe and October 1st in North America through Apostasy Records. "Opaque" was produced together with Lasse Lammert at LSD-Studio in Lübeck, Germany. Artwork comes courtesy of Ben Borucki (Irrleuchten). The band comments admits that: "By suppressing our deepest feelings and by concealing our fears and emotions we mask our inner self. This topic runs like a red thread through our new album. No other title would fit the content better than "Opaque". The artwork, which was done by Ben Borucki, captures this atmosphere perfectly and creates a symbiosis between the music, the lyrics and the art." Tracklist 01. iNnerME 02. Torn To Shreds 03. Opaque Since 2005, the name Nailed To Obscurity has stood for an inventive mélange of hard riffs, atmospheric melancholy and a distinctively unique sound. The band has already displayed all of these qualities on their debut album, "Abyss", recorded at the Soundlodge Studio with producer Joerg Uken (God Dethroned, Izegrim a.o.). After the release of their debut, Nailed To Obscurity focused their energies on progressing as a band and elevated themselves to the next level through numerous shows and their consistent pursuit of musical refinement. The results have clearly paid off with their newest masterpiece, "Opaque". www.facebook.com/nailedtoobscurity www.apostasyrecords.com Wormholedeath and Lost Penguin Conspiracy are proud to present their latest addition to the worldwide distribution roster: Barbarian Prophecies. Wormholedeath will distribute and market the new album from Spanish Death Metal assault Barbarian Prophecies titled “XIII”. The release date is set for early autumn 2013. You can stream the album preview here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvILHsLNH5M The band stated: “We are very proud to announce that our next album, “XIII”, will be released under the label WormHoleDeath, which makes us one of the first Spanish bands in being part of this label. After having self-released our previous record, “Remember the Fallen”, we decided that it was necessary to count with the support of a label to give greater international projection to our work. For this reason, and after assessing the options that we had, we think that WHD was the record label that is more suited to our needs. Their professionalism and interest in the band provides the security that their work will be thinking in seeking the best for Barbarian Prophecies. Also want to thank our agency “Lost Penguin Conspiracy” by the management in the process from the first minute, always looking for the best for the band, and without which we had not reached this agreement.” Hailing from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Death Metal lads Perversion are happy to announce that their second album 'Pillars of the Enlightened' will be released on 30th July 2013 via Canadian label Blast Head Records.
This will be the latest installment in the Emirati Metal scene since Nervecell's second album 'Psychogenocide' was released two years ago.
