As previously announced, Danish metal troupe Rising has confirmed November 4th as the worldwide street date for their new album, "Abominor", set for release through guitarist Jacob Krogholt's newly formed label, Indisciplinarian. Following its recent premiere on Danish National Radio, today, the fourth of the album's nine raging anthems, "The Hills Below," is now streaming via Youtube.
Listen to Rising roar to "The Hills Below" now AT THIS LOCATION. "Abominor" contains nearly forty minutes of new material, displaying a faster, more aggressive and gritty side to the Rising sound, incorporating more punk and crust influences, while remaining true to the melodic heaviness that has been a trademark of the band from the beginning. The album is produced by Jakob Reichert Nielsen, who also produced Rising's self-titled debut EP as well as their debut album, "To Solemn Ash", and the artwork created by singer / bassist Henrik Hald. However, "Abominor" is to be the last album from this incarnation of the band. The year leading up to the recording sessions showed severe disagreements creatively and personally within the ranks, and upon finishing the album drummer Johansen and singer/bassist Hald left the band. "Abominor" thereby signifies the end of an era for Rising and as a result of the demise, there will be no tours or live performances directly in support of the LP.Main composer, guitarist and remaining member Jacob Krogholt has now teamed up with original drummer Martin Niemann, who formed the band alongside Krogholt in 2008, and the two core members will continue Rising with a new line-up and are currently busy writing new material to be recorded and performed live in the course of 2014. "Abominor" will be released as 180 gram black vinyl limited to three hundred copies, as well as digitally worldwide. The LP version is now up for preorder to international customers at Indisciplinarian's new official website HERE. Fans in the US will be able to order the album directly from Earsplit in the coming weeks; stay tuned for preorder info. http://www.facebook.com/risingdk http://www.indisciplinarian.com http://www.facebook.com/indisciplinarian http://www.indisciplinarian.bandcamp.com

As widely reported, Lamb Of God’s concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which was scheduled for September 28th has been cancelled by the government, who refused to issue a permit for the show even though the concert had been on sale and had sold over 1,500 tickets.
Lamb Of God’s guitarist Mark Morton has issued the following statement regarding the decision by the Malaysian government. Shows scheduled in New Zealand, Australia, and Thailand will still be performed by the group: “It is very evident (and a bit frustrating) that the groups, parties and powers that have taken the most offense to our music and lyrics, have themselves only made a passing glance at the content and meanings of those songs. We would invite anyone offended by our music to engage in a discussion regarding the true motivations behind our work, especially before publicly slandering us based on assumptions and shallow misinterpretation. We sincerely apologize to our amazing fans in Malaysia for the cancellation. Many thanks to all who have spoken out in support of us through this.” GMA spoke to a couple of Malaysians regarding this issue, we have concealed their identities for obvious reasons. The only main reason cited behind the reason for cancellation falls onto religion, according to one Malaysian the reason is that Metal music is not suitable for Islam as it is the main religion in Malaysia, he questions though why the night clubs exist and why pop artists like the The Pussycat Dolls can come and play in Malaysia, he feels the Government is restricting the growth of metal music. Naturally he says the Malaysian metalheads are not pleased, they are angry but as of yet there are no riots nor agitated violence as seen in the past when Metallica played Indonesia. He goes on to say that although the Malaysian government is aware of the metal bands in Malaysia, they have not acted against them via means of punishment, the metal bands themselves he says are underground. The government is to blame not Islam he says and also goes on to say that the government saw the band as a Satanic band, which he admits is funny given the band name is a Christian reference, he is strongly against the government citing that they have an easy living, easy way of earning and that the working class suffer. Another Malaysian admits that this was bound to happen eventually especially when "people of the cloth" suddenly got the need to protect the morality of the masses when all this while they did nothing! Heck Beyonce and The Pussycat Dolls did a "revealing" show over here and no one battered their eyelids! Pure hypocrisy, just that. Englund, who makes his first official appearance with the band on the 18 Nights Of Blood Tour commencing next month, takes the place of Rob Arnold.
