German Atmospheric Melodic metal duo Era Capricorn launched "I Wander Alone" full album teaser! Watch it here:- https://youtu.be/C3NWPHMNT0Q "We would like to send a warm "welcome" to all our fans from all over the world. We appreciate your support and are happy to see your support. We would like to finally show you all a trailer for our whole record, where you can listen to every song. The album is now available as a nice digipak from our shop, containing 8 songs with a playtime of roughly 68 minutes - http://eracapricorn.bigcartel.com." Era Capricorn was founded in August 2016 by Marina and Alex. The decision to found a band was made, after we realized, that we want to create our own music with our very own, specific sound. We started writing our material in February 2017 and recorded our music during August and December 2017. Finally we released our record "I wander alone" on April 9th 2018 and it is available as a digipak from our shop. The band currently consists of 2 musicians. Marina plays all keys and synths. Alex plays guitars and the bass. https://www.facebook.com/eracapricornofficial/ Bay Area melodic death metal outfit Light This City issues a new teaser video for the band's first new album in ten years. Having completed the new LP in recent days, the trailer shows the reactivated outfit in the studio, leaking the very first traces of the anxiously awaited record. After a decade of silence between albums, Light This City has returned with ten blazing tracks that capture the band's tendency towards extreme melody and intensity, honouring the Swedish sound of the '90s. Having spent the past decade performing and touring in numerous other bands, the five members of Light This City have only honed and shaped their skills and musicianship since their 2008-released Stormchaser. The album was recorded from December 2017 through February 2018 with Zack Ohren, who handled the band's previous four full length albums, at Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland, California, and features artwork by Tony Midi. See the new Light This City teaser video RIGHT HERE. Thenew record will be released in CD, LP, and digital formats on May 25th; watch for the title, artwork, track listing, preorder links, audio samples, and more to be issued in the days ahead. Light This City began in 2002, when best friends Laura Nichol and Ben Murray decided to start a melodic death metal project in the vein of At the Gates, Carcass, In Flames, and all the Scandinavian bands that inspired them to play fast, melodic, crushing music, largely untouched by the American population of metalcore, deathcore, and numerous other subgenres of heavy metal that were ignoring the monstrous influences of the '90s. After the sparks were lit, Nichol and Murray soon wrote their debut 2003 full-length, The Hero Cycle, which quickly landed them a deal with Prosthetic Records, who would go on to release the band's following three albums. As Murray and Nichol neared the end of high-school, Light This City released 2005's Remains Of The Gods, which sparked the rest of the band's trajectory on Prosthetic Records, and saw the band touring heavily in support of their Bay Area brand of melodic-death metal infused thrash. Remains Of The Gods gained favourable reviews and it seemed as if the metal press knew what was in store for Light This City. Next came the band's undeniably most popular album, Facing The Thousand. By the time Nichol and Murray had arrived into 2006, they were out of high-school, on the road full-time, with Steve Hoffman on guitar, Ryan "Hollywood" Hansen on lead guitar, and Jon Frost on bass. Facing The Thousand saw the band supporting a multitude of metal acts such as Death Angel, Vader, Malevolent Creation, Edguy, Into Eternity, All That Remains, Chimaira, Soilent Green, Darkest Hour, Suicide Silence, Misery Signals, and many more, gaining the band a rapid exposure into the metal mainstream. After a three-year touring cycle the band retreated to Oakland to record their fourth album, Stormchaser, which saw a guest vocal appearance by Chuck Billy of Testament. Before the official release of the album, Light This City disbanded before even having the chance to tour on their fourth and final effort. In 2010, Light This City played five final shows, dubbed The Final Thrash Attack, in which the band was able to celebrate the songs of Stormchaser, and give the fans a bit of closure that they never received with the band's sudden disappearance from the world of heavy metal. In September of 2015, Darkest Hour requested that Light This City play the San Francisco date of their twentieth anniversary tour. Light This City quickly reunited within a few months to rehearse one final set that would celebrate the band's four-album career. The show was absolutely one for the books, sparking the flame which lead the band to reunite, ten years later. The song is taken from the band's critically acclaimed album 'Aion' which was released in November 2015. The band commented: "This is the last song we wrote for Aion, the process was very hard for us but we love this song and we always open our gigs with it. It is a sum of all the ambiance we like to hear in a song and the final part always makes our hearts skip a bit when the voice screams "show me your skies." Get your ears on this first sneak peak, featuring all tracks from Arkona's upcoming album right HERE! A Khram, the Russian word for temple, is shrouded in natural mysticism slumbering behind nocturnal treetops, yet open to everyone. The sincerity and depth that binds all five band members together resonates in the sumptuously dark cover artwork and front-lady Masha`s lyrics, that are written in her own blood (which is also part of the artwork)! Arkona may have used sound samples in their early days, but nowadays cellos, brass parts, wind instruments and throat singing are recorded live meticulously and flow naturally into the band's harsh metal tunes: King-sized songs effortlessly shift from blackened pagan metal masterpieces to epic tracks with crystal-clear melodies and piano infusions. So better mark your calendars for January 19th 2018, as Arkona’s Khram is an exuberant and demanding affair that defies genre boundaries with untameable spirit! Coming as CD Digi Pack, Digital Download and LP Gatefold editions, Khram is now available to pre-order HERE! In support of their upcoming album, Arkona will be heavily touring in early 2018, including an extensive European tour with Korpiklaani, Heidevolk, Trollfest & many more! The album will be available as CD digipak, limited vinyl LP and digital download. The first teaser for the new album can be seen HERE Recorded at various studios, including Dobra12 (drums) and Icaros Studio (guitars) the disc was mixed and mastered at Impressive Art Studio by Przemyslaw Nowak who also handled vocals recording sessions and guitars’ re-amping. The album’s artwork, design and layout were created by Infected Minds. The album features special guest appearances by Mercyful Fate / King Diamond’s guitarist Mike Wead and by Norway’s dark metal masters Aeternus’ vocalist / guitarist Ares. Other artists who also contributed to the record are shamanic ritual meditative experimental act BÖN and Impressive Art Studio’s owner Przemyslaw Nowak who came up with interludes, additional background tunes and effects. “It’s been a really long way to be finally able to wrap it all up, countless nights spent on writing the music and lyrics first, then working on the album’s pre-production, followed by what seemed to be never-ending, proper recording sessions, and tones of work that had to be done for the band afterwards. We really wanted this new album to become something really special and therefore, to avoid any haphazard decisions, we let them come out of us smoothly, without putting ourselves under any external tension and stuff. Did it pay off? Well, we’ll see… We surely worked our asses off, pushed things back and forth to get the best out of it. As a result we’ve got something we are damn proud of, something that we believe surpasses on all possible levels everything we’ve done in the past. I simply believe we’d outdone ourselves and recorded something that will cause your hearts beat faster…” – comments Quazarre, the band’s composer, vocalist and guitarist.
The title chosen, “The I”, for the record is not only a phonetic acronym of the band’s name, but above all it reflects the manifesto they stand for since the Horde’s inception in the year 2000 – the notion of freedom of choice and will. A supremacy of an individual over any external factors being imposed on us by others, with special emphasis on religion and its convictions, dogmas and paradigms. “The I” is a rebellious manifesto targeted against all those who stand opposed to anything that drives us towards individual perfection.