Chris Barnes comments on the new recruit: "Ola is an amazing guitarist and was chosen for his superlative technique and style of playing. We believe he will be the perfect complement to Steve Swanson, and the devastating rhythm section that is Talley/Hughell. Steve, Kevin, Jeff and myself are so looking forward to Ola's entrance into the band upon the release of Undead and the commencement of our first tour next month with Dying Fetus and Revocation. We can't wait for you to witness the new killing machine that is Six Feet Under! Ola takes over duties for our good friend and death metal warrior Rob Arnold who will be retiring from touring but will remain a central writing partner and fellow collaborator on future SFU releases. We are all sad to not have Rob on the road with us, but are confidant and 110% psyched that Ola is now within the ranks of the Undead and will be ready to lay waste to every stop along the way! Hails! Adds Englund: "When I got the call from Chris, it felt unreal; first thing that popped up in my head was, 'why the hell did he want me -- the total gear nerd from Sweden -- to join his awesome band? To be able to share the stage with one of the biggest icons in death metal and the other killer musicians in SFU is a complete honor and a dream come true for me. I couldn't be happier about the situation! Also the new album blew my mind the first time I heard it, it's intense as hell, but still has the riffs and the grooves that Six Feet Under swears by. Fans are going to love it! I'm looking forward to kick some serious ass together with Chris, Kevin, Steve and Jeff! See you on tour!" Check out video footage documenting Englund's supreme axe prowess here. To celebrate its release the band will slaughter souls on a near three-week run of live ceremonies this June. The 18 Nights Of Blood Tour will begin in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8. Support will be provided by Dying Fetus and Revocation. http://metalblade.com/sixfeetunder http://www.sfu420.com http://www.facebook.com/sixfeetunder http://twitter.com/sixfeetofficial http://www.youtube.com/sixfeetunder http://www.myspace.com/sixfeetunder RHYS STEVENSON _Floridian Death / Groove Metal lords Six Feet Under get brutal as on the 1st May, the premier horror portal Bloody Disgusting hosted the band's latest "18 Days" lyric video, the venomous prayer comes from their upcoming soul-destroying album 'Undead', set for a UK release fate of May 21st, 2012 through Metal Blade Records.
On the album 'Undead', vocalist and lyricist Chris Barnes revisits topics that will be familiar to fans, he states: "The hypocrisies of daily life, things that affect us that spawn aggression, loneliness, sadness, there's a lot of emotions going on across the record, and I guess that the dark horror that humans cause is my niche,". However, while Barnes has a very clear vision for his craft, he is always excited by the interpretations of his songs by those who listen to them, feeding on the emotional investment they put in. "I love it when people tell me what they've got from the music and the lyrics. It's like being an artist, you put the painting up on the wall – youknow what it is, but sometimes it's a little abstract and someone sees something else in it, and that's the biggest compliment to me. That I'm able to get inside someone's head and they actually give thought to something presented to them is inspiring to me too, and something I always want to be able to do with this band." View the "18 Days" lyric video here The album was produced by Mark Lewis (Deicide, Devildriver) and mixed by Jason Suecof (Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy) at Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford, Florida and features the updated lineup: Chris Barnes - Vocals Rob Arnold (ex- Chimaira) - Guitars Steve Swanson (ex-Massacre) - Guitars Jeff Hughell (ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile) - Bass Kevin Talley (Dying Fetus, Misery Index, Chimaira) - Drums Last week Metal Blade TV aired an exclusive interview with Barnes as conducted by Metal Blade CEO Brian Slagel. To check out the interview, as well as first single, "Formaldehyde," and limited pre-order options, point your browser here In conjunction with the release of 'Undead', Six Feet Under will demolish the masses on a near three-week run of live rituals this June. The 18 Nights Of Blood Tour will begin in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8. Support will be provided by Dying Fetus and Revocation. RHYS STEVENSON |
